.... Really???Said they were working on it when they only looked at it for 25min and left it on the jack for 45min. Then gave me a list of this they found.Machine said dont do anymore work on this one. Dont ask for any pertrip service its a waste of money.

A couple years ago they told me I needed to replace my brake pads ASAP. I took it to a different mechanic who said the brakes were fine. Went more than 1.5 years before I ended up needing to replace them. They also used far too much torque force on the wheel lug nuts and twice cross-threaded the nuts, which required replacing the studs. I recommend going elsewhere.

I woke up Saturday to a TPMS light illuminated on my dashboard. After looking at my tire, I discovered a nail. Cody Collier and team at University Tire and Auto Center did an outstanding job fixing my tire. They were courteous, quick, and convenient. Thanks guys for saving my weekend!

Cody Marrs and Cody Collier, really nice guys! Got a flat tire after work late in the day when everyone was closing down near Forest Lake Food Lion. Cody Marrs tells me he can come personally after their shop closes at 6pm and help me with my spare. Within 30 minutes he was over and had changed the tire to my spare. Took my CRV to them the next day; and was able to quote me a fair price for the Michelin Defenders that I wanted. Tireracks price was $730 for 4 (from prior experience with Tirerack... Im guessing a typical $70 installation fee would be normal at any place youll go for it). Cody M. gave me a quote for $800 including parts and labor. I also got some other work (transmission fluid flush, wheel alignment) done so the total bill came out to ~ $1200 after tax; which was OK. Also let me know me about some future preventative maintenance too look out for; which is nice to know, but also could be an upsell/cross-sell (probably pretty typical of a service shop). Worked in the area, so the manager Cody Collier gave me a courtesy shuttle back and forth to my office while my car was being worked on and we had a nice detailed chat about the work and recommendations. After getting my car back, I noticed the tire-pressure indicator light was on; measured my tires with my tire pressure gauge and 3 tires were a bit over-inflated (possibly from warming in the sun) and Cody M. took care of that right away. Nice guys, polite, fair price, you can tell Cody M. takes pride in his work. As with any auto shop, I always recommend knowing what the condition of your car is to the best possible extent possible, so you can make informed decisions and get as fair a deal as possible.

I scheduled an appointment on Monday April 12, 2021 for today Friday April 16, 2021 at 10:00AM to have 4 new tires, oil change, state inspection, and full alignment done on my 2016 Subaru Outback. I was told University Tire was the best place to go. I dropped my car off at 9:30am and when I called I was initially told the car was ready then told it wasnt and that there is only one mechanic and he is working on inspections. I went over to the shop after my car has sat there all day and was told the reason why the tires, oil change, and alignment wasnt done is because it was in line for inspection, to my reply it wouldnt pass inspection without the new tires! I was told oh we didnt know that. I am so disappointed in your lack of professionalism and obvious lack of customer service and attention to details. I called the Ruckersville location to try and reach someone in the corporate office and explained no one is answering the phone and was told by this location to keep calling back eventually someone will answer!! WOW I had to have these tires done today cause I was supposed to drive to West Virginia tomorrow morning and now NOT!!!! Thank you for nothing. Worst experience ever and you should be embarrassed by the performance of these two stores but especially your location on Airport Road.....I guess $1000 dollars worth of business and a satisfied customer is not on your radar or a priority! Good Luck to you and I will make sure I tell everyone I know not to use University Tire & Auto Centers ANYWHERE in Charlottesville/Crozet/Orange/Ruckerville!!!!!!!! WOW just awful!

Very good customer service, professional, and work done on my truck was completed in a timely. Great guy at the front desks, Dakota. He can help you with whatever you need! While I waited for my vehicle, Dakota took time answer some questions about rims & tires. He explained to me what options were available to me as I considered changing my tire rims from 15” to 16”. I have very minimal options for tires for my truck right now. His explanation of tire details and what I can now do on tire selecting has made me a happy person. Next week when I come back, I will be happier with Dakota and University Tire and Auto, Forest Lakes.

Ive been going to this University tire for alittle over a year. I was suggested this over my dealership. Everytime I go, I always feel at home and suggested only things that are required for my car with no extra beef attached. Just today I had ran over a screw in the Target parking lot, took it up there and was in and out within 20 minutes free of charge since my tires are under warranty there. I highly recommend University Tire for any auto repair needs.

The guys in this shop were awesome!! They were patient with me, they took their time fixing my vehicle instead of rushing through it, and they even fixed a minor problem I had with my door without charging me. Horrible experience told me up front would be approximately two hours 8 hours later I still dont have my vehicle back to get a state inspection When I spoke withCorey He said the inspection was done they were putting the inspection sticker on now I told him to send someone to pick me up 1 hour went by and no one had showed up my son came home from work and I had him take me there when I arrived my truck was sitting behind the building with the same inspection sticker on it as when I arrived I hate when people lie like

Dakota had exceptional customer service. He was at the counter all by himself the phones. Phones were ringing off the hook yet he took the time to talk to me and explain everything to me that needed to be done to my car. I was so grateful and thankful that Dakota helped me today. He even showed me the burnt out headlight fuse that he replaced he went over in detail all the issues that he found what the cost was going to be. He worked me in at the last minute. My car was making a funny noise and I was concerned about it. He diagnosed it and fixed it and explained everything in depth even though I didn’t really understand what he was saying 🤓he took the time to explain it and answer any questions I had. I will definitely go back but only if I can work with Dakota he was awesome! 👍

I brought my fiancé’s car in for 2 tires a while back and you guys were very quick and very reasonably priced. I appreciate the friendliness of the service writers and speediness of the techs. I will definitely be coming back for other repairs and more tires!

I purchased a new set of tires and they damaged all 20 lugs on my car by using the wrong size tool to tighten them. The result was lugs so swollen I couldnt use my factory tire iron to take them off if I got a flat. They refused to take responsibility, told me this just happens and left me to buy a whole new set. There is no way this just happens to ALL 20 lugs at the same time after taking it to University once. Ive had the tires off for rotation and replacement 13 times before this with no issue. If you want careful, quality service, avoid this shop.

Gave me a price on my wifes car for 4 tires. got a call the next day, saying no these tires wont work i needed tires that were $15 per tire and somehow the price went to $701, an increase of over $150 over the first estimate. I am sure this will probably work on some people, but not on me. Costco quoted me under $600 for better tires. I will never go back there for anything. BEWARE!

Dakota and Cody went above and beyond today. They explained the tire options that would work best for me and were able to get my inspection sticker updated. Dakota even stayed past his shift to make sure I got a shuttle this evening back to the shop! Great service!

I purposely drove to this UTAC location (farthest from my home) on 7/1/20 because of the better reviews. I called to make an appt. for a synthetic oil change (previously bought on Groupon) and possibly new brakes. Surprisingly, Cody said I could bring my car in right then if I was available to. I didnt end up needing new breaks, but my tires were worn and I needed my brake fluid changed. Cody was really informative and helpful explaining everything along the way. While in the waiting room, a gentleman told be that he trusts Cody and has been buying tires from him for the past two years. I ended up doing both and with a $40 rebate on the tires. I believe I was there for about two hours.This cost me TOTAL $813.93 ($50 oil change, $379.96 4 tires, $79.80 mount/balance, $2 VA tire tax, $12 disposal fee, free protection plan, $94.56 alignment, $129.95 brake fluid exchange, $416.31 labor, $28.26 supplies, $38.40 sales tax). I would reccomend this location 😊

Seemed like a good crew over there. Had to get a set of rear rotors and brake pads installed, but Johnny was very straight forward and very price conscientious when he talked to me. I would feel comfortable using them again for work. Traditionally I would have gone to Airport Auto, but University Tire & Auto had better prices and I didnt feel like I was being rushed to make decisions like I am across the street. I am happy I chose to go with them and though I dont look forward to shelling out more money they seemed honest and would trust them.

The first time I took my car to the Tire & Auto Center, I had a screw in my tire causing a slow leak. I was told that it could not be fixed and I’d have to purchase a new tire. Not thrilled with the high price of the replacement tire, I bought a patch kit and fixed it myself; the tire has not leaked since. Not wanting to discount the business based on one unpleasant experience, I took my car back for an oil change because I had a coupon for a $19.95 oil change and tire rotation. I was told that my car required full synthetic oil and the coupon would reduce the price but it was still very high. I paid for the oil change but contacted a close friend who sells my make/model of car and was told that my car calls for synthetic blend which is much cheaper.

I had a very satisfactory experience at University Tire & Auto Center. I dropped by early one morning; they put on four new tires and did an oil change in 90 minutes, while I waited, with several customers ahead of me. The managers attitude was outstanding. I know service can ebb and flow with the day, time and circumstances at any auto shop. Ive been here twice and both times had excellent service.

Had my car in for an oil change, was told I needed rear brakes and quoted $500. Went elsewhere for the brake work and was told nothing was needed, brakes were in great shape. Very disappointed and wont be back. 7/15/21 update: went in again for an oil change and inspection as my trusted repair shop couldnt fit me in and as usual, these crooks failed my state inspection and gave me a repair estimate over $1700. I took it back to my favorite place and was told nothing was needed and it was inspected with no issues. These people are CROOKS!

Horrible, awful, shocking experience. I have never felt more dissatisfied or taken advantage of. My 20 year old son took his car (yes, an old clunker) for inspection. They told him $1600 of work to pass inspection and he said okay, do the work. 11 weeks later and hundreds of dollars in Uber rides to and from work, I asked my son “where is your car??!!” I got involved because he seemed to be getting nowhere. $1600 later they had fixed his breaks and a couple other little things, but they could still not pass it for inspection and said they had no idea how much more it would cost for it to be able to pass inspection. They did lower the bill to about $1050, but he paid over $400 for the sensors (that were still the reason they couldn’t pass it for inspection), break work, window, and windshield wipers. I took it to my mechanic whom I trust, and one week later and $850 we were good to go. I went with my son to take it back for the reinspection and felt I needed to let them know how dissatisfied I was with the whole experience. They were unwilling to take any responsibility and seemed to think the bill adjustment was more than generous. I left after telling them that they should be ashamed of taking advantage of a 20 year old polite kid and that in the future if they felt like a car was a lost cause they should have never done the work in the first place. Do not trust these people for inspection, oil change, new tires...it seems to me they are looking to charge as much as possible with no care for who they screw over in the process. I am not a car person (nor is my son), but I don’t think it’s unreasonable to think that you should be able to trust people who claim to be able to perform a service for you.

Wonderful service at the Forest Lakes University Tire repair shop. We worked with Wayne and Cody at the service center recently for a state inspection and they were able to complete the work in a timely manner. Very knowledgeable and professional, what a nice experience!

I had similar experience like last 2 reviewers. I went for my state inspection, they called me within 2 hrs that Ill need new rotors and pads for rear wheels and one new tire in front, quoted some $550 to fix it. I thought it was ridiculous and not convinced with their diagnosis because I had my car inspected for brakes at dealership just a month back. I took my car somewhere else, they said everything was fine and I got my inspection sticker. The mechanic there asked me where I took my car before them, I said University Tires and he just smiled and said not surprised.I am not going back to University Tire again, they just lost one regular customer.

Jesse is are mechanic at university tire are he is very skilled and we trust him completely with are fleet of vehicles. Todd handles everything else for us and he is excellent. I definitely recommend this company!

I would not trust them with my car. After failing me on state inspection for allegedly worn out breaks (3mm left), they replaced my break pads and rotors. They stamped an inspection sticker on my window once they were done. I checked the parking break immediately after leaving the parking lot and it wasnt working at all. I rescheduled to return on the following business day and left my car there. Meanwhile, I crawled under the car to see what theyve done with the breaks and saw that they had no idea what they were doing. They unbolted a bolt on the drive shaft, which had nothing to do with breaks, and rounded the caliper bolt. Im very weary of these incompetent people touching my breaks. I will have to double-check their work to ensure my car is safe - after them performing a safety inspection.

Most of our visits here have been exceptional. They always forget to reset the check engine light, but thats not really a big deal. The worst was when we had them conduct a state-mandated inspection. Our floodlights were cracked and they said wed have to wait if we wanted them replaced. So in order to pass inspection, they offered to remove them. They didnt tell us itd cost $200 to just take out some stupid lights.

I waited on the store for 3 hours to get 4 tires put on. There was no workers working the front desk; the phones rang and rang due to no service. When I went to check on the progress, my car was just sitting there no tires, and the employees were sitting in the back laughing and talking. ABSOLUTELY RIDICULOUS!! I would never recommend this place if you are in a time crunch.

I have used this shop for years with mostly good results, but as of today my car has been sitting there for three days without it even being looked at, and they dont even call with an update (I call them, get a promise it will be looked at next, then learn 12 hrs later that still, nothing has happened.) I am going to move it across the road to Airport Auto. It is almost not drivable, but this lack of service and communication is unacceptable.

Good service, seemingly high prices. CAUTION: If you have your tires replaced here, make sure they dont put a lock nut on them. They did on mine, without ever asking. Lo and behold a few months later, I find out I cant replace my own tire without taking it back to them (lock nuts require a specific kind of key to remove). They were closed, so I went to an autoparts store to buy a key. Of all the keys they sold, none fit the one this tire shop put on my car. So I had to take my car to another shop to have them removed forcefully. Then I had to buy my own lugnuts to replace them. This is a VERY shady practice -- it requires you to come back to them, no matter what, even to simply change a flat, or in my case, replace the brake pads.

Showed up first thing per their suggestion. Waited 2hrs for car inspection with no one ahead of me. Paid $55.00 to have light bulb replaced over license plate--$10 for bulb; $45 for labor (manager said it would require at least 1/2hr because inside liner would have to be removed. It did not take 30 minutes. Will NEVER return. Bought new tires elsewhere.

Told to come in at 0700 next day for vehicle inspection. After rearranging my schedule and showing up at 0700, the shop said they wouldn’t be able to help until later in the afternoon and I’d have to leave the vehicle with them.

Their work is fast and guaranteed for a year. Sometimes it costs more that youd like, but you know it was done right.

I hate giving negative reviews. The last two times Ive been there the service has been bad. Last year I was trying to get a tire repair and was running late for a meeting and theyre out there looking under the hood. No matter what you take it in for theyre trying to find extra things to charge you for. Today, after being told to bring it in for an inspection, they said they were too busy to do it. They wouldnt make an appointment on the phone and never said it was first come, first serve until I got there in 20 minutes. BTW, I went there for years, but will not again.
