My husband and I wanted our countertops and backsplash redone along with removing our old bulky corbels a d replacing them with flush mounts that we would t hit our knees on when sitting on our bar stools. When we went to the design room in Ballantyne we met with Hemant and he knew exactly the look we were going for. He priced us out for a new sink, countertops, corbels, and backsplash for lower than all of the competitors and the work is absolutely beautiful!!! We would definitely recommend Universal Stone to any friends or family.

I just had the most pleasant experience with Universal Stone. I was referred to Nicki and from the first meeting she understood what I was looking for and set out to find it. Due to back order on the quartz I selected (as most supplies are these days), Nicki was in constant communication with updates. The install team was on time, courteous and respectful of my space. I HIGHLY recommend.

Working with Universal Stone was easy, professional, and resulted in a great end product. We had some custom built-in cabinets made and Universal Stone provided the Calcutta Maya quartz tops. They came to measure for the template and the installation was done about a week and a half later. Their installers were right on time and left our home clean and new counters looking great.Universal Stone provided the most competitive price for our job and we are extremely please with the experience. We will certainly use them again in the future for any quartz counter needs!

Nicki showed us a piece of fantastic leathered marble, which we immediately chose for our bar project! The slab was large enough that we could create both levels of our bar from it for fluid veining from one level to the next. The installers were wonderful - professional, personable, and GREAT at what they do. They allowed me to shadow them through the cutting and installation process, kindly answering my questions, and teaching me about what they do. During installation, I realized that one section of the counter would require an unplanned grommet hole. They asked for my opinion for location and size, and made great recommendations for size. They cleaned up the minimal mess that was made during a couple of small inside cuts (including the grommet hole). They kindly installed our sink, sealed the marble, and let me know to allow the sealant to set a couple of days before use. The counters look flawless. The price was on-point. We could not be happier!

Wonderful and quick turnaround. I contacted Ali to assist with granite installation for a home we’re selling. She was able to get everything set up and the installation complete within 2 weeks. All appointments made were on time and the actual installation was quick and easy.I like that the contract laid out everything for us and there were no questions or gray areas. Where do I begin?? This business has repeatedly exceeded my expectations in so many ways. I always deal with Lexi and she is always so courteous and friendly. I am in the Construction/Real Estate industry and use Universal Stone approx. 8-10 times a year for about the past 7-8 years or so. I would never go anywhere else. Their color selections are fabulous and their prices are very competitive. The template people and the install workers are just as nice and accommodating as the office staff. They always work around my schedule and even when I am difficult, ( which is often) they still put up with me! This is one of the most customer oriented businesses I have ever dealt with. Their main concern is customer satisfaction! If I could give 10 stars, I would!

We were redoing our half bath - not a huge project, but still multiple pieces to coordinate. Their design associate helped us every step of the way, from matching paint colors with tile, searching multiple resources for the exact look we wanted, and even helping us decide which way to lay the flooring.The manufacturing facility is so cool to see and is right there next to the showroom. We got to pick out our materials in person, and could see them being custom created. They are a really solid, truthful company, that are very driven to get each project done perfectly for their clients. Highly recommended!

I’m so glad I found Universal Stone! After going to a different stone yard, I didn’t find exactly what I had envisioned. I stumbled across this little west side gem! From the moment I walked in Nadine was very helpful and guided me throughout the warehouse. They had an entire warehouse of the stone I was looking for! We quickly found one that was within my budget. The quote, template and measurement process was painless and the install guys were fabulous! Worked with Universal Stone to have kitchen counter tops replaced. They came, measured, picked out a quartz product and quoted $4,700 for the job. Called them to get the job started and they told me it would be an additional $1,800. When I asked why, they said they made a math mistake in my quote and they could not do the job for the price quoted. However, another quote I had for the job was $4,200. I went with them because they were recommended by a friend and they don’t subcontract out the install work. Feel very used by the experience.

Lots of choices and good range of prices.

I used this company for kitchen counter and sink install. I have had nothing but problems from pricing to quality to warranty. It is difficult to get their assistance on anything and they are hardly professional in communciation.

When it was time to update our countertops, we had a good idea of what we wanted. But we needed someone we could trust guiding us through the process. New to the area and without any recommendations, we called around and eventually visited five fabricators. One gave me no confidence -- the interaction was poor and their equipment was old. One was more interested in high volume apartment projects so not a good fit. The other three, including Universal, were professional and competent. Three things set Universal apart though. (1) Their sales person provided value-add design advice that improved our final product. (2) Their fabrication equipment is hardcore. I dont suppose to know how it all works but there are several pieces of expensive-looking, high-tech equipment in there including a water jet which the slab warehouse said was important (minimizes waste). (3) Their operations team is great. I spent a lot of time with two great guys named Chris. One did the templating. His vision for how to lay out the stone in our kitchen was different (and better) than mine. He was patient, professional and easy to work with. The other Chris is one of the top bosses. He engaged on the project early on. He gave us confidence that the ops team was a professionally managed shop. And then he even visited our house once when we had a post-install question. He resolved the minor issue on the spot and he even put on another coat of sealer while he was there. The project was done well, on-time and on budget. No mid-project surprises. Their people were responsive to my questions throughout the process. I highly recommend the Universal team.

Proper installation would have taken 20 minutes longer and cost $2 in materials, now it’s a $600 repair job.Owner doesn’t return calls.I won’t trust another home to Universal Stone of Charlotte.
