We love the cracker barrel you can get breakfast lunch dinner at any time the variety is amazing, I dont think youll ever be disappointed in anything you order if you are they will replace it or give you something different. Its always packed every cracker barrel I know of is packed all the time. The quality of food is great the customer service is great and its always a nice place to go and eat no matter what kind of food youre looking for 🤗

Waited for over 30 minutes for our food, finally getting it in to-go containers due to the wait. We were not satisfied with the food we received for the price we paid. 14.00 for the picture enclosed. Very disappointing

My wife and I really really enjoyed the food and the service. Everything was just as good as expected. We enjoyed meals there before on vacation.

Staff was clean, respectful, very attentive and friendly smiles as always!!! And the safety precautions were in full effect!!! Not to mention the food was fresh and hot and so tasty as always!!! The new deep fried turkey meal with their new 3 cheese squash is amazingly magnificent! The portions were nice size, the flavor was tantalizing on my tastebuds and the whole experience was wonderful!!!

After waiting for an hour(they originally told us 45 minutes), they still could not tell our party how long the wait would be. We did have a party of 11, but there were about 25 different parties called over the hour long period we were waiting. I understand that with that size, it might take some time.After we went and asked how much longer it would be, and they couldn’t give us any idea, we mentioned that we might go somewhere else that we had called (which seated our party right away) and the waitress/attendant was pretty rude and said she didn’t care.Would be a zero star if I could.

Great dining experience. Service was great. Our waitress was awesome. Omg the coffee was fresh as well. Loved it. My grandsons did too. I love the old fashioned atmosphere thats the best part of the whole thing.

Good morning All! My children and I are currently seated and being looked after by the lovely and gracious Nikita. She is everything one would want in a sever, warm hearted, helpful and friendly. We haven’t been in in months, however, she greeted us like old friends and even remembered our favorite things! In addition, this location is always tidy and the kitchen does an excellent job getting food out quick and perfect every time. Do yourself a favor and come to the Portsmouth Blvd Cracker Barrel, ask for Nikita and lavish her in gratuity.

My pancakes weren’t cooked all the way through and we ordered some to go items (which took VERY long to get, longer than our for here food) and one of them was a peach cobbler with ice cream. The ice cream and cobbler were packaged separately which is fine, that’s normal. But when I look at the peaches and theres zero cobbler, it’s just peaches. That’s fine it was probably a mistake but when I point it out to our waitress she just gives me the cobbler in the bag😭. Like didn’t have it remade with the cobbler it’s just like dry gram crackers or whatever it is. Idk if this is normal to do but it is pretty weird.

Always a great place to sit and have dinner, with shopping after for my beautiful wife. I used to visit Cracker Barrel for breakfast 24/7 when I spent lots of time on the road for work, now I have tried about everything from the menu and never a problem. Enjoy!

Husband and I ordered southern fried chicken dinner. They were out of mashed potatoes and the hash browns were cold. Not one of my good experiences.

This is a very good place to stop and feed your family we try to go 4-6 times a month the food is very good and tasty not bad for fast food its comforting! And Delicious.

The wait was pretty long, but we were patient. You could see they were understaffed like many other restaurants. When we were seated, Tiffany was our server. She has a great personality and was on point with all our drinks and dishes. Everything was delicious!

Ordered 2 fried chicken salads ($10.54) each... Salads were very skimpy... everything that was listed as included in the salad was not included (no eggs, no cheese wedge, no crackers)... Zaxbys offers a much better fried chicken salad at a lower cost...

I love Cracker Barrel. I love the feel, the smell, the country store. I wish I could give 4.5 stars. The only reason I dont do 5 is because they always get something wrong on every visit. Food is still delicious and staff are nice and social. They work very hard. I think the kitchen workers are more the issue. Last visit we received a glass of soda with orange juice pulp stuck to the inside of the glass. The waitress was quick to fix the problem and very apologetic. We will return as we always do because I just know one day they will earn that other star. 😊

I wait time for two people is ridiculous. The staff looked like they hated their life. My girlfriends went to this location the other day and said host were helping retail instead of doing their job. Every time I visit this location they are always pressing candy down my throat. They might as well apply at the Ford dealership. I can’t understand why this location has gone down into the slumps. It used to be great. But we had an excellent server Aiden I believe his name was.

They are definitely feeling the crunch of the supposed wait staff shortage as almost everyone in this Cracker Barrel had no stars on their aprons. The wait staff was nice, but inexperienced.The food was overall satisfactory, except one of the 2 pieces of catfish ordered by my party was rare at best.Ill be back, but as of right now this was not the best experience Ive had at this Cracker Barrel.

A great experience. Food was hot and fresh. Seasoned to perfection. A little wait but worth it. Did expect whole catfish fillet. Wasnt spicy as advertised. Yet it was still good. Tasted a piece of chicken 👍 Our server Marquise was wonderful. Very polite and very knowledgeable about menu. The Portsmouth Blvd location was awesome. Best of all it was CLEAN. Took leftovers home lol.

My husband and I frequently visit Cracker Barrel it seems to be one of the safest places to go and the food is normally good but with this last experience that we had this week, the chicken was so dry and not fresh at all. When we mentioned it to a server she was surprised about the chicken not being fresh. Ive ordered the chicken time and time before and it never tastes like that. The service stated that she would mention it to the manager, they apologized but we had eaten as much of the chicken as we could eat. And did not want it replaced so they gave us free dessert. Slightly disappointed Angela and Tommy!

Our waitress was named Nikkia she was fast and efficient. Some of the waitresses had 4 ft. Braids and they were just flying around everywhere. Should have been in a bun or in some kind of scarf....not going on the tables when they turned around.Food was great!

A rustic dining experience coupled with good food, down-home hospitality and classic ambiance. The staff is friendly and helpful. The atmosphere is very welcoming. The roast beef platter is recommended with common fare such as okra and hash brown casserole. Tis the season for pumpkin spice; the latte is a preferred favorite. Cheers!

Stopped at this location to eat. We were seated right away, but then things changed. We waited almost 30 minutes to get some water and 2 hours for food that never came. The waitress was pretty much non existent. I will never go to this establishment again.

My wife and I enjoy dining at Crocker Barrel after shopping in the area. We enjoy the home style dishes. It bring back memories of the past.

About a month ago I placed an online order to be picked up. It kept telling me they were out of everything that I was trying to order. So ui gave up on the ordering. Then moved on to somewhere else. Next thing I know I had a 33 dollar charge to my card and never recieved any food. I tried to rectify the problem with calls to 2 different managers who told me they would take care of it and get back to me. Neither manager ever called me back and I never had my money returned. That is the last $33 the cracker barrel will ever get from me.

The food was awesome. Fresh good very very good. But we got to the cornbread was very disappointing it was cold and hard. The overall the visit was great. And oh by the way Ill be back again soon. I think twice about ordering cornbread though.

It was a typical Cracker Barrel restaurant. Good food and good service. I am a big believer and fan of the breakfast sampler because it give me a variety of options and lots of good dishes.

The food is usually good. However there is always a long wait time even when the parking lot is fairly empty. It would be more decent if they did not have long wait times every day.

As of late, there have been major improvements in staff and food quality! On a Saturday night, EVERYONE was hustling to meet customers needs. I never once saw the manager standing still. Even though the place was packed, food was great and employees were friendly! Well done!!

Went to this Cracker Barrel on 07/01/2021 and my experience wasn’t good at all. The waitress was fabulous but the food was a 1 at the most. The southern chicken texture was like it was re fried to get heated up. The pancakes was horribly nasty. I eat at a lot of barrels and this one was so disappointed.

Worst restaurant experience ever. Placed order online directly through Cracker Barrel Website. Used Google pay and should be ready in 20 min. Pull up in curbside call the phone number listed on the parking space and get a fax machine. Called again fax machine. Called again someone answers and transfers me to another person sat on hold 9 minutes before someone picked up and said the order was on the way out. Sent my husband inside to check on things the person at the register said it was being bagged. While waiting I asked for a manager. Robert Griffin offered me a full refund then proceeded to tell me he could not refund me because I used Google Pay. He said he would give us 2 meal vouchers but I only received one. Our food arrived while talking to him a total of 40 minutes after it was supposed to be ready. The worst part after getting back home an hour later was the food was completely unacceptable. Chicken fried steak had no gravy. Roast beef had no gravy. Steak was supposed to be medium rare and was so overcooked it could not be chewed. Green beans had burnt pieces in it. I understand there is a labor shortage but if you do not have staff or the technology do not offer curbside or in store pickup.

I had a wait which was expected and planned for; I enjoy their food and their rockers. When I was called, I was seated then waited another ten minutes, ok, they were busy. Then, another table was seated and a waitress came to take their order immediately. I stood up and asked the obvious question (why). Shortly thereafter, a waitress came for my order but I asked for water then left.

This is an excellent place to dine in and shop because Cracker Barrel has great deal that you can use to decorate your inside home and outside yard.

This place has gone to hell. We came in with a party of 7 to sit down as a family and have breakfast together. Three 4 tops in a row were empty and they sat us at tables across the aisle instead of the two next two each other. When I asked them to switch the tables they said no theyd already sat the other table...that was completely empty. Wouldnt even budge to switch the tables and accommodate a family outing.

Everything was amazing. I had the hamburger steak, green beans and dumplings. Oh my Goodness 😍😍😍

We arrived here last evening at 6:30 P.M. After getting seated, our waitress, Bailey gave us menu’s. We ordered two beers and both of our meals, which was cat fish. A few minutes later she brought our beers and left. After another 15 minutes she returned to inform us they were out of the catfish with no menu in tow. So, off she went to get us menu’s. About 6-7 minutes later she retuned with one menu! There were two of us! Another 10 minutes she returned to take our new orders. As we waited and waited another group came in, sat down and ordered. Pretty soon they got their food. We still waited. Another 10 minutes go by and still no food. At this point we were quite frustrated. We summoned her over, Told us we would wait no longer, and I wanted to speak to her manager. Another 10 minutes! I got up and caught their attention at the entrance to the kitchen. Fiinally Bailey came out, handed me a bill for the two beers and turned to go. I asked her, where is the manager ? Oh she says. Another 5 minutes and the manager appears. After sharing my experience with him, he tells me what he perceives I need to hear. I informed him I was not pleased to which he replied “I’m sorry”. So with nothing else from him as far as don’t worry about paying for the two beers, I went to the cashier, paid for the two beers and we left to find another place to eat. I recently retired haves owned and operated a Dodge new car dealership, Gas station and a sporting goods store. Had I conducted those businesses as this Cracker Barrel is, I would have gone broke. You may want to look into this location and do some house keeping. I’d begin with letting Bailey go and teaching your manager how to conduct himself, his staff and kitchen.

This Restaurant gives me A Taste of Country Style Cooking. Very nice and Relaxing. I Recommend it to Anyone. 👍

VERY VERY DISSAPOINTING.....I ASKED FOR MY GRAVY ON THE SIDEDIDNT GET THAT, MY PEPESI WAS FLAT, AND TOOK FOREVER TO GETA FRESH ONE, NEVER GOT THE STRAW I ASKED FOR, DIDNT GET THETHE COLESLAW WITH MY MEAL, AND BISCUITS THAT WE WERESUPPOSED TO GET BEFORE OUR FOOD, DID NOT COME UNTILAFTER WE WERE ALREADY EATING. THE ONLY THING SHE BROUGHTRIGHT AWAY WAS THE CHECK. VERY DISSAPOINTED.

Crackling log-fire filling the drafty Crackle Barrel with much needed heat for our feetDinner-Time at the Crackle Barrel was enjoyable with the choice of Breakfast Food. The pancakes were fluffy. The eggs were scrambled. The sausage was tasty. The grits werent, at all lumpy! The air was filled with the aroma of coffee brewing, maple syrup and a wood burning fireplace. The atmosphere was of chatter, laughter and fire-logs popping, and chairs sliding . The service was good. Our server was Deja. She was very attentive and friendly. Anytime you want breakfast, you can get it, whether its breakfast, lunch or dinner hours! Bon Appetit!

Extremely unprofessional staff at the portsmouth Blvd location in Chesapeake VA. Sat right infront of the kitchen and saw the staff tossing food around the kitchen, being extremely loud to the point where it was obnoxious. The chicken and dumplings came out with the chicken hard as a rock. Theyre out of stock on half the menu. Spoke with a manager and they seemed to just brush the situation off stating they were in the way back of the store and didnt see or hear anything. Will never come back to this location again. 10/10 wouldnt recommend going here

I love Cracker Barrel, especially the mac and cheese, grilled chicken tenderloins, green beans, and the hash brown casserole. Their Coca Cola Chocolate cake is good, too.

Great service today, only complaint is the under cooked sausage. I was offered something else, but I really didnt want anything after that. Everything else was great.

I love this place. They dont have any staff nobody wants to work oh, they need servers. If you are looking for a job or you know someone whos looking for a job please send them their way.

We used to come here all of the time before we moved to California. Its been 6 years and we have moved back and Im very disappointed in the direction the store has gone. The food i quality has gone way down. What used to be hot fresh delicious food is now old, rubbery, salty, and sometimes even cold. The service is hit or miss too. The store portion of the building is so over crowded with merchandise that anyone with a stroller or in a wheel chair would struggle to get around. ( People cant buy anything if they cant get to it)

I love the food! I love the customer service and all the beautiful collection of items they have for sell! The food was worth my money and the prices plus tax was reasonable for me and my family. We will continue to come there. Thanks Cracker Barrel Family

Overall it was good, not great. They need a new 🌽🍞 recipe. I strongly recommend the biscuits 👌. Trout was delicious and reasonably priced. Kaitlyn made the visit for me warm and caring, attentive without being annoying.

The food was Absolutely Delicious and our Servers were truly “on Point!” They didn’t miss a beat! Had EVERY order right and was there to attend to our every need!Our party of 19 was truly treated well and they accommodated us to the fullest!The “Catfish”.....I would recommend to anyone who has never tried it there! The grilled catfish I ordered was very dry and pretty much tasteless. The garden salad was very nice. The server never asked if I wanted refill on my ice tea nor asked if we wanted dessert. Visit was nothing special.

My family really wanted to eat here, so I came along. There are very few vegan options. There were pineapple rinds in the fruit cup.

This particular local Cracker Barrel has had certain issues since they opened several years ago. One issue in particular, is the temperature of the food. Theyve always had a problem with this. Several times we have mentioned it to a manager, and they stated it would be corrected, but the problem continues. When the food comes out it is barely warm. Sometimes we will ask the waitress/waiter to please have it re-heated, and sometimes not. We had stopped going, only twice have we eaten there in the last year or so. When we decided to eat there 2 or 3 days ago, again the food was just warm. We both got chicken and dumplings, and we always ask for extra gravy (the thick gravy or sauce that is mixed with the chicken/dumplings). When the waitress brought out the gravy, it was a thin chicken broth. When we told her that wasnt what we were talking about, she said the cook mentioned that was all they had. We just left it on the table, uneaten. I have eaten at Cracker Barrels in multiple states and most of the time the food has always been consistent, hot and very tasty. Some not so consistent. I really hope that they start checking the quality and consistency in all their restaurants.

Apparently the cook wasnt at work and the manager decided to become the cook that day. The server should have explained initially that the kitchen was a little slow. Being we got there at 7am I didnt understand why at 7:30 am we still had no food. We left.

Good food, good service, cleanProblem was there was a table of women 4 or 5 with their kids that were very very loud. Laughing so loud it made it uncomfortable. I understand everyone gas fun but these women would not stop. Throughout our meal they laughed. Someone could have asked them to quiet down some.

Food is good, much like any other location, but the staff have many opportunities to improve. I have had multiple instances of issues and delays associated with curbside pickup and to-go at this location. They say the meal is prepped at a certain time, but even after checking in prior to the time specified, I still had to wait 30+ minutes.

Five star for the food!! The staff could use way more training considering the number of years moving. Four different modes of food travel, one staff source and minimal training. Long waits, so plan and take a snack while you wait for your order. The food is consistently delishious and you will enjoy.

Always good to be about to get in on a Sunday for some good shrimp and grits. Best bet is to put your name on the online waiting list first though!

This was a most enjoyable visit!!! The food was greatl but our server, Lauren, was really delightful!!! Very attentive, socialable and deserving of any recognition by management!!! I left feeling very satisfied with my meal and hopefully got some recognition for a fantastic server named Laren!!!

First off let me say that I enjoy dining at Cracker Barrel restaurants. I always make my way to dine at the restaurants when I get the chance (e.g., when Im out of town or want to eat a meal after I workout). This experience at this location kills me to share what I went through While heading up to enjoy the 4th of July festivities Jamestown and Yorktown, we decided to dine at this location before the crowd got there. We arrived at approximately 9:45 a.m. which the place wasnt that busy, we were told that there was a wait of 20 minutes. They offered us to select our entrées from the menu so by the time we get to our tables, the food would be ready (so far so good right). A server/hostess (Jasmine) took our orders and provided us with the paper (which she wrote) to show the hostess inside. We got the notice at 10:27 a.m. that our table was ready and provided the paper to only have it returned to use to show our server. At this point, I was confused about the process. What was the whole point of taking our order to only be sat down to do the same...Our server introduced herself then took the paper to verify what we were ordering. She provided us with the drinks at a reasonable time. She resurfaced about 20 minutes (about 11:00 a.m. ish) later asking if we wanted biscuits, which we were glad because we were all getting hangry. She then apologized for the wait and asked to refill biscuits. At this time, it was about 11:15 a.m. and still no breakfast. I gave it another 30 more minutes and then walked to request a manager. At this moment, our server was nowhere to be found (which was expected because I can understand showing up back to our table empty handed). As I approached the manager, I saw other customers having the same issue. Rather than blowing up, I told the manager we were leaving. He said (dont know who he was), were getting your food right now. Quite frankly, we stayed longer than expected and our plans for the holiday festival were now delayed. We have already wasted 2 hours and no breakfast (just biscuits). I didnt want to make a scene so I just told them were leaving. Also, this is the second time (I didnt leave a complaint because I wanted to give them another chance which I regret) this occurred and I dont plan on coming back to this location. We left about 12:05 p.m. very disappointed. We ended up eating lunch at Yorktown. It saddens me to write about this experience; however, I feel its necessary to show what needs improvement.

Food was barely warm, and when we get chicken and dumplings we always ask for a little extra of the gravy that is in the chicken and dumplings. They brought out a bowl of watery chicken broth. I told her this is not what we normally get, who wants watery broth on them. The server said they told her thats all they had. We stoppedgoing to this CB on Portsmouth Blvd. a couple of times for about a year. Just dont understand why 4 out of 5 times the food is not hot and the servers are not friendly. We go to one in Statesville, NC when we visit and its always perfect. Even when we get it to go its hotter than eating in here. I will say they do pretty good at social distancing.

Due to COVID we were told it would be a 15 minute wait for a table, but we were seated within about 10 minutes. Wait staff was courteous, and brought our food pretty quickly. Food was properly prepared, and done properly. I will definitely revisit this location.

It was very disappointing cracker bread used to be one of the best places to go to. the last couple times and tonight have not been that good. I always got roast beef because it was so tender you cut with a fork, this is the 1st time I couldnt cut it with a folk. The people I came with, their food was worse than mine cold, Not cooked enough or overcooked, dry, the dumplings came out all stuck together so when you put your fork in it, the whole bowl of food came out. Just not the standard that you are used to. Big let down.
