I was having problems trying to find someone who would deliver gravel for my French drain I dug out. I almost considered buying by the bag from a home improvement store. Then I found Saunders. I was worried based on their delivery policy that my small driveway wouldnt be big enough but they looked up my house on google maps and let me know they thought they could do it. My 9.5 wide driveway was just wide enough for the truck. The major strike against them for me was that they only sell by the full ton. I really needed 2 1/4 tons but didnt want 3/4 ton of gravel sitting around, so I ordered 2. Other than that, I was happy with my experience.

Super cheap mulch, delivered. As a landscaping contractor, I wanted to try them since I needed a large quantity for a job. They *delivered* 10 yards of mulch for less cost than just the material from where I usually pick it up. Additionally, I would have to make 3 trips. My local place, which is ~5 miles away, wanted more than $100 (to deliver) on top of what Saunders price was.So I picked Saunders for the first time.Mulch seemed good quality.Unfortunately, the most aggravating part of it was the delivery. As a contractor, you want to use all the time you have available. Saunders would not give me any sort of window for delivery, but said they would call 30 minutes in advance.So basically I waited around, doing nothing all day, waiting for a delivery that ended up coming right at 6pm, when the day was over.When I called to ask, Saunders wouldnt narrow the window down at all, not even if it was more like 9am, or 6pm.Very inconvenient, and I probably wont order again unless the mulch could sit on the customers property for 1-2 days in advance.

This company is number one! I am a repeat customer and will continue to order my landscaping supplies from them. I’ve placed several orders over the past year, and each time my order has been delivered fast and professionally. They gave me a heads up when they were on their way and the delivery drivers are excellent. The quality of their products are exceptional and their customer service is second to none! I’ve ordered mulch and topsoil delivery from Saunders a few times over the passed 5 or 6 years. Their website is very straightforward and and user friendly. Their prices are a little high, but the quality is top notch as is their customer service. I will call on them again in the future for sure.

I ordered fire wood two weeks ago. I have patiently waited and called on numerous occasions. They have refused to give me a commitment on a delivery date. I have not received what I paid for. I have been pleaseNt on the phone and understanding of scheduling difficulties. This has crossed the line from unprofessional to downright wrong. I’ll be calling first thing Monday to request a full refund. I will never do business with this company and suggest nobody else does eitherUpdate: The owner personally came out and wanted to meet with me and inspect the product. He took my experience seriously and In the end offered me a credit. I understand that my experience may not be the norm for this company. All in all I had a bad experience which will probably cause me not to do business with them. But you may have a more positive experience like it appears most have. It did mean a lot to see the owner personally come out to see me though and apologize for the situation.

Firewood is unusable. Huge pieces that need to be split again. Does not burn, not seasoned. Owner not helpful, says we got what we ordered. Funny, don’t remember ordering firewood that is too big for fireplace and does not burn.

Ordered 10 yards of shredded mulch from the Davidsonville location. The lady I spoke to was very polite and efficient. The mulch was delivered on time to Chester Md. The driver also did a very good job. The mulch quality and quantity was also very good.The only problem I had was a sore back from moving 10 yds of mulch by hand. Excellent Job to all!!!!

I strongly recommend Saunders Landscape Supply. I recently ordered a ton of gabion stone on line for an erosion-control project on my property. I got a call the next business day to confirm my order and make sure I was ordering the right material for my job. After the consultation, I realized I had not ordered enough for the job and added an additional ton for only $25 extra. The delivery was on time, and I got a call half an hour before. The stones were dumped exactly in the right place. The stones were just what I needed and I was able to complete my project the following weekend.

The worst service ever. The delivery person who is very rude, disrespectful and unprofessional duped 10 yard compost on the walkway while I was standing there and telling him to dump it on the grass. No apology... with contempt he just took off. I tried to contact both the receptionist and contact person called don no reply or help. So sad never experienced such business deal before. Thank you!

Buyer Beware!For the record, I have used Saunders Landscaping for several years now, and have, for the most part, been pleased. Not so this year.Let me start by pointing out that Saunders Landscaping screens the posts. Only positive reviews will get through. I have worked around their screening. The way it works is that they send you a follow-up email thanking you for using them and asking you to give them a five star review. The email then poses the question Would you recommend us to a friend? followed by two buttons Yes or No. Yes takes you to the review screen where I am posting right now. No does not take you to the review screen but another window where you can tell them why your experience was not positive. When No is selected, the comments entered are private to Saunders and will not be posted for general consumption.This year, as in years past, I ordered 10 cu yd of Color Enhanced Black Mulch - delivered. (actually have ordered 11 cu yd in past years but always had way too much left over (at least 2 cu yds). ) The driver was courteous and did a nice job placing the pile on the tarp in the driveway - hence the only reason Saunders gets one star instead of zero. The mulch seemed less dark black than in past years and the pile was SIGNIFICANTLY smaller as well. Belly button high vs. eye level. I had guessed that it was only going to cover 2/3 of my gardens and, by skimping on the coverage, I was right. 1/3 of my gardens are currently not mulched.Let me say that I have done these gardens, which have not changed in size, for many years. Just myself applying the mulch, same gardens, same wheelbarrow, etc. 10 cu yd always covers with plenty to spare. 9 cu yd is really all I need, but the price break for 10 cu yd makes it cheaper to order 10 vs 9. The detail oriented side of me (I know there are other terms for it but go easy, Im borderline Autistic) has allowed me to tabulate the number of wheelbarrow loads required to cover each of the garden areas. So my coverage rate remains the same, year after year, for each garden section. A total of 77 wheelbarrow loads (~3.5 cu ft each) for the gardens and I usually have several loads left over. Except for this year where I only got 52 wheelbarrow loads, none leftover. Thus missing at least 25 loads needed to cover the remaining garden area.Hence a phone call to Saunders asking them to credit my account for the missing mulch. They said that I must have applied it thicker this year. Nonsense. The coverage rate is the same every year as I have described in detail above. For those of you proficient in math, my calculations show that I only received 6 3/4 cu yd of mulch. (52 wheelbarrow loads * 3.5 cu ft per wheelbarrow load / 27 cu ft per cu yd = 6.75 cu yd) Far from the 10 cu yd that I had ordered.After posting my review, I received an unscheduled, unannounced visit from Don Saunders, Jr., President of Saunders Landscape. Said he was here to “resolve” the issue. Explained what I have already detailed here. He proceeded to call me a liar. Some resolution. At this point, I informed him that he was trespassing and that I was calling the police as he was no longer welcome on my property. He did not leave immediately as he proceeded to roam around and measure my gardens and I did talk to the police about his unwelcome intrusion. Regardless, the number of wheelbarrow loads per garden area has not changed. 10 cu yd should cover all of the gardens with some to spare. In fact, having ordered 11 cu yd in the past two years I already had enough extra stored under my deck to cover an area equivalent to 5 cu yd. Hence the order of 10 cu yd this year. No use ordering 8 or 9 cu yd because of the price break applied at 10 cu yd makes 10 cheaper that 9 and almost the same as 8.Again, my calculations show that I received 6.75 cu yd even though I ordered 10 cu yd. I can post the video of Mr Saunders strolling around my yard uninvited if I need to.
