Were family now! Originally we went to a different dealership. The 1st dealership had us in a sour mood, so on the way home from them my fiancΓ© stopped at Greenbrier and were so glad he did. Catalina was PERFECTION at knowing exactly what I wanted and scouring through inventory, upcoming deliveries and even other dealerships to find what would make us happy. She truly is amazing. The next day we drove away in our 2021 Atlas. Terrance worked to get us well above book on our trade in, got us an amazing APR and provides lots of laughs along the way. Purchased luxury vehicle in Nov 2020Travel time: 2.5hr (live in a remote area)Issues:1) represented as immaculate condition when I asked about the vehicle since I had substantial travel -- later found a dent/paint missing (about 1 x 3) near the front drivers wheel2) when it came out of detailing it was still dirty, covered in crumbs & residue. after sending it back for a second round, STILL had crumbs, streaks, residue but I had already been there for 5 hours so I did not send it for a 3rd lap3) asked about a full tank -- left with less than 1/3. came back so they can fill it up and when I drove away the second time, it was only at 2/3 tank4) when I was signing, I confirmed I could refinance at any time, no penalties -- just now found that to be untrue as lender had actually changed their policy in early 2020I have ALWAYS purchased used and can honestly say private sellers offered a much more professional experience than this group. I would not recommend them to anyone.To compare: my sister purchased from a dealer 5+ hours away and they delivered, topped off the tank & re-detailed in our parking lot before she signed.

I was surprised that this Volkswagon dealer had any used Jeep vehicles being that it is a Volkswagon dealership. But, being that it is part of the Southern Auto Group that should come as no surprise!We signed a deal late Friday night (just before closing) and Christy (our salesperson) tried to get all we wanted done to the vehicle before business close Saturday (which she did near closing Saturday) so we decided to wait till Sunday to pick it upThe detail work for cleaning inside the car was fair (dirt particles still in back cargo area). But, the exterior shine, etc was excellent.Everything looked fine except the motor/ engine area which was coated with shop dust everywhere under the hood.They also did a state inspection and a 50 point inspection (which I am sure included looking at the oil levels, etc),yet, neglected to make under the hood look as good as the rest of the car.That is something other dealers would have addressed before turning the car over to the owners!Also, the final paperwork guy I saw did not have his act totally together! He was thorough on making sure I signed all the necessary paperwork HOWEVER some of myriad of forms we had to sign had multiple pages and quite a few of the pages were attached to the wrong form [thank goodness they have forms numbers at the bottom of the page]!I am deducting one point for how they detailed the car [overall] and how they organized the paperworkOther than that it was a fair experience....Would I buy another car there? Maybe? That is, if they improve on their deficiencies

Do not buy from this dealership they will scam you into $10,000 in fake warranties and you will be in the red with your car until youβre pretty much paid off. My mom was lied to about her lease and talked into buying another car and put in 15 K from the lease over because she was lied about how the mileage on a lease works then my brother bought from them as well and never bought in a car before he was talking to $10,000 in warranties that were not applied to his car when somebody hit him. My mom is almost 70 years old and thatβs just criminal. We will never buy from any southern dealership or any dealership remotely close to them.

Bought a used vehicle experience was good. However, part of the deal free oil changes and inspections. Great but dont wait when doing those. Every mechanic I see is taking their time as if they got all day, walking around with no sense of urgency! You will be waiting a minimum of 2hrs. Last time I went to get car inspected. 2hrs. Oil change 2hrs. Drop off or you will be wasting 2hrs.

Had a great experience at Southern Volkswagen! Charlie Roy was incredibly patient showing lot after lot after lot of used cars available in the Southern Auto Group family. Ive lost track of how many cars he found for my teenage daughter to test drive. And as you likely know, now is a very challenging time to find used cars in a reasonable price range---due to a chip shortage, which has shrunk the inventory of new cars---resulting in demand skyrocketing for used vehicles. But due to Charlies persistence, he found us a VW Jetta that was in our price range and had all the bells and whistles my daughter was looking for--she is thrilled and so am I. And as far as the wait in the dealership once we decided on the Jetta, I was stunned by how quickly Chris Hallal got me in and out of there with the final paperwork! It had to have been under 30 minutes--it might have been 20, if that long. Ive gotten two other cars from the Southern family for my two other daughters---we have never been disappointed with the service Charlie has provided!Kurt

Bought a used car, and for the most part everything went well but it been almost 10 months and a second key set was never given. The manager said that he was going to get at that time, but it has past over eight months since and no key. The salesman lend a car till my car was getting some corrections fix, three weeks after my car was delivered and not corrections were made. I gave two start because the price was right and they made the process easy to purchase the vehicle.
Dropped my car off 2nd week in July for an AC issue.. Did not get my car back until the 27th of August. Mike Barnes and Tim Champion are the worst associates I ever encountered. The entire time I was lied too about the status of my vehicle, excuse after excuse Was told 3 times my car would be ready to pick up and never was. No communication unless I called. They used caller ID to avoid my calls. Got the car back once and the tech did not put the steering column together properly and was making a clicking noise. Had to contact the sales manager because Mike Barnes wanted to play stupid and act like he knew nothing even being the service MANAGER. They gave my husband a loaner vehicle with a 26 inch crack in the windshield, dirty, old food bags, prescription meds etc and smoke infested.Was Promised the car to be detailed 2x and never got done. They tech got grease all over my visor, the sad part is Tim said it was detailed . lies Picked up vehicle for 2nd time and ONCE AGAIN ture light was on and tires were at 17PSI. The service dept had done this on a prior visit as well, another left oil cap off, and this time my steering column was assembled wrong!!! Safety hazards. Both associates deserve to be fired for the prolonged issues they caused. They asked for my statement claiming VW would make a paYment due to the inconvenience however when I called this morning they had received NOTHING. I will never buy here again as long as those two are in the service dept.. Everytime my car has had a safety concern and they dont even care.. TIM ASSURED ME nothing like that would happen again and he was so sorry about the other 2x.. then they put a main component together incorrectly.. after speaking with some other service people. Had that piece broke off the steering would have went out in my vehicle and thats scary to think their service dept are doing things like this. MIKE BARNES doesnt deserve to be a service manager because he claims he knows nothing his associates are doing or saying including screening calls which he also said was unaware of. The sales manager Terrance followed up with me after making sure they took the vehicle back to fix it properly NOT TIM, NOT MIKE. Now Im concerned why they asked for my statements if there is no record of reimbursement on file. Worst thing nobody has even called us back regarding the whole ordeal. 37 days for an AC blowing warm air.. Then Tim had the nerve to accuse that I had a miscommunication issue where I told Terrance he can go listen to the calls because Tim is dishonest and unprofessional.

Edit: Changing my previous 4 star rating (no write up was done at the time) from 7 months ago.**If you take your car to this dealership please double check to make sure they actually did the work**I recently moved from Virginia to Maryland and as a result I had to switch dealerships. During a recent service appointment at the VW dealership in Maryland, I asked why my overhead roof ambient lighting did not work despite having the recall performed that reinstalled the fuses. The dealership informed me that the fuses were never re-installed despite the fact that Southern VW had taken credit for this recall.VW issued a recall last year that disabled the overhead roof ambient lighting as there was a potential fire hazard. VW later issued another recall that re-enabled this lighting, this is the recall I am referring to. At the time I did not notice that the lighting did not work because it was still daylight when I picked up the vehicle.The pictures included with the review show that the fuses have not been install nor was the wire harness reconnected. Also included is a screen shot showing a redacted version of my bill. It shows that Southern VW had completed the recall and reinstalled the fuses. It was very disappointing to find out that this had been done. As a result of this event it has led me to question all work that was completed by this dealership.

I have personally bought two cars from here and my family owns a business and we have bought 20 cars over the past years. customer service is terrible the service department itβs terrible I give them a +0 a few months ago I went for all the change And I need it only the back windshield wiper change they went ahead and changed all of it they not charge me and now the windshield wipers are giving me trouble because they put cheap ones and I have expensive ones I only go to this place because my car has free service from there and I have extended warranty for eight years but they are terrible I will never buy another car from the dealership!!!

The services department price gouges to the point of fraud!!! I had a small plastics piece come off of my car and requested a quote for the part and labor. The service team member state that they discontinued making for that style of part for my car. The new style was 160.00 for the part and that I should by 2. The labor would be 300.00. In 1 minute in the waiting area I found the exact part on Carparts.com for 44.95 and my husband placed it with no tools. This type of markup and price gouging is disgusting, deplorable and the reason why the auto service industry is one of the Most mistrusted. I will never go her again. I plan on sharing my experience with everyone in the NAVY stationed in Hampton Roads
The service department has not been communicating with me and I have had my vehicle in their shop since Wednesday night. All I have asked for is a State inspection, oil change, and to have my air bag light cleared. The one who is servicing my vehicle has not talked to me at all about the status of my vehicle.

I bought a car on 01/30/21. I had a horrible experience at this particular store. The sales associate did not know much about the car. I had to YouTube a lot of the features on the car. Additionally the manager at the store was rude. I was directed to another manager and when I discussed our interaction, his response was, Im just like him. I did buy the car from this facility but it was not due to the customer service. I liked the car, it was what I was looking for and the CarFax was good. Not once did a manager say Congratulations or thank you for purchasing the car. When I completed the financial part for warranty of the car; the person that collects payment had left for the day. They asked if I could come back to make the payment on another day. I also asked for my second key and I was informed that they couldnt find it but they will look for it and have it ready when I come back. Very unprofessional all the way around.I have had the car that I purchased from them for 7 days and when I turn the heat on it makes noise. I am taking it back for them to fix it. Hopefully it can be resolved. If you are looking for top notch customer service this is not the place to go. There are several car dealership that will be glad to have your business and will treat you with respect. I would not recommend Southern Volkswagen- Greenbrier!

I scheduled my appointment for 9:30am for a simple oil change and nothing else, that was my first mistake. Appointment times mean nothing, because I was on time and it wasnβt until 9:45 that my car was moved and 9:50 my advisor was done with paper work. Fast forward an hour and a half to 11:15am when Iβm checking to see if my car was done because it should only take 20 minutes TOPS! Also since my advisor and other shop employees had time to stand around he informed me it βshouldβ be done, which if it should be done why was I still waiting? Come to find out they hadnβt even started it! I canβt stand incompetence and will never even step foot on their property again!

My vehicle has been at Southern Volkswagen in Greenbrier (part of Southern Auto Group) for almost 5 months for the same issue! Iβve paid them over $3500 to fix it and theyβve yet to get it back to me for more than a few days without it breaking down again with the same symptoms. I spend hours each week at this dealership and have talked to everyone up to the Vice President about this issue and they refuse to make it right by refunding my money. Iβve paid them to fix an issue and they havenβt fixed the issue I brought it to them for back in March. Its still there but somehow they justify that they are doing a good job and should keep my money. Iβve been late for work several times when my car broke down after they supposedly fixed it. Iβve taken time off work and away from my family to deal with them. Iβve tried calling the owner but he wonβt call me back. Iβve given them several opportunities to make it right by refunding my money so I can take it somewhere elseβ¦. but they refuse. Instead they insist on holding on to it swapping out parts (at my expense) until they figure out the problem. They say that all 8 repairs theyβve had to do to my car are legitimate because my VW is not new. I guess all those things just βhappened β to go at once. Apparently this is appropriate business practices to them.
I am so pleased with the experience I had at Southern VW on 5/22/21. I went in, met Charlie Roy and immediately knew he was going to take care of me and my car needs. I was trading in a used car and they gave me top dollar, which allowed me to purchase a 2021 Tiguan. Charlie knew every single detail about the VW. It was very clear he knew the VW product. Chris in the finance office tied everything up and was quick and detailed about the financing. The car was detailed and was ready at the very time it was promised. Charlie then sat in the car with me and went over every instrument and itβs use. He ensured I did not have any questions before I left. Outstanding dealership, I just bought a VW Tiguan, my sales assistant was Michelle who was first class and then concluded the deal with Matt Seyfert the General Manager who went above and beyond. He even lent me a magnetic bow when I handed over the keys to my daughter. I never enjoy buying a car, but this felt very different and was a highly positive experience.

Bad experience it took us 6 hours inside the dealer to walk out with what I hope a good car and just average deal the team manager pushy the sales lady needs training the paper work labor was long long.I Was there from 3 pm till 9 pm hungry and angry defetnly the worst car buying experience in my whole life not recommend at all

Went in for an oil change today & the service was cool but from a safety standpoint several people were not wearing face masks or facial coverings. There was a male guest that did not have on a facial covering and was casually conversing with a team member that was not wearing a face mask. The cashier as well as another employee on the sales side were also not wearing face masks which was pretty concerning.

Shady practices. We were trading in an Acura to purchase a new car. This dealership was offering us thousands less than what the car is worth. We get Acura will naturally give us more, but even Chevrolet was offering us more for the car. Stay away unless you want to get ripped off.
Im a current Volkswagen customer who has a Jetta. I called to get information about leasing a new jetta and the sales rep was terrible. He didnt answer any of my questions and essentially said he couldnt help me. I knew exactly what car I wanted on their lot with money in hand to put down. This dealer lost a sale because the sales rep. wanted nothing to do with me.
