Nice gift shop for the Chattanooga area, not only for the Chattanooga choo choo. Very nice staff and interesting selection of unique items.

I decided to make a day trip with my fiance and we stopped in the staff was so friendly to myself and him I ended up coming back and buying a necklace and the lady checking me out was very nice will be back. 😊😊

This place has an amazing selection of novelties, literature, and things Chattanooga. It is a must go for people with Chattanooga area roots and a fantastic place for tourists to find a memorable item to reflect our Scenic City. The staff is helpful and genuine. Next time I have guests not familiar with our gem of a city I will definitely take them to Sweetly Southern.

The owner of this store flies the Blue Lives Matter flag outside of their shop. If you are any ally or POC do not support this business. There are plenty of other gift shops around Chattanooga to support. Try Locals Only on Frazier Ave.

Cute, fun shop with unique gifts for everyone and a super friendly, helpful staff! This is definitely more than your average souvenir shop ~ I love shopping here for birthday & Christmas presents.

The cashiers were more concerned with talking to one another, than assisting customers. I grew up going to these shops, when the hotel was operated by Hilton hotels. Now, just a big tourist shop with items you could buy anywhere. Before, glass blowing shop, homemade candy store, items from local artisans. Not worth the stop.

Instead of Sweetly Southern they should change their name to Really Rude. Dont expect polite service, and expect to feel as if you are totally in the way. Plenty of other places to go buy trinket-style junk - dont bother stopping here.

Im in here semi-often and I think the staff are wonderful people, and very helpful with visitors in my experience.

I have lived in Chattanooga for over 57 years, and never have I experienced such rude treatment. Not only were my grandchildren treated with utter disrespect, but my daughter who tried to have a civil conversation regarding the matter with the retail staff was treated even worse. I witnessed her returning later to speak with the owner, Donovan, who disregarded her concern and showed sarcasm, arrogance and condescension to a woman who simply wanted to talk. He clearly has no proper manners, nor does he know how to effectively treat customers. He and his staff need to take courses in retail and hospitality, although given his personality, I’m not convinced they would be impactful. Do not shop here. They are awful.

The retail staff was incredibly rude to my teenage children, and when I approached them regarding the situation was met with crass rudeness as well. I returned a few days later and spoke with Donovan, whom is in charge, and he did not care one bit. I also spoke with multiple staff at the Choo Choo hotel front desk who said they receive multiple complaints about the poor demeanor of the staff at Sweetly Southern. Apparently, nothing “sweet” about this establishment.

This place is a place to go shop for any occasions! They have so many beautiful unique gifts and memorabilia that tourists as well as locals residents can buy!

My family was treated unkindly here. The cashier ladies were rude and when my daughter asked to speak with the manager, Donovon, it turns out his wife is the lady who was rude to her and my grandchildren. My daughter attempted a conversation, but was interrupted as she spoke and then walked away from while she was trying to clear the air. Ignored. Treated as though she did not matter. In a failed effort to attempt to give himself some credibility, Donovon bragged that he was in the Army. Well, I served in the Air Force and at no point would any branch of the military have been proud of his treatment of a lady. I will never give this place any of my business.

I will just say I visited today and found the owner, a woman who says shes been there for 45 years, to be very unfriendly. This patch of original Choo-Choo logo (note Hilton logo on coal car) is available for purchase at front desk, not at this store.
