Been trying to get a quote for a garage kit and cant get anyone to follow-up or call me back. Talked with at least three different associates over a two week period, never any follow-up and previous person I talked with is never there when I call back. Amazing how they stay in business.

My husband went to the store on Rozzelle’s Ferry Road in Charlotteto pick up supplies for a project.He waited a few minutes and was noticed by at least one of the sales people.In the meantime, another customer came in.Rather than wait on my husband as he was first in line, the sales people turned to wait on the new customer.My husband assumed this happened to him because he is black and the new customer was white.Black people’s money spends just like anybody else’s money,However, this is one black person who will not be back.This incident occurred on Wednesday morning, March 16th.

I went to this construction supply company for a driver position...pretty much the job required me to drive a box truck to pick up and deliver supplies to construction sights...the guy Kevin that interviewed me said i had the qualifications for the job only thing i had to do next was cut my beard off which I wasnt ok with at all. My point is this a construction company not no fast food restaurant. thats like going to a mechanic and asking him to cut his facial hair. what does facial hair have to do with getting the job done. and it wasnt like I would be talking to the customers. I just felt that was unfair and was wrong.

Former repeat customer; today I tried to place a materials order for delivery over the phone today, was told I have to go into the store to pay. During Covid. Because someone burned them on a stolen card in the recent past. I asked if they can just charge the card that they have on record and ship to the address on record, as they are proven to be historically legit - was told no.This is a terrible way to do business, and I am certain another supplier will be glad to fill that order. Ordered 20 pressure treated lumber for delivery because we couldnt transport it ourselves. Took a few calls to have them confirm delivery, but each call was pleasant and delivery was quick and easy. Pricing was better than Lowes and quality of product was better than our previous experience with Home Depot.

Needed some plywood cut to specific sizes. Dan was very accommodating, the price was reasonable, work was done quickly and accurately. Thanks 84 Lumber.

I went to get compost from the county compost center, and stopped by 84 Lumber on the way back. I hadnt been to an 84 Lumber in probably 15 years. Wow. Lowes better watch out. I walked into a small store like area, and a gentleman at the counter gave me prices for types of wood. He then walked with me to a pick up area and actually cut the wood for me. I bought cedar to build garden beds with. They have a nice little store in the customer service area with just about anything you need. The process was so simple and painless, plus very nice from a social distancing standpoint. I dont know if the cost was more or less than Lowes, but the convenience and quality customer service alone will make this my go-to spot for lumber from now on. Great experience. Very simple and uncomplicated. No need to hike for miles through a store looking for an overtasked associate who is reluctant to help. Wow. Thank you.

We are building a home and they offered to turn key price it all. They sent 2x the lumber they needed would not pick it up. Then trying to get them to complete their punch list for framing inspection an absolute nightmare! They cost us nearly 2 months in our schedule. Really bad experience will never build with them again .

Great place for lumber and advice. Doghouse or Taj Mahal, they can get you the right material and at a fair price. Family owned since they opened. Can also get you quotes on trusses for your roof and I-joists for the floors if you want. Stop by, ask your questions. Great service and a fair price.

My experience with this company is less than pathetic. I guess they are too busy to take good care of their clients. When I started the process everything was really good but as it went on got to the point of frustration.The rep I was working with Nicholas Coccaro, a co manager at this store, can be helpful if he wants. But I got tired of calling him and be left in hold for over 15 minutes and him never picking up again. The few times I managed to speak with him he reassured me I will get an email within the hour, here I am 4 weeks later and no response.If you value your time this is not your best option.Sometimes a good price is not enough to earn business if you have to chase them to get things done.

Honestly I should probably give them a -1 star rating. We have a new build home that there have been several things the needed replaced or repaired by the original installer 84 lumber. These issues have been going on since December of 2018. Brett P. who is the one to assist in getting all of these issues addressed has been absolutely worthless. He never returns calls and is never in the office when I try to reach him. I had to speak with a manger at one point to get someone out here to assess the concerns during to no response from Brett P.Here we sit in February still waiting for several of these outstanding issues to be addressed. I may need to log a complaint with the Better Business Bureau.

Called to inquire about insuluation, was told they would have to order it. I told them how much I needed and the clerk stated they would call me back with a quote. Never heard back from him or anyone else. I would avoid doing business with these people.

Great place to buy lumber. Ive been using them as a contractor for five years. Lowes, Home Depot and other lumber supply companies cant touch there prices. Ask for Brian Miller of Nate.

Literally the least knowledgeable, least responsive, awful company. Ive been working with them for over 1.5 years trying to get my house complete and I would never recommend this company. Not even to my worst enemy.
