Damen Auto did an amazing job fixing my 2007 Honda Civic. When I picked up my 10 year-old car from the shop, I couldn’t believe my eyes. It looked absolutely brand new and completely gorgeous. I couldnt be happier. All the scratches were buffed out and my extremely dinged-up bumpers from city living were completely erased and looks as if it were new. The paint color matches perfectly and all imperfections were fixed. Harry, the store manager, is wonderful and very personable. He is helpful with any questions or concerns that I had. For amazing service and reasonable body shop rates in Chicago, this is the shop to go to. The turnaround time was very quick and the quality is second to none. I have never posted a negative review but this was significant enough to warrant a warning to others as Damen Auto is clearly cheating customers - Short Version - Damen Auto charged me for installing factory installed brakes and rotors (as agreed upon); when the dealership took apart the brakes 4 weeks later, they found aftermarket parts were installed instead of factory authorized (cheaper parts). Who knows how many customers have been cheated this way - Had dealership never taken apart the brakes I guess I never would have known and Damen Auto would have gotten away with yet another cheating scheme.Longer version - I spoke to Harry at Damen Auto in early June about replacing the brake pads/rotors on my Audi. His rates were competitive with other shops and he was incredibly nice on the phone so I went out of my way to get the car to him (even if it meant being late for work). HUGE Mistake.When we talked about what had to be replaced, Harry was very clear I never put aftermarket on an Audi...its gotta be factory parts bro - which is exactly what I wanted and was willing to pay more for Factory Authorized.He finished the job; I paid and left - I was happy to have saved a few hundred $ vs going to the dealership.A few weeks later, my brake light went on again - was odd - I took the car into the dealership and my brake sensors were damaged (not clear if it was related to Damen Autos install). But in the process of replacing the brake sensors, the dealership tells me that I have aftermarket pads and rotors on in the rear! Obviously shocked to hear the news, I asked them to double and triple check. They were very clear - IT IS DEFINITELY Aftermarket parts installed on the rear brake pads and rotors.Unfortunate instance...I called Harry back to address the issue and his response No way man...no way...only authorized parts for Audi...Do not be fooled; Do not be swindled; There are a million other shops - take your business elsewhere.

Harry got me in last minute when no one else in the city would ! They really helped me and were super amazing. Honestly can’t thank them enough for keeping me at ease, and actually having great customer service when no one else did ! Actual life savors !

I took my Hyundai Elantra there for body repair and reprint and I am so satisfied with their service. Harry, the owner, is so nice, helpful and fair. Other than the quality of service, the most important thing for me is the promptness which they did great on that. I got back my car after two days which was so great. Quality-wise, they did a great job on the car. So, if you are looking for a professional job with a fair price, do not waste your time searching and calling, they are among the best. I will definitely recommend them to my friends and family.

Harry is a champ! These guys are the best. I had received quotes form other body shops, but these guys came in the lowest and did a top notch job. I also had them take a look at the exhaust which he fixed as well. I did have to wait for about 30-45 minutes the day I came to pick it up, but they had detailed the car for me in addition. Id recommend Harry and the guys at Damen Auto Repairs to any of my friends and family. Any future issues with my car and Ill be going straight back there.

This place is awesome.I had a rumble in my car that was worsening everyday. I went to a dealer which claimed it was the water pump. A few hundred dollars later, I had the same problem. Being very wary and desperate to get this problem fixed, I dropped by car off at Damen Auto. Ian was an awesome, personable, and helpful guy that got to the root of the problem. Being extra wary, I insisted they check it after and make sure it was fixed. Just drove it around and am happy to say it is fixed at a fair price.This place is my new go-to and I am for sure telling all my colleagues at my hospital about this place. Other auto repair shops I called had a long wait list that were up to a week! Luckily, I called to schedule an appointment for my oil leaks on a Friday and they were able to see my car the moment I stopped in. They diagnosed my car within 10 minutes and gave me a quote. I had to pick my car up the next day. The staff was professional and kind, unlike some places that can speak to women in a condescending manner. I appreciate their promptness and attention to detail.

They fixed main seal for a good price but broke my exhaust and said they didnt do it. My exhaust has gotten done the week before and now I have to pay 300 dollars because the crushed my mufflers pulling up on the lift

Harry at Damen Auto Repair gave me amazing service and the best deal. My car was hit and run while I was at work, taking off my bumper and scratching the whole passenger side of my car including a lot of damage to my door handles. They fixed all of it and did a lot of the service for free. That included repairs but also cleaning my car inside and out. It looked brand new when I picked it up... I wont go anywhere else and neither should you.

I have been here several times. I have an older car. They help me keep it running safely. They dont rip you off, and they dont try to upsell you. Once I had an electric problem that turned out to be just a $20 fix. They could have charged me a lot more and made up problems that didnt exist, but they took the high road. Ill continue to go there.

My husband and I had a flat tire on Monday which was an absolutely freezing day and it seemed to be one thing after another. We were told to go to Damen Auto Repairs and Body Shop and did so. We arrived late in the evening, and asked them to repair our tire, jumping ahead of any other work they needed to get done in order to go home at a decent time that night. They saw the desperation on my face and put everything aside to help us. During this time, they were extremely welcoming and accommodating, not making us feel as though we were a burden coming in that late. They were all super sweet and helpful to us. My husband and I are both skeptical of car repair places in general, but from this experience, we know we can trust and rely on Damen Auto Repairs to be honest and welcoming. We highly recommend them and will be bringing all future services to them with no hesitation.

I live right around the corner and I took my car into this shop for a basic oil change. When I came back to pick up the car, the shop manager told me that I needed to change my timing belt and water pump. I then asked what is wrong with the belt and water pump and they said that since I never changed the belt that it would snap soon and damaged the engine and that water pump is part of the service. Funny thing is that I changed the belt and pump at the dealership about 2 or 3 months ago... If your a woman, be careful with this shop. They will try to over charge you for any work you go in for. Enough Said.

One of most underrated auto repair shop, grear customer service, easonable price as well my fender and bumper had major damage, it came out perfect, just like nothing happen, body work and paint job was really good close to factory finished ask for Ron.

Called this shop on a Sunday afternoon and told them I needed my car towed from a parking lot and gave them the main problem I was having with the car (ignotion switch was most likely dead). After I gave them the address, it was completely taken care of. Leo called me first thing Monday morning and told me what the price would be to get my car working again. Price seemed reasonable to me so I told them to go ahead. They called back a few hours later and my car was ready to go. I paid and picked my car up from a nearby street.The problem I had this weekend was a minor one, but they have earned my trust in fixing any major problems I have down the road. Good on you Leo.

Harry the Greek is a fantastic business owner and member of the Bucktown community. I had been having some serious strut noise issues with my Passat. I had a national chain take a look at it and tell me theres nothing wrong with it. I then had the VW dealer take look at it, replace the strut mounts, and it did not fix the issue. The VW dealer assured me it was fixed and the noise was just because it was cold outside. One morning the issue got so bad I didnt think the car was safe to drive. I brought it down the street to Harry, he put the car up, inspected everything, found the root cause of the noise, and formulated a plan to resolve my issue. Any auto needs you have, bring them to Harry and his team! I dont know much about cars, and Harry took the time to bring me back in the shop, show me the issue, and lay out all my options.

This was the worst experience Ive ever had the owner is the worst person I’ve ever met !! I am writing this in rage ! The way he treats and belittles people is unbelievable ! This man called me a “dumbass” never in any retail place have I been called out of my name this is soo disrespectful There are many places out here that will not disrespect there customer no matter how dumb they think they are!
