My family has been going here for many years. I live in Indiana now and still make a trip back to the Heights now and then for D&D sausage and imported lunch meat.
The Guido Sandwich. I could stop here and this review would be worth the 5 stars, but it wouldnt do justice to the variety of Italian specialties available at D&D, this family run grocery. I left with a Guido, thinly sliced salami, soppressata, mortadella, provolone, prosciutto and ham piled high between long slices of Marconi bread, gently kissed with Italian olive oil. I also got some house made mild sausage (bulk and rope), meatballs, imported Granoro pasta (orecchiette, gnocchi, and capellini), fresh pizza dough, and some great ingredients like passata, anchovy paste, and freshly grated parmigiano reggiano. I love this family owned and operated Italian specialty grocery store and I highly recommend a trip here.

This is my go-to Italian cheese and cured meats spot. The staff are wonderfully knowledgeable and happily guide you toward things you might like but havent heard of. The sampling is generous, and you can really nail down a delicious assortment of cold cuts or cheeses with their assistance. The prices are reasonable, and I know of nowhere else local that can compete. Highly recommended for the area. The area and outside have nothing to do with the offerings of that deli.
Authentic Italian deli!! This is the place do go if you are looking for Italian imported foods. Old world at its best! No automation here and only Italian. Nice rustic chunk of Marconi bread with some fontinella cheese and good olive oil. Throw in some marinated olives and its perfect. We are bringing it to relatives out of town. Not sure we can get through the car ride without eating some. 😜

Absolutely the best Italian grocery shop around. If you appreciate great quality cheeses, meats, olives, anything and everything Italian this place is a must stop! I always call ahead to order my Italian sausage... whole fennel is the best! Family run and owned by the nicest family, I love coming in to visit.

Counter staff offered us loads of free meet, cheese and relish samples. Find this place. Not a big, shiny building, but it is EXCELLENT. Bring cash... No credit cards.

Awesome...One of the good guys. This back in the day Italian shop is where your Dad used to go to get supplies for gravy (not sauce) and other in the know ingredients. They make their own sausage (a la Marchese) and provide service and conversation with a smile. Make sure to bring cash, or you will not find it easy to pay for what you want.
The ravioli is incredible and their homemade sauce will not disappoint! Love it!

D&D and the Damiani family deserve more than a 5 star rating. All are friendly knowledgeable and generous. Take your time and visit the entire store, youll be surprised at the inventory. A visit to D&D brings me back to a better time when a family owned neighborhood grocery was the best place to shop.
Deli meats and cheeses are combination of great domestic and imported Italian fare (puts store bought to shame), rest of store has all you need for other Italian cooking, as others have noted homemade sausage is outstanding, and they have great and personable service. Honestly after eating a sandwich with stuff from here vs. normal grocery store, its hard to enjoy eating normal grocery...your palate will be spoiled.
We LOVE this 60+ years old family-owned Italian food store! They have a little bit of everything Italian, we even bought dinner plates from them which we use every day! Great meats and sandwiches especially the Guido! They are so friendly there! A real treasure in Chicago Heights and Chicago South Suburbs!

What a great place to get Italian food products I bought there home made marinara sauce and the fresh Italian sausage which was to die for they made the sausage fresh while I waited I bought the hot brand bought their fresh graded parmasian cheese what a great dinner my family had too bad I could only give this place 5 stars its a 10 Im definitely going back because this place had so many other products cant wait to try more the staff was so friendly and incredibly knowledgeable

I always went here as a kid but forgot about it. I’ve also always had a craving for the savoia’s gravy also from the heights. My mom suggested I call here and see if they had that or cipriani’s. To my immense shock they had savoia’s t’go gravy!! It’s just as I remembered and delicious! I’ll be back to get more!
