Discovered this little shop after visiting the aquarium, having lunch at Basecamp and exploring the pedestrian bridge!It has a good variety of gift options for all ages, some local wares, and an interesting candy and odd drink selection!!!Just the right amount of quirky and I LOVE this blue panda!!!! 💙 💙

What a fun little shop that has something for everyone! I couldve spent hours smelling all their candles and looking around. Thank you to their amazing staff, especially Maddie, for helping me find all the plant-related items. Ill be back for sure!

Make sure you check the prices was overcharged at the register. Today April 22, 2021 went to ask about being overcharged female very rude. She wouldnt hear me out about being charged $22 for cotton candy and a small amount of candy. So I left, too bad for a new store to be so rude. All of what I wrote is true, but the owner has reached out to me very concerned, and has made me feel much better. Im very pleased to add this to my review.

Great nostalgic shop to visit while in the heart of Chattanooga. This place is full of memories, amazing charm and great gifts for all occasions. When I walked in a was transported into another world. I loved all the Chattanooga centered gifts as well as the southern sayings! Staff was friendly and nice!

My family recently visited the Boxcar General Store and had a wonderful experience! The store is perfectly situated across from the Chattanooga Choo Choo. There are a variety of gifts and goodies for the whole family. The staff is very helpful and friendly. My kids are begging to go back!

We absolutely LOVE this store and concept. Chattanooga was long overdue for this type of store...a place to combine local goods with nostalgia. There is absolutely something for everyone—vintage toys from my childhood, gag gifts for my 5 year old, gifts for my girlfriends and I even got in some early Christmas shopping. And the CANDY! THE CANDY! Smarties, fire balls, lemon heads, dots, fizzies, pez..you want it, they got it. The staff is incredibly friendly and the Boxcar theme fits perfectly sitting across from the Choo Choo Hotel. This will definitely be a place I take out of town guests for its fun atmosphere and unique inventory.

They have a few candies youd have trouble finding elsewhere, but other than that, its your basic tourist gift shop downtown.
