Been to Spotlight 2-3 times, each has been an amazing experience, the owners and staff know there way around German cars and do quality work! I have done fairly routine work like oil changes and spark plugs, as well as brake install, engine modifications with aftermarket parts, as well as work on the suspension and finally body work as well. Each experience has had zero complaints, very responsive owner and above and beyond customer service! My BMW 435i is running better then the day I drove it off the lot and this is because Spotlight has the experience and look for happy customers, not just taking your money and rushing you out of their shop. I called in the middle of a snow storm in 4 degree weather, and they were there! That in itself just shows how hardworking these mechanics are. The manager was extremely knowledgeable, didnt try to sell me on any extra services, and actually went the extra mile giving me my service free of charge. Ill never go anywhere else.

I’ve been coming here for 5 years through 3 different vehicles (Audi, Range Rover, and Aucra). Always feel like I’m getting great work at a great price. I’ve even gotten a couple of freebies in that time! They guarantee their work which is a bonus. Definitely recommend!

They really fix foreign cars here! Even the dealers fraudulently repair the vehicle, either not fully diagnosing, damaging or not securing other parts they had to remove when fixing the vehicle. These guys are reasonable in price and troubleshoot well.

Best automotive shop around my neighborhood. I am not knowledgeable when it comes to motor vehicles. The owners and mechanics at Spotlight are patient and reasonable. I never feel like they are pushing services I do not need. Their service is prompt and professional, but they also are laid back, friendly, and make me feel comfortable. Highly recommend.

Honest oil change at a good price

I scheduled for an oil change and dropped off right when they opened. They said it would take 2 hours but it took 3 follow up calls after 4pm to hear back from them. When I picked up the car, they ran my credit card but never issued me an invoice or receipt. They said theyd e-mail it to me. Its been 3 weeks and they literally wont return my calls. It now makes me question if this place even changed my oil! I will never use these guys again and I would caution anyone that does. Im shocked on how they have good reviews, my experience was awful!

Friendliest service! I called about a noise my car was making and possibly needing a tune up on an early Friday afternoon. I mentioned needing my car for the weekend but they recommended to stop in to make sure it was safe to drive. I arrived and realized.. oh, this is a luxury vehicle mechanic and I drive a Chevy.....I debated turning around lol but the owner didnt seem bothered or annoyed by this at all (I was embarrassed as you can imagine). The mechanics were also very friendly! They checked my car out for about 20 minutes, lifted it up, found the issue making the noise (simple fix of taking a piece of old metal off) and even filled my tires which were low! They also mentioned to be mindful to change my breaks in the next few months. Seriously, everybody at the shop was so friendly, helpful in explaining the concerns with my car, and didnt care I wasnt driving a BMW. They didnt charge me anything to look at my car, or fill my tires either which I am really appreciative of. I would highly, highly recommend - very friendly and professional people.

This place is fantastic! I found them years ago while visiting Chicago and was so impressed with the level of service, this became my shop. I am a BMW enthusiast living in the Motor City and had spent years hunting for a great indy. It may seem extreme, but still I bring my vehicle to Spotlight. On my last visit to Chicago they handled several major repairs on my 2012 535xi as well as my wifes 2011 Taurus AWD Limited. Super service! VERY reasonable pricing... Most important -- I TRUST THEM!

Spotlight auto is amazing, I take my BMW to Spotlight instead of the dealership.Spotlight is honest and reliable.I have a few friends who take their cars to spotlight as well.I can’t recommend them enough!!I needed to get my summer tires (run flats) replaced for the winter, and they took time to talk to me about the different options and what they would recommend. They were able to get me appropriate tires where I wouldn’t need to change the wheels (dealership was saying I’d have to buy whole new set of tires and wheels). They ordered the tires for me and installed them.6 months later, I’m so happy to have gone with them and trusted them.

The guys who own this shop are great. I dont know a lot about cars, but they make sure I understand whats happening. I usually have a lot of questions and they happily answer all of them. I will only bring my car to Spotlight Automotive. I highly recommend this shop.

I am one of those people that I leave reviews only when I am very happy with the experience. This is definitely the case here as well. Just randomly picked that place because it was the closest and I needed a break light to be changed. After making sure they patiently explained to me that the ones I bought are not the ones I need to be changed they happen to have one in stock. Changed it in no time and charged me NOTHING! Wouldn’t even take a tip for cup of coffee or something. And I wanna make sure to mention that due to having hard time dealing with the heat in this city (jus recently moved), I wasn’t quite of a peach to deal with but they were great with me! I’ve been bringing my old 2001 Jetta to this place for the past couple of years. These guys here have always been great in telling me things straight, what I really need to replace versus trying to sell me on everything. But what really showed me how great they are is today, they worked over time on Christmas Eve to get my car fixed so I could still visit my family. I inconvenienced them and they were nothing but humble and willing to help me out. I so so so appreciated that. Please if you are looking for an outstanding place to take your car that’s affordable check this place out! You won’t regret it.

Fantastic service. Ketan and his team were professional, prompt, and very easy to work in servicing our GLK. They used all OEM supplies, performed our Service A and transmission service as great as any dealer would at a very reasonable price. Each time, both Ravi and Ketan, went above and beyond to ensure the work was completed efficiently, with accuracy, within the quoted timeframe. Most importantly, they are honest and will not recommend unnecessary tests - which has not been my experience with other shops. Ravi and Ketan are the best guys in Chicago - Mercedes Chicago (Fletcher Jones) are so dishonest and expensive - for example, recommending an entirely new set of spark plugs when Spotlight had replaced them all just six weeks prior. They are way cheaper and friendlier. And as honest as the day is long. For example didn’t recommend replacing an air filter on a regular service because they actually inspected it and determined it was still in great condition. Dealer would have replaced it and charged dealer prices.I’m on my second GL450 and it is still under warranty but choose to bring it here over any dealer.Enough said.

I have been going to spotlight auto for 5yrs now. They are the most honest, reliable, and genuine mechanics you will find in the Windy City. They treat you just like family and will always get the problem resolved. I have been hit with issues with my Mercedes and they have always showed up and taken great care of my vehicle. I highly recommend them to anybody looking for a honest mechanic.

The staff is amazing and Caden was a huge help! I simply had a flat tire and needed to borrow a jack but Caden told me don’t worry about it and they replaced it with my donut for me! Didn’t even need any work done but they still took care of me!

Spotlight Automotive really helped me out in a jam! I was in Chicago on business and needed to repair my car after hearing a horrible sound during my drive into town. The cool thing was I called the shop in the morning and Kevin, the owner, assured me that he could complete the work by the end of the day. Once the car was inspected I learned that my drive shaft and rear brakes needed to be replaced. I was a bit worried because it was a costly repair and a lot of work to complete on short notice. Kevin kept his word and had the car ready by 5:30 pm. Kevin and his team did a great job and saved me money as well. If your Volvo is out of warranty and you need work done (minor or major) go to Spotlight. They do honest, good repair work. Thanks Kevin!!

Spotlight saved me so much money! I took my 2004 BMW M3 to the dealer and received an insane estimate for brakes, rotors and a broken suspension spring. There was no way I could afford the thousands of dollars the dealer wanted for these repairs. I called Spotlight, they got me in right away and gave me an estimate that was half of what I had been quoted. They gave me a free loaner until my repairs were finished and I was very pleased with their service!

I used Spotlight exclusively for my BMW 500 series car and always had a good experience until recently. I needed a major part for my vehicle and Spotlight told me they would get it for me at a certain price that was well below BMW dealership. Not only did he not get it for a lower price, he didnt get it at all. I stopped into the shop two more times after that asking for an update with a promise they would take care of it. After waiting 4 months (yes, 4 MONTHS!), I went elsewhere and was taken care of immediately. Still havent heard back from Spotlight. Needless to say, I will be bringing my vehicle to that other place for now on.

I dropped my x5 truck off for service at 8am, no calls until I called them back at 530 pm since they close at 6pm.. when I called to check on the vehicle the phone rep answered with a curt, disrespectful tone. poor customer service. found that was is wife, as if I care), but obviously his wife didnt like me for whatever reason, based on that one phone call!! I was then told to come pick up my car and they didnt want my business//. Im black so I walk away feeling I had just encountered racism, or other discrimination.. I just wanted to know the progress.. which by the way was no progress.my vehicle hadnt even been touched.When I drove off, I got around the corner and my car stalled.Instead, look at Fulton, Desplaines truck garage, import specialist around the corner where my truck stalled. Theyre more reasonable. and you dont have to have these people play with your time and vehicle, promising work they dont do, until the guys wife gets involved bcz once she is involved, she can screw up what goes on in the garage..

Very bad service took my Range Rover in two weeks later problem still exists technician didnt want to fix or troubleshoot problem even after I was told before I brought it in there they would fix it after two weeks and me going into the shop several times I was told they no longer wanted to fix troubleshoot my issue with my vehicle was given a price to troubleshoot when I said okay do the work they refused and said they did not want to they thought that the price that they gave me would be too high for them to do the work so I would decline service getting my vehicle back I noticed I had a dent along with a scratch in my door on the drivers side as well the wires that they cut crying to troubleshoot obviously didnt work no professionalism was taken in doing this I would not recommend this place
