This is the third vehicle Ive bought. This experience was by far the best, and fastest purchase Ive had. The cars I looked at were in fantastic shape, and they had enough options that I was able to find a quality vehicle in my budget. I highly recommend them if youre looking for a used vehicle. Ask for Eric. Definitely some of the best customer service that I have ever received.
Teddy is the goat. Ive purchased 4 cars from them (2 for me 2 for my wife) in the last 5 years.
My best job
Teddy,Steve, and Lisa were absolutely amazing to work with. They made the car buying experience hassle free and were even willing to meet me at my budget for the car i wanted. Theyve set a standard on customer service that is near impossible to top and I wont ever see myself buying from another dealership ever and I will be recommending this place to everybody i know. Dont stop being awesome!
Lot appears to be mostly empty of sellable vehicles. Its on belief that the owner may in the market to sell.
I want to express my gratitude to Teddy, and all those at Tryon Auto Mall. I drove from Kentucky to look at a vehicle, and Teddy was gracious enough to meet me even on a day the business was closed. He was knowledgeable, personable and professional. I had not purchased a vehicle since 2005, and it didn’t take me long to realize how much the car buying experience has changed. After countless encounters with people selling vehicles who lack integrity, it was so refreshing to meet with and do business with Teddy. I love my new car, and it was worth the wait.
Friendly happy customer service, willing to work with buyer they held a car for me since I live 2.5 hours away with a small deposit. I would recommend this place for a used quality car just wish they were in Durham!! All the staff are friendly and knowledgable
Words cant describe how thankful Im to this place and the folks work here. Teddy is super helpful with the question I have and even the after care! Very very very nice customer services. Lisa, the manager, I told her Im going to Cancun this December, she immediately gave me a list that I must visit during the trip.I highly recommend this place to everyone, nice folks and nice services.
Called in advance about a vehicle that was advertised on car gurus and on their website. I told them I would be there in an hour and wanted to see this particular SUV. I was told to come on up. No problem. I drove an hour and ten minutes to be told “sorry. It’s at our lot in Monroe. “. Not how to do business!
This is the best place in Charlotte to buy a car. Teddy is the # sales person. Ive purchased two cars and referred several people to do the same. I would never go anywhere else
**BUYER BEWARE** I am writing this review on behalf of a friend that bought a car from here. We found the car online and went to look at it in July. The front passenger side tire had to have air put in it before we could test drive it and the salesman said he would have the tire checked to make sure it was ok if he purchased the car. Also noticed some hesitation when the car started. The car was purchased and the tire checked out fine, according to the salesman. We drove from Charlotte back to Spartanburg, SC with no issues. The very next day, the check engine light came on. That issue costed almost $3,000. After they were contacted about that issue, we were told that we should have brought it back to them to check it out (after reading other reviews, I’m glad we didn’t because they probably wouldn’t have done anything anyway). After that issue was fixed, we were still having to put air in the tire (the one that checked out ok) at least once a week. We took the car to have the tire checked for a slow leak and come to find out, the rim was so damaged the tire wouldn’t hold air and the rim wouldn’t even stand up straight. The rim had to be replaced (another almost $300). We contacted them about the rim to see if they would reimburse any of the cost for the rim and were told no. Our issue with this is that the salesman told us the tires were brand new which means that someone knew the shape this rim was in before the car was sold. A dollar is worth more to this dealership than the safety of their consumer. The salesman my friend spoke with assured him that a negative review would not hurt their business, and it might not but, PLEASE, PLEASE, if you are thinking about purchasing a car from this dealership, take the car and have it looked over by a certified mechanic before you buy it. Better yet, find yourself a reputable dealership and buy from them. Your safety is not worth buying a lemon!
Very helpful staff and very attentive to specific needs. Even when stuck between two choices, everyone gave me their honest opinions and pros and cons to each vehicle. Very happy with my choice.
I have recently purchase and 2008 Acura its been driving really well for the past few months since March. They are a very good company for Use Cars. They are respectful with your decision on purchasing your cars. They give really good deals as well.
Use caution when buying from this dealership. Trusting these guys was a $16,000 mistake for me. Bought a truck and after signing paperwork and paying them the salesman agreed to put fuel in it. The salesman drove and the truck didn’t even make it to the gas station before it started messing up, and they refused to fix the truck said there’s nothing they can do for me I bought it as-is. I even filed a complaint through the attorney general trying to get the issue fixed. during one conversation one of the salesman even admitted they knew truck had a mechanical issue before they put it for sale on their lot.... I’m sure there are plenty of honest dealerships in NC but this place isn’t one of themUpdate to their response below: everything they said in their reply is completely made up. The truck messed up the day I bought it with their salesman Erik driving to the gas station and told me if it does it again to let them know, well it messed up again on the way home and I called and spoke to the sales manager Ted who told me to change the fuel filter, when that didn’t fix it he told me to bring it back to their mechanic at their car lot who unplugged something under the dash and said it was fixed. I tried to get them to let me leave it so they could look at it closer and make sure the problem was solved but of course they refused to let me leave it. Well it messed up again soon after leaving and they said they knew guy in my area who could fix it and after several days of me calling Ted trying to get the guys info I was told they were unable to get in touch with the mechanic... then they suggested I take it to ford But said I would have to pay the bill and they would “take care of me” they told me to tell ford to just diagnose to problem but not fix it, so their mechanic at the car lot could do it. Ford said they don’t do that and if I brought them the truck they would diagnose AND fix the problem so when I told Ted he suggested I take it somewhere else.... after taking to a local diesel mechanic he diagnosed it to be the HPFP and Tryon auto mall refused to pay for the repair I even asked if they would meet me in the middle and just pay half, they still refused... then he suggested i bring it back to his mechanic so I paid to have the truck towed back to them only to be told the his mechanic isn’t “diesel certified” and he can’t fix it, then suggested that it would be easier to just trade my truck in on another vehicle on there lot but they only offered me half what I paid for the truck originally... they wanted me to take a $10,000 loss on trading it in. these ppl are crooks and knew the truck had issues and sold it anyway, then tried to take advantage of me by only offering me a fraction of what I paid and then trying to sell me another truck for top dollar... like I said these ppl are crooks and only care about making money once you buy a vehicle from them they WILL NOT stand behind it
GOOD PLACE TO BUY A VEHICLE. ERIC AND TEDDY VERY HELPFUL. ONLY TOOK ABOUT AN HOUR TO COMPLETE PURCHASE. THEY HAVE A VERY GOOD SELECTION.
Super satisfied with the treatment received from all the team of Tryon Auto Mall. Super Recommended!
***HIGH RECOMMENDED***I have been dealing with this company for 3 years and my purchases have been an amazing breeze. I have recommended Tryon Auto Mall to many friends and family! Speak with Teddy!!!
Tryon Auto Mall has a great staff I have no complaints about them I had purchase a lot of cars there and never had a problem will keep purchasing more car lovely day. And they have the best sale guys Teddy & Eddie u guys are the bestThank you
A lot of nice cars. Was very dissappointed though, saw a vehicle online that had been posted for 20min, when I get there they tell me it was put up by mistake and had been sold. Although it was still on the lot and had yet to be processed, cleaned anything. I still say they were holding it for a cousin/friend instead.
Fixing my review. After driving off the lot the check engine light immediately came on. Took it to a real mechanic and was told it was a busted head gasket someone tried to fix with blue devil. I have only had my jeep a year and had issues as soon as I purchased it. I know what the response is going to be. You bought a used car as is with no warranty and yadda yadda but shame on you for selling cars to people that you know have major issues.
Very helpful. My wife went in eyeing one car,but rode out with a much better offer and,a newer model.
I had issues from literally day one. The check engine light came on literally within hours of me driving it off the lot and cut off on multiple occasions within the first week. I bought it back in for them to look at it and they still charged me full price for service. Not only that, I never received my title even though the car was paid on full the same day and paid my $500 dock and registration fee. Here we are a year later and Im trying to sell my car due to the fact hat it doesnt work, and I still havent received my title after multiple time confronting them about it. They said I can get an electric copy from the DMV. After standing in line at the DMV for 2 hours, come to find out they have a lean on my car as if they own it. Im headed to the dealership now, and I just know theyre going to have more complications and hoops for me to jump through. Im definitely filing a complaint with the better business bureau asap. Working with Teddy and this establishment was a nightmare. Wouldnt suggest this dealership to my worst enemy
They have good deals on used cars. The inventory is packed in a small lot and it would be a trick to tes5 drive some of the cars.
Really good techs in the service dept
Very nice folks, purchased a beautiful 2013 Chrysler 300 from Teddy. The lot is not swanky, but they treated us more than fairly.
Bought a 2009 x5 diesel awd with 86000 miles on it from Teddy at Tryon Auto Mall. Within 30 minutes of driving on the highway after picking it up had a transmission fault message pop up and vehicle went into limp mode. Dealer gave excuse was probably bad fuel and replace the fuel filter. Have had the error pop up on long rides 30-40+ minutes and have changed the fuel filter.Brought it to BMW and they say two clutches fault code that is slipping and need to replace the transmission and a fuel pressure sensor to the cost of $9200.00. Called and talked to Teddy and he said he would talk to the manager and get back to me with what Tryon would do for me. Been over a day and they are not returning calls. Would recommend people not do business with a place like this.
I have had two great purchases there.
I dont typically get this pissed off. However, Eric sold the car before I arrived. After speaking with him 2 hours prior to my arrival he allowed a local buyer to put a $100.00 deposit down to come back a couple of days later. I would have purchased the vehicle that day. No one spoke of a deposit that day or the proir day. I spoke to Trixie and explained my time is valuable and that I am not interested in looking at crap and especially crap that is 4.5 hours away. I have been in business for a long time and this was just piss poor business. I tried to speak to the owner no where to be found allowed 3 weeks to pass before posting. I would not recommend this used car lot in a million years. By the way whoever purchased the vehicle that I was interested in should be weary of a few problems I noticed from inspecting and test driving the vehicle after it was sold too you. I own two Volvos currently. HERE IS A BUSINESS LESSON FOR FREE. THE PROPER THING FOR THE LOT TO HAVE DONE: IF SOMEONE IS DRIVING MANY HOURS TO LOOK AT A VEHICLE SET A TIME IF THE PERSON IS NOT PRESENT BY THAT TIME THEN LET THE CAR GO. IF THEY DO NOT FEEL LIKE DOING THAT I WOULD RECOMMEND MENTIONING THE 100.00 DEPOSIT PRIOR TO SOMEONE COMING TO LOOK AT THE VEHICLE. IF THEY FAIL TO DO EITHER THEN I WOULD GIVE THE 100.00 DEPOSIT TO THE CUSTOMER WHO JUST WASTED 4.5 HOURS OF THEIR TIME AND GAS. IT IS CALLED CUSTOMER SERVICE IN WHICH TRYON AUTO MALL NEEDS A BIG LESSON IN. On the bright side when talking to my friends in Charlotte and the rest of North Carolina I will know where not to recommend TRYON AUTO MALL.
You can get a great car at the best price
Buyer Beware! Dealership wont even return phone calls as promised or even discuss a vehicle they sold that required a new engine IMMEDIATELY. Know the people youre dealing with as well as the car youre purchasing.
Tryon auto mall is the best place to buy a good used car, Eric was very nice along with there staff, at first I was a little worried that there cars were bad but being a mechanic for 25+ years I asked if I could look over the car with a fine tooth comb they did not hesitate to say yes and even agreed for me to take it to a shop if need be to check the condition of car, yes it has a few issues but nothing that dont come with buying a used car, when I brought it up eric was on top of it to make sure they corrected it, very happy with them so far as I will come back to buy another car in the near futue, who knows maybe Ill go to work for them as a service advisor do to the fact thst i have a very good reputation for being an honest and good mechanic, keep up the good work, signed a satisfied customer.
Unfortunately, I think Ive found the place the dishonest used car salesman stereotype comes from. Lied about what a check engine light code was, cleared it, and then sold it to me with a cracked piston ring. The next day the check engine light pops up again, and I find out the motor is bad. I thought the place was shifty, but they replaced the cracked windshield for me while I waited without trying to charge me for it, so I actually thought they were on the up and up.Now the truck I just got has been in the shop for 2 weeks with over $2k in repair bills.I highly recommend purchasing a vehicle elsewhere.
Tryon auto mall is horrible. The owner is a complete fraud, the vehicles sold are fix only for the sole purpose of being sold. The vehicle i purchased broke down a couple of moths after the purchase and of course the vehicles there are sold as is. This business owner is pretty much Danny DeVito in the movie Matilda. I would not recommend that anyone buy from this Dealer Ship. They are extremely unprofessional and dishonest.
I am a young female driver.Checked out a 2011 Hyundai Elantra, carfax was clean but vehicle had been in a minor accident (learned of this at Hyundai dealership) Upon taking it to Hyundai dealership after purchase, rotors and brake service was needed. To top it off, an important bolt for the brake caliper was MISSING...risky driving!!!! DISCLAIMER: car drove fine with 2 separate test drives. RIGGED PARTS! I would not recommend this business, I am an avid HWY driver and my safety was of no concern for this business!!!! Purchase date 05/28/16. Date of review 06/07/16
I was very interested in buying a car they had for sale. Teddy even dropped the price $500 right off the bad because I was traveling from Columbia, Sc...that was red flag number one. Number two, through my reseach from the reviews online and on their facebook...I cound not find one positive comment for this Auto Mall. Because of reason number one and two, I decided to call back and cancel my interest with this car. Reason number three happend when some woman answered the phone saying, whos dis as if she was trying to catch her husband/boy friend cheating. Mean while, the car salesman Teddy gets on the line and I tell him why I am un-interested, insted of backing his business up, he AGREES with me and tells me to have a great day! I am so greatful for these comments and that did not fall for any of his good deals!!!!!
Was there for 45 minutes no one came to help us, place was a dump.
Friendly staff always a good experience. Thanks again to Steve and Teddy
