Awesome customer service. Really cool selections.

I have been here quite a few times over the years, and have generally found the service and selection to be great. However, this last time I was not as impressed. I went in looking for a specific type of controller that wasnt too expensive for a system I just bought. The gentleman that worked there recommended one after I told him what game I wanted to use it for. Well, after opening the package and trying to pair the controller, we instantly found out that controller does not work for that particular game. No worries, we would just swing back around and return it real quick. Well, when I went in, the same gentleman that recommended the controller to me, told me I could only get store credit. I understand they have a store policy, but since he was the one that recommended an incorrect controller in the first place, I figured this would be an exception. It left a bad taste in my mouth, and I most likely will not be back for a while.

Great place to buy, sell video games. They have new and used selections as well as classic systems and games. Alot of posters and plush toys. Do yourself a favor and check it out. Locations in VB and Chesapeake.

A great little video game shop, I highly recommend making it your first stop if youre looking to beef up your retro collection or searching for that favorite old game. I was blown away by how inexpensive so many of the games here are. The selection and variety are unparalleled. Im really looking forward to visiting Video Game Heaven again and again. Dont sleep on this place!

Its high time I updated my review for this location as the original one is several years old now. Of the 3 VGH locations this one is my favorite. I find this location has the a great yet diverse collections of games and supported consoles, whether its the current generation (PS4, XBox One) or the older platforms. One of the great things about this location is they really seem to push new stock into here all the time and that turned me into a regular customer.Whether Im shopping for myself or a friend whos down in Charlotte, NC. I try to get in here every couple of weeks to see whats available. The staff here is super cool and always helpful and I cant stress enough how wide their variety is. Also they do much better on trade ins than the chain game stores. No matter what console you collect for youll probably find something here.

This is my favorite gaming store I have come across in all my years. The store is always clean, neat, and pleasant to the eye. The staff are just a bunch of geeks, and I say that in the best way possible. Just simply the best people who really just want to get to know you and chat about gaming and pop culture. I have gone there several times and just hung out and had great conversations with Will and the rest of associates. A highly recommended place, and one you will not soon forget.

What really stood out was how helpful and friendly the staff was. They are also consumers and therefore they are passionate about their products and customers. The prices were reasonable, the used items were in great condition, and the holiday sale was pretty generous. Ill be returning in the future.

This place is the best. Need some old school Nintendo stuff? Need to preorder a new game? Want some cool Japanese toys or candy? They have it! And the people who work here are so great. Theyre knowledgeable and honest, and Ive never met anyone here that I didnt like.

Fantastic. Went there on a whim while we were in the area, and the place is beautifully organized, has tons of cute stuff and great prices (especially for large plushes and figures), staff is cool, music is bopping, all the good stuff.

I went in looking for a certain game. Not only did I find the gand I was looking for st a super price!! The young woman working there recommended another game and since I saved so much on the first one I was able to purchase the 2nd one. I got my first N64 here and have been hooked ever since. I always try to come back when I have money to buy more games since their selection is so great. Staff is very kinda and helpful as well.

Let me tell you (whomever is reading this)... This shop is WHERE ITS AT!!! Very, very friendly staff. They made me feel right at home! Also, such a nice store.I was being indecisive about which game(s) I wanted to buy less than 40mins before they closed.. yet, they remained extremely patient and friendly all the way to the end. Also- best trade in value ever. Absolutely had to shake the hands of both gentlemen before heading out.If youre debating going there- ABSOLUTELY go. You wont regret it 😁on the contrary, youll be extremely pleased.

A great middle ground between the local game shop called old skool & the giant company game stop. Great mix of Retro Gaming Supplies and Hardware all the way to Next Gen gaming consoles and software. Also has the ability to repair more any console.

I have went here plenty of times and have had a good experience everytime. Today, however I called up because I have a device I no longer have need for and have been trying to figure out where I can sell it for the best price. I have called 4 different stores, and got a quote from each. I have done this plenty of times so I dont drive far for no reason. This store however, refused to give any type of quote or ballpark estimate making it frustrating because them being further from my house then I would like to drive, without having an idea of what to expect. This is not a common practice among the game stores so I am grateful for that. They have lost a customer and a sale. Like I said I have shopped plenty of times and never had a problem so this shocked me.

Lowballed on video game prices. All games were in great condition and only took 3 Xbox One games and 3 Nintendo games and got $9.13 for all 6. Wont be using them again. I even had some video game guide books that have never been opened that they didnt bother looking at.

Never noticed this place until riding by in the parking lot. Great and pretty large selection of games, consoles and guides. Only issue was the gift cards they put money on. Their system goes down and the teller has to notify corporate. No issues though, we got what we came for.

These guys are great! Friendly and knowledgeable. Between all of their employees you cannot stump them with a question. They look out for your best interest. They can fix games for a minimal fee that I would have thrown away. Not only ate they helpful, but their return policy and trade in value is second to none.

VGH is a great local game store! They have a vast selection of games both old and new, as well as a good variety of consoles and peripherals, and they also carry other merchandise including plushies and imported snacks. The staff is nice and open to chat, as well. I go there all the time before work (if I have time), and not once have I had a bad experience.

This is one of the best video game stores we have visited. Well lit, doesnt smell like a grandmas basement, has a great selection & an awesome knowledgeable staff. Out of the 3 here, this is the best.

One of Hampton Roads only retro video game outlets, they specialize on everything gaming, from the retro classics from Atari and Nintendo to current hits on the PS3 and 360. The staff is very helpful and knowledgeable about the gaming world and are always available to assist you. Furthermore, they purchase your used and new video games and systems at a great rate -- much more than big box stores will offer you. Definitely worth checking out if youre in the Hampton Roads area and are in the market for video games.

Poor customer service. It bothers me when Im asked to provide my ID to verify my debit card when the customer next to me isnt asked to do the same. Double standard.

I have gotten so mnay consoles from this place. They have so many games and accessories! So, i got a SNES from them. It didnt work. I came back and they offered to get a working yellow one and swap the top so i could have a non faded grey one!! They go out of their way to make their customers happy!

Every time Ive been here has been spectacular. The trade in values are unbelievably good. As a former gamestop employee I can honestly say the people and the business model they have here absolutely nuke any deal gamestop has or likely will ever have. If these stores werent around I honestly dont think Id be playing games anymore. Working for gamestop nearly killed the entire hobby for me and the people employed here helped me rediscover enjoyment in gaming again.

We go here usually before we even go to GameStop. Very friendly staff and a locally owned place so double win! We went today exclusively because we were looking for a Nintendo GameCube controller and when we asked GameStop we were quoted $30 for a third party one and even more for a used official one. So when we went over to video game heaven we ended up getting one for $10. This place is definitely a great value and you can always find something awesome here!!

My roommate and I brought several original xboxs and old rainbow six games. Anything that didnt work they switched out without a hassle. This location and the one in Norfolk are great between the two wet got everything we needed.
