The young lady inside was extremely helpful and there is a wide variety of supplies. It was definitely worth the 2.5hr drive for me! I was like a kid in a candy store!
When this store opened I thought finally something that sales stuff that you don’t have to order online… unfortunately the customer service is horrible, the people can’t seem to care about helping you or explaining you anything! They seem bother every time you ask a question… they also rip off people by selling over price chocolate and at times (like this week) put the cheap chocolate in bags labeled as Merckens chocolate! I have used merckens for 10 years and the thing they claim to be merckens is not, they do this from time to time, they sale out of merckens chocolate really quick so I’m guessing they put the other cheap chocolate on the bags to sell it. Unfortunately I sent someone else to get it for me and they don’t know the difference. But if you go to their store and you buy merckens chocolate make sure it has a tip at the top of the chocolate if it doesn’t they have put another cheap brand in the bag. I have already sent pictures and to merckens so they can stop ripping off people
Only been to the store twice, first time I went, the employee seemed bothered that I was asking questions but she still answered them like a normal person.The second time I went in, a different employee was giving me ample attitude because I asked when they would receive a new shipment of something they ran out of, and she was acting like I was bothering her and as if she was mad I was speaking to her (nobody else was in the store btw so not like she was helping anyone else).Edit: they responded to my review and apologized for not having what i needed in stock...when that wasn’t the issue...THE ISSUE is the attitude your employees have, I understand business’s will be out of stock of some things sometimes, but my whole point for the review was to express the unpleasantness of the way your employees speak to your customers!EDITx2: they took down their response, must’ve felt a little bit out of it.
Loranne flavoring oils available in tons of flavors much cheaper than Amazon, Michael’s, or Hobby Lobby. Large variety of cookie cutters, fondant molds, food coloring, and packaging options. Really neat store awesome experience!!
I was in town for a basketball tournament with my son.. I’ve been wanting to go to this store forever but I’ll never go back... I totally understand Covid policy’s but I literally walked out that store and realized I got the wrong color of fondant... I hadn’t even go to my car I turned around to see if I could just get the color I needed and she wouldn’t let me.. I spend over $60 supporting this store.... I see if I had left and came back but I walked out the door and back in... on the future please inform all customers of your policy before they walk out.. I wouldn’t recommend anyone else here
I truly don’t understand what happened. I wanted to place an order for pickup, but their website was still charging me $45 for shipping. Then I tried to call to place the order but their number was not going through and their voicemail box was full. I stop in after work to place the order, and was met with the rudest lady. I felt extremely uncomfortable and disrespected. After asking if I could place an order for melting wafers, she rudely told me they don’t have any, and that they just got a shipment in. So I asked when that would be ready. She wouldn’t look at me, kept telling me she doesn’t know, and was practically shooing me out the door. I also tried telling her about the website and phone issue, to which she said “I don’t know what to tell you, there’s construction going on that cuts the phone lines out.” I ended up walking out because I just couldn’t handle being talked to that way when I did absolutely nothing to this lady, all I wanted to do was place an order.I tried calling the store to speak with a manager (this time I ACTUALLY got through) but this lady just wouldn’t stop! She kept talking over me when I was trying to explain how upset I was.I’m truly sorry if I offended you, I really don’t know what I did to make you dislike me so much.All I do know is that was one of the most distressing, anxiety filled encounters I have ever had in a place of business.
As a baker and one that deals with customers, I am very disappointed by the LACK of customer service here!! I ordered and paid for an image on their website that when I drove across town to pick it up, it was TOTALLY not the color I sent them in the file image. The lady in the front told me she cant control the colors in their printer and she is not tech savy!?Didnt offer an apology or refund for THEIR mishap, just a credit!?! I am not sure if I even want to do business with them anymore! This is the second time I tried to do business with them and was not pleased AT ALL! And the lady that sits in the front is kinda RUDE! No she IS RUDE!!! So I had to go on Etsy and pay $26 for overnight, on top of the $12 I paid Cake Depot NC thinking they would be the solution seeing how they are in business because of bakers like myself. Two thumbs down for me! But I am going to get my $12 credit and likely be done with them unless I am DESPERATE! What is so sad about this review is I am generally an easy going person, but that lady was so nonchalant and her energy was so rude on top of the fact my image was some kind of gray rather then brown...I was done!
I am very disappointed in this product I purchased today for my granddaughters birthday cake. While I understand they dont resize images, printing the image to fit the full page shes being paid for does not take any extra effort since they have to hit print to print the image anyways. If charging for full sheet why wouldnt her printer be set to fit page. Theres no sizing format nor different sizes needed to be selected to simply fit image to the page its being printed on, in this case specifically the 8. 5 in x 11 in sheet being used. I am a business owner as well and would never rip off my customers. They will always get what they pay for as I value my customers and business reputation unlike this place. I called the shop soon as I got home noticed all 3 of $12 ea sheet were not even half the sheet and expressed my concerns with her although she didnt care at all. She said she dont know what to tell me, customers get whatever comes out when she prints. I will also be contacting my bank to show them what I paid for versus what I actually received. If I could upload these images I surely would so other prospective customers can see how unprofessional this shop owner is. Just terrible.The shops response makes no sense as on the image description it says the image being purchased is printed on a 8.5 x 11 in icing sheet. Therefore images that are not multiples for cupcakes or berries should print on the full sheet. I submitted 1 entire tye dye image not multiple smaller images you would see for cupcakes or berries, even called and asked how to submitted the image prior to my purchase.Although at no time was I advised nor is it on description that you have to submit your image in landscape format in order to get the full sheet paid for as she informed today me when I called to express my concerns. The day I called to ask questions before purchasing she only said make sure to crop out anything you dont want in the image or it will print out on it. It defeats the purpose of paying for that size if they are not going to actually print that way. The size of the image uploaded has no bearing as it will print out how the person printing selects it to print. This shop is surely loading the icing paper in long ways/ landscape format while their print option is set to portrait causing it to only print across the page/ portrait.Also the rudeness and the fact she told me she didnt care makes it even worse. I would not recommend this unprofessional shop to anyone. If you all could only see these pieces of strips in the middle of sheet I was provided for $12 each and I purchased 3. Ill be checking my receipt to return all the additional items I purchased today as I dont want any parts. Eventually customers will get tired of being met with less than professional attitude, lack of care for the products they produce and being ripped off from this shop and wont order from them. I hope it was really worth the poor customer service and negative impact to your shop.Good Day!
Love this store! Weve shopped here several times for my preteen daughter who bakes and theyre always helpful.
I went into this store this evening and no one greeted me. I figured that someone was in the back and they would make their way out shortly. I walked around with my son for several minutes and heard two young women having a conversation. I know they heard someone in the store. I have a 5 year old who was talking loudly and I was also on the phone. I’m in customer service and I have also worked in retail. The fact that not one person greeted me or even checked to see if I needed assistance speaks volumes. I refuse to spend money anywhere that doesn’t value customers.
Everything you need for your baking needs. The packaging items were very reasonable. They had all your baking needs for decorating and storing your cakes and pies.
This is a hidden treasure. They had ALL the supplies I was looking for at a good price, and also gave opinion on the product she sells. That part is VERY important. Im definitely going back.
I absolutely love this store and have been going to them since they were at the old location, they always have what I need (and more) good prices, staff is friendly and always welcoming. This was a niche store that was BEYOND needed and I am so grateful for their existence
I had an appointment today as all services were by appointment only. Arrived 10 minutes early, however there were others waiting as well. No one was in the shop. There were people there who had appointments prior to me. I waited about 45 minutes and myself and the others left. No ones called us to cancel. We live about 50 minutes away and the drive was a waste of time for a no show.
Its a baking wonderland. That had everything I wanted and some things I didnt know I wanted. Its clean and well organized and everyone was friendly and helpful.

It amazes me how this new business does not allow you to return a cake box which was not used. I bought a box that was for a traveling cake and it was the wrong size. I spoke with someone there and they informed me that they know NOTHING about cake. How is it that? You work for a company that sales cake supplies.

I like the store and they usually have what I need. Im frustrated because online it shows the hours that theyre open. I wasted my time and gas going on Monday and I get there and the paper sign in the window shows theyre closed on Mondays:( I had to go back the next day to get what I needed. They need to update their website.
