Took my vehicle for a safety inspection, while other locations did not do same day, or were vague as to when the inspection would be completed, this establishment did it in one hour with two cars in front of me. Professional, on time, courteous service. I never write reviews, but these folks are good at what they do, and appear to take pride in what they do!

I called Betterton & Whitlow in a rush needing an inspection last minute. They were able to work me in and get it done and provided a quality experience. The inspector advised me on work that needed to be closely monitored and gave assurance that when the work could be afforded, they will take care of it. I trust the work they do.

Great experience and highly recommend! I started my search for an auto repair shop through researching reviews and decided to send a message via their site. I wasn’t expecting a quick response since it was 6 pm on a Sunday evening and Monday was MLK holiday. To my surprise Haley contacted me back to answer a couple questions and tell me to come in the next morning or that if needed, they could tow the vehicle. The next morning (today) I arrived and spoke a gentleman about my issue and he explained to me what he thought it could be. Told me that I could replace the battery myself if I wanted to save money or leave it with him and they would get to it today but that is where to start before going any deeper into a repair. I left it with them and it was fixed that day (today).I had a great discussion with the gentleman on other vehicles I am looking at while I waited for my ride. Throughout the experience everyone was very friendly and professional. I felt confident that I was getting the straight scoop and that my vehicle was going to be handled as if it were their own. I will be bringing my other vehicles here from now on.

I have been to many of the local auto shops but this shop is by far the best one that I have been to. The service was great and the repair was reasonably priced. This auto shop is definitely going to be my go to for any repairs and inspections.

A good shop- I have been taking my 4 cars here. However this last time, they broke an oil filter housing. Nobody had called about my car so I called and found this out. The found the replacement and installed it. They then charged me for the part they broke. I would’ve voluntarily paid for it but they kept explaining that it’s not their fault that the part broke while they were opening it. I put a lot of value in people’s word and honestly; their lack of accountability and then their charging me for the part they broke has resulted in myLoss of trust. Wont be bringing any car of mine back here again

Was referred here by a friend and was quite happy with the service. Good service done timely and much cheaper than the first place I went to.

I would highly recommend this place for an inspection. Inspections are the standard $16 and if it fails (which mine did) you have 15 days and they will reinspect for $1. I had the pleasure of meeting a really nice man whose name I didnt catch. He is tall with a white beard. My receipt says George A George so maybe thats him? He was very friendly and kind. This is the second year Ive gotten my inspection there and both times at the bottom of the inspection sticker they wrote Be Happy with a cute smiley face doodle. I just wanted to give a shout out to whoever does that because I see it all the time driving and its so cute and heartwarming and Im touched by it. The woman at the front is really nice and informative. She even suggested I wait at sunrise and get some breakfast which I thought was nice. And they always answer the phone which is great. Overall great service.

Needed to get vehicle inspected prior to leaving for business and they got my vehicle in and out within 1&1/2 hours. Very personal service, I will be trying Betterton & Whitlow for other vehicle services in the future.

Integrity-Yes! I Purchased the wrong brake rotor to complete my re inspection, It caused my ABS light to stay on. When I returned it to the shop they acknowledged that they shouldve also caught it. No charge to replace the correct part, and I wouldve totally understood if they dint.

A gentleman at this establishment was blatantly rude and disrespectful when I attempted to be helped this employee was having a regular conversation with another costumer as I came up I apologized for interrupting and proceeded to ask for help in regard to the business this employee rudely interrupted me and and told he would be eighth with me and proceeded to have his normal conversation that was not business related at all with the other costumer I do not recommend you visit this place at all unless you would like to have a rude encounter like this shaking my head .

Definitely old school, youll think u walked into a service station from the 70s, which is a good thing because these mechanics here know cars. Theyre reasonably priced and you dont have to wait a long time.

Best garage youll ever find! As a woman, I often feel ripped off when I go to get car maintenance done. These guys are fantastic! I have requested certain things to get done as preventative maintenance and they told me that they didnt need to get done at that time! These guys are so honest but thorough. This shop has done work on a number of my vehicles over the past two years. The reason I decided to write this review is because the past few times I have been here, my experience has not been great. It is stressful leaving a vehicle with them because there is a lack of communication and I never know what I will have to pay until I go to pick up the vehicle. There have been some surprising charges the past few times I went to pick up my car. Previously, I had justified going back because the work done seemed to be quality and the folks were friendly, however most recently when my brakes were done here, I had to pay another shop to adjust them as they were not properly adjusted. Now I can no longer justify coming here.

Honest shop and quality work!

When you find a trustworthy repair shop you stick with it. My family had been going to B&W for as long as I remember, and it has always been recommended. I have lived in this area off and on the past 10 years of my driving life. I do most of my own work, but if its something I cant do, I take it to them. They arent expensive, do honest work, and have always been accommodating to me. One time I replaced an upper control arm that was necessary to pass inspection. I took it in, and apparently hadnt tightened it enough, and the guy who does inspections not only passed me, but tightened it up for me, in order to pass. I dont think twice about going here, or recommending them to other people.

Not only did they not have the right equipment to test my car properly, it ended up costing me more because they didnt. On top of that, after shelling out about $50, they didnt help me on my speeding ticket even though they knew I just needed 2mph difference.They may be good for repairs and such, but look elsewhere if youre needing a calibration that will help you in court.

As a used car dealer it is great having a shop that looks after your best interest in a car. Would highly reccomend this establishment. Keep up the good work👍

Great staff. Everyone is friendly here that I have talked to. I needed to get my car inspected. I have gone and called at least 15 other places today. I have gotten ranges of excuses from other shops of 6 hr wait times to we only do drop offs. I had one place tell me they only do it at 8am and its first come first serve. They told me to come by and they would work me in. Great place and they will get more of my business. If you are looking for a different experience and want to support local a business this is the place to go!

Fantastic customer service and great prices. My power steering fluid was leaking on my 2005 Nissan Murano, and the dealership told me it would cost $600 to fix. Took it to Bobby and he fixed it for half the amount. Plus, they gave me a ride to and from the dealership. This was my first time using them, but now they will be my first call.

Stopped in for a state inspection today and everyone was so kind and helpful. Will definitely be back.

We brought in our car, it was having a lot of problems with a tire and engine. They checked it out, and let us know that we should contact our insurance because of the water damage before we do anything. Really nice guys. They really know their stuff. Our car ended up getting totaled, so any repairs would have been a complete waste of money. These guys saved us a lot! Will definitely come back when we have car troubles.

My husband and I have taken our cars to Betterton & Whitlow since the late 1990s. Not once have we felt like we have been overcharged or upsold. Repairs are made promptly and correctly the first time: Not once have we ever had to go back due to any ongoing problems after a repair was made. Brian has been a brilliant mechanic, and I believe that he treats customers like he would want to be treated. His careful inspection of a used car that I was considering purchasing prevented me from making a $5K mistake. When I needed locks repaired on two doors, he used parts from one door to fix the other so that I would only have to pay for parts for one door. He also fixed both locks AND repaired my transmission for less than what the Honda dealership on Battlefield Blvd wanted just to fix the locks! Having dealt with mechanics that were less than competent or fair prior to finding Betterton & Whitlow, I appreciate their always excellent service more than I can say.

BEST MECHANICS I KNOW... VERY HONEST AND NOT TOO EXPENSIVE... I SAW SOMEONE WROTE A BAD REVIEW BELOW... BC THEY WOULDNT HELP THEM SAYING HIS SPEEDOMETER WAS OFF BY 2MPH... SO HIS TICKET DIDNT GET DROPPED? OF COURSE THEY DIDNT. THEY ARE A LEGITAMENT BUSINESS AND HONEST PEOPLE..... SERIOUSLY A BAD REVIEW FOR THAT?

Highly recommend! I noticed we had an anti-freeze leak coming from near the back of the engine (NOT GOOD). I thought the job was gonna cost more than the car is worth - but luckily it wasnt what I thought it was. My wife remembered that one of her co-workers had been raving about the auto repair shop hed been using for many years (B&W). I called two or three other places first (but none of them seemed to know what the problem could be & all suggested bringing it in for a diagnosis - extra money - no thanks).I then called B&W & spoke to Bobby (the owner - a very friendly guy). I described the problem & w/out hesitation - he said it was likely a cracked intake manifold (common for the 98 Mustang 4.6L GT). Ford, in their wisdom, decided to use plastic (which breaks) - when they shouldve used metal... Fortunately, they learned from their mistake & all the new after-market intake manifolds have been redesigned with METAL - to prevent CRACKING (& come w/a limited lifetime warranty).So, Bobby fixed us up w/a brand new intake manifold - (at a price we feel was very reasonable - considering the complexity of the job & the time/labor involved). I have to say, these guys must be magicians because the Mustang is purring like a kitten & is running better than it has in YEARS!It took them a few days to complete the job (Bobby told me it was taking them a little longer than hed anticipated). Im now wondering if its because they spent a little extra time making a few other adjustments - to really get her dialed in? All I can say is - Im impressed! I dont know if I can recall a time when an auto repair shop exceeded my expectations (its rare). Good auto mechanics are VERY hard to FIND!!! They showed me my old intake manifold & where the crack was & did not try to up-sell me on anything that wasnt necessary... I even asked if any of our other fluids needed to be changed (Brake, Power Steering, Transmission) - & he said they all looked to be okay.Im truly amazed at how well the car is running! Bobby, if youre reading this - thank you again!!! If we need other work done - I KNOW WHO to call now.
