What a cool place! Stopped by before brunch for some coffee. We ordered a drip coffee and the honey bee flat white (hot, oat milk). The music inside was very loud, lots of punk rock tunes. It made for an interesting vibe, but I have no complaints. I want to go back to try their pastries or their bottles of beers/wines. They got pretty busy but the staff was friendly! Lots of seating options available, parking spots in the back too. It’s so cool that they have plants and other little merchandise items for sale. Definitely want to return next time I’m in Charlotte.

I was very pleasantly surprised :) Aside from a nice atmosphere, lots of seating and great staff, theres also a wide selection of wines, including Japanese sake brands. I enjoyed my afternoon here for sure.(Be aware that they are currently requesting masks for entry. But thats neither here nor there)

One of the more Hip coffee places Ive had the pleasure of visiting. Everything in this place screams we take our coffee and drinks very seriously. I literally watched them weigh each part of my iced latte, from the cup with ice to milk to the shot of espresso; quite impressive. And with all that effort, my coffee was top notch, just the right balance of coffee bitterness and creamy whole milk.They also have a huge selection of wine and beer, and good sampling of options on tap. This place is definitely an upscale, get relaxing spot to have a coffee or a drink, whether youre trying to get some work done or just meeting a friend. Ill definitely be back!

This place is great. Have beer and wine, the coffee is fantastic, and the service was great. If you dine in, they put your coffee in real cups with metal straws, which is a nice touch.

I really want to love this place. The environment is great, the coffee is great.I order through the app almost every weekend, but literally every weekend it takes over an hour to get the coffee and it’s cold or warm. The last two weekends this has happened where my coffees have just been behind the counter when my name wasn’t called or anything. After an hour I’d get them. I hope we can be friendsAgain love the place and the coffee when it’s hot, but for some reason I can’t get it to work right.

Something I always look for in a coffee shop is good atmosphere, and this place has it. Super cool place inside with some awesome seating. Only downside is the seating is very limited. There are tables outside but if you going during a busy time it can be crowded. Coffee & tea are both great and the display is wonderful to. Shop also has a decent selection of wine bottles and beer for sale to take home.

We spent a long weekend in Charlotte and visited the Hobbyist every day we were there. Really good coffee, fun beer and wine selection, local snacks, live music, beautiful space - we wish we had a Hobbyist near our house! Really enjoyed all the time we spent there

Both of the drinks that we ordered tasted good, but were not hot. Will definitely try them again and adjust it was a one-off thing.

Absolutely love the environment and variety of coffee selections. The only thing I wish they would have is more edible options with bread/croissants included. I love that they have plants, wine, and lots of other cool things you can purchase to take home! I would come here just to buy wine if I’m looking for a good wine shop.

Service. Service. Service.I went to a cafe down the street and decided to go somewhere else to sit down after the lack of quality service. I came to The Hobbyist and felt right at home. The man behind the counter had the sweetest disposition. He was genuinely excited about everything I wanted to order. After having his recommendation for tea, I decided to grab a couple to-go beers because I appreciated the staff so much.

Very nice chill place. Outdoor seating and also indoor with tables and chairs or if youre feeling the lounge vibe they have couches. Super friendly staff. I tried their walnut latte with oat milk and it was amazing!!!! Also had one of their sakes and that was delicious as well. Totally coming back.

Spectacular coffee - we were in Charlotte for a quick two day trip and the coffee was so good that we went back on day two to try out more of their menu! Very nice service, and we were able to relax on one of their couches with our toddler for a while while we enjoyed our coffee. Highly recommend!

Wonderful atmosphere, and I was thrilled to see they have parking in back. :). Very cool vibe...great water dispensary (nice option at no charge or can buy bottled water) and coffee options galore. They serve some food/pastries, but not a full kitchen service. Overall great impression, and comfy seating situated well so not too loud.

Currently enjoying a (Local) Honey Turmeric Latte with Macadamia Nut milk. DELICIOUS! Love this place. I just wish there was more seating!

I could not speak any better about this establishment. If you’re in Charlotte or live here, this is the place to be.

Good prices and fun atmosphere. Prices are fair and the coffee and beer selection is great. Some of the servers will even put pictures in your beer which is a great unique way to put a smile on your face.

The best coffee shop Ive been to while traveling!! This is the smoothest cold brew you will ever enjoy. Its absolutely amazing. All the good coffee shop vibes are there, also lots of plants and a bar/wine selection. Would love to go back when passing through Charlotte again!

8/12/2020Stopped here to try something new in NoDa.This place has a great atmosphere and the coffee is delicious. I ordered a Latte and their vegan banana and chocolate chip bread. Total was $9.47 plus a tip. The banana bread was incredibly delicious and tasted freshly made!They have a big assortment of wines and beers which I plan on coming back to take a closer look at. They have seating inside, outside, and a bar. Definitely worth a stop!

If you like coffee and alcohol this is thr place to go. Theres no shame in getting a coffee in the morning and your drinks for later. Plus with the wide variety of options, you cant just go once!

This eclectic coffee shop is so much more than that - its got wine, beer, mimosas and more! The staff is attentive and friendly and I felt very welcomed here throughout my visit. There are deli snacks and items for purchase in case you are hungry, and theres a special on mimosas on Sundays..what more do you need?

Minimalist coffee and bottle shop located in Noda. Plenty of space and seating options (outdoor available as well). Friendly staff. Syrups made in-house. Latte was a tad foamy but tasted great. Overall, neat new addition to the CLT coffee scene.

The Hobbyist has great coffee and a great vibe. I love the frequently alternating taps and the fabulous wine! My wife loved the grapefruit spritzer! We cant wait to come back!

The staff is great but decaf coffee seems to be an afterthought here. Due to health reasons I have to cut my caffeine intake and the shop doesn’t seem to keep a consistent stock.

I love the coffee at this place and have been coming for over a year! I typically use the Odeko app to order and it’s proven to be very unreliable. Today I ordered a coffee through Odeko that was quoted to be ready in 10 minutes and it wasn’t ready after 30 minutes. I had to leave without the coffee due to an appointment. I sent an email to Management regarding a refund.Update: owner reached out and ensured a refund was issued and apologized. Thank you!

Cool place but I *really* wish they would fix the locks on the bathroom doors.Edit- Thanks for your response! I really like this place but it would be great it the bathroom doors didnt have that trick. Its unnerving to have people knocking all the time when youre in the bathroom.

You are 150% MISSING OUT if you haven’t visited this cozy, modern coffee/wine haven in Noda. The Bar is perfect during the day for getting work done & meeting amazing people.The staff here is INCREDIBLE. Never in my life have I met baristas as friendly & warm as these girls! Coffee is delicious (and the matcha was even better! no added sugar in this matcha!!!)They have a very impressive wine & beer selection, tons of local and unique brands.I will be coming back and bringing friends! Make sure you visit this shop!!!!!

HUGE fan of this place and can’t believe I failed to give them 5 stars until now. It will forever hold a special place in my heart because my husband and I would take our newborn there every Friday evening until COVID hit. But we are back to going pretty regularly now, and it’s definitely one of our top few places to go in Charlotte. The staff is so friendly, the croissants are incredible (and sustained me through my pregnancy), and they have a great beer and wine selection. And the ambiance is so lovely. My kind of place for sure.

Wonderful team of professionals. They were fun and full of energy. They even let me sing as I walked to the door. They all seem to be a true blessing.

I had the Vanilla and Lavender Latte, which is served with real Lavender leaves which brings it to the next level. Extremely friendly staff, live music and cozy seating make for an enjoyable experience. I highly recommend.

Strongly adheres to NC.Gov mandates. Very cool spot. Staff is friendly and effective during a rush. Coffee and drinks are high quality. Loads of options for craft beers and ciders. Prices are reasonable for canned drinks and bottled wines. It would be helpful to have some sort of organization between IPAs, Ciders, Sours, etc. If you really like ciders but cant find them, youre less likely to purchase them.

An adorable little shop on the edge of an upcoming area in NoDa. They serve an excellent selection of coffees, beers, and wines along side delicate pastries and treats. The owners are awesome and the staff is pretty great too. Very friendly and knowledgeable about what they do. Its refreshing to see a shop like this with a modern twist on an old classic. I will be back for a long time coming.

They rotate coffee varietals from some of the coolest roasters in the Carolinas. After you catch your coffee buzz settle in for some perfectly procured craft beer and wine. They have a nice selection of the hottest trends and classic staples. This is the perfect spot to work away from home or catch up with an old friend. If you havent been youre missing out.

This place is my love. I moved to Charlotte like 8 months ago & recently I got to know that The Hobbyist was just opened like 1-2 months prior to my move to Charlotte. Quality of coffee/ tea drinks is outstanding. The staff & owners are above & beyond lovely. The sense of community is always flowing in its air. The staff is super caring & friendly. Selection of their beers & wines is super professional. Friday & Saturday nights live music always bring extra extra cool vibe into it too.

This space is so convenient and the staff is super friendly. I ordered a large Americano and it came out really fast and probably one of the best Americanos I’ve ever had. It is now going to be my go to coffee shop when I’m visiting Charlotte!

Awesome place with friendly, knowledgeable staff. Top notch coffee, beer and wine (both to enjoy there or to-go) with a relaxed yet sophisticated vibe. Its the kind of place youd be comfortable hanging out for a long time - morning, noon or night.

Can selection is pretty good, bottle selection (for beer) not so much. Service was ok but the price for the canned beer was pretty steep 30 dollars for a 4 pack is kinda really high.

Pleasant environment and great beer offerings. The shop will turn into a live music venue at night and the atmosphere is relaxed and enjoyable. In the morning, they offer good coffee and tea. The place is clean and chic, except they have a door issue with their restroom. Don’t know why it takes them so long to fix it.

As a first timer, i was captivated by the charm of the decor and decided to settle in for a flat white. it was strong, bold, smooth and creamy. i loved every sip. theres plenty of seating and an excellent wine selection. i love this place!!

I stop by multiple times a week and I always get great service. Staff does a great job at genuinely making conversation when I sit inside as well. Glad to see theyre doing well even after everything going on with COVID.I highly recommend their great beer selection.

I have been coming to The Hobbyist almost weekly since July 2019 and it’s by far one of my favorite spots in Charlotte. The staff is so welcoming both morning and evening with great selections! I love getting my house-made latte flavors from Alice and Patricia then returning in the evenings to Rachel and Zach servin’ them beers! An overall wonderful atmosphere that I find myself spending hours in!

Really good beer on tap

A great place to grab a large selection of craft beers from across NC. Resident Culture, New Anthem, Haw River, Burial, and more! Has coffee, and a wide selection of other goods like plants and bakery items. Parking can be a little tough, but its a definite spot to try in Noda!

The coffee was on point with a caramel syrup that is house made and not too sweet. Also the place has a clean hipster chic with good seating throughout though a large group would probably have to sit outside. This was my second time visiting and I’ll probably come again!

Its a fun shop in a fun area. They sell coffee, tea, and pastries as well as beer, Mead, and wine for here and to go. I had the best matha lemonade Ive ever had. They made the lemonade fresh on the spot which really gives it that extra touch.

So happy to have The Hobbyist in a 2 minute walk from my house! I have been dreaming of this day for many years...a place to walk to in Villa Heights with awesome coffee and snacks that also serves as a great place to meet friends or visit with family on a lazy weekend morning. Early hours and awesome vibe. They delivered my dreams and more! Not only do they have really tasty coffee, they also have matcha and specialty drinks, as well as a roomy bar set up with beer and wine.Super nice owners too!
