In 2016 I contracted with Hughes Floor Covering to replacing the carpet in our master bedroom and closet with hardwood that matched the rest of our home. Hughes Floor Covering accepted the responsibility of providing hardwoods to match the home based on their expertise in the hardwood industry. They represented to us they had matched the wood in our home, and we agreed to contract with them.In November 2018 we requested an estimate from another hardwood company to sand and apply a lighter color finish to improve the look. We eventually contracted with this company during the pandemic and the work was completed in June of 2020.We found that the wood floors through most of our house are “White Oak”. But much to our surprise, the wood installed by Hughes Floor Covering is “Red Oak” (has a pinkish color to it). This was not noticeable before because of the darker “natural” stain that was used and only visible by having the floors sanded and stained a lighter color.I reached out to Hughes Floor Covering and they said that since it was installed in 2016, they weren’t interested in doing anything and the warranty would not cover the issue. However, the issue before us is not a warranty for defective workmanship or product. It has been discovered that Hughes Floor Covering breached the agreement by not installing the proper hardwood.It was promised as part of our agreement they would match the wood. To make sure, Hughes Floor Covering cut a sample out of our existing hardwood floor so their machine would identify the exact match and prevent this exact set of circumstances.The fact that Hughes Floor Covering has as much expertise in the industry as they do and have invested in technology that supports the accurate identification of the various would species, raises serious questions about how this breach of contract could have ever happened. The fact that they refuse to address the clear error on their part raises even more questions.

We had Hughes install hardwood laminate and carpet in March 2021 and it was awesome! Tim Brown helped us every step of the way. The installers were courteous and clean.

I’ve worked with several different contractors since buying my current house 2 years ago and Hughes rates near the top of all of them. Rodney was easy to work with when we were picking out our hardwood floor selections, he came out and took measurements and was on time and wearing a mask. The price quote was fair, and he ordered the product and had a install date scheduled within a few days. Anytime I had any questions he answered his phone on the first ring. The crew that installed it showed up on time, and worked all day on the project. They cleaned up behind themselves and the quality of their install was fantastic. No cut corners, tight seams and the moldings are flawless. You couldn’t ask for any better.

Flooring is a big investment in your home, and so you owe it to yourself to work with a solid company. Hughes is that company. Local, family owned, accountable. They employ their own installers, who are friendly and professional and who work darned hard to make things perfect. At Hughes, Angie walked us through the process. She struggled with us to match previous flooring, and succeeded better than we expected. Marvin and his crew installed it, overcoming many obstacles, acing the details, cleaning up afterwards. The end result is not only beautiful, it enhances the look and value of our home. We could have chosen a cheaper big box solution, but it was completely worthwhile to work with Hughes, caring professionals, and were glad we did!

A great experience! From beginning to finish Hughes was excellent. Rodney came to our home and did an estimate and was knowledgeable and professional. He sent us a quote right away. There was zero waiting! We went to the showroom to pick our style and wow! Lots to pick from. We went with a laminate and install happened within 4 days. The prices were very reasonable and the finished product looks amazing! Rodney has a GREAT crew. His guys came to install and were very good and professional. Would recommend to anyone!

I had a floor repair where I needed new planks. Their expert sales rep convinced me in writing they could match it and fully repair. The planks don’t match and they are even a different width. The worse part is they came by to look at it and then don’t respond. I’m glad I have their comments to me in writing as I will be using them. I do not recommend this company. The picture is hard to believe, I know. Yes, this is their professional work. Lol.

Before getting the floor done, theyre all nice and friendly. Great. However, after getting it done, several chips in the floor boards here and there were present, and we wanted them to take a look to work through the issue. Well, they said they were going to check but they never came and never even replied to our calls again. Guess money was the only thing they were looking for. Terrible service, they dont really seem to care about their customers once they get the payment. Think twice before choosing their service. Certainly not recommended.

We had an amazing experience with Hughes Floor Covering! We went with luxury vinyl planking for flooring in our whole house. Everything from the product, to the crew, to cleanup was top notch. It turned out better than we ever expected! The crew was quick, efficient and cleaned up everyday. We are so happy with our experience and would gladly refer anyone to Hughes!

Took 6 weeks total to get carpet installed on a single flight of stairs. At the initial install date they were short by 2 stairs and a landing so had to wait another week to fully complete the job. Not very responsive or informative about whats going on. Only when we expressed frustration did we suddenly get scheduled for install in 2 days. The installers left a mess of carpet fibers in our house and driveway. An all-around poor experience and wouldnt recommend Hughes Floor Covering to anyone.

We had all are hardwood floors replaced and all new carpet in our 3100 sf townhouse. The help with selection, the installation and the curtiousy offered throughout the process was superb. I would rate Hughes as 10 out of 10.You wont be disappointed using Hughes.

After recently having water damage, we were beside ourselves. Who do we contact, where do we look etc. After visiting several showrooms, we found Hughes Flooring. It took about 10 minutes to decide we had found the perfect company to do business with. Start to finish, it was a wonderful experience. The floors went down while we were in a hotel. Each time I stopped by my home, the gentlemen putting the floor down, spoke and continued to work. I found them very nice and professional. Excellent workmanship. I had a good experience with them on our first installation. The second installation didnt go very well...I was asked to reschedule and was happy to accommodate. The issue; however, was that the service order was changed again and I was never notified. This caused a huge disruption in our day. I felt like it was a clear message that their time was more important than my own.

We had a minor crisis in our life when we had water damage from an appliance in our home. After contacting the insurance company they dispatched one of their approved mitigation companies to remove the water, damaged flooring, and damaged sub floors. After 10 days of getting the moisture out, we proceeded with starting the reconstruction process using the same mitigation company, but a different division. Since they do not do flooring they were going to sub-contract it out. After they submitted an estimate to the insurance company which was approved, they came out with the sub contractor. We had decided that we were going to use the same flooring that we had, but since we would not be able to match the existing flooring we would change color. I contacted Armstrong since they were the manufacturer of our existing flooring, they recommended to that we go to Hughes Floor Covering to view sample in person. When we first walked in we were set on the same flooring we had. We were greeted by Angie, who was straight forward, knowledge and most importantly sincere. We explained what we were trying to do, and she was more than helpful. Then my wife spotted a different Armstrong flooring (Pryzm). This looked amazing and after talking in depth with Angie, we decided to do a little research. We decided to go with the upgrade. I called the company that the insurance company referred us and told them we were going in another direction. We called Angie and she came out the next day, completed the measurements, and I had the estimate the next morning. I sent that to the insurance company and it was approved. We gave Angie the go ahead, and a deposit (although she told me since it was an insurance situation they would of done it without it). This was on a Friday with the plan of starting the reconstruction (major job of new flooring, new subfloors and all new moldings) on the following Wednesday. Wednesday morning they came began putting our back together after a month of living in a home where we had to be careful where we walked. The spent Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday getting this job done. All I can say is they did a phenomenal job. It looks fantastic, and in my opinion this is a company who really cares about the customer, stands behind their work, and is a real of example of how a business should do business. We would never go anywhere else ever again for flooring. They definitely won us over.

Terrible customer service. My husband was sent there by the Mohawk rep and stood around waiting for someone to help him and when they did, they said the Mohawk samples are over there. He thought someone would come and help him but no one ever did. While he was there, another customer came in and left after no one acknowledged her being there. No way will we go back there! Awful customer service! Lumber liquidators had MUCH better customer service.

We had bamboo flooring installed downstairs and new padding and carpet going up the stairs and thru the entire 2nd floor. This experience far and exceeded my expectations. There were different crews for each and they were both phenomenal. Courteous, professional, and efficient. They arrived on time and went straight to work. They cleaned up before they left. We had never had this done before, so I didnt know what to expect and I was nervous, but there was nothing to be nervous about.

I have used this company twice in the last 10 years. This year when I needed to buy carpet for my rental unit, I made one stop...and it was this company. I probably could have gotten less expensive flooring someplace else, but at Hughes, I can stop in, tell them where it hurts, make an appt and then it is done.The installers swept and vacummed and allowed me to do a few things while they patiently waited (so i tipped them for not rushing me).I even used their credit services to pay for it via email.For me, this type of service was worth every penny of not having to run around town getting samples and comparing.Ten years ago, I wanted a runner look up my stairs and they took 2 different pieces of carpet and sewed them together to give me a look that has lasted without looking worn. I think the center carpet was a commercial grade or a tight fit. This custom customer service and the great choices are what continue to bring me to this family owned store.As a small business owner, I like to do business with the same and Hughes is one of those.

NO WAY WOULD WE RECOMMEND THIS COMPANY. COMPLETE LACK OF INTEGRITY. ONCE YOUVE PAID FOR THE FLOORING, GOOD LUCK! ZERO CUSTOMER CARE. $3500 OF FLOORING DOWN THE DRAIN. FLOOR NEVER LEVELED, SPLIT DOWN THE HALLWAY SINCE DAY ONE.
