I ordered “The World Classic Edition” map from the Map Shop and it is great!! Customer service was very communicative about the status of my order and it arrived quickly! The map arrived nicely packaged and protected to avoid shipping damage. I absolutely love the colors of the map. I ordered the paper version and then took it to Michael’s to get it custom framed. In hindsight, it may have been a bit cheaper to order the walnut frame through the map shop instead. But I love the thinner, streamlined bronze frame that I got from Michael’s. I’ve hung it in my office and can’t wait to see and explore every day! I’ve already discovered countries I had no idea existed! Thank you Map Shop!

I just bought this laminated map for our home. I bought it as a decorative an educational piece. The shipping was extremely quick. When it arrived we were all excited to spend time looking at all the detail on it. My kids and their friends have spent hours playing school and teaching each other about the countries on the map. It’s a beautiful map and I highly recommend this company. Thank you for excellent product and service.

I received a map for fathers day that I didnt think anyone would have. It was packaged great when I got it, and the map looks fantastic! I really like the foam board they put it on. Looking at their website they seem to have a huge selection of hard to find or different maps I have never seen. If you are looking for anything I would check here. What I really like is on all of their items you can buy anything from a paper map, to it fully being laminated or boarded and framed. When I had questions via email, they responded right away. We are already looking at some world maps to purchase as well.

Awesome!!! I ordered a raised relief map of Oregon, framed. They did a great job with the framing, they packed it for shipping very carefully, and my map is beautiful. 10/10 Will definitely use these guys again!

There aren’t many places like this with such a wide variety of maps especially in 2021. If you like geography, you should definitely come to this place and check it out. I like geography so I give it five stars.

Ordered a larger map that I had them laminate. Apparently they recently changed locations and the new location is not open for shopping so everything is done online. However, the website is not very consumer friendly, the images of the maps are low quality so you cannot zoom in and actually see the information on the map. The employees were very courteous and helpful through the process, I got what I ordered in a reasonable time frame, and the cost was competitive for the product, which is the reason for the four stars. When I went to pick up the map and asked when they would be open for customers, I was told they may only do online sales and not open for customer shopping. Very sad, the best part of map shopping is viewing the maps to decide which one will work for your need. If the web site is improved or the store is opened it will be 5 stars.

Exceptional customer service and very quick to produce custom charts. I ordered a NOAA laminated chart - and Andy was really helpful and was able to scale the map to my exact specifications (used for decoration and not navigation). GREAT experience, great time to produce, and a great price!

Do not choose the saver shipping - dont know why it is even offered as an option. I ordered on 4/1 and still have not received my order. Im expecting the map to be quality, but the fact that they even offer saver as a shipping option is insane - what kind of eccomerce platform offers an option that takes more than 12 business days to reach its customers

Although small, this businesss niche reaches a global scale, and it is consequently easy to get lost in thought while perusing their large selection of maps. The worldly nature of mankind always leaves them seeking material objects, so patrons could be seen wandering aimlessly despite the overabundance of cardinal direction. I even noted an unexplainable, gravitational force upon myself as I circled the store in the same fashion of the mythical, heliocentric model. I then left the business knowing exactly what direction I needed to travel for my destination...because of my vehicles GPS.

I ordered a map showing the Tectonic plates for a lesson in my classroom.The Map was ordered on September 12. On October 1, I emailed requesting a status. I was informed that the map I ordered had been out of stock and was on back order. On October 7 I was notified that the map had shipped. On October 26, I checked the tracking and found that it had been sent from Memphis TN, back to Greensboro NC. The response was prompt, but only commented that there were delays with USPS. By November 2, it still was not received, and I emailed to request the order be cancelled. I was informed to return the map in its original packaging. On December 3, it was returned. I have not received a refund for this purchase. I am very dissatisfied with this company, and would not order from them again.

When Covid 19 happened, I bought a map for my niece. She is sixteen and has six types of seizures, and had just been through surgery. Her voice is scratchy and sore all the time. She cant even get out to see her friends. The Map Shop got right on the order and sent it out. The USPS had lost my order. As I began to wonder what happened to the package since I live in Idaho and wasnt seeing my order move, I called and talked to Tony. Tony was super friendly and said it looks like your package is lost in the mail; Well send another one out! When I told him how grateful I was because it was for my niece he upgraded my order to priority shipping for free just to be certain I would get my order. My niece quickly received her map and the timing was perfect. The Map Shop payed for the USPS mistake. I called and asked the USPS Where was my package?. They told me we dont have the package they must not have sent it! Three days later I received a text from the USPS, Your package has arrived in Denver, and is on its way to be delivered. Thank you so very very much for being so awesome!! I cant wait to have the new shop open. I wish you will do well in the future and hope you have a chance to inspire many new generations.

After traveling to the old location (that still had the sign up) I found out they had moved. Went to the new location and there was a sign on the door “not open to public”. Called and was told I couldn’t come in, but could go on line and order. But then, I would have to drive back for curbside delivery! Heck I could buy on line from amazon with free delivery! I was trying to give a local business some business. As hard as retail is these days, don’t see why their making it difficult to shop with them. Especially when you can go anywhere in Charlotte with a mask on. Crazy!

Best place for NOAA/Nautical Charts and easily the greatest customer service experience; always helpful

I cannot say enough about The Map Shop. I have been searching for a map of Chicago with the neighborhood names overlaid on it and I had no luck finding what I was looking for. On a whim, I Googled cartographer and found The Map Shop. Thank goodness I did! What a cool company! I worked with Matt who created exactly what I was looking for. He worked with me via email to make sure that he was doing exactly what I wanted and getting exactly what I wanted on the map. He worked quickly and was so pleasant to work with that Im a little sad this experience with The Map Shop is over. Pricing is fair, at least it was for my project, and I have enjoyed the process. Matt listened to what I wanted and worked to create something that I never thought I would be able to find! Thank you so much!

Drove an hour and a half to get here was met with closed to the public on the door and called on the telephone number provided with a longitude and latitude and the person on the phone could only refer me to the USGS website for me to figure out the quadrant and then call them back. her suggestion was that I use my smartphone in their parking lot to determine which map sheet that I needed rather than her using the book that they have that has the map sheets in it to tell me which map sheet that I needed. For all of that trouble I will just order from the US geological survey because it seems that no one wants business anymore they just tell you refer to the website. Zero Stars... Former longtime customer. No longer. There are other avenues to get maps and I will use them from now on.

Great customer service! I placed an order for a chart online, which was delivered much quicker than I anticipated. Unfortunately, the chart had sustained some damage along the way. I contacted The Map Shop, and within 24 hours, Mariana had taken care of me with a replacement and absolutely no hassle. Thank you!

I’m really not happy with the amount of time it takes to process and ship the items. Even when paying much extra for two day shipping it has still taken over a week to process then ship. I ordered it as a birthday gift and will have to now give it to the recipient a week after their birthday. I would recommend ordering at least a month in advance or maybe even more, if you need it for a certain occasion. There were other places with similar items and less processing/shipping times, but I went with mapshop due to their range in sizes.

Some of their products are a bit pricy but for the most part totally worth it! Their selection of maps is tremendous, ranging from cities to US states, regions of the world and full on world maps, all in various forms and styles! They also have a great assortment of products like decor and books about geography too. I bought a European map that I had laminated and fitted onto a foam core at the map store and it turned out beautifully. A great map to use to track where I’ve been and pin places I’ve visited throughout the continent. A really cool store, and great service provided by the staff there!

What can I say about the Mapshops products and Ethan that would do it justice. I called 2 hours before needing a gift for a colleague. I didnt know what I wanted, but I know I wanted a historical hand drawn map. Ethan directed me to a few websites and gave me suggestions. Long story short, I got a perfect gift, within 2 hours of needing it, paid over email through secure pay pal, and had it picked up.End product way amazing.

This is a great local shop. My wife wanted a nice large world map for our living room. They helped me find what I was looking for without being pushy. A+ service. Plus there were a lot of other really interesting maps that are now on my wish list.

Tony and his team at The Map Shop delivered great customer service on my recent visit. I came in looking to combine a few different maps of Lake Norman into one that provided all the information I needed. They went right to work, put it all together -- and even added some extra details I mentioned would be nice but werent must haves. They went above and beyond my expectations to produce a great finished product!

So I needed a map that showed me the way to WALK ACROSS THE OCEAN. I was sure that they had the map that I needed here. I had high hopes walking through the front door that they would supply my needs. Unfortunately they were not able to help me out. No one ever told me that the Bearing Land Bridge had melted until I walked into this place. I really was bummed out. I even bought an expensive winter jacket to help me beat the cold. I was prepared to hunt woolly mammoths and saber tooth tigers as well, apparently these animals are all dead. I left this store and felt that my dreams were kind of shattered. Why hadnt anyone updated me on the fact that the Ice Age was over?

Had a purchase issue that I wasnt happy with. They fixed it fast. This is our third purchase from The Map Shop. I will continue to use them in the future.

I really enjoyed visiting the Map Shop. They have so many different types of maps for different uses. I purchased 3 differnet maps of Charlotte. The 1st map was a street map of greater Charlotte area, the 2nd map was of Charlotte sectioned by zip code and the 3rd map was Charlotte by its major streets. The have maps for every state in the country also. Everyone was really nice and knowledgeable about all of the maps. Great place to visit.

Their staff is amazing and everything is so well organized plus fun to look through. We got just the right laminated map for my Mom-in-love to get to know Charlotte. I will definitely be back again for a unique gift.

Beer maps, fried chicken maps, custom maps, globes, travel maps and books. If they dont have it there, they can get it for you. Super friendly staff. Their website is also great, but it is so much fun to go in and browse the shop.

They were very helpful in person and over the phone. I called & asked for a map seen online & they were helpful enough to look it up and find it. Theyve put it to the side as I asked for and on arrival the maps were there waiting for me. I had a few more choices on arrival which was very helpful to know that their were more than just one. I was also allowed to look at them before purchase which was a plus. The store is very nice with a lot of choices from hand maps to globes to books to even personal maps of your choice. I would definitely recommend this place for your future vacation, travels or just for your local maps.

Great store for unique gifts or creating custom maps. They have a nice section of National Park maps for backpacking. Cool framed prints of Charlotte maps, Stadiums and College Campuses. The staff was incredibly helpful. Really nice people.

What a fantastic store! I thought map stores would be out of date as we can Google so much. This place has everything! Were going to Germany and Austria this summer and wanted a map to help give us ideas and make a plan. It took 5 min, the guy who helped me was terrific. He knew everything. Great place 😃

As an old geography major, I have always loved maps. In todays Google Maps world it may seem that maps are old fashioned. However nothing helps orient oneself in space as a paper map. There is no better way to plan a trip or to find interesting routes. And this shop is amazing. If you are planning to tour Italy or New England or anywhere, you need to drop in to the Map Shop. If you dont have a map of Charlotte you need to go pick one out and study the city in which you live. And choose a travel book or two, or travel accessories while you are there. This shop is clearly an affair of the heart and it shows. Just drop in and enjoy the old school pleasure of exploring the world by studying maps.

This place is so cool! My friend and I were just visiting Charlotte from Orlando, and we had been looking for maps to put up in our house for a while now. Lo and behold: “The Map Shop!” The selection of maps is extensive, and the workers are very knowledgeable and helpful in finding what you need. Ordered online, showed stock available. Three days later get email stating my order snuck in before online stock was updated. Told items would be available in a week. I had to contact company to inquire after that week. Almost three weeks later finally received. I dont appreciate some e writing on my enclosed receipt prior to inventory. If you offer items online, the system utilized should automatically update so people know item on back order BEFORE paying & learning three days later.
