Ive gotten 3 dresses and 2 pantsuits altered here and the quality is always top notch. The owner, Noor, is not only an expert at fixing clothes, but he is also one of the kindest people I know. He treats his customers like family and if you need something done quickly, he will do it for you. Noor does not disappoint!

I went to Expert Alterations after I had my pants poorly altered at a different store. The other store botched them and I couldnt fit my backside into the pants. The other store did such a bad job I refused to go back.So I tried Expert Alterations. The owner was able to look at me, my fit, and the pants and take care of the problem. He fixed everything the other store messed up.It was honestly a great experience. I had my pants fixed in less than 48 hours and they fit perfectly now. The price was cheap and the quality was great! I would recommend to anyone looking for alterations. Definitely will be coming back!

Went here for my dress for my brothers wedding and was so happy dealing with Noor. He got me in quick, understood exactly what I wanted and needed to be done, and finished the dress early. My dress fitted me perfectly and couldnt be happier with it. I wanted it tight, and he couldnt of made it more fitting. He also did my sisters dress and even though she had different concerns and wants, he did exactly what she imagined. We liked him and his work so much, we went back for my nephews suit vests. Hes personable, creative, fun, and his work is clean. Will definitely be going back to Noor!

Found this place online when I was in need of alternations to a pair of suit paints urgently. They did a an awesome job and I could pick up the pants a few hours later. Pricing was great, especially considering this was a same day request. Noor, the owner, is a really great guy and even offered to lend me a tux for free but I declined since I would have been overdressed for the occasion. Highly recommend this place and will definitely come back!

Noor is an expert and what he does and is absolutely charming! He has done dozens of alterations for our family including my daughters school uniforms and dance dresses, resizing trousers for my husband, very complicated alterations to ski pants with multiple layers. You will not be disappointed in your experience with Noor and his excellent work.

My favorite aunt passed away in 2002 and my uncle just recently gave me her custom made fur coat from the 60s. The shoulder area and collar was falling apart from being on the incorrect hanger for 20 years. This place had my coat finished in a week and now I get to wear it at my (future) wedding in her honor! Ive used Mr. Noors services a few times at this point, and Ive always been extremely happy with his work. I recently had to get some pants hemmed and a shirt altered to bring the sleeves in. The shirt looks perfect. He expertly adjusted the sleeves. I would highly recommend him if you need any work done.

Do not take your wedding dress here. Bought my dress a size too big, and asked him to take in and hem. My dress had a lot of lace and he didn’t remove any of it before altering so I had random pieces that didn’t look right, plus the dress still didn’t fit - it was falling off my body. It was a mermaid gown and it didn’t conform to my body at all. Hem was crooked, too short, and he cut into my train. Had to take it somewhere else and have them order new lace, actually have them fit it to me, and fix my bustle. He used cheap plastic buttons, was bustled in the wrong place, and my train was still on the ground. Plus very unprofessional comments about how I’m too young to be getting married, I look like a child, etc. (I’m 26). Very expensive mistake.

I did not use their services but a friend of mine whose native language is not English was degraded at the store just because of the language she speaks. I wont ever set my foot in that store. No need for intolerance in this day and age.

I have had several pairs of pants and a dress altered here. I am always happy with the results. He really is an EXPERT! And the customer service is wonderful...friendly and down-to earth owner. I will keep going here!

I have used Expert Alterations for several years for alteration needs. Noor is great! He does a great job and offers his services at a fair and reasonable price. He can also get things done quickly. Over the years he has altered probably around 40 articles of clothing for me. Prior to finding Expert Alternations, I had gone to a couple of different tailors and the quality was lacking. I have never been disappointed in anything Noor has done for me. He always remembers me too when I come in even if its been a while. You dont get that very often with any business. But he is genuinely always happy to see you. I would highly recommend Expert Alternations to anyone.

Absolutely amazing. With COVID my wedding dress arrived super late (a month before wedding) and every alteration place I called was booked up- but when I called here they were ready for me that same day! I got a delicate beaded belt attached to my dress that needed to be hand sewn on, my straps need to be tightened, I got a couple inches hemmed and a bustle for dancing. The dress looks stunning and the quality of work is outstanding! The owner was extremely friendly, professional, and provided wonderful service. I have used this tailor for many years and have found him to be very skillful and professional. If something can be repaired he will do it expertly and if it can not, he will tell you.

There is a very, very good reason that this tailor shop has the descriptor Expert in their title; their work is unbelievable, with an attention to detail that I havent experienced before. I had brought in a semi-formal Scottish jacket two weeks before a Burns Supper (a big event in St. Louis) and had wanted the jacket significantly altered. My vision was a cut-away style Montrose doublet, with formal tails. The owner discussed in detail what I was looking for, and provided a very reasonable price for the job (particularly considering I am an elementary school teacher on a budget). Needless to say- when I returned to pick up the jacket, his work had far surpassed my expectations. Not only had he expertly (theres that word again) cut away the jacket, but he had also magically let it out throughout the chest, moved the buttons, and countless other little tweaks that truly made the jacket fit. He smiled when I suggested that I might have lost weight, and did not give me the details of all he had done (over and above) until after Id paid him the original agreed upon amount. The jacket I have now is of the highest quality, and I received many, many compliments on it at the event. I could not be more pleased with the entire process, and would not consider another tailor for other work. Thank you for all your wonderful work! Today Wednesday, January 27,2021,I had an amazing experience.It was snowing heavily for the first time this season and I needed my pants hemmed so I called an alteration shop near me on the South side of St.Louis.Unfortunately the shop that I called wouldn’t complete the alterations til next week and I needed the pants by Saturday .She told me that she could complete the job for extra money.It’s strange how some businesses can complete small jobs for extra pay.I refused to be fleeced so I goggled other alterations shops and came upon Expert Alterations and Tuxedos.I called the shop and the man whom answered immediately stated,”As-salaam Alaikum”(A greeting of peace extended to all people).I’m a Muslim so I thought that I’d accidentally dialed a Muslim and the owner of the alterations shop thought that he identified my number as one of his close Muslim friend,which explains why his voice was so pleasant and comfortable when I called.I asked him if this was Expert Alterations?He replied “yes.I traveled 27 miles in the snow on highway 64 and observed several cars engaged in an accident or skidded off the road along the way.Thank God I arrived there and back home safely.The owner of the shop,Noor Chaudhry not only charged me a meager price of 14$ dollars,he completed the alterations in 30 minutes.And the alterations was expertly done.Before we parted he told me that in 35 years he had never experienced an accidental conversation as the one we had today.Both Muslim,one needing assistance and the other believing I was one of his friends.....Fortuitous,no!Allah is the Best of planners.I didn’t need to review the 5 stars his shop received, I experienced it..Another satisfied customer;William Noble Deen Walls

My wife had a formal ball gown that needed alterations. Noor did an exceptional job. Not only was the quality of work fantastic, he was also prompt, attentive, and so easy to work with. The dress had a very intricate design that was not easy to alter but not only was he able to make the dress fit perfectly, his alterations blended in seamlessly with the dress. Absolute Best! When it comes to tailors or tuxedos trust Expert Alterations. I have a Tommy Hilfiger coat that needed a repair that required reattaching the manufacturers clip to the waistband. Every other place either said it was too advanced or wanted me to let them send it off, leaving chance for my clip to become lost, which I did not trust. Expert Alterations was able to take it in immediately and finish it perfectly right on sight while I waited. The proprietor is very nice and shared some of his knowledge and experience. If your clothes are an investment and your special events important Expert Alterations is Perfect.

I had my wedding dress altered here and it was an AMAZING experience. My dress needed quite a few alterations (expanded waist, belt sewed in, built in bra, sewn on buttons, hemming, and more) and it was done so quick and looked great! Noor is not only amazing at what he does, but is also one of the most pleasant people Ive ever been around. He truly cares about the people he works with, so much so that he remember me and tons of details about my life and wedding even though I didnt see him for a couple months (I was awful about picking my dress up when it was done). I brought in a made to measure suit which needed a few alterations. Noor was fantastic. My suit is now perfect. I couldn’t recommend them more!

I brought 2 jackets in to be altered both of them had shoulder issues. One of the jackets was a sport coat made out of a jersey material. Another tailor had refused to work on the jacket (because of the material). Noor made my inexpensive jacket look like a $1,500 sport coat. I dont say this lightly as I have about 20 years experience in the clothing business(fine clothing I might add) and I was raised in the business. It did take him 2 tries to get it right but he was more concerned about doing a good job than the work involved. It is also worth noting that he works quickly and the jacket was initially ready before the promised date and he had completed the second alteration by original the promise date. I highly recommend him and intend to return.

Fantastic job! I brought in my sports coat to get the sleeves shortened. Expert Alterations quality was spot on. The sleeves looked the same or better than original. The length was perfect, the buttons were perfect, the speedy return was perfect, and the price was well within reason.

Wish I could rate no stars. My opinions his was a very bad, amateurish job altering a wedding dress. Holes in lace. Instead of properly adjusting shoulder straps merely folded over (where there was no seam) and basted loosely. Totally changed look and lie across shoulders. Built in cups consisted of a single stitch point so cups more free floating than supportive. Bustling was one loop stitch to go over cheap plastic button. He also lost the trim lace to go around bottom of dress after hemming then had audacity to say he must charge us more than quoted because was more work. When I questioned work he very condescendingly says “your mother worries too much”. His newly augmented fee for poor workmanship was $500. Complete rip-off. I paid price to get the dress liberated and took to a seamstress who carefully removed shoulder stitches, beautifully fitted the bodice and created wonderfully secure and beautiful bustle for about half the price. Expensive lesson.

Small shop, which can be good. I wanted something to rent from, but they didnt have things you could try on. But luckily they dont claim to do that in the first place. Alterations only.

Expert Alterations and Tuxedos is the best! I took in a brand new suit jacket that needed the sleeves shortened about 1-1/2 Unfortunately it had those fake button-holes that are stitched on with a machine, with about a thousand tiny stitches, per button-hole. Noor expressed concern about them, when I took it in, saying that he probably would not be able to remove them. I expected as much, and told him it would be fine. But, when I went back, to pick it up, he had removed them anyway. It was an extremely tedious job, cutting a thousand tiny stitches, from eight button-holes, with a razor blade, while being careful not to cut the material. He is incredibly conscientious and was not satisfied with anything less than a great finished product. I could not be more pleased! I offered to pay more for the extra effort, but he would not take it. He is very professional and a wonderfully gifted tailor. Ill definitely be back!

Great service. I lost some weight recently and Noor did a great job with the waist alterations of several of my work pants. He also added in some extra work for no charge. Very nice man, reasonably priced too.

My experiences (plural) have always been professional, informative, attentive, courteous, and prompt. I recommended to my associate whos husband lost 110 lbs and needed his leather jacket brought in. She said Noor did a masterful job. Her words, not mine.

Noor did an amazing job on a suit for a recent wedding and a sportcoat that my wife purchased for me a couple of years ago. He was able to adjust so many fine details of both pieces to make them fit perfectly. For example, going from a 46R regular fit to a 44R slim fit, can throw off the shoulder, arm, and chest alignments. I was able to describe the fit and style I wanted and Noor made all of the corrections. The end product was perfect! Thank you Noor!

Noor did a fabulous job with my wedding dress. I asked him to cut off the train of my dress completely as I didnt want to mess with a bustle, in addition to hemming it all the way around. My bottom of my dress is multiple layers of tulle and he did a great job lining everything up. The back of the dress looks like it was meant to be train-less! He is also incredibly sweet and such a joy to work with. His prices are very reasonable too. I was very anxious about alterations for my wedding dress but I am SO happy I chose Noor. I came here for alterations on my wedding dress after previously being turned away from another tailor in town (who told me there was nothing they could do to let the dress out, and the store I bought it from should rush order the next size up).Thankfully I came here for another opinion! The owner was so friendly, and was able to let out the problem areas of the dress, hem the length, and add the bustle all by the next visit. He understands that time is valuable when planning a wedding, so he stays open later on weekdays for people coming from work, and makes it his goal to accomplish all the tailoring by the next visit, rather than come back for multiple fittings.The dress fit PERFECT on my wedding day, and everyone thought it was custome made for me. Incredible Work! Took my bridesmaid dress here and it needed A LOT of work! I only had 3 weeks between the time I got the dress and the wedding, and the tailor was able to fix everything within 2 weeks. I got a fantastic deal and the dress looks amazing now! I only wish I could give more stars. I recently lost 60 lbs and had quite a few suites, jackets, pants and shirts that needed alterations. Noor is one of the nicest men I have ever met, he took the time to explain what he was going to do with each garment. One sport coat in particular was my favorite and he explained it was too big and he could not fix it, I explained that I really loved this jacket and to just make it as small as possible. Imagine my surprise when I picked it up and it fit like a glove. He explained that he had to open the whole jacket up and narrowed the blade. While this is usually $120 extra he did it for the price quoted. This man went above and beyond on everything. He now has a customer for life and anyone I meet that needs alterations I tell them about Expert Alterations. It is nice to meet someone who takes pride in their work and it shows.

What to do with a $700 suite with a small, but noticeable moth hole on the shoulder? I talked to the folks at Macys and Dillards and they told me a woman along Manchester used to do re-weaving, but retired and did not have an alternative. I searched for another solution. I came upon this tailor just be accident. Talked to him and he told me he could do the work with no problem, something he specializes in. I left the suit with extra materials from when it was altered, gave him a month and picked it up yesterday. UNBELIEVABLE! There is no presence of any sort of major reconstruction on the suit. It looks as good as it was the day I bought it. Added to the good work, the gentleman, his name is Noor, has excellent customer service skills. He is confident of his craftsmanship, proud of the work he does and puts his heart and soul into it. There might be others out there who do this work, but not many, and for that matter, once you find a guy like this, you stay doing business with him, a local small business dedicated to excellent work.

Noor is incredibly helpful and knowledgable! My wedding dress had an extremely long train and was going to be very complicated to bustle. He came up with a perfect solution! I didnt want to look like I had a tail or large gathering of skirt in the back. He created 5 small bustles so that the shape and design of my dress would not be compromised when bustled.

My first experience with Expert Alterations was having a jacket taken in at the sides. Ive now taken several jackets, pants and vests in for alteration. Ive been 100% satisfied every time. I recently had a jacket with extra fabric under the arms which I know is a tricky alteration. I felt comfortable taking it to EA and they didnt disappoint! I fully recommend them -- I always feel like they go above and beyond.

Had a leather jacket brought in to shorten the sleeves and tighten the cuffs. Got the jacket back the other day and it came out perfect. I was worried that the cuff would come out badly, but I was completely wrong. The stitching was exactly as it was before I brought it in, and the cuff felt exactly as it did before I got it altered, except that it fits now. The price was fair and I would definitely recommend to anybody that needs clothes altered.

The absolute best! We had a suit we had custom made from Brooks Brothers that fit horribly. We brought it to Noor and he did wonders!!!We also brought my fiancé’s wedding suits and he was able to get one of the suit altered in a week so we could get engagement photos done.I would recommend him to anyone!!

I really had little hope that my very large car club jacket could be altered. I had mistakenly ordereda very large jacket and did not want to return it because it had already been embroidered on the back with the name and insignia of the car club. The jackets sleeves were at least 4-5 inches long and the back, which was gathered, was extremely wide and was drooping plus the waist was too long. The jacket was also lined.When I went to pick it up, I could not believe the transformation!! The jacket was a perfect fit and now had a style which was not noticeable before the alterations. I now wear it proudly and could not be more thankful!!

I took my dress to expert alterations with high expectations and those expectations were more than met. When I came in to try on my newly tailored dress I was blown away. A couple weeks later I tried on my dress and even though the tailor did exactly what I asked I found myself very unhappy about how I looked in it. The next day I took it back in and asked him to make some complicated alterations. A week later I came back in to try my dress on again and I was blown away with the time and effort he put into making sure I was a happy customer. I am a very laid back person but when I have a vision I can become very particular and I would recommend expert alterations every single time!

Guess we got to him at the wrong time. He forgot about the dress when we went to pick it up two days before prom. He tried to make amends and fix it that day. We went back that evening and he had sewed material over embroidery and embellishments on the dress instead of tucking it under, telling me any professional would do it that way. Then when I pointed out that the dress was still pooling in the back and dragging on the ground, he told me it was elegant and that it was supposed to be a train and he wasnt going to change the dress. Why do you go in for alterations if they are not going to change the article of clothing to fit you beautifully? While he refunded all of our money, he was patronizing and arrogant. It was an awful situation and I have spent a good chunk of time trying to undo the work he did to get the dress back to the original state. Will NEVER go back. There are plenty of other tailors in the area that actually care about the clothes and their customers.

We brought in a sport jacket, a suit jacket, and a pair of slacks each for myself and my son, in need of alterations for upcoming weddings. He was extremely knowledgeable about how to best tailor our items to fit just right, but also did his best to NOT upsell us, and only offered the services we needed to get the best fit. Our items were ready well before our requested timeframe, and fit like a dream upon pick up! This shop is run by one of the nicest gentlemen I have ever met, and his services were affordable and spot-on. If you are looking for a phenomenal tailor, THIS IS YOUR GUY!

The gentleman working there is exceptional super friendly and easy going not difficult to find in the plaza .called up had kinda a last minute fix and he was more than happy to try and help.l, didnt laugh like another place I called .dropped off said come back in about an hour.bam! Done!

Thank you Mr. Noor! I brought my mothers 40+ year old suede coat with mink collar into Noor for evaluation. We agreed to take in the seams and the sleeves were too short but there wasnt enough material to lengthen them. While taking in the seams Mr. Noor found he had enough suede to use to lengthen the sleeves! He did it at additional time for him but no cost to me. Thank you Noor for making my moms coat usable and so special for me!!

Actually came in hoping to get me knee brace strap fixed and they got it done quick and easy. Very affordable too.

Noor was very polite, courteous and made options available to fix a dress. We decided that shoulder alterations looked the best, but had bead work around neckline that met at the shoulders. Results PERFECT...attention to detail, superb workmenship.

Noor makes magic happen with his fingers.I had the pleasure of working with Noor these past couple months on my wedding dress. My dress ending up being a size to big for me since I went with the recommendation of sizing from my bridal shop. My dress was not a simple dress either, it was very detailed with beading, lace, and delicate material. After multiple fitting and worrying that my dress would not fit me the way I imagined it, Noor ending up having to hand craft a couple parts in order to make it fit how I imagined. I was soooo happy with the results and I don’t think anyone could have made it fit better!! I highly recommend him, and fully trust him! If you have a delicate dress with lots of beading and lace he is your man!!

This was my first experience with Expert Alterations and Tuxedos --- I am so happy that we were able to find them. We had purchased a suit for my husband for my sons wedding just 3 weeks out. We didnt realize that finding the correct size for him in Big & Tall would be so challenging. We did find a beautiful suit that fit everywhere except the shoulders.....they were huge!! I did a google search and found Expert Alterations and Tuxedos....and contacted them immediately. Noor Chaudhry, the owner, was so helpful on the phone and assured me that he could get the alterations completed in time for the wedding. Noor did an EXCELLENT job taking in the shoulders on the suit jacket (which is not a simple task to say the least) and also took in the pants. We just picked up the finished suit last night.....and as Noor promised, my husband looks AWESOME in his suit!! The cost of the alterations was more than worth it.....as the suit now looks like it was custom tailored to my husband. SO happy with the results.....excellent, friendly and prompt service! You will be so pleased!!!

I recently brought my bridesmaid dress to get altered by Noor. I was a little nervous becuase Id procrastinated and was getting it altered only a couple weeks before the wedding. However, Noor was able to get it finished ahead of schedule without any issues. My dress also had a tricky hem and it needed to be shortened, but the only way to shorten it would be very expensive. I expressed that I was a teacher and didnt make much money and was stressing out about how much this would cost, he kindly said he understood and said hed still shorten the dress even though it was a lot of work and would give it to me at a discounted price. When I got my dress back it looked absolutely perfect! You couldnt even tell that it had been shortened, it looked like it had been made to fit me! I would definitely recommend Noor!

I am a muscular guy with a really wide shoulders and slim waist, so most of the off rack clothes dont fit me properly. I took $800 worth of clothes for Noor (the owner) to fix based on the reviews here, and I am glad I did. Noor is a very patient, knowledge and skilled tailor. He fixed my first batch of clothes in just a week. However, I was unsatisfied with the waist sizes on my clothes as it was still too baggy. So I took the clothes back to Noor, and he agreed to fix them without hesitation. Second time comes around, and the clothes fit perfectly this time. I was very happy.One advice I would give is to show Noor a clothes that you think fit really well, and he will make it similar to that sample.

I bought a brand new armored mesh motorcycle jacket and wanted to have some Harley Davidson patches sewn onto the back of it. I asked my wife about it and she said that, because of the mesh pocket in the liner (where the back armor goes), the entire liner might have to be removed from the jacket before any sewing could take place. She said there was no way she was taking this task on.I looked online for several alteration shops and then narrowed my search by reading the reviews of each shop. Expert Alterations and Tuxedos had far more positive reviews out of all of the shops. So I took my jacket and the patches up to Expert Alterations and Tuxedos and talked with Noor about doing the work.I explained the situation to Noor and showed him on the jacket exactly what I was talking about. He took the time to fully understand just what I was telling and showing him. He then documented the instructions on paper and gave me a (very fair) price and a date to pick up my jacket.When I went up to the shop today to pick up my jacket, I was thrilled with the professional work that Noor did for me! The jacket looked amazing! He had to unstitch most of the jacket to carefully remove the entire liner from the shell of the jacket so that he could sew the patches on. Then he meticulously spaced and placed the patches on the back so that they looked even and correct in alignment. Then, somehow, he sewed the patches on (I dont even pretend to know how you see fabric patches on a mesh jacket to begin with) even though the jacket would not have necessarily fit on a sewing machine. Once the patches were sewn in place, Noor had to re-assemble the jacket and the liner and sew them back together. I couldnt tell that the jacket had ever been altered at all, that is how professional Noors work is! The seams and the placement of the patches was absolutely perfect.The placement of the patches was perfect, but I cannot relate to you all the meticulous effort he put forth in completely removing and then reassembling the entire lining of the jacket. He might as well have sewn the jacket himself from scratch! Not only will I use Noor and Expert Alterations and Tuxedos for any tailoring, alteration, or tuxedo needs that I have in the future. I will also recommend him to any and all of my friends and family! Do yourself a favor and skip all of the searching and reading of reviews to find a shop and just go see Noor at Expert Alterations and Tuxedos! You will not be disappointed!

I wasnt surprised at all to see the glowing reviews for this business. I bought a nice suit for a wedding and job interviews and such. I had never bought a suit before and didnt realize that making alterations to fit you perfectly was... a thing. So the Wedding was gonna be Friday... I bought a suit Wednesday evening, went to work Thursday and immediatly went over to rehearsal dinner after work.I figured I had all day Friday to get the suit altered and to my dismay found that every dry cleaner or speciality alteration shop said they could have it back to me by Monday or Tuesday. I need it done THAT DAY (Had to be at the Church at 4:00 for pictures). I found this business on the web and called it. The phone rang to voice mail and I didnt bother and figured Id just keep looking... till I got a call back from the store only a minute later.I talked to Noor and explained my situation (and that Im obviously new to this and didnt realize it was going to turn into an ordeal). He told me to bring the suit in and he could deffinitely hem the suit pants that day, but he wasnt sure he could get the jacket sleevs leangthed (which wasnt as important anyway) but that he would try.I dropped my pants off at about 10:30 and was blown away by Noors genuine friendliness... I wouldnt even call it good customer service because that undersells how good a guy Noor is. He told me to come back at 2:00. I got back at about 2 and he both the pants hemmed and the jacket sleeves leangthened and it looked awesome.We talked for a few minutes again and I just cant stress enough how good of a person Noor is. He asked me some pretty in depth stuff about my life out of a genuine interest, but did so in a very positive and friendly mannor that just made me feel comfortable. You normally dont share those kinda of details with a person you just met, but when you feel like some genuinely cares and is taking an interest in your life, it makes you *want* to open up.I cant reccomend this place enough.
