I found out theres H Mart close to where we were staying the day we were leaving Chicago. I really couldve used it if I knew. Its much smaller than other locations weve been to but they have the same essential items and a small food court, too. I just wanted to check out ready-to-eat food and got some. They charge for a plastic bag (charged at a pharmacy, too) and I like the idea of protecting the enviroment.
I had been a loyal customer to this Hmart for more than 2 years. However, a recent experience turned me away from it forever.I purchased this 4-in-1 pack white peach that packed up-side-down to showcase their nice-look and beauty. Later at home, I found all peaches are dented on the side facing down. Even worse, all peaches are rotten and not eatable (probably due to the dents).Nice job selling the Lemon Peach Hmart! Good bye and good luck with your business
Really nice chain of Groceries in the US. You’ll find majority of Asian products. In some areas you’ll find Indian Aisles too. They have live seafood and other seafood options like dried fish, steaks. Nice meat section as well.Loved to collection of Asian wines and beers. There are food counters after checkout and there’s a Paris Baguette Bakery. Try their pastries and cakes. They’re delicious.
Big place with a lot of Korean and Asian goods. They also have a place that sells fresh fish, sushi, bakery, etc. They also sell a lot of Korean (cosmetic) face masks. I bought a bunch of $0.99 masks. Customer service was also good. A couple different employees helped me to check the price of a few items.
Ahhh is H mart heaven on earth? Maybe, I think so! I love this place for all things Asian. And when I say Asian, I do mean a WIDE range of goodies from various parts of Asia, not just one country. And that’s what makes H mart so special. My favorite thing (ofc) is buying fresh sushi grade fish to make sushi at home. Another outstanding thing is the fresh, seasonal, and varied fruits that are available that you won’t find anywhere else!
Good location for the Asian people like me to get some genuine Asian food/ingredients.And I found recently, that in store-bakery Paris Baguette was newly opened!I’ve been liked this bakery cafe since I lived in NY several years ago! So I bought popular coffee bun. They have small parking lot, which is also good.
Really cool place. Its fun to walk around and found new stuff to try. Its branded as a Korean store, but you can find food from other Asian countries. Fruit and vegetables sometimes doesnt look best. I tried to get a bag of onions, but most of them looked moldy. Lots of fish, for those who are interested. Ramen and noodles galore. Just really cool stuff that you wouldnt be able to find anywhere else.
Come here every once in a while to go grocery shopping. There’s a decent size parking lot in here and often it feels like you gotta squeeze in here. Parking is super tight and I don’t really like that. There’s also a cafe / bakery in there and food in there too. So it’s pretty nice that you get a ton of variety.
Love this Asian market in the heart of downtown. It Carries everything your looking for and they a small food court and bakery . The food court has sushi, Korean bbq, and Asian street food which is A-MA-ZING! They a huge variety of sea food and seasoned meats. Wish they had a few more throughout the city.
H Mart has a wide variety of Asian products (e.g. Thai, Chinese, Taiwanese, Japanese and Korean sauces), high quality produces (e.g. veggie, fruits), meat (e.g. wagyu, pork ribs), seafood (e.g. sashimi-level raw fish), frozen food (e.g. bao, dumplings, prepared food), snacks, etc. The place is clean and bright - can be pretty cold sometimes, so I always bring a light jacket/coat just in case. The food court is small but good. Recommend the Korean BBQ ribs and bentos!
Greatest market Ive ever been to. Reasonable prices, exotic groceries, and the restaurant should get a Michelin star with how good the wings and Ramen are. I couldnt recommend any more highly!
Nice to have an H Mart in the city of Chicago. Once inside, the layout is a little cramped but it has many types of food. Good for Japanese as well as Korean food. They also have a small food court, a bakery, and a small parking lot. Was pleasantly surprised to see how much they corks could offer in only one grocery.
My entire Family loves Asian foods. Its nearly impossible to get BOTH quality ingredients, and meaningful selection. Finally tried this Hmart; still pinching myself. Its Amazing! Only time and budget constraints, prevent my moving in.Youll find drool-worthy items for everyone: Sushi-grade Tuna, Live Crabs, Glistening Fish, Wagyu. For dessert... anything from Bubble tea, Rice buns or Dragon fruit. Make it a personal challenge... see how long it takes to get lost in the aisles. Thanks, way to go HMart!...
I love hmart! One of my favorite grocery stores. I could literally, easily, spend so much time & money here. I do think it’s obviously a little pricier than the other hmarts in the suburbs but still amazing. Their food court is pretty good too!
H Mart Chicago is a notable Clean grocery store that offer Korean market. Asian produce is showcased as you walk in and I love e fine mist that drapes over the fruits and veggies. This leads you to the seafood for shellfish and fish with live tanks as well. Don’t miss the small Korean retail items products that line some of the isles. Last the food court is small but offers a quick bite to eat.
Wonderful grocery store with a wife variety of products and cuisine. The store was a little difficult to find but well worth the effort. The produce is very fresh and their selection of meats and fish is great. I had a fun time exploring their wide variety of products and foods. I would highly recommend checking out their fish selection as you can buy it as fresh as it gets. Definitely worth stopping by if you are in the area.
I will always love the wide variety of selection that Hmart carries. I know I can find any authentic Asian ingredients I need for my recipes. I will say though, that the customer service in general is severely lacking. The workers there are literally bodies with hands and feet. They don’t really have any interpersonal or customer service skills. They will literally check you out without ever even saying hi or acknowledging you. I don’t expect much in regards to customer service in a grocery store but it’s almost as if the workers are dead inside with nothing left to say 😂
Really good variety of foods, sweets, and drinks. Best place to go to find authentic Asian food, cooking utensils and alcoholic drinks.
Im a huge fan of Super H-Mart in the burbs and was VERY pleasantly surprised to see how well they utilized the space to bring a little of everything right here to the West Loop! Great selection of fresh produce, seafood and ready to eat items. My favorite part was the pre-marinated meats set up salad bar style that could be purchased by the pound. What a great idea! They even managed incorporate a small food court and bakery. Plus, theres free parking on site. Grab your H-Mart rewards card, its time to go shopping!
👍They have Korean Chicken store inside the Hmart. Which is called ToreOre originally from South Korea. Whole chicken is $24.99 and it’s really GOD DAMN delicious. (Popeyes is rubber in front of this chicken) It’s the Korean sweet spicy that you never know until you actually try. It’s normally working really well with beer. So order the whole chicken before you go grocery shopping so you save your time for the perfectly amazing Korean flavor. (It normally takes 20 minutes to be ready)
Smaller than the mega H mart in the suburbs, but they have a good representation of stuff. The food court here is also great!
Great selection, clean, and good service. Prices are reasonable. Its a good idea to eat at one of the restaurants inside before you shop, so you dont shop hungry.
Great quality and selection at products, very affordable and clean as well. Definitely a great place for any Asian food/drink needs
Love this place! Delicious fresh fruits & veggies of great quality. Many imported products from Asia that are too fun to try and high quality as well. Youll find new favorites here of everything!
H Mart has great stock with a wide variety. The produce is fresh and the meat is good quality. I have never had an issue there. The staff is friendly and helpful when you ask questions. I absolutely recommend trying the restaurants inside as well.
Pro tip: Get the HMart membership for 1% cash back and the fintech bank C;heese (Use code CHEVOZ7D) for additional 2% back. I’ve been saving 3% combined and it racks up fast
In my opinion this place is really only for those that speak Chinese. I thought Id try something new! Actually I didnt know what anything was from the looks of things. They dont have anything in English language. And when you ask an employee for help, oddly they dont speak English nither. But I guess it could be a good experience if only you spoke the language.
Yummy place and lots of fun! I walk here after work to pick up desserts and some groceries if I need. We eat sushi and such. The sushi wrap is delicious! Ive eaten at all the food stops in there and they all have delicious Korean cuisine. I highly recommend a stop in the cafe for fresh baked goods, especially if youre a macaroon fan.
Small version of the Super H Mart in Niles and Naperville. Great fresh meat, fish and veggies and loads of Asian brands.
Great place for Asian groceries. Fresh fish available (including sushi quality fish and poke). Produce is usually a bit more pricy (think Whole Foods range) some things will occasionally go on sale. Parking is a plus
Great selection grocery store. However the Izakata yume cafe is the worst! $15 soggy flavorless ramen. They want $1 for just a side of hot sauce. The ramen is literally been soaking in water for ages. Super disappointed.
Clean, organized, and safe. Helpful staff. Thank You!
Lovely korean foodmart with amazing options and choice is korean vegetables and packaged foods.
I enjoyed shopping at the downtown H Mart. It has a variety of items for people who have dietary needs, such as vegetarian, gluten free, dairy free, etc. The store has affordable grocery items and kitchen supplies. The store only accepts debit or credit card payments. I would recommend a visit before noon on the weekends since it can get crowded in the evening.
They have Nishiki rice and this is the only place that has my ramen, spicy miso for a great price. They also have restaurants inside which has been amazing and they are super convenient.
Clean, well stocked and variety of oriental and American ready to cook and consumable food and nik-nak items for families of all sizes and ethnicities.Ready to eat snacks are add-on attractions 👏🤸♂️🤸♀️✌SCKH
Love h-mart. Great ingredients and restaurants available inside.
Durring Covid this place created many precaution measurements and it feels very safe to shop there. Some of the food shops inside are now open.Nice mart. The aisle are not very wide and it can get very crowded. If you are having a hard time looking for something, most employees can help you find what you are looking for (there is information area as well).
Needs more hotpot stuff. Some halal thinly sliced meat would be amazing.
Clean. Wonderful produce. Nice fish and beef. Good prices. Free parking.
Great place to shop if you looking for something unusual great sake selection, fresh fruit n vegs2 hot restaurants serving Korean dishes, very clean, organized n the staff are very helpful.😊
H Mart is a great store if you love Korean products. It is a bit expensive but worth it. For the k drama lovers, you would find a lot of the snacks/food advertised in the k dramas!
Good selection but small aisles and the cashier couldn’t tell me what the H stands for which I feel like every employee should know
Good local atmosphere. Went here for dinner. Lots of choice and really good authentic food market. Rough and ready place with a good mix of traditional Mexican stands, burgers, craft beers and even gourmet peanut butter and jelly sandwiches!
Clean well stocked and people eager to help. They are kind of high on prices.
One of the best Asian grocery stores Ive ever been to. They really know how to handle themselves and everything seems to run like a well oiled machine. I usually go on the weekends but they usually have free samples of all types for people to try as well. They also have 3 restaurants and a bakery area. I placed some pictures of the restaurants and what the shopping center looks like.
Great selection of unique items! And their food court is amazing!
Wonderful shopping experience. The staff was super helpful and helped me find several products. Nice selection of products and prices.
I knocked off a star for the more recent choice to pre pack quantities of veggies like baby bok Choi. The world doesnt need the plastic and I dont need a pound of greens. Otherwise as far as I can tell this location has almost everything the Niles store offers, but much closer to home.
Large selection of mostly Korean food and ingredients. Was able to find everything I was looking for and much much more than I was expecting to find. Hopefully next time I can try the restaurant food, but the staff went on lunch break right when I was planning on ordering.
Fresh seafood and all my korean/Japanese ingredients in one place. Thank you Hmart
This Oriental Market is a neat little gem full of a variety of fruits, veggies, sauces, noodles, etc. from a variety of locations. If your into cooking your own oriental food this place has everything your looking for. The shelves are always stocked and everything tastes very fresh. The prices are fair and often they have a variety of the same item at various price levels and sizes.
Have only gone once and already love it. Would like to explore more of its products soon !
I really appreciate the fact that theres a great Asian grocery store in downtown. I love H Mart. They always have interesting stuff and food samples that I get to experience and enjoy. My husband and I love coming here. One time we saw a giant tuna (200 lbs+) being sliced and bought some to make nigiri and that fish was so fresh like it jumped off the ocean and landed in H Mart lol They have a variety of meat options. Very interesting and such a great Asian grocery store. Check them out!
They have almost everything you can think of. Some of it cost more, but some of it is the deal of a lifetime. And the seafood is so fresh, the staff is friendly and helpful.
Cant wait to come back!
New store for Northeast Asian food (Chinese, Korean and Japanese) located practically downtown. It fills the need of a comprehensive Asian grocery store downtown. The selection of food items is excellent. The fresh or live seafood is particularly outdtanding. There are usually many stations with free samples of promotional items. The only negative is that the isles are narrow and they can be congested. Things are on the pricey side but you pay for the convenience. There are also restaurants and a bakery on the premise.
Wonderful place! This place is a treasure. Fresh produce, variety of so many things. They got everything you need to make your asian and american foods delicious. The workers there are always so nice and helpful!!!
Nice selection of Asian grocery items. Some items are a bit pricey. I buy my kelp noodles here. I dont like the fact that there are many items without price tags on it and that they do not accept cash. A greeting from an employee is few and far between even when they are standing right near you.
H Mart has a good selection of mostly Asian foods. Fresh meat, seafood, and produce, fresh noodles, prepared foods, a huge selection of kimchi, many types of rice, oils, sauces, everything you need to create an Asian feast. They also have some Western/American foods, but these tend to be expensive for the most part. I have been pleased with most of the food I have purchased at H Mart, although some things do not have instructions in English so I guess on how to prepare those items. The store is a bit cramped in the aisles, so I try to visit at less busy times.
This is one of my favorite stores, they have a lot of items for how small it is. They are an Asian inspired supermarket that sells all kinds of Asian foods, fish marinated meats, and even things like pans and dishware. Only downside is parking can be hard to find at peak hours.
The three stars are because it does not hold a a candle to its bigger brother in Niles. It is smaller, more crowded and more expensive than the H Mart in Niles, but still a good and convenient place for Asian fixings, if you happen to find yourself downtown Chicago
My favorite store. I love all the foods they have on offer there.
Excellent products
Good groceries store. Good food court
The locations is easy to find and access is easy from Kennedy. The atmosphere is friendly, clean, large variety, and the food is soooo fresh. There is an indoor restaurant, and bakery.
Very clean, organized, immersive grocery store. Have a great fresh food selection: seafood, meat, veggies. There is also a food court inside selling hot dishes and a bakery.
Great variety of products good prices and friendly service. Food court is also great! Parking can get tricky during peak hours as lot is small.
Products are fresh and various, love that place, there are also few food courts
Love this place!!! Has foods that I cant find in my city. Only problem is I had to use the paid parking and of course traffic is awful in Chicago.
An amazing grocery store. Delicious fresh food is made to order. If you have diverse cultural taste preferences this is your place.
Good place to get asian groceries in downtown. Really love this place. Also, the fish market inside have varities of fresh fish.
What an awesome store. Great selection and very clean and organized compared to a lot of Asian stores. The restaurant inside looked excellent too. Ill be back for lunch!!
I love h mart. I prefer the suburban location I go to just for the more humble aesthetic, but the city location is nice. Great selection of Asian groceries. Priced fairly.
This is my fist HMart outside of Los Angeles and was quite impressed. Very clean, compact, and enough items to cook your Korean meal. Not as much prepared food as I am used to and I think I missed the kimchi section, I couldnt find one ( I was in a hurry :-( )
H Mart is a great place to grab lunch in a weekday. They have 3 food court style store fronts that offer a wide range of foods. A good selection for vegetarian options as well. Theres also a well stocked bakery that offers traditional and modern goods. The grocery store side has extremely fresh and well priced produce and fresh meat options. Its a great place to find sauces and spices not typically found in local stores.
Easy to get too. Parking lot is small but get there early and wont be problem. Very clean
Great selection. It was my first time, and bought a lot of snacks and groceries that I had been craving for a while. Didnt disappoint me at all and delighted me actually.
