I so wanted to love this place. I went in today and customer service was not good. Whatever, I can overlook some things. Were still in a pandemic and people are drained. Got home and tasted the cake slices. Very underwhelming. I am almost positive that box cake mix is used. The flavor is bland and the texture does not taste like a homemade cake. The cake had a very artificial taste. No richness or decadence to it. It looked appetizing, but thats about it. Im not here to bash this business. I just want to let you know if youre thinking about spending your money on the cake, its not worth it.

The cakes were amazing. We ordered the cookies and cream cake for our sons one year birthday party, and the owner was accommodating with our request. The customer service while trying to get pricing and pick up the cake could have been nicer - I felt like I had to drag information out of them at times - but all in all, this was a great place to get our cake. Wed come back for sure!

First time trying this spot and We will definitely be back. I had the plain vanilla cupcake and it was amazingly delicious, my son had a few macaroons And he absolutely loved them!If ya have a sweet tooth like myself this is definitely a place to try!

I dont have a lot of experience here. Only went once. Ordered a German chocolate cake. It was decent but I felt the taste did not warrant the price. Also it was a particularly long time to get served. The guy was in the back for a while. Came out with the cake on a plate without a mask on and asked if this was the cake. Then he took it back in and came out with the cake properly boxed.

I ordered my sisters birthday cake from here and it was absolutely amazing! I asked if they did the edible printing because I wanted photos of her on the cake and they turned out beautiful! I had to wait longer than I expected for the cake to be finished but overall I was completely wowed by the cake when she came out the door. And my sister cried when we surprised her with it so it definitely was a hit! It tasted GREAT and was so moist and delicious!

I love BW Sweets. I visited Super Bowl Sunday to pick up a few items for the game. They were out of a lot of things, but that was to be expected at the time I went. I ended up getting the Banana Pudding Cake, Lemon Pound Cake, Pineapple Coconut Cake, and Peach Cobbler. The Pineapple Coconut and Lemon Pound Cakes got rave reviews. They were moist and delicious. The cobbler was undercooked. The crust was not crispy or flaky. It did have a great flavor and plenty of peaches. It was gummy. We haven’t eaten the banana Pudding Cake yet so no comment on that. I still love BW Sweets and suggest you check out this local gem.

Hi I would like to share that their desserts, pastries, ice cream, and everything else they serve is wonderful the only reason I am giving it a four-star is because when I came the first time I ordered a peach cobbler, and they left it out of my order we are from out of town and so we came back to the bakery and they replace my peach cobbler but when I got the peach cobbler I was supposed to get it has a P on the top of the container but when I open it up it was apple cobbler instead. But I would like to also add that there cinnamon rolls are the best, Cinnabon has nothing on there Cinnabons! These Cinnabons are top-notch oh, when I went back the second time I just bought a whole tray to take back home.😊😋💯We would have went back it was too much of an inconvenience being that we are 3 hours away...***UPDATE***Just spoke with management and they did make the issue right so I will be changing my 4 stars to 5!

Each time I’m in the Charlotte area I get candy apples from the bakery. Today I ordered 2 and had them delivered by Grubhub. They were a complete mess. The candy is beyond sour and very burnt to the point that it tastes rancid. I am extremely disappointed and will not be returning there my next trip to Charlotte

Typically, I rarely have a problem with this establishment and I enjoy their sweets, however today, Saturday July 31, 2021, unfortunately, it was very different. While completing my purchase one of your employees began to use extremely vulgar language and was NOT quiet!!! I looked at the representative who was assisting me and it APPEARED that he also heard the remarks. Mind you, he and I were positioned closer to the TV and we could definitely hear what was being said on the opposite side of us. With customers in your establishment, you would think “Mr. Potty Mouth” would pipe down. Not at all, as a matter of fact, he not only continued, but the vulgarity INCREASED!!! The ONLY reason I did not discontinue my transaction was due to the young man’s, who was assisting me, level of professionalism. Situations like this will definitely make me reconsider where I decide to shop. Poor customer service tends to be bad for business, regardless how good your product may be. My .02…

BW Sweets is delicious! We love going there! They have cake by the slice, so for birthdays and celebrations everyone can have their favorite flavor. My favorite is the coconut cake! It is so good! Their cheesecake is also amazing! We love the Reeses peanut butter cheesecake. This place is a must try!

I love their cakes. I was one of their first few customers. Their shop was definitely slept on at first by many.I recently placed an order for a cake. I paid the invoice & I didnt receive a confirmation email so I requested them to resend it.They resent the email and it said I had 24 hours to pay. Which means my payment didnt go through.I made sure the link worked and I waited until I got off of work 2 hours later to pay ..When I got off of work it said they cancelled it. Thats unprofessional and unacceptable. Their response was due to being booked . They shouldve expressed that initially .

As a small business, they seem to do almost everything right. Selection and variety of goods is very good. Pricing is great. Has everything for success, except customer service. There was no greeting upon walking in, no friendly banter or willingness to answer any questions. And please dont have any arguments/disagreements in front of customers. And please show gratitude for coming in and buying. This isnt meant to be a mean post, but friendly feedback to help. Was recommenced to try and I did. Just to clear some fact. I never demanded a two tier custom cake for Saturday morning, I enquired about the same that can be made by Saturday evening. And you never simply told me that you guys cant do it, you didnt reply to my email until i called twice to your store and your email was rude.And i am not the only one who had a bad customer service experience.The surprisingly thing is that even the owner/manager was rude with me.I dont like writing negative comments but this guy was getting personal with me for no reason so I have to share my experience with all of you. Just read the email I received from the them, it was unnecessary to be rude with the customer. They need to learn manners before learning how to do a businessPlease go somewhere and save your selfI dont know whats the problem with this guy. We ordered a two tiered specialty cake and cupcakes for a 50th birthday celebration. I can say from the ordering process, to the ease of payment and the most important aspect the PERFECT cake which matched ALL our expectations and the taste was phenomenal. So Phillip at the south location was SO kind. He gave me exceptional customer service, and he is the reason this gets 2 of the stars! 1 of the stars goes to the awesome cakes. They really do taste good.However the customer service at the main location was awful. A women walked in before me, several minutes later then me, then a man, and the guy had to literally scream to get someone out there to help us. They were all hiding in the back.Then the girl ask me what I want, as I’m asking about a cake she disregards me to speak with the guy ( who she already helped), then tells me they are working on said cake. I had to ask her like 6 different times rather it would be tonight or tomorrow - because she was to busy not listening to me after asking me a question. She says tomorrow.I leave - call the online number ask about THE SOUTH LOCATION - I’m told said cake will be ready in 15 minutes. So I pick up some seafood near location 1 - drive 20 minutes to the other location ( 30 minutes out of the hotel in staying at/so now I have cold seafood for dinner also (( which I was okay with FOR THE CAKE)) for me to get there and well- the cake is only sold at the other location, and the person I had talked to was this same girl.AS I said - Phillip was awesome and really Nice and kind and really took care of me while I was very obviously upset, but skip the other location.

Great first experience!! Order two cinnamon buns because I was unsure of how big they were and wow they were huge!! It took 3 days to eat it!! Amazing choice and they were so well made. Not your traditional looking kind but the flavor was definitely there and it was warm and fresh!

Honestly they have pastries that are pretty good, a bit on the high end side but worth it. As I make my journey tasting pastry and food joints around Charlotte; this is probably one of the worst customer service experiences ever. The two young men weren’t friendly at all, for them to want to enforce their face mask rule, their own employees don’t even properly wear mask on as they handle food.Overall a 3 out 5, the three stars because the cheesecakes were great but probably wouldn’t return or recommend because they just aren’t welcoming at all.

Don’t waste your time!! The customer service and quality is terrible! I went in for a consultation and they said they could do the cake design I showed them. I went back to place the order and there were two employees sitting down laughing and joking while the one other employee helped the 5 other customers in the store. Once they finished eating and joking around one of the two decided to jump in and help. I again showed my design to them and they assured me this was something they could do. They were going to charge me 200$ and I was already told this was a little overpriced, but I wanted to support a local black owned business. I go back to pick up the cake the girl showed it to me but acted like she didn’t want to turn it around. At first glance the cake wasn’t all the way right... then she turns it and there a giant seam in the fondant to the point where the cake was visible. then it wasn’t wasn’t smoothed out in any way. They had to go back and work on the cake more only to present a sub par version of the cake I showed them. They were nice enough to not charge me the full price of the cake. So I paid 100$ for this cake.. meanwhile I could’ve just gone to Publix if I was looking for a cheap cake! The cake actually did taste good, it just looked awful. Lesson learned, I don’t recommend this business the customer service is terrible and as they told me “we don’t replicate cakes”

Unfortunately am not able to speak to the quality of the baked goods themselves, but I am quite disappointed in the customer service I received over the phone. I called today (Friday morning) about ordering a party tray for a birthday this upcoming Sunday. I was informed that they will not be able to create a party tray by Sunday, which was no big deal. That being said, I began to inquire about ordering from the items they had readily available in the bakery instead of the custom party tray and I was hung up on in the middle of my question. No goodbye. No call back to say it was a mistake. Absolutely nothing. The woman on the phone just told me they couldn’t do the party tray and hung up. Terrible customer service, which is so disappointing because I genuinely was excited to try out this bakery.

Proprietor - your reply is unfortunately not shocking based on several of your other replies when you do not receive a 4 or 5 rating. Instead of acknowledging the issue & working to change you want us to applaud you for staying open & deal with subpar customer service. Covid tested many small businesses and affected millions of people. To then use Walmart as a litmus test for your establishments’ customer service is laughable.While in the store I told one of your employees that I would like to speak with you. She advised that she was on the phone & when you came out you made no attempt to hold a conversation. The fact that she failed to pass along a message and/or you failed to initiate meaningful dialogue in store it’s not my fault. As a business owner being humble is just as important as product and you have a failed in your reply. May the Lord bless you and guide you to walk on a better path. No reply needed as I’m sure it’ll be just as meaningless as your earlier one.

Best bakery in town! They are always adding new treats to the menu!

I went to the bakery on Saturday, April 3. I ordered a slice of yellow cake with chocolate frosting. I took a bite & found that the top layer had the parchment paper under the frosting because I ate some of the parchment paper. My husband took the cake back. He spoke with someone, they apologized, & replaced the cake. I began eating the new slice to find another piece of parchment paper under the frosting of the top layer. It seems as though the second slice was cut from the same cake & the cake decorator did not remove the parchment paper after baking the cake. I will not return to this bakery or recommend this bakery to anyone. Anyone who visit this bakery, please inspect your cake slice so that you wont be like me and eat some parchment paper.

Today I stopped by to pick up a cake ordered for my sisters Birthday.... I was not satisfied with the icing of the cake there were several areas that were iced but the cake remained exposed. I requested the icing be fixed and I was told by Michael White (manger / owners son) --- Nothing could be done and the end product was representative of the quality of the company. That perplexed me because this was not my first purchase so my expectations of quality were higher than what was received. Michael then proceeded to ask my name again to finally look me up in the system to read out loud my order history --- I am not sure what the purpose of this action was other to corroborate my assertion for himself and everyone else in the store. The cakes taste good but at the end of the day the simple decorative condition of an almost $50 cake is just as important as the taste and it did not align. Needless to say I was not satisfied and there was no option to fix the issue in time for need/use of the cake. I believe the quality assurance process could be improved to ensure that icing covers an entire cake and no portions of the cake remain exposed as well as the total customer service experience could have been handled a lot better (From the greeting of customers, confirming orders, to retrieving items, to confirming customers acceptance of products received).

BW sweets not only was able to fulfill my special order but had it completed well before the agreed time. The staff was super nice and the owner Frankie White even added his personal touch at completion. My guest were all asking where the sweet treats came from and of course I let them know. Wow, the number of choices was outstanding!I left with a slice each of Coconut, Carrot, and Key Lime cakes and one each of the three Cinnamon Rolls that were available, plus 2 Chocolate Super Chunk Cookies.Everything tasted great! Super fan of the Cinnamon Caramel Roll and the Key Lime cake.

BW Sweets created the best tasting wedding cake that looked exactly like what I envisioned. I was impressed the day we did the tasting but to have all my guests compliment the cake as well made the experience with BW that much better! Not only did they do my cake but they made custom short bread cookies that were individually wrapped for the welcome bags we gave to our guests. Overall, the cake was delicious and a VERY reasonable price point. I recommend this bakery for any sweet needs you have for an event.

This is my go to place for candy apples and cakes. They’re literally make the best candy apples and i’ve been supporting them for a long time but I don’t know if I will any longer. Yesterday i got a few candy apples there and when i tried it, it was bitter and i just ignored it since I thought the sugar was just burnt or caramelized too much, but I gave one to my friend who is pregnant and she too had the same symptoms as me and we both threw up and had the same gastrointestinal issues. I truly hope it wasn’t from the candy apples I got here but that was the only thing we ate in common. Didn’t want to write such a review but I hope people don’t do what I did and ignore the signs. If it don’t taste right just toss it out!

I had the cinnamon roll cheesecake/ cake. It was too good! Prices are a little high but it’s worth the money for the taste and quality and to support a black business owner! Definitely recommend

Everything I have had here has been good so far. I saw their advertisement on Instagram about their cinnamon bun cake and red velvet cinnamon roll. I wanted to try both. The cinnamon cake was awesome. But the red velvet cinnamon roll was hard as a brick. I was very disappointed. This was the 1st time I bought something from there and it was not good.

Now Im a sweet junkie and I can say the apple cobbler was on Point! The strawberry cheesecake was good but typical. The key lime cheesecake was a little sweet for me. I like a little more citrus instead but it was good. I can say their worth the stop.👍

The locals like this place and when im out of town, I try to eat what they like. I had the Key Lime pie, Turtle Cheesecake, and my boy had a Strawberry Cheese Cake, almost $20, did not have that WOW factor to me and he said his was OK. The crust did not seem done to me, it wasnt gram cracker, it was real pie shell. I think Edwards frozen Key Lime pie is better, just my opinion, you be the judge . 3126 Milton Rd, Charlotte, NC 28215, we drove all the way from the Panthers stadium.

Ive had an opportunity to try out this bakery twice and they have consistently been delicious both times. Ive tried the key lime cake slice, red velvet cake slice, the strawberry slice and the strawberry crunch cake slices. All have been very good. Cake is moist and flavorful. The staff has been pleasant on both visits. Im happy to support a business that has both tasty treats and nice staff.

Found this place looking for a nearby bakery to satisfy my sweet tooth. The glass was filled with all kinds of cakes, pies, cookies, etc. and somehow I managed to only walk out with 2 desserts (strawberry crunch cheesecake and marble pound cake). And OMG they were delicious!! The cakes were moist and very flavorful. I will def be back next time Im in the area and craving something sweet!

Me and my wife drove by BW Sweets Bakery today and decided to give them a try. After reading a few reviews and looking at the website for a few minutes we decided to go in and grab a couple desserts. Since this was our first time we did take a little bit longer ordering. While placing our order the employee wasnt friendly. She may have been tired or had a rough day. Which is a shame because my wife said that the cheesecake she ordered was the best she has ever had! Unfortunately things like this doesnt make us want to return.

I got a carrot cake and vanilla/chocolate/red velvet cupcakes. The whole family was thoroughly impressed with all of it. The carrot cake was moist and pretty good carrot flavor; the icing was not overly sweet and had a good cream cheese flavor; and each of the cupcakes were moist and had very good flavor. My dad also got some fudge. Its was extremely smooth and rich - some of the best Ive ever had. And all at a reasonable price.The only reasons I give 4 stars is I seldom give 5 (very high bar) and the staff was not the most friendly. Still, very positive experience.

Yesterday was my first visit I can say it will not be my last. The customer service from the time I enter amazed me the cake I got was strawberry crunch cake and red cheese cake brownie. That cake was the most moist cake I have had in a while and that browine OMG so good. I will be back

Amazing!! The banana pudding cheesecake is heavenly! So many different options.. every kind of cheesecake imaginable! Friendly and fast service! I can’t believe I’ve waited to come here for so long. I have to try every flavor now!

I received good reviews from people I trust. I purchased a single order of peach cobbler and what I got could hardly be referred to as a dessert. I got a container full of crust that was too hard to poke into, let alone eat. There was maybe three small slices of peaches and hardly any filling at all. Based on what Ive heard, I may give other items a try FAR in the future but Im very let down from this first experience.

This was the worst and waste of money I thought I was paying for a Freshly baked Jumbo chocolate chip cookie ended up getting a unbaked dough with chocolate chunks in it. I don’t want to get sick from eating a undone cookie so I just tossed them both and I will never order from here again. This was my second and last time spending any money at this bakery that doesn’t bake anything correctly. Cake is way to sweet and sits out so it’s never fresh. Never again. Another thing NO REAL BAKERY HAS COLD FRESHLY BAKED ITEMS.I can’t respond to the owner so I’ll put it here keep the 2.30 whatever change plus the Delivery Fee your going to need it because that’s MAJOR LIE nothing is Freshley Baked you go out and buy it and you will be investigated soon if you aren’t already being investigated. Every single thing Ive tried has been fantastic. Love supporting such a sweet looking, private black owned, East Charlotte business! The cheesecake stuffed apples and devil dog are especially amazing.

I have been to BW Sweets a few times and had a great experience each time! I had a coconut pineapple cake made for Dad, on his birthday! BW, really delivered on the presentation & taste of the cake! I will be back!
