Pathway Eye is probably the best placed I have ever been to with my children and for myself!! I really appreciate the way the Doctor was with my kids and how he took him time to make sure they were taken care of properly!! The opticians helped my daughter pick out a pair of glasses that fit her face and were super cute!! The front desk staff are so fun and very helpful!! The techs were sweet and efficient!! Thanks Pathway Eye!! You have us for life!!

My sister recommended me this place and I was pleased by their quality of customer care. Having appointment times for either before work or after work is nice if you do not want to miss time from your work day. Also, they have a great variety of eye glasses and a great selection of sunglasses. I am glad I switched over to Pathway Eye and look forward to continuing to come here for my eye exams.

This is a very nice place. I was able to get an appointment within a week. I didn’t have to wait once I checked in. Staff was very nice and friendly. The place was very clean. I would definitely recommend going here.

Dr. Sechler was great and immediately identified my allergic reaction to my eye drops prescribed from another optometrist. He also admitted when he wanted me to get a second opinion. Not a fan of the referral practice, but I appreciated his knowledge. The practice was also responsive and got me in the same day with a medical need.

I’ve never had an experience at a doctors office like we had at Pathway! from the very first greeting by the staff to the kindness and professionalism of the assistant and doctor, we were blown away. Everyone is so kind and welcoming and makes you feel like family. Best experience!

I am not a patient here but the screw in my glasses had started to come loose. I gave them a cal and I brought my glasses in and they fixed them for me free of charge! The guy that helped me was super nice!

I had an appointment yesterday afternoon, my first time back since the pandemic. The main office nurse was not wearing a mask upon my entry, and I kindly asked her if she could wear a mask, as I was uncomfortable with that. She was extremely rude and unkind in return with a mocking tone saying that she was JUST at the dentists which has absolutely nothing to do with not wearing a mask in a doctors office. Eventually she put on a mask. The main doctor also kept pulling down his mask below his mouth during our appointment when he was literally inches from my nose and mouth checking my eyes, and the front desk staff were not wearing masks until I approached.For this being a professional doctors office, I was extremely uncomfortable and confused by the lack of seriousness around mask wearing. Even if the staff was all vaccinated, I have no way of knowing that so choosing not to wear a mask with nearly 30 million people dead in the US....no thank you. I will not be returning to Pathway Eye / Chattanooga Eye Care.

Eye exam was fast and the staff was nice but was told 2 to 2.5 on glasses and its been 5 weeks and still not in. I called a week or so ago and the reply I got wasnt exactly friendly either.

The two young ladies that helped my wife and I were awesome. Dr. Spencer was great as well. I would recommend anyone needing eye care to visit them. You will be very pleased and satisfied. Thanks again to the whole staff at Chattanooga Eye Care!!!

Exam was painless. No puffs of air. Bright lights were minimal and from the side. Stephanie was extremely helpful prepping for the dr. Dr was engaging and accommodating for my diabetic needs. A+

It was my first time having my eyes checked in a little over 9 years. It was time to have them checked out again. 😅 I reside in Georgia but work in Chattanooga. I did my research for a place to visit and according to the reviews, this was the place to go to. I could not be happier with my choice! From the moment I walked in to the moment I left - it was nothing but a kind and welcoming atmosphere. The place is very clean, professional and has a great selection of trendy frames. I don’t even remember waiting to be seen. It was fast and prompt. Highly recommend! Waiting on my glasses to come in! 🤩

My previous optician retired, so I had to find a new place to go. In looking at the reviews I decided to try Chattanooga Eye Care. I am happy to say they exceeded my expectations in every way. The staff was friendly and helpful, the Dr was thorough but quick, and the overall experience was wonderful.

Awful customer service. Tried to give me a lower prescription and said I’d be ok I just wouldn’t be able to see as well but it would get me through.... “Kinsley” didn’t disclose she gave me the wrong prescription, thankfully I checked. After I mentioned it she said she didn’t feel comfortable giving me the right prescription in a different brand, but apparently felt comfortable giving me a significantly lower prescription contact.

I had a foreign object in my eye. The next morning, I called due to excruciating pain. The front desk got me in that morning. Dr. Sechler was very professional and friendly. He removed the object, explained the process, and gave me clear instructions on how to follow up. My pain subsided within minutes. I’m very happy I decided to give them a call!

Reasonable service, but their price points for glasses for ~5 year olds are obscene. $420 for frames? Eyeglass world: Go there.

I rated low score simply due to poor Customer Service from both front desk assistants/receptionists.Today was the worst customer service experience that I’ve ever encountered at Chattanooga Eye Care. Aside from my appointment “not in the system”, I tried to pay cash for my deductible, the receptionist advised that they don’t accept any bills larger than a $20. Instead of OFFERING for a different method of payment, she immediately offered to reschedule my appointment. Luckily I had my checkbook & was able to conclude with a pleasant visit with the physician.

Very happy with my experience here as a new patient! I had no wait time at all from the time I arrived, the tech was efficient and friendly, and Dr. Sechler was both personable and professional. In and out in less than 30 minutes, which I loved! He helped me find a solution for my dry eyes.Unrelated to the appointment experience but equally exciting, parking is a pleasant surprise considering the location in downtown Chattanooga.

Customer service is A++Very pleased with the doctor and my exams. Unfortunately, my initial fitting of glasses had been a constant problem. Upon return for yet another adjustment, they immediately offered to correct the issue. I was pleasantly surprised as I had decided to change facilities. It is such an uncommon practice anymore to rectify an issue that wasn’t the fault of the customer. Chattanooga Eye Care has proved that customer satisfaction is their number one priority and has gained a customer for life! I highly recommend the doctor and services.

Not for sure why this company has United Healthcare vision insurance on their main website as an approved insurance provider, but I show up for an appointment and am told that they do not accept them. The front desk staff told me that they stopped taking them about 90 days ago and just havent updated their website yet. Although the staff was very nice and stated they were sorry, I would appreciate it more if someone from that company would just update their website, so customers are not misled and end up wasting their time and gas. Complete waste of my time away from work so maybe I should send them a bill for that lost time!

Friendly and helpful office staff, doctor has great personality and answers questions clearly. They were able to do back to back appointments for my husband and I which was very convenient. Great downtown location.

2021: Oh, how I miss Chattanooga Eye Care! Went back for an exam (no problems at all) and new glasses. I asked them to order the exact same frames, OVVO 3573 50GM (brought them with me so there would be no confusion), and they order OVVO 3573 50. Different finish; gloss versus gun metal (GM). I was told the 50GM model was no longer available. Funny how the OVVO Optics website says differently. The new frames after they attempt multiple times to adjust do not fit right and the gloss finish is chipping off after one month. My wife and I will never return to Pathway Eye Care.** Not going to get into the issues my wife experienced.2019 (Chattanooga Eye Care): Clean office and courteous staff. They took everything I said into consideration and immediately diagnosed my condition. Finally, an eye care office that actually listened.

UPDATE: Spoke with another receptionist and she was very nice to ask what happened. I have since made an appointment elsewhere, but may give another chance in the future. I have updated from one star to three stars for now.Didnt even get a chance to walk in the door and had the worst experience with the receptionist. I figured out the insurance information she needed and called the receptionist back with an answer and the contact for my insurance in order to verify but before I could finish she CUT ME OFF MID-SENTENCE and puts me on hold for five more minutes at which I had to hang up and text her to cancel my appointment. I get it, paper work is tricky and meticulous but she didnt have to be rude.

Chattanooga Eye Care was great all the way around. The atmosphere was comfortable and the staff was very friendly. The registration was fast and simple. The Tech, Chloe was wonderful and I loved Dr Sechler! He explained everything thoroughly as we went through the exam. He gladly answered any questions I had. The exam equipment was very advanced. I am very confident that I was given the best eye exam I have ever had! I highly recommend Chattanooga Eye Care.

As a new patient I found it very helpful that I was able to fill out my information online prior to my visit. When I arrived I was immediately greeted and after a short wait the Technician took me to begin testing. She was very knowledgeable and made me feel at ease as she ran the various scans. When it was time for the actual exam she ran the eye chart test which is much better now than the standard old chart were all familiar with. Then Dr. Sechler came in, completed the exam and took time to explain the results of the prior retinal scan and other testing.The Frame Lady is hilarious, knowledgeable and helpful. Im looking forward to getting my new glasses. Overall a very positive experience.

Great staff and customer service. My one complaint is that they make you pay $70-$125 out of pocket up front for a contact fitting before they will give you your contact prescription. This is not a service you should be required to pay for to receive you prescription. It should be included in the price of the exam.

Had an eye emergency and had just moved to town. Was able to get an appointment within an hour, they sent the new patient survey to me ahead of time to do online, and were able to quickly and easily identify a bacterial infection and get me fixed up. It was such a relief and a good experience when you don’t know anything about the place and are taking a shot in the dark. Glad I did!

I was visiting my daughter in Chattanooga and woke up with pretty severe pain in my right eye. Called the Chattanooga Eye Care clinic at 9:30; they worked me into their schedule, diagnosed as scratched cornea and called in Rx by 11:30! Dr. Senschler did an awesome job as well as the staff!! Can’t really “rate” my experience because I had an appointment that I made months ago, confirmed the appointment, took off work, got there and there was a note on the door saying they were closed for training. I never got a call, text, email, OR letter saying they were closed or asking to reschedule. VERY disappointed and it was such a waste of time. Very unprofessional.

I had an eye emergency, and couldnt find any eye doctors who were still working through this quarantine period, even for emergencies. I was about to go to the ER. One of the places I called told me about Dr. Sechler, thank goodness. I was able to text his office a pic of my eye, and he made an appointment for me to come in. He was able to explain things to me super personably, and prescribed medicine for my eye.There is actually a parking lot for his practice - you dont have to pay to park, and it is super easy to find on Market Street, and easy to exit. For people who feel more comfortable texting, his office texts, if thats how you want to make an appointment. My whole experience was such a relief in every way. I highly recommend Dr. Sechler.

Had a great first experience here! The only room for improvement would be in the patient information collection protocols. I entered all my information (insurance, DOB, etc) online for the appointment and then had to fill it all out again when I got to the clinic.

I hadn’t been to an ophthalmologist since I was a kid and was very nervous. The receptionist staff was very knowledgeable and professional. The Doctor was very kind and gave me lots of information. I would definitely recommend this office. I work in customer service and they are amazing.

I needed new glasses and found Chattanoga Eye Care with my insurance. Although the actual eye doctor was incredibly nice and informative the women who helped me purchase my glasses was obviously in a rush and being pretty rude and unhelpful. I practically had to drag the details of my purchase out of her as far as insurance/ warranty etc. you could tell she just want me to leave so she could end her day.After deciding I wanted to purchase contact lenses in addition to my glasses I returned to Chattanooga Eye Care. I had previously tried a sample but lost them during a move. I asked for a new sample so I could eventually purchase a pack. The woman behind the counter barely said anything and just handed me a print out of my prescription. She did not explain anything until I asked her if I was supposed to order a set myself. It was only then she informed me they didnt have any samples and she turned around to do something else. And that was the end of my conversation with this very unhelpful lady.I also find the fact that they didnt have ANY samples extremely hard to believe. I work in customer service and 1/10 am not impressed with theirs. I lost my previous samples (yes my fault) but now have to try and purchase contacts outline without even knowing what kind I prefer! Poor poor service.

I would rank Dr. Sechler on the A List of doctors anywhere. He was vital to the successful outcome of my recent eye surgery by helping me communicate my vision objectives to the surgeon. I carried the notes that he had taken the time to write out for me into surgery.
