Great little hardware store. The best thing about it is they always know about the stuff they sell. So if you have a question they can answer it. The only down side is they might not have exactly what part you need in stock. The store is well stocked but not huge.

Theres nothing like a local hardware store, where all the locals come to purchase their hardware need, and everyone is friendly, and the experience is something you just wont find in a big hardware chain! Churchland is a perfect little hardware stores, and their prices are competitive!

I love this place. So much more convenient than going to one of the big name stores. It has everything I need and the staff are eager to help you find what it is that you need. No wandering around trying to find things. The prices are also very reasonable. I highly recommend this hardware store, especially if you live nearby.

Churchland Hardware is a very good old shop with knowledgeable and helpful employees. Today I was grateful for their wide variety of galvanized buckets.

I agree with most, the inside is fantastic. But small business mom and pop customer service is dead. I called them 10 minutes before close on my way to the store and asked if they had an item I needed and could they hold closing for me because Id be right there. I arrived at 5:26, knocked on the door and they wouldnt let me in. I watched as the manager just counted the register and mouthed to me sorry. Really? Glad business is so good for them.

Small business just isnt what it used to be. The people in here obviously dont want return customers. The one and only time I went there the staff was too busy talking down to a customer who was a different ethnicity. Only after the customer left were they magically able to help me. When asked if I found everything I was looking for, the only response I could give was, yep, all by myself. If you need a hardware store just drive past this one.

Staff is unable to answer questions, they follow you around the store as if you are going to steal something. Never felt so disappointed in a local store. Would love to do more business locally but not here. Unwelcome!

Ive been coming to this store for years. They arent the cheapest and if you want more variety, on tools or garden stuff, shop the big box stores like HD and Lowes. But it is convenient and if what I am looking for is nuts and bolts or some other odd piece, then usually Ill find it here. Seriously, go to Lowes and look for some stainless steel bolts in some odd size. Good luck on finding what you want. Their stuff is all disorganized and half is missing. Nobody keeps up with it. The depth and variety of the HARDWARE in this traditional hardware store is why I keep coming back.The staff has been here for years. I see some new faces now and then, but always the same folks. They are very helpful and know what they have and where it is. Whoever gave them one star because they arent open after 530 should keep in mind that they probably couldnt pay the bill on the lights for the amount of business they would generate by doing that, let alone cover the salaries of the people working there. Its in a small strip mall and none of the stores are open after 6. Thats just the nature of the place. We had a couple of other hardware stores in Portsmouth years ago, but I think this one is the last. I would sure miss it if it closed.
