Called Thames Garage Door Repair chaska on Thursday, they were at my house Friday. I know nothing about overhead doors, they were able to figure out what I was describing over the phone and sent a well trained and fully equipped technician to my home to fix the problem. The issue wasnt as bad as thought so it ended up being a much quicker and easier fix. They could have easily sold me things I didnt need, but didnt take that road. Highly recommend!
I called Thames to get a quote on a new garage door opener. I did get the opener and the service was good, and the installers were very nice. After I had the service done, I found out I was very overcharged. Unfortunately I didnt do enough research before I had the service done. When I called to talk to someone about the price, I was not given much help by Thames. From what I can piece together, they are not really a local firm. They have people all over the country taking calls and farming out the repairs. I wanted to talk to a manager or supervisor, but was given to the installer, who said management sets the price, but couldnt give me a name of anyone to talk to. He said the labor was high because of the construction of my garage, which he couldnt explain. There is nothing different about my garage. Just rafters, like normal. He took out the old opener and put in the new one. No special labor needed to be done. After calling several times to Thames and getting several different people, one man said he would have the manager call me, and then started laughing at me and then hung up. My labor rate was extremely high, and they doubled the cost of the garage door opener that I think they got at Home Depot. I feel like I got taken advantage of. I would not recommend this company.

Installer was one of the finest people that has ever worked at our home. We made a special call to management to advise them of this employees excellent work skills. These guys were great, called yesterday, had a tech scheduled first thing in the morning. James called 30 minutes before his arrival was here dead on time. Diagnosed the problem with the door quickly, got the fix done, adjusted the garage door opener, made some other tuning type adjustments and my door is working like new. Called Thames Garage Door Repair chaska at 7a.m. today and the springs on the garage door were fixed by 10:00 a.m. He probably wouldve finished sooner, had I not talked so much. The gentleman who fixed the door came earlier than expected. The dispatcher lady said somewhere between 9 and 11. The installer was very courteous and personable. I am very satisfied with the job that was done, and hope to open and close the garage door thousands of more times.
