This coffee shop is Veteran owned and operated. Very large and beautiful coffee/tea shop. I had the best Scottish Fog, loose leaf black tea latte that Ive ever tasted in my life! I consider myself to be a tea connoisseur and the barista made it to perfection! My wife ordered a mocha latte and it too was outstanding! They serve baked items, and freshly rolled cigars, as well, but we did not imbibe.This place is a cool place, just stroll around to check out their assortment of mugs, shirts, posters, works of art, etc. They also sell growlers of their iced coffee that they brand themselves. Dont miss this treasure when youre out in Chesapeake, Virginia. It is located in a small row of businesses. The baristas are true artists and well-trained in the art of coffee and tea preparation and service.

Support local business! I got an iced coffee I cannot pronounce the name of and now I can hear my heart beating. Good stuff, very gourmet setting and lots of flavors to choose from. Theres also tshirts and take home grounds available. Highly recommend.

This is a great place! My son and his dad and I come here and get drinks and hang out for a bit while playing connect four! The hot chocolate is perfect temp for your four year old! Very friendly atmosphere!

Great coffee shop and yummy coffee. From hot drinks to iced lattes (oat milk is an option). They have a variety of their own coffee whole bean or ground and some souvenirs such as shirts, tank tops coffee mugs etc. With a nice quiet atmosphere and seating area. Veteran owned and operated with great baristas that are knowledgeable and very friendly. Highly recommend supporting this small business and the veterans that built it.

Stopped in quickly for a drink and snack, sister got the Iced Almondmilk Latte with one pump Vanilla - said it was delightful and not too sweet. I got a Chai Tea Latte with Oatmilk and it was super delicious! We both got some of the burritos from the warming box and they were decent, but decided to buy a bottle of hot sauce to spice them up and the hot sauce they sell is amazing.

Best coffee shop in Chesapeake, and its veteran owned which is always a plus! The owners and employees are always so nice and give out good vibes. I always take my 1.5 yr old here for our mommy and son date and I love how every employee always talks to him and makes us feel like family!

The associates are always so pleasant. I’m NOT a morning person but they always put a smile on my face no matter how early ! The coffee is great and the storefront is always clean. I enjoy looking around at the new merch while waiting for my cup . Definitely recommend

Best coffee in town!! Flavored coffee is perfect, not sickening sweet like other coffee shops, hot or cold. Staff are always friendly, great atmosphere. I would live to see more outdoor seating otherwise its my go to place for coffee.

Wonderful veteran owned and operated business, amazing coffee, I am a huge fan of the midnight driver coffee it’s gotten me through some really long days, it’s got great staff service, great coffee, haven’t tried their hotsauce yet but I’m definitely picking up a bottle next time I go, and it’s quite a nice place to take a seat for a few minutes and enjoy a coffee, I’m 100 percent going to come back for more coffee, definitely recommend this to anyone that’s in the area.

Recently moved here from CA in June. Pale Horse is right around corner from the new house - found it 2nd week here. I stop in nearly daily, sometimes twice a day. Coffee is great, every server is friendly and always has a smile to go along with their How are yous? I am a stickler when it comes to customer service and Pale Horse doesnt disappoint! So glad to have found it and for it to be three minutes from home definitely a bonus.

Great coffee, venue, and people. The folks at Pale Horse really know their stuff and are excited to talk to coffee lovers about the newest beans and flavors theyre roasting. I joined their VIP Coalition and receive a monthly coffee box full of a different VIP roast, coffee samples, and awesome Pale Horse swag. If you want PREMIUM, FRESH coffee, then I would highly suggest Pale Horse Coffee! You can really taste the freshness in each cup of coffee you get. I got the peanut butter truffle and it was delicious. My wife got the cinnamon sticky bun and it was really good too. I have been to a lot of coffee shops and they usually do not sell French Press by the cup (usually have to buy in a large serving), not so with this place. My wife and I both got the French press of the different flavors I just mentioned. The coffee you purchase at the store is guaranteed to have been roasted within a 24hr period...everything is roasted in house.....It is VETERAN owned...friendly service....I just cant say enough good things about this place! I will definitely be going back there to try some of their other flavors and possibly their bakery items.

The last time I could taste the water more than the coffee like this I was in the military. Maybe that’s what they were going for, MRE coffee. You can never get the right amount of water so it’s always diluted. They are “veteran-led” maybe they miss MRE coffee?

This place is awesome. After just moving here, this is not the ONLY place I get coffee. The place is awesome inside, and they just did a bit of a remodel, so now theres even more room. As a Coffee Veteran I have tasted and recommended various Coffee brands but this one is THE best in the biz. I currently only order from them. Michael is an amazing roaster and the coffee that this company delivers is the best Ive ever tasted. They keep adding flavors and diving deeper into there tastings. The house is constantly filled with there aroma of delicious scents and at an amazing price. Always knowledgeable and professional every time I stop in. I absolutely love this company. This place is freaking badass. Comfortable without being pretentious and frou frou.

Stopped in this afternoon and got a great iced latte. Seems to be an outstanding small business that I have now added to my rotation. No virtue signaling mask wearing required which is a huge plus.

This place is really cool . They roast the beans right in the store. It smells sooo good in there. They have whole beans and ground. Since we dont have a grinder we got some ground up. The bag we wanted were only whole beans or drip grind and we wanted a fine cut so they went and ground up some for us. The man we talked to was very informative of all the products. He showed us about french press, which I had no idea about. He showed us a travel mug french press, if they would have had one for sale I would have bought one. He did say they were going to getting some in. On some types of coffee they give $3 per bag to veterans or some other groups. We also bought a hand made wooden coffee scoop that was made by a veteran, the coffee scoop also doubles as a way to keep the bag closed or just a way to keep up with the coffee scoop since the bags are resealable. You can also just buy a cup of coffee and hang out if you wanted. We were only there to get a bag of coffee so we didnt drink any while there. We will be going back.

Best place to get coffee in Hampton Roads

Recently started making my own coffee at home and was looking for a decent shop to get some whole beans from. I grabbed two bags from Pale Horse. Currently about halfway through a bag of Mercenary and it is excellent. Hoping the Neptunes Elixir is just as good! So far I would totally recommend.

Pale Horse has become a must stop for us when we travel to and from the outerbanks. Great coffee and nice folks.

I love to have found such an incredible relaxing place to end my days when Im in town. I love the time these individuals put into roasting there own beans at the shop as well as it being a veteran owned. The owners are all easy going wonderful people! Placing orders from the other side of the world has been easy and customer service has been spot on. The coffee always ships fast and arrives fresh. I highly recommend their coffee. Very good coffee....But, I was disappointed that one of the employees (older gentleman - Possible owner) that was serving customers was not wearing a mask. He was less than 6 feet from customers and handing them items. I would expect more social responsibility during a pandemic. The rest of the staff was all wearing masks. Bottom line....a good cup of coffee not worth 2 weeks off from work due to a covid infection.

Delicious coffee, with unique creations and a calm low key atmosphere. Oh and I cant forget to mention reasonable prices for good coffee. They even offer a coffee breakfast combo in which they partnered with a local restaurant down the street for breakfast burritos (freaking good) and a 12 oz coffee. Plus its Veteran and locally owned!

One of the owners (the only one with which I am familiar), Mike, is a bonafide coffee and cigar aficionado. His knowledge on either subject is quite vast and incredibly helpful. If you ever get the chance to talk to him about either, do it! The man knows his stuff and his excitement about these two areas seems to carry over to the employees, who are all kind and do their best to serve you with the best cup of coffee in the 757. The artwork on the walls and the Pale Horse gear is imaginative and fun. I always make sure to grab a few stickers when I am there to help promote them. The way they roast their beans is something I am not entirely familiar with, but I know that you will love the smell that graces your pallette the second you open the door to enter Pale Horse. I truly appreciate everything that the owners are doing with this business, and I pray they are able to sustain and grow their business further. Not just because the way they do business, that they are veteran owned and operated, that they have a passion for what they do and aim to be the best, though all of that is true, the main reason I want to see their business grow and succeed is because their product is just that darn good! If you like coffee, and I dont mean this fanciful over-priced, over roasted, and overrated garbage from a certain north westerly state, but real deal coffee, you absolutely MUST come down to Chesapeake and get some Pale Horse Coffee.

Tried Pale Horse Coffee for the first time last night (11-17-20) in Chesapeake, VA. Gotta admit, it’s truly excellent. Smooth taste of quality coffee at its finest. Proud to be a veteran as I am, I was more than happy to support this veteran-owned company.

Their coffee is the best Ive had around here. The staff is super as well. They are kind, friendly, and efficient. I would recommend everyone come here at least once. There was also a food truck out front that was serving breakfast sandwiches (Sunday morning), but I did not try them today.

But we do have some favorites (The Mustang and the Warthog, iced). We love how Pale Horse is owned and operated by retired military veterans, and how they give back to the community. I must have bought at least 10 lbs since last December. Each and every one is a great tasting coffee, with the Blueberry Cinnamon Crumble my favorite, with the Toasted Coconut coming in a strong second. Salty Carmel is also great. Seriously, I havent found a Pale Horse Coffee I dont like, regular or flavored. If you havent tried them do yourself a favor and get 2 or 3 bags now!

Ive been a fan of Pale Horse Coffee for a while now, but Ill make sure to just order online from now on if I decide to keep purchasing their coffee. This decision and rating is due to the fact that many customers and employees were walking around the store today without masks on and one person wearing a mask making coffee was wearing it incorrectly. In the height of a pandemic, its insane people are still chossing not to be safe and follow safety guidelines. Instead of ordering a coffee today, which I was very excited about, I quickly grabbed a bag ground coffee for my hubby and hurried out. Very disappointing.

Great place, awesome coffee. Only thing I would add would be a few more couches/chairs (it gets packed in there) and some more food varieties (homemade muffins, pastries etc).

We partnered with Pale Horse Coffee soon after opening our doors in July 2019. They created a special blend for our Builder From Hell Coffee Stout. Weve been using them ever since. Solid team, great people to work with, prompt and spot on when it comes to quality. Not to mention, they keep our staff properly caffeinated:) We highly recommend this Veteran Owned coffee shop to everyone!

I had been hoping that a real coffee shop would open in Chesapeake for a long time, and Pale Horse doesnt disappoint. They have some of the smoothest coffee Ive ever tasted. Everything thing from their plain black coffees to their lattes are simply incredible.Ive never been a fan of flavored coffees, but the few Ive tried so far are amazing. Bury Me at Sea has such an incredible profile of flavors. If you find yourself in the area and are a fan of great coffee, make the trip!

My experience at Pale Horse has was amazing! The staff is super friendly, quick and the coffee was amazing. They also had desserts from a local bakery which was the icing on the cake (pun intended). I will definitely be back to try a different flavor of latte but I recommend this place to EVERYONE! It is also military owned so make sure to support!

The bags of coffee make excellent gifts; my dad loved both that he recieved for christmas (and hes pretty picky). They were able to pregrind it so he didnt have to add a trip out to the world during covid times, and they shipped it to CO extremely quickly especially since it was the holiday season.

I travel from the Town Center area of Virginia Beach for this deliciousness! Tanzanian Peaberry is our favorite-an awesome way to start the day. We also love the lattes (cold of course since its August). Our go to there is the Guardian and one of the best parts is that it is CONSISTENTLY awesome every time! Great folks and atmosphere. The staff set up a table for our local Daughters of the American Revolution chapter to meet up and share conversation with their coffee. They provided a great spot, fantastic service, and wonderful fresh coffee. We also bought bags of coffee that portions of the proceeds went to charities. Absolutely love this hangout. I don’t normally leave reviews but for this I feel it’s needed. Everything roasted in house and everything is always fresh. Today we had to stop in and get some mugs to advertise at work. I had their blackberry bourbon brew today and it was great. Will continue to make this an at least weekly stop.
