My husband and I just moved into a new home last week. In seven days, 3 different ADT salesmen have shown up at our door uninvited and unannounced trying to sell to us. At this point, we are so annoyed that we’ll probably use another company when we are ready. Nobody likes being hounded in their own home.
Ive had isues with alarm system, where the alarm was set but turn around its not set. I was home, watching TV and alarm set by itself, i find it weid. And another time i was not home, someone steal my solar lights out of my yard in fron of my door and the camera did not pick up nothing, but was told it picks up til 14 ft..🤔, but if thats so, why did it not pic up? Then this 36 month contract is bull, cause the service sucks. When talking to representative about getting service, i was told i would get door camera, window and door detector and i only got door camera, and 2 door detector, which comes with a kwy pad. Oh by way got a key fob, they dont work!
Misleading company practices and it took two years to get a refund for a fee charged to “inspect” my home, which turned into a pressure sell.THE FULL STORY:ADT called me and offered a rebate toward equipment for several hundred dollars and a monthly fee the representative said would be determined when their technician came to my house.Thinking ADT, by the name alone, was a reputable company; I agreed.Two technicians came to my house, looked around and told me all the ways they could break in because one of them used to do that. Seriously!? We sat down and the several hundred dollar rebate was only going get me a couple of window sensors, one door sensor, 1 glass break sensor, and the bottom shelf keypad/alarm base.To get my entire house, all of the windows and doors, an outdoor audible alarm, and the upgraded keypad with an LED screen--they quoted me well over $3K!! Plus, a monthly service fee of around $100. All of which was being written down in front of me on loose leaf paper.I don’t have exact dollar amounts because this was two years ago. I went with the Google nest system. Better quality products you can buy piece by piece, you can use on your devices, and NO PRESSURE SALES.
I just had the most unprofessional interaction with a salesman that Ive ever had before. Lee comes to my home at 7pm, unannounced, unscheduled...I tell him that Im not ready to make a decision yet. He says hes going to just show me my options so Ill know what I want when I am ready... itll only be 5 mins. THIRTY MINUTES LATER, when he asks when Id like to install, I tell him Im not ready to make a decision (like I told him in the beginning), he says the offer leaves with him... theres no contact information he can provide. He angrily says that he only works with proactive customers, not reactive. While ADT was first on my list of companies to use, I will never use them because of this arrogant salesmans that had the audacity to disrespect me in MY HOME.
I have been extremely impressed with my services from sales to installation and even beyond that with the Customer Service I’ve received since my installation.And I LOVE my system!
These people will scam you! Do not trust their sales pitches! They aren’t concerned with you or your family or your needs. Their customer service will say anything and not follow through. Buyer beware.
Reps will lie to you, poor service, horrible contracts. Shady business practices. Stay far away!
The technician was very good. He explained everything and helped me learn by prompting me thru the process. We really feel safer now that we have the alarm system. There have been brake ins in our neighborhood and that is what made us decide on ADT. We are comfortable with our decision and will refer all of our friends to ADT in the future. Thank you .
BEWARE! This company is filled with grade A scumbags. Had them come out and after the installer had everything drilled into the walls and fully installed did he inform me the price would be double what we discussed. I shouldve had him take it down right then and there but I went ahead with it because I had 3 days to cancel. Tried cancelling within the 3 day window and nobody will return my calls and theyre telling me they never received the cancellation notice.
Too much lying at people, need to talk to 8 people to get the visa gift card, and still I didn’t get it. You will not get any answers if you have questions about you bill. Great equipment, very poor when it comes to your money
If I could give zero stars I would. 3 year contracts make sure you not going to move before contract is up or you will be responsible for 75% of final cost. Equipment is very cheap. Service is expensive. Don’t do it.
Horrible. We had a system placed in July and have had issues with the system since. They came out twice for service to the main control panel with yet more service needed thereafter, with sensors that just fall off. ADT is a reliable service ((We had ADT in our last house for 8 years without an issue), but the Protect Your Home sub dealer did not place the system in correctly and after 90 days they shuffle your calls to ADT and cannot be bothered. Thank god for ADT Main office, they are sent repair guys out to fix all the issues.
I dont generally like to rant on businesses but in this case I warned them in advance. Do not contract with #ADT for your security service. After contacting them about cancelling 2 months in advance, having to sit through a sales pitch for a new system even though they knew we were moving to South Carolina, and being told that we just needed to call to have the system turned off when the phone line was turned off, they have the audacity to now say I have to pay for 30 days after that date because I had to give 30 days notice. #ADT, always in your pocket. Remember this when you see one of their commercials.
ADT arrives... The gentleman who installed it was very knowledgeable. He gave me good advice and helped me choose what I needed. I have faith that ADT will be there if and when I need them...
The tech was very friendly and knowledgeable. He walked me through the entire alarm process and did a great job installing the equipment with little disruption. Knowledgeable Tech!!
He talked so that you could understand everything. Let you ask a question when you didnt understand something.Didn try to hurry with anything. A great representative would highly recommend him and the company
The service was fast and professional. The rep that came was patient and helpful in his suggestions as to the best way to cover my home protection.
Friendly and knowledgeable staff took the time we needed to understand our options and then quickly installed the system. Also took the time to explain clearly how the system works.
Complete liars and unethical salesmen. Asked specifically 2 years ago when we signed contract if we moved what the policy was, told no charges and you just take equipment with you. Spoke with ADT corporate and that is completely against company policy, you are to leave equipment and our cancellation fee is $600. The one salesmen was a former Charlotte Police Officer and had the ethics and morals to lie right to my wifes face and I. Also, Corporate explained that there local dealers can say and do pretty much whatever they want and they do not discipline or hold them accountable. They are a complete fraud and will do whatever they can to get a deal, Ruthless Sales Tactic by this local supplier and dealer should be known for any future customers. I would highly recommend speaking to CPI security and when ADT tries to play the big corporation card, Know that the local dealer has no one to answer and how to treat customers. I will never use ADT because of how terrible this experience was with the local Charlotte, NC dealer
ADT has to be the worst alarm system provider I’m giving them one star because I can’t give then zero. Every time I call in a different representative always has a different answer to what’s going on and honestly make a giant mess at the end. I paid the same with them then what I do with this new alarm system but I get cameras, monitor and an app plus extra benefits. Honestly will never go back to adt
If I could give no stars that we’ll be better worthless company ever lady and the person who came Install install the arm both told that I we’ll be in one year contract and the 3 year one only apply to who has the video package now I stuck with them for 36 months that how they get you now I’m start to save up just to buy out my Contract and put my own security system I we’ll never recommend them to anyone as long as I lived and customer service is terrible if I can give them a zero on that too I would
Their entire promotions are based on lies. I would give no stars if that is possible. When we bought a new home we were contacted by ADT with a promotion that for zero dollars we can get equipments and set up service for a monthly cost of 29$. We were asked for credit card information and told that the technician will come, look at house and provide details of security service. We can deny the service if we dont like it. During call we were not told that they are going to deduct 99$. When technicians arrived it was Quentin Dancy, trainee Wil and regional officer Casey. I mentioned I dont want to setup any service today and that is when they mentioned that our credit card was already deducted for todays service and there is no point in saying no now. The mistake I made was that I should have denied the service even if were to lose the 100$.They were not transparent from the beginning, only after complete setup of equipments they revealed that we need to have a landline to avail the 29$ service and if not we have to pay 53$ . They setup lot of equipments that I agreed to install for 600$ and told that they will provide a door bell camera for free . At that point I didnt have a wifi and hence they said they will come back to set it up. Today when a new technician came to setup the doorbell he mentioned I have to pay a 299$ one time fee to upgrade to a get that service. I was not informed of this cost upfront.In addition to this, they promised a 300$ gift card since I was not happy before signing the contract. Later I realized that we had to get a gift certificate, take a money order for 5$ per 100$ gift card and mail the documents to MPell. We have mailed the documents and its been over 1 month and we havent received the gift cards yet. Every time we call Customer service, we have to wait for hours to get resolutions or updates.During setup we were also told that if we were unhappy with service we can cancel it up to 6 months. But when we called the customer service, they mentioned that they can cancel service only if there is something wrong with equipment and they cant fix it in 3 visits. Again this details were not provided to us.My biggest complain is that they were so caught up in selling the service and getting a customer sign up for contract, they were not clear on the conditions and transparent in explaining the costs and process involved while subscribing to that service. If I was informed of these in the beginning, I would have denied the service and not signed a 3 year contract. Please be careful when you get into sales call, make sure to take a day or two to think through and read the complete contract agreements before taking up this service. At the end of the day, it doesnt matter what the sales person say, once we sign the contract we have to live with it.
Sales representative was friendly over the phone and was fortunate to find an opening the next day for installation. The technician was knowledgeable, friendly, and explained everything thoroughly,
I would give negative starts if I could. Stay away from them. They force you to get equipment you dont need and then when you return it refuse to process your refund. I have been after them for about two months now and keep getting the run around and not getting my refund processed.
The worst security company. I will never get ADT again. Continously lied to by representatives about the contracts and pricing. This company is a joke. Do yourself a favor and get a non-contract security system.
They installed cameras that did not work. never answered repeated calls. did not allow me to cancel.
The day started out rocky because the company gave my tech Clifton the wrong address and he wound up in the DC area ( I am about 40 minutes away from his home office in Richmond, VA) and made him four hours late. Once he arrived, Clifton was very apologetic and got down to business. He answered all of my questions and concerns and got to work installing my system. Clifton was fantastic!!!!
Excellent service from a national co,,,, had CPI before,,, poor service,,, made me pay full contract even after i moved,,,, thanks ADT !!
