Hours of business said closes at 1pm left a job got there at 1243 doors locked up! Ive never had a good experience with this place! TERRIBLE!!!!

Called in to make a specialty order and they suggested it wouldnt be a problem. They found out later that they werent going to be able to make the order but did not contact me. After a couple of weeks I called them to check on the status and was told that they couldnt place the order after all. I think basic courtesy and customer service would have been to let me know. This is why people conduct most of their shopping online these days.

The guys who work at and manage the local Fastenal store are knowledgeable, friendly, and helpful. The company however does not carry a number of the smaller speciality machine screws commonly used by the firearms industry. This often leaves me with a great local store that cannot help me. Yet if you are looking for common sizes and pitches they can most likely help you out.

Bought 1 box of specialty screws there. The order came through as expected and cost me thirty dollars and change which was roughly equivalent to Lowes... Ordered second box a week later on a Monday to be picked up on Wed. On Wed I was told that they didnt see the order in the system. Then, after some prodding on my part, the clerk tried again and said they have a box without my name on it in the store, but after 5 minutes of looking he couldnt find it. He ordered it again for me and said it would be there Thursday. When I came in on Thursday, the store manager was there and when he looked it upon the system he said that I had already picked it up....lol He showed me a receipt that had my signature on it online and that I picked it up on the twentieth... With my problem unresolved he then left me to help someone else. After about twenty seconds of getting my head on straight, I realized that the order on the twentieth was indeed my order received the prior week and not the order I had placed and not received on the twenty seventh...lol When he returned to the desk after helping the other customer, I informed him that the twentieth was last week... He then looked again and said that he saw the order but it hadnt arrived... Apparently, it had shipped from Indianapolis instead of North Carolina thus explaining the extra shipping day... A drag but I could deal with that... When I arrived to pick up my order on Friday, the original clerk was there and after a few minutes of computer searching and looking he returned with the box containing my order. I was smiling at that point, relieved that the comedy of errors was over, or so I thought... When he told me that my total was $126 my smile was gone... When I asked him why he was charging me 400 % more than the original order for the same quantity of screws he told me that somehow I had made off with 100 screws and not 50...Needless to say I didnt appreciate the inference of thievery on my part to compensate for his incompetence...lol It got rough from that point and I left without the screws telling him that I didnt appreciate his lackadazical dearth of tact and effort and to F... Off... I then got online and ordered 90 of the same screws from Menards for $44 including shipping... A painful lesson in excessive patience on my part with incompetence and clerical lethargy, as I lost a week on my project, but maybe this long winded story will save others from the same trouble with this bunch....
