I ordered Almond Joy flavored ice cream and thats exactly what I got. I cannot comprehend how much this tastes exactly like an almond joy. Its insane. Plus, my Boston Creme Cupcake was delicious. Creme and icing just like the donut (I know it is originally a pie but Ive ever had it). Also, my roommates cookie was bomb. She doesnt know I took a bite but it was too good looking not to have a taste. It was 100% worth the price.

This place is fantastic—super cute shop and the sweet treats are to die for. I had the holy cannoli cupcake and a small scoop of strawberry ice cream. Service was great as well.

As someone who cannot have diary, the vegan cupcakes are moist and delicious! Ian from this Smallcakes location also seems to be a very kind and generous man! I will definitely be returning for more treats soon!

It was everything!!! I love the different selections. My son had a push pop and a cake pop. My daughter had chocolate chip cookies and a small black and white ice cream cup. I had the infamous Smash cup with vanilla bean ice cream and a birthday cake cupcake!!! It gave what it was supposed to have gave!!

Waiting for 20 minutes just to be Greeted by someone with a terrible attitude. Ended up not getting anything. Definitely will continue going to Nothing Bundt Cakes

Exceptional cupcakes! Beautiful to look at and delicious to taste. Customer service is superb. I had a unique circumstance. I was hosting a virtual baby shower for my son and his wife. He lives in Charlotte and I live in Pennsylvania! As the hostess, I’m responsible for refreshments. How do I pull that off? I searched for a nearby bakery and found Smallcakes...what luck! The staff was cordial, the owner was remarkable. She offered guidance as asked and was very patient with my ordering. My son is dairy intolerant and she was able to accommodate that. She produced a special order of Vegan cupcakes. The selection of flavors, even the Vegan ones, was mind boggling. She even handled the means to get the order to his house nearby...she delivered them for me! A true test of outstanding customer service. At the start of the shower, they showed up at his house with their surprise refreshments. They were blown away by the array. They showed me the beautiful ( and tasteful in all ways!) presentation. They were decorated beautifully. So, if you’re looking for that special dessert treatment with exceptional service, this is the place to go. Thank you to all the staff, especially their sweet and helpful owner.

Great cupcakes! The Steele Creek area doesn’t really have a dedicated cupcake, ice cream place like this and it’s perfect. The store is very clean, bright colors bring a nice feel inside. They have so many options to choose from. I choose a 4 pack and got the lemon drop (two), cookies and cream and wedding cake. Next time I want to try the ice cream definitely. Good customer service and dessert! Overall, my wife and I were very impressed.

Ok, Ok,OK!!!!,,,,,,I give in totally! Today is my sisters birthday and we had a virtual celebration. I ordered a four pack from Smallcakes!! OMG!! I couldnt have been more satisfied! I ordered the birthday cupcake, the chocoholic, the chocolate, and the lemon. Of course tonight I started with the birthday cake cupcake. I cant even tell you how moist, rich and decadent it was. For the store to be called Smallcakes, there is nothing small about their cupcakes! Big flavor, Big cupcake, Big tastebud happiness!! It took me the whole virtual celebration to eat the whole thing!! Dont try to pick it up, get a glass of wine and a teaspoon and savor each delicious bite! I had mine with Chardonnay, I would highly recommend that choice, it matched perfectly with the richness and the sweetness of the cake, the frosting, the sprinkles......enough!! No, I can;t say enough, but I will say this- if you pass up the opportunity to try one of their cupcakes just ONCE in your life...... you havent lived! Cant wait to delve into the others. If I find anything to update this review I will, but as it stands now....I am looking forward to my coffee in the morning!!  Think Ill try the chocoholic next!!

We dont get many cool places in Steele Creek, so this is a very welcome addition to the neighborhood.My husband went a picked us up some cupcakes to go. He called to tell me what flavors they had and I was disappointed because there were only three non-chocolate flavors and two of them were basically vanilla.My husband asked if they could do any special orders and they did! They made me their caramel with pretzels on a vanilla cupcake instead of a chocolate cupcake. I also got a lemon drop cupcake. My husband and a friend got the millionaire pie and caramel with pretzels (on a chocolate cupcake).We all loved them. The cake was moist and flavorful. The icing was delicious. My favorite was the caramel one but both were great.My husband said they were super friendly in the store. They also have some free samples of their special cupcake for the week.They also have ice cream and come cool creations like a cupcake smash (ice cream between to halves of a cupcake) and cupcake milkshakes. I cant wait to go back and try those.This may just be my favorite cupcake place. Definitely worth checking out!

Although the cupcakes are great, it would be nice if they didnt close 3 hours early today 5.15.21. I came 23 minutes to be disappointed! As I write this review at least 10 maybe more different customers tuned around because of the closing!I remember now why I rarely support small businesses, they can close at will and leisure with no remorse or empathy!

Before driving to this location, check online to see if they are actually open. The wedding 🎂 and 🍓 cupcakes are very good. Those are my favorites. Staff is always nice and they have majority of the flavors offered on hand.

The cupcakes are delicious but Ayana should not be running that store at all!!! She does not deserve the business and definitely needs some training on how to work in a restaurant. 5+1=6 I hope she sees this review too. AWFUL AWFUL AWFUL EXPERIENCE. I ordered online they didn’t have one of my cupcakes she said she called I said I was sorry I didn’t get a call. Then proceeded to tell me I ordered seven cupcakes when I looked at the receipt there was five cupcakes and one extra adding up to six total cupcakes. She argued with me about the amount of cupcakes I ordered.

Smallcakes is a hidden gem in Charlotte. I happened upon this cupcakery while in the area. I ordered a Biscott Cookie Butter small cake smash. It was a cupcake split in half, the bottom layer goes into the bottom of a cup and then any flavor ice cream you like goes in next (I had wedding cake, delicious!) and then the top of the cupcake finishes it. This place does not disappoint. I can’t begin to describe the smell you encounter when you walk through the door, it is what a real bakery should smell like!

First time trying but definitely won’t be the last time. Service was great and the cupcakes were amazing. The cupcakes were moist with just the right amount of icing. I got one of their cupcake specials which I believe was the Guinness beer flavor that day and the red velvet flavor. Definitely recommend!

I love this location. Always clean and workers are always super nice. Food items are very good but I was a bit disappointed tonight. I was under the impression that this location closed at 8pm. I rushed to get there before 8pm. I got there at 7:45pm and they were already closed.

This place is pretty amazing. I went there knowing they were good, but they somehow exceeded my expectations.I wanted a cupcake so my wife said we should check them out. As soon as we walked in, the staff greeted us right away. I felt welcomed, like I just walked into my best friends house. The guy there recommended that I take the ice cream tour. I wasn’t there for ice cream, so I thought. I tried almost all of their homemade flavors. Other than the flavors I normally don’t like, everything was awesome.After that, I told him I wanted some ice cream and a cupcake, so he suggested that I have a smash. Which is a cupcake split in half and 2 scoops of ice cream in between.I went with the chocolate cream cupcake with blue Munster cookie and birthday cake for my 2 ice cream choices. Holy moly, I wasn’t ready. This is for sure something you need to split with someone as it was a little too much for me. Other than that, it was amazing. The ice cream and the cupcake were equally delicious. The cupcake was very moist and kind of reminded me of a hostess cake (which I love). The ice cream you could tell was homemade and is probably some of the best I’ve had.I highly recommend this place and I can’t wait to try out more cupcake flavors.

The first person who greeted us was eeh...but the second lady came out and helped us with samples, and sold us on their ice cream. we had some really great ice cream. Smooth, creamy and delicious!!! Chocolate chip cookie dough is my favorite ice cream and this was superb!! Thank you!

A friend let my dog try the tiny carrot cupcake for dogs from Smallcakes. I was so excited that it didnt upset her tummy at all! I went to get some more for her upcoming gotcha day! To make it even better, the shop is adorable, clean, practicing social distance and the baker/owner was a super nice guy that seems to genuinely care about the ingredients and if it would upset any dog tummys. It was $5 for the pack of 4 cupcakes, which is a great price knowing its safe for my girl to enjoy on her day! Thanks Smallcakes! I will tell all my dog-friends this is the place to go and I will be back!

I am sorry, but very disappointed. The cupcake tasted like it was missing something and buttercream was stiff and tasteless. Maybe I should have gotten icecream instead.

I ordered a brookie and the price was labelled as $5. The register rang it as $6. I asked the sales girl to change it to the price advertised in the window. She said there was nothing she could do. I asked her fix it manually but she refused. Poor customer service.

Sooo this my first time trying small cakes... I was having a bag quarantine day😞 Isolation was getting to me buuuuut I ordered assorted cup cakes and chocolate chip cookies...it has been powering me through my week! Delicious, moist, perfectly sweet (i never had a sweet tooth) but 100% it’s great! Don’t worry I invested in a treadmill before the quarantine 😝 Thanks!

Smallcakes Steele Creek is the best cupcake store in Charlotte! They have amazing taste and the cupcakes are always delicious. The staff has been helpful and a pleasure to deal with. I am serious when I say I have not tasted a better cupcake in Charlotte. The selection blows other cupcake stores away. Give them a try and you will drive by other cupcake stores to get to this one. Smallcakes is awesome!

Our weekly visits here never disappoint. I recently got the banana pudding ice cream and it was delicious. Our usual choices are: birthday cake cupcake, red velvet cupcake, carrot cake cupcake, cookies and cream cupcake. Our dog is absolutely obsessed with their pup cakes, which are the cutest little mini cupcakes with mini bones on them! They were out of them when we went and they kindly made a fresh batch for him which was greatly appreciated. Love this place!

Cupcakes are always good and consistent!!! Everyone is always nice and friendly. I’m no longer working nearby so it’s hard to get there as much as I would like. I wish this was on the Matthews side of town bc now it’s a 30 minute drive. It’s worth it though!!!

My friend and I was strolling down Central avenue today and saw this cupcake food truck and thought we should try it! We met the Owner and Chef who had so much personality, we had to try it! We ate the banana pudding ice cream, freakin‘ “DELICIOUS” ! Next, we had to try the cupcakes. When I got home, I dived my spoon into the Holy Cannoli, Birthday Cake ANNNDD Wedding Cake! I was disappointed because before I came I called and asked specifically if they had a dessert that was Gluten free, Vegan, and corn free. I spoke to a lady who seemed very young. She assured me several times the items I ordered would fit my food allergy criteria. Unfortunately when I drove over to pick the cupcakes up someone else kindly doubled checked after I asked again just to be sure. She came back and said that the cakes did have corn starch in the icing. Food allergies are serious and all employees should be trained to understand that if a customer has stated something regarding this it should be taken seriously.

Sugar, sugar, sugar. The cupcakes tasted like I was eating spoonful of sugar. I brought a dozen cupcakes, each different from the other with maybe 2 that were the same. They all pretty much tasted the same; like sugar.Not worth it. Hate to say it like that, but it wasnt. My wife and I felt like we wasted our money. Couldnt even finish one whole cupcake.On the positive side, the employees were extremely friendly and the store was nice and clean.

Cupcakes are fantastic. My dogs, kids and husband all agree. They are beautifully made with a lot of attention to detail. I bought here for a birthday and the recipient was more than pleased.

Been here 2 times. Cupcakes and ice cream are great. Customer service is just ok. We got a couple samples of ice cream and the girl acted like we were bothering her. Both times was similar experience, but would still return.

I discovered this place passing by a small advertisement for it. I am pretty picky about cupcakes and I was not disappointed. First off, the place was very clean and modern. I loved their artwork of their own cupcakes and even a cupcake wall art in the restroom. I loved the look of the place. Now of course you don’t go to a cupcake place for the decor right? I had the last cannoli cupcake and my daughter has the orange creamsicle. The cupcake was moist, not overly sweet and the right amount of icing. My daughter was in love with her cupcake and said she could have just eaten the cake part by itself. There was also different ice cream options that looked scrumptious and will have to try some another time. I am glad that there is actually a decent cupcake place close by and we will be returning.

I ordered hot fudge sundae flavor which was excellent. The service was very friendly. My only complaint would be they had nothing with coconut and they were kinda pricey.
