I love this store! They offer such a vast variety of seafood & produce along with spices you cant find anywhere else in CHARLOTTE! mostly new people working now and I havent got to know them but they are very neutral with customer service. The store and the restrooms are ALWAYS CLEANED AND SANITIZED! No matter what I purchase, I always check the restrooms for sanitation.

This grocery store has the best produce and a wide variety of fresh herbs peppers. I especially come for the dried Hibiscus I cant find anywhere else and Grace & Blue Mountain Curry powders. BEST grocer for a Cultural meal in comparison to a traditional grocery store. The in store restaurant is the best and reasonably priced.

I bought over $70 of crab legs from them that were bad .When I bought them they had a awful smell but was thinking maybe it was because the other seafood that was sitting out around them in the store. Once I got home I put them in the freezer and them took them out when I was ready to cook them which they still had an awful smell. Before returning them I called the store and received the approval from the manager. Once I tried to return them the manager tried to convince me that I had them for 48 hours. Which I went back and forth with him on that it was less than 24 hours for my purchase. Then after he was wrong with that he tried to make it as If it was my fault they were bad. After we went back and forth with that he tried to offer a credit,which I had to use right then. He was completely rude..I was done and just left. I will never go back to this store after being treated like this.

I bought six packages of frozen tortillas, after keeping them on the freezer for 14 days, when I go use the tortillas they were moldy, I took to Compare foods and they say they can not change it. I went there on the first time and couldn’t find my receipt with 8 days of buying it and no one informed me about the police of 7 days, I went back when I could because I don’t live around, had to drive more than 30 minutes back to hear they can not change the bad product they sold me. I’ve been buying those tortillas for more than one year and never had a problem, the first time I do I have no support. I’m really disappointed with the customer service

Produce are listed with great prices. Meats I dont shop here, items are overpriced. Overall nice market.

This is a pretty nice store. Its just like any of the other compare foods you can go to here in the city. This place doesnt seem to have all the food nationalities that the super g Mart on Independence boulevard has, however, it does mostly cater to Spanish cuisine and shopping so if youre looking for a place like that then this is the place for you. But I mean its always clean everyone that works there is nice. They have a jewelry store inside a place where you can wire money, and I think an insurance and travel agency as well.

One of these Compare stores has a junk jewelry store in the front. Do not buy any of it because they only give you a week to return it if it breaks. Mine broke & the bigger stone fell out in 10 days, since it was a gift I returned it to repair without a receipt and had to pay a small repair cost.I was not happy with the 2nd stone shown in photo because it was not as vibrant & asked for a equal value replacement within 5 days of repair and was told no. This was a gift from my nephew so I was not going to seem to him I was unhappy and now as you can see in the photo smaller stones have fallen out.As well as it was suggested since it was Mexican storefront that I was to accept how they do business. The girl behind the counter was rude I asked to speak to someone else and was not offered an option to do so.Teaching my nephew to buy things that at least can be returned like normal places of 30 days etc without letting him know why of course

Price of most basic food is up so that makes me not comfortable shopping anymore.

Kinda pricey. but really good Hispanic food.

I shop at this store because there is a large variety to serve the different ethnicities residing here. The other reason is for the delicious food served at Tonys Deli. The distinct combination of flavors in the food has made me a regular customer.

First time my wife and I been at this Compare Foods store, I hate to say but we went down looking for chitterlings, but we didnt find any so I ask one of the store members about it so he checked things out for me he even went to the back he informed me that they didnt have any so he got his manager who I found also friendly, respectful and very helpful, unfortunately he said that they was completely out, and I thanked him so we gave each other the fist bump. So the wife and I walked around the store because it was such a huge store bigger than any grocery store that I know of, but before leaving out we got a few items to take with us the checkout clerk greeted us with a warm welcome and friendly positive attitude. And we will be going back I want to thank the manager and his respectful and caring staff members.

Love this store for the vibrancy, music and variety of international foods. Great sweet breads and tres leches selection. The produce is pretty expensive for a local grocery store. We prefer Lidl for produce.

Beware of this store, my mom came in this store and bought some grocery and the girl check out made the mistake, my mom was buying only 1 condensed milk but she typed in 8 of them, we requested them to refund her money back, they made us waited over 30 minutes to do that. No apologies, no sorry, and didn’t give back to her the milk that she brought in to showed them. My mom doesn’t speak English, and that’s how they treated my mom, she is so upset because she has been shopped in this store over 13 years since she came to the US.

This is a great store, especially if you are looking for authentic international products. Lots of items you cant find at Food Lion, Harris Teeter, ect. Many of the sales floor employees only speak Spanish which does make it a bit more difficult to ask for help. Everyone always seems eager to help though, which overcomes my communication difficulties.

Went to this store yesterday to look for some frog legs. The glocery clerk I ask didnt know where they were at, but she had a pleasant attitude. She went to ask her manager, who was the meat department manager he had a nasty attitude. He told me they were in the freezer. I asked him where the freezer was at and he pointed in a rude way as I was supposed to already know. Then when he walked off the freezer he told me where it was at was empty, there was no food in there at all.

They have a lot of different things, but prices can be higher on certain items.

Its convenient to where I live but the prices are higher than other grocery stores. The positive is that you can buy a lot of hard to find items like certain spices, produce, etc that other stores dont sell

I went to go get some Oblea Mini Wafers and I saw that some wafers in the package were more colorful than others, and my friend and I bought two packs & my friend opened her pack and she noticed that there were little bugs crawling in the package. So my friend & I went back to get different pack and a bunch of the packs had little bugs and some wafers were eaten because of them. We showed a video & pictures to the manager but all he said was “Okay i’ll go check them out in the back later.”

So clean so so clean! I love how everything is so organized and clean.

For some reason they over charge on just about everything.

Quality grocery store for certain items, specifically Hispanic food. They have great sales and good prices on most things. Everyone that works there seems nice too.

I just walked out of this location less than one minute ago. The food is very overpriced! Much higher than usual for avocados, frozen foods, and fresh goat. Everything mentioned is about $2 more.The staff LOVE to shout hola to spanish speaking people but ignore, but surveillance with crossed arms, the darker brown people. We all come from the same indigenous group but a lot of spanish speakers still hide their African looking family members in the bqck of the closet.Ill check out the compare on freedom drive from now on since they are independently owned. Its twice the drive but being treated with respect is worth it.

I need to learn Spanish - couldnt get my question answered without the help of Google, but I love shopping here for items I cant normally find in my regular grocery store. Produce is much cheaper tho I will say, you need to be very selective when buying because its not always super fresh.

I simply love Compare Foods, I love the variety of foods they sell! Fresh jack fruit, tamarind, turmeric, peppers, a variety of fruits and vegetables. Fresh butcher specials, meats, fresh fish, as well as packaged fresh meats. Mexican, American, Chinese, Jamaican, South American, etc! 😁

Cashiers are always taking to each other not concentrating on what they are doing and they are rude as they can be. Not a pleasant place to go buy when you know they are gonna give you attitude. Milk always expired before the do date. Check your milk most of the time is expired or about to expire.

Most of the time the fruits and vegetables are rotten. I bought tortillas, upon opening- they were spoiled with mold all over. Everything looks fresh but after 4 days you see the same fruits and veggies full of little flying bugs and the stuff all the way that the bottom with mold. Its gross. I dont recommend their meat it is old. Their seafood looks ok but nothing special. Very over priced. Walmart neighborhood market is way cheaper and better quality. If youre going to over pay just do it at Harris teeter but not this dirty place.

Great prices on meat bundles, great oxtail prices and great seafood

My husband purchased on Tuesday 3/17/2020 at the Milton Road a bag of rice that normally cost $8.99, the price increased to $12.99 and a bag of lentils that normally cost $1.29, the priced increased to $3.99. My husband also witnessed so many price increase that was not the norm. Shame on you Compare Foods for increasing your prices. You do know that price gouging is illegal in NC. Unbelievable, in a time if national crisis, we should be coming together as a community not trying to take advantage of the situation.
