I was running a few minutes late so I called in to be courteous and gave them heads up. I was told I would be fine. Once I got to the front desk, girl proceeded to tell me I was 11minutes late. Had I been 10minutes late, I’d have been fine. Just horrible! I had to cancel the appointment because, essentially, I was 60 seconds late. I was treated like a statistic with no compassion. Never going back.

The team in this office was extremely helpful when I was getting new glasses. They explained all of my options and allowed me to get glasses that met all of my needs. They were not pushy and very professional.

The nicest staff and the best exam! I really enjoyed my visit here. I felt like I was amongst friends. Dr. David Wells is one of the friendliest, nicest and thoroughly doctors I have dealt with in a long time. I already made an appointment for my spouse!

This was by far the best experience I’ve had at any eye doctor. As someone who has put off having an eye appointment for a long time... I will be sure to start booking yearly appointments at this location.The doctor was friendly and efficient. Aimee was great (and patient) picking out frames. Jon went above and beyond to learn more about me while fitting. All that, and it was a 3 day turnaround time from appointment to getting my new glasses!This is my second google review ever written.. but they definitely deserve 5+ stars.

I am a new patient with this location. I am very satisfied with the service I received, as well as working around my child being with me. My son who is 3 years old came me with me to my doctors appointment, upon arriving to this location we were greeted with love, and a coloring book. Everyone was very patient with us and took their time to help us while he was their. The process went smoothly due to their experience, and loving nature. Their was help available as well for making sure I stayed in my insurance expenses to avoid over charge. The only complaint I have is coating added to the price without asking if that is what I want. Other then that very satisfied, and cant wait to receive my eye glasses so I can see with correct vision.

As if having vision issues isn’t enough, this office makes your vision needs even more of a nuisance. Do NOT become a patient here! They treat you like a number and are not very efficient.

I broke my sunglass lenses and walked asking if they were able to repair. The front desk lady was really friendly and fixed them up within 5 minutes. I thought Id have to drop them off and come back but she was quick and they were fixed. Very happy with their customer service and all of their staff were really friendly.

Office is clean, and the staff is friendly and accommodating. Experienced a miscommunication regarding a rebate offer when purchasing my contacts but the issue was quickly resolved by management. I appreciate the diligence in making sure my needs were met and ensure I was satisfied. I will definitely refer friends and colleagues!

Some unqualified sales person, Dean was on the job and didn’t provide any update on my order for more than a month. When I called their office requesting details, I was told that order was never placed in the first place! Sales Manager Carol was able to help with my queries and she was able to help me with the order!!I have been visiting this clinic since 2015 and Carol proved that these people do care about their customers!! Thank you Carol!!

Love this office! I have been going to this location for the last 4-5 years. Dr. Virnig is wonderful and it shows through how she and her staff treat the customers. Trudy is amazing. She is always in a great mood and will help you pick out glasses that suit you and your personality. Carla takes the time to go over everything. Carol is amazing. Before you order anything, shell let you know if its going to work and does her best to make sure you are 100% satisfied before you leave and especially when you come back to get your glasses and/or contacts. Cant say enough great things!

In Feb 2018, I went in for my eye exam. Dr. Virnig was fantastic as usual. I purchased two pairs of glasses, an everyday pair and a pair of sunglasses. I had no issue with the everyday pair. Unfortunately, due to the lens manufacturing lab and not the office staff, the sunglasses took about twice as long to come in. Once they did, one of the lenses had a small crack. The office staff told me to keep the glasses and they ordered a replacement pair of lenses.Again, due to the lab and not the office, when the lenses were shipped, they wouldnt fit the frames. I didnt want to try that lab again and suggested a compromise. I met with Carol, who went above and beyond what I had suggested to ensure that I not only had a good customer experience, but that I would have a great experience. Everyone makes mistakes, but Carol and her staff did more than I thought was fair to make up for the labs inefficiencies. I have been a customer at this location for many years, and will continue to be because of this type of customer service. Thank you, Carol!

I went to this location for the past 3 years and had great experiences until a week ago after the Dr told me to keep contacts for my right eye which was the wrong RX, but could be worn if I need it for distance. The Dr was very kind by making the suggestion because I wrote on the box, so technically they would be trashed. After wearing the new RX for 1 week to ensure they were a perfect fit as instructed by the Dr, I called back in to inform the office staff so the correction for lenses could be made, Carol, the very unprofessional office manager demanded I bring in the contacts I was told to keep While trying to explain, the Dr told me to keep them, I politely told her to speak with th Dr regarding this and quickly disconnected the call after! She was so rude,! The next day she called back explaining she will place the order for the correct contact. Before the conversation could finish she again started demanding I bring the contacts back. I interrupted her by asking if shes spoken with the Dr and she rudely said NO! I again started explaining and before I could complete my sentence she yelled stop YELLING at me! I immediately knew this woman was mentally unstable because it was impossible for me to yell because I was recovering from the flu and did not have a voice. I firmly told her to have the Dr call me. She said she would but NEVER bothered to give her the message. I continued to call the office for 3 days after not receiving a call from the Dr, making the same request and she refused to relay my message to her. The final day I called she refused to give me her corporate office contact information so I could file a formal complaint against her . however one of the other offices stepped in to help with this situation and gave me the information I needed to file my complaint as well as ordered the right RX without making demands . Carol is very RUDE and UNPROFESSIONAL and I will NEVER go back into that office again as long as shes there!

Dr is standard. Front staff is incompetent. When I last purchased contacts from this place I had to correct the sales person multiple times as they told me misinformation and was coming up with incorrect totals based on the information he provided.In addition, front desk staff doesnt pay attention to when people sign in, even though the person in charge of patient sign in looked right at me while i signed in, and it took them 15 minutes to give me paperwork. She had the excuse of me sneaking by. Again, she looked right at me while I was signing in.It wasnt until 40 minutes after my appointment until they took me in for my appointment. If you have a busy schedule and are looking for a place to get an eye appointment in quickly, another eye doctor in uptown may be better suited for you.

My first day I got wonderful service. The day I picked up my glasses the receptionist didnt seem to recognize me, didnt seem to want to be bothered and just handed me my glasses. She didnt sit down with me to make sure they fit properly and didnt offer to get someone else to do this. I was wearing a suit with an expensive leather purse my first visit. When I picked the glasses up I had on jeans a t-shirt and a less expensive cloth handbag. Just makes you wonder.

I will never go here again. The Staff is very unwelcoming. One staff was complaining about her job. The only pleasant experience was with the actual Dr.Everyone just seemed so blah as if they didnt want to be there...whole experience was awkward.

Completely agree with other posts on here regarding the rude and unhelpful front desk staff. The office staff, particularly the woman with blonde hair, are rude for no reason and unwilling to go out of their way to help you. I ran out of contact lenses and needed a pair to get me through the week until an order would come in, and she refused to provide any trial lenses to help me out, even though they had my prescription on file. I of course offered to pay for them, and she still refused. I’ve had this happen to me in the past at other businesses and eye doctors and they were more than willing to give me some trial lenses. Will never go to this location again.

This is quite interesting. I dont know why they are uptown when they dont have customer service skills. I had a very similar experience described by others reviewers. I went into the store and I wasnt even greeted. The office manager was the only person at the front desk, granted I was the only customer. She was on the phone having a personal conversation and not once she stopped or paused to ask me if I needed help or what I was looking for. After I spent about 10 to 11 mins there, on my way out she acknowledged me and asked if I needed help? REALLY?

Its unfortunate to see such ugly reviews regarding the service at MyEyeDr Uptown as I have yet to have a terrible experience there or any other location. I guess the ignorance comes from not knowing the importance of having a yearly eye exam/contact lens fit which is detailed on the forms you sign before you begin your exam. Trudy, at the front desk, is so very pleasant. She greets you with a smile and helps you with insurance before the exam. Karla, the optical tech, goes over the paperwork with you again as the exam begins and provides options which will work best with the insurance. She did a great job explaining to me why the photo is so important, why would anyone ever want to be dilated again?! lol Dr. Virnig is absolutely amazing and explains things in a way you would understand and feel comfortable with after your exam. Carol is the final, if not most important piece of the puzzle. She runs the office in a warm way and puts you at ease when picking out glasses and making the decision to by contacts. Everyone is so warm and friendly which is what you should expect at a high end location such as this one. I will continue to visit for my optical needs.

Dr. Virnig is *amazing* and this 3 star has nothing to do with her. She gets 5 stars. The three stars has to do with management. I called from work driving to pick up my contacts prior to going out of town for Labor Day. I had asked if they could be shipped to me because I knew this would be an issue - was told they could not. The man (Joe?) who Id asked said no problem, if you call ahead, Ill bring them to your car so you dont have to park which is what I did. Instead I was met on the phone with a rude woman who I think was the manager or owner who told me we close at 5. I was on the way but was worried I would be a few min (5 at the most) late finding parking uptown on Tryon. She did not offer to run the contacts out, as previously indicated but was focused on the 5pm closing time the doors lock at 5 as if a robot closed them. Well, thankfully I was able to park and run in by about 4:56 --- to be greeted by an empty front desk. I had to nearly yell to the back to even get the woman to meander to the front and give me my contacts. I found that pretty rude after she had told me she was waiting to lock the door on my face. My insurance dictates I go to MyEyeDoctor. They must pay Dr Virnig pretty well because she should be working at Charlotte Eye ENT, where I used to go when I had a choice - much classier outfit.

OK, first of all, the review on here that was written without ever having been to MyEyeDoctor...that is such a dishonest way to drop their ratings, and is so undeserved. Hopefully its removed. Ive been to MyEyeDoctor twice--once for new prescription glasses with a prescription provided by my previous eye doctor, and once for an actual exam for new contacts/general wellness. Both times, they have been prompt to assist me, and friendly out front. MyEyeDoctor is up on very recent technology; for a small additional fee, they did not have to dilate me, but rather took images of my eye, so I my appointment time was shorter and I did not have impaired vision by the drops. The pressure test was the same way; no big puffs of air in my eye, just a gentle little puff, like putting a contact in. Dr. Virnig was AMAZING--she figured out the perfect prescription to make my vision crystal clear (first time in years Ive seen this well; they said my current contacts had me testing way off from where I should have been), and made sure to listen to my concerns and address them thoughtfully. She also gave me the full breakdown of my eye scans, including what any abnormalities might mean. I believe Carol helped me with my lens order? She was very professional and warm, and made sure all my ducks were in a row before I left, that day. The whole appointment and ordering process took right around an hour, with very little waiting time in between steps--most of the time was spent perfecting my prescription and doing the vision tests, which is great. Ill be back, and I hope youll consider trying them out.

I was serviced by the uptown My Eye Dr location managed by Carol. I have been going to this location for 2 years now. My current experience was the worst overall service I have ever received at any establishment. I brought in two frames to have my eyeglass prescription to be put into. I talked with the technician extensively about the lens types offered. She ensured me that with the thinnest lens (nearly $300 each) that there would not be any thickness on the sides. So I paid for the thinnest lens including all other additions (anti reflective, blue light, etc) for both pair of glasses (nearly $1000). I will list all things that went wrong in the process:1. I had to call and follow up multiple times regarding the status of my order. I was told the frames would be in by a certain date, and they were not ready until 8 days later.2. When I came into the office (not because they called me to let me know my frames were ready but to check on my order), after searching the back for 20minutes they found out that one pair had in fact come in. The lenses were extremely thick on the sides, unlike what I was promised. When I expressed my unhappiness with Carol, she simply stated we dont provide refunds, and that is their policy.3. I had never been informed of the policy prior to paying for my frames IN FULL, nor is the policy stated on the receipt. Carol stated that the policy is posted within the store. The policy is an 8x11 poster tucked in the corner of the store where no one can see it. You would think that a policy as important as that one would be posted on the front desk, on the front door as you enter, and on every receipt. But no, it is not.3. I had to request Carol to take note of my request for a refund as she simply stated she had to call the district manager. She did not express any apologies for my time and money wasted or my unhappiness due to the incompetence of the technicians.4. When the second pair of frames came in, I went to pick them up. ONLY because I saw the order paperwork from the technician, I noticed that my orders had not even been made for the thinnest lense (.74). When asked why, the technician mentioned that the thinnest lens would not have been available for several weeks so they executed my orders for the next thinnest. I PAID FOR THE THINNEST LENS YET THEY CHANGED MY ORDER WITHOUT MY CONSULT (NO CALL OR MESSAGE TO ASK IF I WOULD BE OKAY WITH THAT) OR CONSIDERATION/CONSENT. They did not think anything was wrong with this and had I not asked, I would not have been told or disclosed that the order THEY made was cheaper than WHAT I PAID FOR. THEY WOULD HAVE KEPT ALL MONEY THAT I OVERPAID.5. Only after this point did Carol agree to a refund.Regardless of my refund, my experience my horrendous and the most frustrating experience ever. This store is POORLY managed, all policies need to be reviewed and updated, and all workers need serious training. I can only imagine how many other clients are getting ripped off without even knowing. I will not be returning as a customer and encourage others to never attend this store as well. If you do, PLEASE REVIEW ALL ORDERS AND CHARGES. DO NOT PAY BEFORE YOU HAVE TO. I have all documentation to support all facts above.

During my most recent visit I had my annual eye exam and ordered a custom pair of prescription sunglasses. The man up front that assist with picking frames ignored me from the start when I told him I had frames and just wanted the new prescription put in them. He became even more irritated as he continuously handed me frames that were just HIDEOUS, even after telling him multiple times that I wanted something simple. Eventually I decided to get sunglasses and requested my prescription so I could order regular glasses on line. What they dont tell you is that in order to get your PD, you must pay an additional $35 as an Internet waiver fee. And since the optometrist doest take this measurement it is not part of your medical file. The office manager was extremely rude when I told her that I was dissatisfied with their deceptive business pratices. Avoid My eyedropper unless you want to pay more money,deal with rude people, and have to choose from a selection of frames that include NO major name Brandes.

Dr.is great but the management is very poor.They gave us a wrong prescription and they dont return calls or answer them.i noticed a similar review and was hoping they would have improved in an year but for our disappointment we encountered the same issues.The only way you can get to them is by paying a visit.
