We had a scraped up passenger side door that needed fixing, and Kraftsmen did a fantastic job. We got a quote right away when we first brought the car in, and it was a more than reasonable price. They were flexible with when we could bring it in for service and had it done within the timeframe we agreed upon. The car door came out looking great, and they even cleaned the whole car both inside and out; it looks better than it has in years! Everyone there was friendly, professional, and easy to work with. Kraftsmen were awesome! I got rear ended and needed to have my bumper replaced. Everyone I talked to was really nice and informative, Jon answered the phone initially and (I dont remember anyone elses names) but everyone was wonderful. They fixed everything up in a timely manner and kept me updated and sent me on my way. And my car has a beautiful new bumper and tailpipe now!

3 years ago, I brought my 1996 BMW M3 to these guys to repair some damage to the front-end, hood, and driver side fender from a minor accident. While there, I also decided to address some areas that were being damaged by corrosion (trunk, trunk floor, battery compartment, both rocker panels, and driver side quarter panel. Kraftsman repaired or replaced those areas appropriately (including cutting out the rust and welding new metal in the rockers panels, installing a new trunk, added metal to the trunk floor) and the repairs have held up after 3 years. While a complete restoration would be my dream, it would not be cost-effective for a 22 year old (at the time) car. John advised me on making repair decisions that would result in a car that looks nice and is still fun to drive. The repairs have held up and today, I still enjoy driving my 25 year old M3.John and Dan (the owners) were a pleasure to deal with and I will be going back to them with all auto body work needs.

I got hit by a parking gate due to some bad sensors and my rear passenger side door had some deep scratches in it. Kraftsmen had 5 star reviews and gave me the lowest quote so I figured why not. I couldnt be more impressed with John, Dan and their employees. Throughout the process, they were very informative and knowledgable but listened to my concerns/thoughts. They were clear in the work they would be doing and stayed true to the quote.After picking up my vehicle, I noticed a faint cloudiness to it you could only see in certain light. I felt crazy seeing it but decided to take it back. They were immediately in agreement with me and said they could fix it within 10 min (and they did). It now looks amazing and Im really impressed with the work they did.They never made me feel stupid or like I was wasting their time. They were respectful throughout and are very genuine in their work and want you to feel satisfied driving off the lot. Im extremely happy I went to Kraftsmen and would recommend it to anyone!

GREAT customer service and even better quality work. I recently purchased a brand new 2017 Jeep Grand Cherokee and I was rear ended. This car being my baby I was absolutely devastated from the accident because I take care of this car as if it was my child. Ofcourse, I wanted the best body shop in Chicago to be fixed. I went to a couple different body shops to have it looked at and out of the 3 I went to, all they did was take pictures, they didnt seem to care much, they didnt touch the car or look under the bumper. John and Don at Kraftsmen are THE best in the business and I now know not to trust my car with anyone else in the city. Not only did they help me in replacing my drivers side mirror when it got smashed off on the street last year BUT they also helped me to re-seal it almost a year later when it got hit again! They totally didnt have to do that for free but absolutely helped me out. I also had asked them for advice on a recent repair job I had done on my engine and they took the time to open the hood, they looked over my charges, and gave me their best advice. Honestly, this is just the kind of men that they are and its no wonder theyve been in business for 41 years. Amazing service! They were extremely flexible with me on hours, as I work far and it is difficult for me to get to the shop during their hours, and were more than happy to help me. They also worked with my insurance company to get me more coverage to fully repair my car, even when my insurance company originally wouldnt. I was in an accident and Kraftsmen was more than helpful! I was going out of town for 2 weeks the day after the accident. Kraftsmen reassured me that they would take care of everything while I was gone. When I had my car towed to the shop and was trying to figure out what to do, John (one of the owners) sat down with me and talked me through what to do and what to expect after the insurance adjuster came out. I was able to call and speak to both owners whenever I had a concern. My car was taken from the body shop by the insurance company and Kraftsmen got all of my belongings out of my car and held on to them for over a week for me. They were very helpful and polite. I would 100% recommend them to anyone and will be going back for future business.

I LOVE Kraftsmen because it all started with an unfortunate accident. The tow truck driver was personable and awesome and cared about my well being at 2am. My car went to them and I received a call from Dan who was super cool and honest about it all. They stayed in touch with me, let me know what was wrong with my car and didnt sugar coat it. They work for YOU not THE INSURANCE company. My car was almost declared as totaled and they stepped in and spoke for me and did all they could to have my car working and running just as it did before. And to this day I cant tell I had a major front end accident. I had a great experience here. I came in because I had a light out, but while my car was in the shop, the owners took the time to look over everything over, including checking the brakes when they noticed a warning light was on. They promptly called me when my car was ready, walked me through what they did, and charged what I felt was a fair, honest price.I was very weary to do any car repairs in the city, but this place has put me at ease. These guys never made me feel like I was asking a stupid question - Greatly appreciated! Ill definitely be bringing my car back the next time it needs a tune up.

I took my car here after reading other reviews. I called and spoke to Dan regarding my needs (needed to have side mirror replaced). He had the part at the shop in under 24 hrs, and about 50 dollars cheaper than I had anticipated. Dan and co were courteous, professional, and pleasant to deal with. They were done in under 20 min. I can safely say that I will be taking my vehicle here for any future problems.

I have had nothing but great experiences with Kraftsmen Auto Rebuilders. My father-in-law referred me to them over three years ago after a major collision. They did a fantastic job repairing the car, were friendly and professional to talk to, and were very helpful in dealing with the insurance company. Since that major accident I have been back for other small repairs. The dealership wouldnt fix a windshield problem (a year after the accident) claiming the accident was the reason for the default. Kraftsmen took care of it for a small charge. After a parking lot fender bender, the paint from our front bumper started chipping off. The guys at Kraftsmen noticed the chipped paint when I brought it in for the windshields, took responsibility for it and told me to bring it when I could so they could fix it. That was over two years ago. I finally brought it back today and they still stood by their offer. They completely replaced the bumper with a new one they ordered and painted to match. I was in and out in less than three hours. Oh yeah, and NO CHARGE for the bumper. I highly recommend this shop. They are the friendly, honest and fair mechanics/car guys you always hope to find.

Theyre down-to-earth individuals and made me feel like I could trust them with my car.Ive been having heating issues with my car for the past year and the place I normally take it to in the suburbs had replaced the Thermostat several times. When I took my car in, they immediately knew there was a bigger issue with my car. It ended up being a faulty Water Pump that needed to be replaced, which was causing my Thermostat to overwork. They saved me a bunch of money down the road by solving this bigger issue rather than simply fixing something that would have forced me to come back a couple months later!They truly went above and beyond my expectations and gave me a great price for all the work they did! Its stressful when you know something is wrong with you car, knowing its going to be expensive, and worried youre going to be insanely overcharged. But I can definitely say I felt the price was extremely fair (given that Ive been to multiple places to fix my car.)Throughout the process, they provided updates on my car and even suggested I come back next week to make sure everything is working in my car at no charge! This local business deserves all of the positive reviews, and I will definitely be going back!

John and Dan are experts and do the job right. They took the time to explain clearly what needed to be done and the options I had. They are very honest, straightforward and I never get any unpleasant surprises. Highly recommended!

My car got broken into on a Thursday night, and Friday night I was leaving for a wedding. Needed my window fixed asap and cheap bc insurance wasnt gonna cover it. These guys had it done in exactly the time it took me to walk to the bank and back! They dont accept credit cards, but its not a problem. Really nice guys that do really fast, really affordable, quality work.

These guys are honest and don’t overcharge. I went to Midas for an oil change and came here after for some repairs. They found that Midas left the oil cap off and there was oil splattering all over my car. He fixed the problem and sent my car back better than ever. He even put some paint on some rust spots on my car as a favor. They’re the best. Highly recommend

Fantastic servicemen at Kraftsmen Auto Rebuilders. I had to bring my car in for some front bumper damage. I was driving across the city in rush hour traffic and they kindly stayed open a few extra minutes after their normal closing hour to give me an estimate on my damage. They were honest about the damage that my car had sustained, which was not much, and fixed it for free on the spot in 5 minutes. I really appreciated how upfront they were. thats not always easy to find.

This is a great place to come to get body work done on your car, very friendly and honest guys, they painted a side panel on my Audi that was scratched and now it looks like it was never damaged in the first place. Would definitely recommend coming here!

I only wished I had taken some before photos to show the damage to the car and the great job they did in fixing it.I was extremely pleased with the service and work from John and Dan at Kraftsmen. I went to several other body shops in the area before choosing these guys.Being that this was the first time I had to take my car to a body shop for repairs, they gave me great advice in dealing with my insurance company, which definitely helped. They also went the extra mile in taking care of some other minor dings and scratches during the process. And to top it off, my car come back fully detailed, including the engine.I would recommend Kraftsmen to anyone in need of repairing damage to their vehicle.Great guys to work with!

I was referred to Kraftsmen by two very close friends that have had work done through them and I cant wait to spread the word as well! These GUYS are awesome! My car looks better than it has in about two years. They went well above and beyond rebuilding my VW after it was hit while parked and took the time to do it correctly. These guys saved me big time. My car was hit by a Geico customer, and the first adjustor that came out seriously low-balled the damage. These guys worked it out and got everything I needed fixed, took care of everything, made it super-easy, communicated throughout, fixed my car really fast, and were generally nice people. Highly recommended.
