Not educated staff. Rude behavior.I asked for a long espreso. They gave me short. I said this is not a long espresso and asked barista if he can make a long one. His response was : this machine cannot make long espressoFacts :1. He didnt tell me that in the first place.2. The machine CAN make any size of espresso. The barista was clearly lying to me. Bluntly!However, the coffee was good.One star because of the as@#§ who work there.I would not recommend this place!

By far my most favorite coffee spot in Charlotte! Coffee central provides a wonderful atmosphere and even better customer service. I really enjoy getting to go on a Wednesday when they have a discount on their bags of beans (I keep mine whole but you can have them ground for you!) They have a wide variety to choose from. Their coffee and small breakfast items are wonderful! My personal favs are an iced caramel vanilla latte with almond milk (they have lots of other milk choices!) And ham and cheese quiche! Stop by and see these friendly people you will not be disappointed!

Be careful when ordering Chai Lattes here. You apparently need to be very clear as I was very surprised to get a dirty chai this morning when I hate coffee and never asked for coffee in anything. Parking lot is so small there was no point in trying to go back. In route to another place to get the chai I want.

Haven’t been here in a while. Comfortable, underground shop feel. Coming here during the times they bake scones is my favorite part. The chocolate chip scone is delicious. Latte on the tart, creamy side. Also serve quiche, cake, and other pastries.Parking: small lot available.

This is my favorite coffee shop in Charlotte. I’ve been coming here for about 8 years, regardless of all the new places springing up and the other options around town. This place has the perfect vibe: It’s a neighborhood joint with great coffee and chill staff and zero annoying coffee pretentiousness. Get a Central Shorty. It’s a small single shot latte with a hint of vanilla. Anna gets the 2019 Best Shorty Award according to me and verified by an independent 3rd party. FYI.

Super cute little place! The employees hand stamp the coffee sleeves and then the recycle them as well! They have a huge variety of flavors and vegan milks! My soy caramel macchiato was HEAVENLY!

Sweet little coffee shop! 75¢ to go mug fill up on drip is a great deal I’ll have to take them up on next time! Several vegan options, fantastic chalk art, and lots of flavor choices! Only thing I wish they had was a little light music :)

Stopped by my old (1 year obv) fav coffee spot today. Got a sugar free HNut flavoured Latte and it was delic as always! *Central is open* and doing NON dine in service for you. Scones and other bite sizes are available too. Im told there is a new location on Camden that will open sooner (30-60 days?) than central avenue can which this locale days is later summer. Both baristas were fast, most helpful-I even got the new address written down for lazy ol me- and handed my fav F starbux coffee professionally created! To me at least, #CentralIsBetter !

This place is the best! The coffee is delicious and they also have incredible food options (their quiche is so good). Staff are always friendly! They are taking COVID seriously and strive to keep everyone safe which I appreciate.

Coffee is absolutely delicious. I haven’t tried any thing else, but next time I will. The barista was very helpful and I love the atmosphere. Very clean and would prefer this over a big chain any day.

This location is one of my favorites. I had a brother come into town and asked me to take him back here. It has a good atmosphere.

Had to order at the doorway. Couldnt see the menu or pastries inside.

Zucchini bread is good, got a large coffee and it seemed like a small in a large cup. Make sure they fill your drink up

Hear me and my father went to eat today we got our scones to go they are above average nice and sweet I would recommend this to people who like scones I personally got the raspberry. My dad got chocolate pretty tasty.

Cold brew was good and strong. Feta spinach scone was SO GOOD and filling! Quick service. Social distancing, masks, and cleanliness enforced!

I love both locations of this coffee shop! Although I think this one might be my favorite of the two. The coffee is fantastic and the staff is very helpful and personable. I enjoy taking people here from time to time. Also once I was picking up some coffee to go one random morning and someone else paid for my coffees! It was so cool!

My go-to place to grab coffee. A fan of the light roast, though I usually get a latte. They have sweet and savoury scones (raspberry almond and spinach feta are my favourites) and a lovely vegan chocolate espresso cake. Pro tips: a large tea au lait is the same price as a small and recycle your cup sleeve. You can park in the lot behind the white rabbit (really colourful building on central) or in central coffees small lot. Even though there are,, no parking signs on Louise, plenty of people stop there to just run and get something to go.

What a cute and humble little place! The staff was so pleasant from the moment we walked in until the time we left. By watching them work, it was evident they enjoyed being there. Their art work made with chalk on the menu boards was quite impressive. If you like your coffee bold and strong you will like this place. I got a red eye and it had a complete and robust flavor. The quiche was delicious!

Super sweet and charming, really cozy vibe and fantastically balanced coffee. They have great tea, and baked goods too. The folks working have always been nice, and many common allergens are listed and they have multiple dairy and non-dairy milk options for your coffee or tea

Ive only stopped in for a quick coffee and muffin so I dont know much about the vibe. The vanilla latte is great and about $2 cheaper than Starbucks. The morning glory muffin is pretty good. Its basically a carrot cake muffin and its very filling.

I went into this coffee shop super excited since this coffee shop has such high ratings. As I made my order the barista who was taking my order was super rude and sarcastic with me for no reason while I was nothing but kind and to top it all off, the coffee wasn’t good at all. I was so disappointed. I’ve had WAY better and I will not be returning. I can’t believe this place has such a high rating.

Great coffee, great syrups like lavender-vanilla or gingerbread. You will get a wonderful hint, not a super sweet awful smash of sweetness in your mouth. Everything is balanced and tasty.I love their baklava and the stuff is always ready to help and very kind and nice!

My favourite coffee place! Always get a blueberry scone and a breve latte on my way to work. The people there are super friendly and always quick! I also highly recommend “City Lights” if you like dark roast and you’re picking up a bag of coffee beans for coffee at home.

Quaint, small, pretty, casual, staff was laid-back but knowledgeable, working and cleaning and laughing. Some kids, some students, some regular folk just sipping coffee. Tiny parking lot, not much seating, forces togetherness which is quite lovely. I dont know why but this is one of my favorite coffee shops Ive been too. Its kind of just a coffee shop, and I kind of love that. :-)

Good coffee. Service is a little on the drowsy side. And they could use more places to sit - and more comfy seating. The laid back service and lack of seating takes off 2 stars but the coffee is quite good.

Locally owned establishment with serious coffee with an urban look and feel.Met the owner who was knowledgeable and very helpful. Try the cold brew on tap - one of the best I have tasted. Atmosphere is cool with brick walls and eclectic art. Highly recommend this place as opposed to the typical chains.

A really good cup. They brew at the right temperature and have a quality blend. You really can pick up on the fruity notes of their medium body brew and the toastier notes in the dark roast. There is a nice clarity in each cup, you truly taste the complexity in each cup.

I tried so many coffee shops and this one is the best so far. Really good coffee, warm and welcome environment with friendly staff. This is my regular coffee shop :)

This place is great. Coffee is very good. Deserts are very good and fresh. The only thing I would say is to make sure the restrooms are kept up as one seemed to be kinda gross.

Cute little coffee shop, limited seating, cozy and most importantly, good espresso. I came here twice for a latte and ham and pepper quiche. The latte was perfect and the quiche is good (defiantly made in house) but they cant seem to reheat it well. Both times they burned the edges a little and a small part of the center was cool but dont let that stop you, I happy devoured both.

One of my favorite coffee shops in Charlotte! The Jasmine Green Tea is divine (yes-the dramatic praise is warranted), and the vegan zucchini bread and every flavor of quiche are to die for. Also the baristas are SO friendly and welcoming.

I dont know how but way worse than other central on the camden road. Worst cafe au lait and latte with oat milks. Never again

LOVE Central Coffee! Everyone is friendly and service is fast! I always get an iced chai latte with almond milk and mushroom quiche. The best quiche Ive had! The muffins, scones, pound cake, and zucchini bread are also amazing!

Nice quaint cozy coffee shop with a select choice of pastries as well. Coffee has good flavor, and staff is friendly. I would like to see more flavor choices though. Has small tables and there is a nice little lounge area too.

Great little spot for great coffee. Atmosphere is great if you are alone and want to get some work done-- if you can find a seat. Not great for having a meeting. Small narrow seating area with all hard reflective surfaces makes it difficult to talk quietly enough to be private. The central shorty is tasty and the homemade baklava is wonderful.

I went on Easter Sunday and was fortunate enough to be served by one of the Easter Bunnys helper bunnies. Some local police came in for coffee and had their photo taken with the bunny. They had awesome coffee too. I had a latte and enjoyed every drop.

Came here Saturday afternoon, not enough room inside, got to walk out. Cappuccino I ordered was bitter to my taste, than normally. Service was good and friendly.

One of the only places Ive seen on yelp with 50+ reviews and a 5-star rating, and they totally deserve it! The staff here were extremely friendly, and gave me an extension cord so I could plug in my laptop while I was sitting in the outdoor area (which, by the way, is beautiful, like a tiny walled-off garden. This place would be great for a date). For my drink I had an iced cappuccino (they called it the Brad Pitt) which was phenomenal.

Our Sat. renewal & chill spot. Great coffee, friendly laid back (but hard working) staff. Calm, low volume background music - you can have a conversation WITH OUT HAVING TO BE LOUD! Nice, one-of-a-kind neighborhood atmosphere.

Favorite local coffee in town. Gotta get the Central Shorty and baklava. Also their frappachinos are extremely good. All the other coffee is great. Awesome atmosphere!Only downside is small seating area but they are expanding to South End of summer 2016 with larger seating!

Excellent local coffee shop in Midtown. Quaint with decent amount of sitting space to read or do homework. Great selection of drinks. Small parking lot makes parking an issue if they are crowded.

Don’t come here if you have a service animal unless you want to be illegally harassed, asked to provide documentation, and denied service. Such a shame to have encountered this during mental health awareness month. Shame on this business for not training their staff properly on how to appropriately handle situations with service animals!!!

This place is the epitome of what I think of when I think about coffee shops. The coffee is excellent, the baristas/staff are friendly and knowledgeable about their coffee, and the baked goods are always fresh and high quality. I would go here probably every day if it were closer to where I lived! If you can find a table, it is an excellent place do get work done. Im not sure I can think of how Central Coffee could improve?

This is without a doubt my favorite coffee place in town. The seating is a little sparse and mostly made up of two-tops which is great for all the singles working at their computers. There is a little gathering space in the back of the shop but I would not recommend it for group gatherings as it seems pretty quiet in there. The coffee is great though. The food is ok but personally would not head there if I wanted a snack. I would give them 5 stars but they cant make a real scone.

This is my favorite coffee shop in Charlotte. Staff are wonderful, very personable and know a huge majority of customers by name. Feels like I havent left home every morning when I walk in the door. The coffee is always superb. I recommend the light roast with a shot of espresso, they call it the redeye and It does the job for me multiple times a week.Cant go wrong with Central Coffee!

Relaxed atmosphere, clean environment, never loud (when Ive been there), kind baristas, awesome typography/chalk art as the menu, and a killer iced lavender vanilla latte. Whats not to love? At times, it can get pretty packed, but Ive always managed to find a seat or a table (usually visiting with someone else). Great choice for an afternoon where you need to work on your computer or a meet up with a friend - not the best if youre hoping to meet with a group.

Central Coffee provides a great spot for business or social meetings. Jimmy has done a good job creating a space that allows patrons to relax & savor a cup of great coffee! The fireplace makes a great addition on cold & rainy days.

Hands down some of the best coffee in Charlotte! Theyve developed a great cold brew that I think is just great first thing in the morning right out of the fridge! Also they make a fantastic French Press!
