Kind of weird. Not one employee came up to greet us or ask if we needed help at all. Maybe it was a fluke, but just seems strange in these days when most places go way over the top with customer service and you cant get the employees to stay away from you. Not this place, they give you plenty of breathing room and let you figure it out on your own. Cool place though.
Took my classic guitar to get strings replaced. The tech that serviced my guitar was very friendly and helpful.Looked around while waiting. I experienced good customer service. Pleasant environment.
I LOVED IT WE HAD FUN DEMOING THE PIANOS AND MY FAVORITE PIANO WAS THE YAMAHA GROOVE CREATOR ONE. I DECIDED TO BUT THE PIANO SOME DAY SOON AND THE DRUMS IN THERE WERE EVEN LOWDER THAN I THOUGHT. THIS IS THE BEST MUSIC PLACE EVER.
Good folks. Not a novice but yet know what I dont know. That translates to asking alot of questions on my part. Build a relationship not just make transactions. This store will treat you well from my perspective if be honest and expect same in return. Aspiring bassist as a hobby for a wounded warrior.
You will find variety of instruments here. We went buy keyboard and found the one we wanted. Manager was generous to show a demo of the keyboard we wanted even though it was not on display, he opened a new box. Really nice staff.
Courtney the PM manager is the man! This dude worked 2 hours trying to fix an issue for me. Couldn’t come to the solution we wanted but got creative and gave an equally good one. I appreciate your time bro!!!
Wow! An fully stocked music store. How fun to walk around.
Not what it used to be. terrible variety in the selection for bass players
Love the store overall but it was in shambles when I went. Hard to get help, guitars not tuned and just boxes of strings laying out open on the floor.
First visit here. 3 different employees asked at different times if we needed help. We found everything we came for, plus more. Checkout was a tad slow.
My son has being tryimg to teach him self the piano, he played and the staff was friendly.
While away on duty in the Army I ordered an acoustic guitar for my Daughters Birthday over the phone from an absolute professional named Siani. He talked me through the various guitar options, pricing, and helped me pick the ideal Yamaha Guitar for her. The Customer Service he provided was outstanding! Thankyou!
The staff was extremely nice and helpful. We were able to walk in and find exactly what we wanted to get. They have very good prices and my daughters birthday was extra special with her new keyboard. I highly recommend this store. You wont be disappointed.
I love guitar center. I have purchased thousands in instruments and equipment over the years. But last night I had the first horrible experience in 20 years. I wanted to purchase an inexpensive speaker for my garage gym. It was on sale for $100. i brought the speaker to the audio sales desk. The nice young lady started ringing up the sale and asked me of i wanted the warrantees. I said no. Then another really tall guy started asking me why i didn’t want a warrantee and hard-selling me. He was condescending, rude, shaming and would not quit. He said he was doing what he was trained to do. I asked if he was going to stop pushing me and let me purchase the speaker. He wouldn’t stop so I walked out without the speaker. It was super stressful. As of now I am never going back to that store again. Good job in following your training Tall man. Bought my very first electric guitar. I was in and out. They made things super easy for me
Been shopping here almost 7+ years and the people have changed, but the service has remained the same: subpar. I just stood around for 30+ mins trying to buy cables and there werent enough people to help, so I walked out. (I cant count how many times this has happened throughout the years) This is by no means the employees fault, as the store is severely understaffed. You would think after almost a decade that they would switch it up, but its for this reason and lack of service that Sweetwater is my #1 choice.
I love that place..the staff there are incredible. Smart and talented..I cant say enough good things about them
I sure do love this store I read somewhere online they might be shutting some them down I sure hope they keep this one in North Charlotte Nc open
Great group of people.Extremely knowledgeable and so nice.We have purchased a guitar from them and taken lessons.
They should offer what the online store says they have in stock. Also, they should polish a guitar off after you buy it. To many people play them and there are a lot of germs, they should take more caution before sending you home with others germs. Service was awesome, found a really nice and unique bass
They just offered 100$ less than a pawn shop on a guitar i brought in to be checked out.
Very good place to try the electric drums, guitars I electric Bass guitar. Good attention. I just think you need to tidy up and clean, the carpet was somewhat dirty with small pieces of cardboard. I think they were taking inventory that day. but in general the store is very cool.
Good store, but not alot to select from
The staff at this guitar center is very friendly, i like it more than the one in Pineville where one employee was very rude to me. Great selection of guitars amps drums etc.. The service counter was helpful when i needed some work done on my guitar. Very professional, do reccomend.
Called to ask about a drum head in stock. The person of the phone was overly rude and boldly said, Listen man, you can hold for 15 minutes or call me back later. Ill not shop there!!!!! Timestamp 11:19am 9/25/21
Brought my sons fender electric guitar to get restrung...the tech then offered to look at the guitar to make sure everything else was good. He removed the piece where the amp cable plugs in and it ripped off the sodder point and broke...then he continued to tell us how it was already broken and if we wanted the $50 service he could fix it...then he told us the neck was too bent to restring and basically that the guitar was not worth fixing. Was super disappointed with the service after waiting in line for 30 minutes for him to finish with another customer, it was tough to see my sons face when we had to walk out with his now broken guitar. Would give 0 stars if i could.
State of the art equipment. I lost all my music studio gear and am interested in acquiring new gear but Im going through a major loss and am currently displaced and struggling. I really hope I can find a way to make music and continue making sure dreams come true.
Awesome place!! Very helpful!! Ashley was very very helpful and she is a fantastic instructor!!!
Loved that musicians offered assistance to my minor son & played a mini bass concert 💜
Great store & sales reps were nice.
Store is almost empty. But its understandable with the funglitus. Sales staff were great. Just couldnt buy the basics that I needed.
Terrible used selection, almost no bass guitars of any kind, be it new or used
Met Brian and 3 others wish I had there names great time... Nice guys will come back again.
Good place to get music equipment...
Very rude customer service. The one in Pineville is much better!
I found everything I needed. And was treated with respect
Enjoyed an amazing guitar lesson and they have a groovy selection of guitars!
Their stuff are always nice and helpful. Grate place to try and instrument before you buy it, so you can make sure its the right fit for you.
My boys enjoying going to try before they buy, staff is always pleasant and knowledgeable.
Great facility. They dont have a lot of material for woodwind instruments though.
Love this place. The most healthiest best pizza I have ever had, and I was born and raised in Brooklyn NY where a NY Slice reigns supreme in my opinion. I no longer eat meat(Pescatarian) so veggies play a big role in my eating habits. I was pleasantly surprised when Blaze has vegan cheese, and crust! I am in love.
They have some good deals and A decent range of guality products. I can usually find what i need when im there. Customer service is a bit of a challenge until you get their attention. When they do acknowledge you they are friendly and very helpful. Just dont expect anyone to run you down for assistance.
Was harrassed 2 times once near the keyboards and once on the way out about mask falling slightly below nose. These employees on a power trip .This was the first time in the store and definetly the last!..They obviously think customers need them!I spend my money when customers are appreciated not harrassed by their own policies which are not laws!!
All the guys guitar center siani Brian Nick theyre wonderful cheapest on prices on musical equipment.
Wide selection of guitars to choose from. Not only do they sell guitars, they also have Ukelele and other string instruments on the floor. Very clean and tidy. The manager is welcoming and will let you try out most instruments they have on hand. They also sell drum and drum accessories, as well as keyboard, audio and a plethora of other musically creative instruments.
Great store, pretty good staff, okay prices.
This review is for Brian and siani at JW Clay boulevard in my opinion these two gentlemen are a real asset to guitar center as Sean was carrying out some heavy control monitors I was playing a keyboard and he literally stopped and set the speakers down and just stood there very patiently and said do you have any questions about the keyboard most people would have just said okay lets get these speakers out thats what separates a great salesman and a great associate from the rest of the pack
Very nice and helpful customer service. Good selection of guitars in all price ranges.
Awesome place with a great staff!
I brought my old Fender Acoustic to Shawn, He kindly pronounced it dead. (It was an old entry level model with the bridge pulling up) Shawn helped me find a very nice new Yamaha, at a good price. I played many guitars at different price points, but went back to that Yamaha. I bought it and enjoy it very much. I highly recommend this store. The people there are very friendly and helpful, and they have a massive inventory.
I love going here it’s a really great place to kill time. However he line was really bad which I get as in my job experience I have caused long lines. However the “repair technician” Steven was very rude. The line was going no where so when I asked Steven if he could check me out since he was behind a cash register he rudely said. I’m a repair technician. It wasn’t what he said it was how he said it. He seemed very mad. Please teach this guy some customer service.
I went in to buy a microphone and headphones. I had some help from a rep in store, the product I wanted had the price tag turned around backwards, the rep in the store told me it was $49.00 dollars once he flipped the tag around. I also chose to buy headphones that were $50.00.The rep left the tag turned around as we walk to the register he scanned my microphone it rang up $99.00. The rep stated it’s now that price. I ask him how can you changed your pricing just like that, I asked for a manager. The manager was rude and tried to talk over me while I was trying to explain. The customer service manager was his title I knew then to turn around and leave.I’m writing this review to let everyone know they change their prices in front of you and then they expect you to buy from them. I will go somewhere else to spend my hard earned money especially during these times. I didn’t appreciate the excuse he gave and the Guitar Center not honoring the price on that was posted.I don’t care about your who, what, when and why I am your customer however, you must understand you are not the only place in Charlotte to buy products that you sell.I was excited about visiting your store from viewing the products on line. I took the time to come in. This store didn’t have what I wanted so I decided on something else ultimately walking out very disappointed.Don’t shop here they haven’t a clue on how to take care of their customers. I will never shop there again.——————————8/28Update...I received several emails and a message on Twitter from them letting me know how sorry they were. Guitar center stated they would have someone contact me from the #clt store right away.I am still waiting... 🤷♀️Update 12/22/2020I’m still waiting 🏄🏽♂️... No one reached out.
If I had the option to give 0 stars I would. My son and I went to purchase 4 guitars and a drum set for my musical family. We were eagerly ready to spend our money that is until we experience the lack of Customer service which was unsatisfactory. We were not greeted nor did anyone ask if we needed assistance. Instead we were ignored. The workers standing at the front entrance (older man and younger ) did not acknowledge us. No hello, how are you doing, can we help you? We went on to view the guitars, the older worker walked by and still did not offer assistance. We went to the drums and waited for assistance. No one came by. So after over 15 minutes we left. Will not be returning.
Nice stop on the way to takenmy buddy to the airport.
Service was bad. Did not give me a receipt??? Walked away to help someone else??
Had the worst customer experiences Ive had in a very very long time. I had to wait one hour to purchase a cable for a guitar. Its not what you think there were not a lot of people ahead of me maybe 4-6 people at best trying to buy things. The associates and management were just that incompetent. If the rest company is anything like this location I can understand why they had to file for bankruptcy. I will never be shopping here again.
I was testing a keyboard out and there were employees with latters getting in the way not very professional and just hammering down I understand they got to make everything look good but at least wait until the customer leaves .....I was gonna going to buy the yamaha montage but I would rather take my business to Sam Ash they already got things ready and without disturbances
Its bad when you have 3 employees standing around talking to each other, and none of them even acknowledge that Im standing there. No hello, or Ill be right with you.Just ignored.
Very nice place for musicians, but some sales people are stars before being discovered, egos may destroy up and coming musicians, everyone that comes in, is trying to learn to get better!
Mediocre, entry level selection and ambivalent staff.
Looked like the place was going out of business, one employee hollered at a customer I cant understand you! Not sure if it was because he was wearing a mask, or because he spoke with an accent. I guess this is why people buy online now.
Nice place. Staffs are very friendly. All musical instruments are available in good price. Also they have good collection of used items
Ive always had the worst experience at this store. Theyre always understaffed so it takes usually 30 mins to get help with something. Most of the staff are rude. Today one of them screamed at me. After today, i wont be going back to any guitar center.
The staff is knowledgeable and friendly. The guy at the pick up counter was super helpful and did really good at not getting annoyed with my millions of questions.
Call before you go there. Their website shows items in stock for the Charlotte store that are not in stock. The Charlotte location is going downhill, their in store inventory is terrible. Sticking with purchasing from Sweetwater.
Nice, but need to clean bathroom
Its a great place to get your guitar gear and to chill out while trying out different guitars. It also has a variety of instruments and recording studio equipment. Definitely recommend it.
Not good. Sales guy just wanted to talk and still got my order wrong. Have to make another trip to straighten it out.
Unhelpful staff and the acoustic room smelled pretty bad.
Almost always friendly and helpful staff. Easy purchases and returns. Only reason for not rating this location 5 stars is due to their limited used guitar section, which I know a lot of us go in a music store to browse specifically.
Went in for buying a keyboard and drums, helpful staff and clean store
The staff at GC are the cream of the crop. I love going there.
Always helpful
Helpful, fun and knowledgable staff.
Covid procedures actively in use which was great. The staff was very helpful. Gloves and sanitizer were provided for active demo. The only gripe I have were some of the displays werent active. Still best guitar center in the city to shop at if you want an educated buying experience
The customer service is terrible at the guitar center on jw clay in Charlotte NC especially in pro audio Ive been shopping at GUITAR CENTER FOR YEARS, 17 YEARS TO BE EXACT AND it feels like its only like 2 people in the store that truely want to help you. The manager of the store doesnt even try and help when its a problem he can fix. I literally watch 2 people who were getting ready to purchase some expensive items walk out because of his customer service i know everyone isnt perfect but the service i recieved was unexceptable. I hope corporate sees this comment and does a re haul on that guitar center.......
Great place! But, i wish it had more options. The Guitar Center in Brooklyn, or in Wayne NJ has much more options. Overall however, a good place
Needed some time on the strings for sure. Played a couple of Taylor acoustics.
I have loved Guitar Centers for years. Top notch employees and products. Now they even have great safety protocols like hand sanitizer and facemasks required.
Always Like visiting, pretty much have want I wont, and if not will try to get it 4 U,staff very Helpful😎
Store was nice. Everything was clean and staff was knowledgeable
Really good store to shop instruments.
Very helpful.
Covid has the place locked down as you would probably imagine. The lady who walked me through the store was quite nice. They need more left handed instruments! Went back about a week later and was told there was no bass guitar technitian. Say what?!
I bought a used nylon string online from Guitar Center at a different location. It turns out I received my instrument with tarnished and old strings that were unplayable. I brought the guitar to my local location in Charlotte. Dakota did not hesitate to alleviate the situation; he provided and restrung a new pair of nylon strings for me. On top of that we had a great conversation, customer service was satisfying on my end. Thanks
I came in last night to pick up a guitar that they put on hold for me they were very polite kind and we’re willing to hold a guitar for me even though I had a 2 Hour Drive. I arrived during a dispute where a customer was violent. The store manager and employees handled the customer responsibly and safely and I was given top service. Went in the next day to exchange for another instrument and they were kind and helpful. Highly recommend for a small guitar center.
Patient and helpful salesman. Tried several guitars and finally chose a Fender Stratocaster. Thanks for a wonderful buying experience.
Wow Ive been here twice with a guitar repair emergency and both times Savannah has come thru! Fixed an issue in 10 min today and the last time I wasnt ad much in a rush but she still made repair in a day! Savannah rocks!
Won’t go anywhere else.
Sales personnel are very interested in making sure you are getting your best deal available. Buying a quality instrument can be expensive, so having knowledgeable people to help is very reassuring. Thank you!
Inventory is out of stock, poor customer service.
Bad experience, went to purchase an amp, but ignored over other interest that were not profitable for their business. Couldnt get help to test amp, so helped myself, then was reprimanded. Other negative points. Left sore, went to pineville store. Now they knew how to treat a buying customer
