This is a Do-it-Yourself persons dream store! Whether youre rebuilding something or creating something new, this place has EVERYTHING, including the kitchen sink! And all the fixtures, too! Theres also some household items like glassware and books and such. Definitely go at least once to check it out.
Very organized and tidy. Not much selection in some areas as there are in others; They are in need of quality furniture donations. All in all its still worth a look around the huge space for a gem in the rough. Plenty of light fixtures, kitchen cabinets and bathroom fixtures as well as doors and windows.
Staff usually helpful if asked. Depends on donations as to what you get. But Ive usually found what I need and more.
Great location. Decent parking. Great service. Friendly atmosphere
Overpriced items. They won’t allow you to purchase large items and go get a truck or whatever to haul. They say take with, no exceptions. Rude employees, no help loading large items. You have to rely on Good Samaritan’s passing by to ask for help loading. They sell overpriced items and when you ask employee why it’s so much, one just grinned and said she googled what similar items sell for on internet and price it accordingly.RESTORE! Don’t respond with a generated message stating sorry, will speak to employees etc. You’re not actually reading customers complaints to help improve the place.
I love going there. Got me some paint
Staff courteous and helpful. Lots of different types of goods from which to choose. I was unable to find what I needed
They barley had any thing there besides file cabinets. I also found a dresser with a sticker stating it was worth 50$. After another customer helped me get it on to a flat cart, i paid for the dresser, and was standing outside with it, an associate came outside telling me I had to pay more for the dresser. So, I went back inside paid 26 more dollars for a dresser that someone apparently put one of these difficult stickers on it from something else. Then, when I went back outside two associates from before and a different one all came out and looked at the sticker of a dresser I had already paid for twice by now to say yeah it was the wrong sticker before. None of them helped me, like I had originally asked of the one male associate who just ended up charging me more. Then, same nice customer helped me load it in my moms van. That was a ridiculous experience.
You gotta love the Restore. Wide variety of home goods, building supplies, books,... just a little of everything, all used or overstock. Prices are thrift store. Lots of unique items for the creative DIYer or repurposer. Occasionally you can find real treasures for pennies on the dollar. Almost every trip to Charleston finds my wife and I swinging by here.
Looking for DIY home project stuff, landlord supplies, heavy furniture or just building an upscale tree house, the this is the place for you. And youre helping with housing for deserving folks with every purchase.
I purchase two large shelf’s. And was told to take them with me. I told them my son was on his way to help me after I paid for them and ask them to put sold stickers on them untill he got there. And was told to take them outside with us an they wouldn’t help us take them out. They also said if I was to leave them and go outside they could not guarantee me that they’d even be there when I got back. Because if I went outside the could be sold again. They wouldn’t give us a sold sticker or a receipt to put on them. So my husband drug them together an sit in front of them until my son comes. What in the world has happened to this place?? These people working here now are rude and very unhelpful. They have the worst customer service I have ever seen.
Found good prices and exactly what we were looking for
Clean store and pleasant staff.
This store serves a triple purpose: providing materials for home improvements, furniture, and miscellaneous household goods to consumers; offering a convenient and effective way to donate unneeded furniture, etc.; and, supporting a great cause! Additionally, staff--especially Katrina--is always so friendly and helpful.
I feel like this place is overpriced and some of the things being sold is junk half broken. It should also have a bathroom there instead of sending people somewhere else to use the restroom. I was overly not impressed with this place at all. Asked question to someone who worked there and was not very friendly with helping us.
Nice and clean. No restrooms though....Edit from another more recent visit..... they chose to enforce mandatory mask policy even when its no longer required by the state, and I was rudely told I cant be in the store. I went to Huntington where I was welcomed.
I am very upset with my visit today!! Ive been buying things from there for many years, but today will be my last. I understand about the COVID 19 and keeping social distances but you have went overboard with it. I had to park in the back row, I went in the back door like I always have, but today I wore a mask. I got inside to see all the changes that were made like removing the shopping carts, blocking the aisle s with shelving to make it difficult to maneuver around your store. Then, when I go back to the door I came in like I always have, I was told by young boy in a security outfit that management wants you to use the other door. I said what other door? He pointed have way cross the store which wasnt to bad, but, I had to walk all the way to the other end of the store to get around the barricades to go out a side door in which now Im having to walk around the building down the street and across the parking lot to get to my vehicle. That probably wouldnt be so bad if I could only walk without being in a tremendous amount of pain not to mention being out of breath with the mask on. Its just my opinion, but if you want customers, then make it more convenient and show them you want their business.
Prices or little high on somethings. Fair prices on others
They have a good selection of various building materials and home furnishings. I would definitely check here first before buying new. They also have a small selection of small home appliances and even some books. No public restroom.
Chooses to enforce mandatory mask policy even when no longer required by the state. If you care about personal liberty and the right of your children to have a normal childhood in this country, do not shop here.
Asked to leave bc my 4 yr old toddler would not wear a mask. We tried with one she gave us. She said it was 2 and over that had to wear masks....K....whatever...... We were browsing the paint for our new 4th bedroom and 2nd living room. I wish I wouldnt have wasted my time driving 15 miles out of my way. We went on to Teays Valley Home Depot as originally planned. As always, everyone at HD was nice, helpful, found what we needed, paid full price but not even sorry, and he got his free wood working toy. From here on out, Ill absolutey spend outside of that hole in WV called Charleston. We will not be donating either.
Im always finding things I need or to be honest..just want for a very good price.
Love to shop bought some by fold doors was in great shape lowes price new was 400 dollars great bargain
This place has cheap prices and a variety of products that change almost daily. They do however need to invest in a few more buggies.
Really good place found what I was looking for and at a good price
Lots of stuff here. If you are doing some reno or have a home project in mind and want to save some money this place is perfect. Tons of hardware, furniture, paint (though some of the shades are questionable) its fun to poke around if your working on something or want to find something to work on.
Not a lot to chose from but Im sure it will get better. Some of the prices on things were fair but others were not...stain and torn couches and other chairs was a little pricey.
Good updates since COVID. Took me a few minutes to understand the traffic pattern, but spacious aisles are worth it. Found what we needed for a great price.
Fun, interesting,I could spend all day there.great finds,good people,Food,too .place to sit take a break,a bathroom.and back at it again I go❤️👌🖤.
I usually frequent this place at least once a month and love the employees. Its a wonderful place to visit because you never know what you are going to find if doing a project or just looking for something different or old. Its just a friendly place with friendly people doing good things for the community. Its always a treasure trove of good, old, nice and used things to help you make your home or project easier and cheaper all the while helping out your community. Go by and visit !!
Ridiculous prices for junk and they will not negotiate prices called gave me price range on cabinets got there price range inaccurate and items priced unreasonable...so I purchased new for $20 more
Very disappointing compared to what the ReStore used to be. It has unfortunately gone downhill.
The inside people at the registers are friendly but the workers in the back are very rude and exceptionally picky. I have donated many items to this store but after the treatment I got from the donation receiving people on June 6 2020 the next donations will go to goodwill. As for the items for sale inside most of the time I can get new items for close to the same price. I do not know who prices these items but wow!!
I really really want to love this place, but I don’t. I have found some things over the years and got pretty good deals. Unfortunately this isn’t the norm. I’ve often forced myself to buy SOMETHING because I know it’s for a good cause, but usually the prices turn me off. Yes, this is for charity, but it’s almost insulting to ask as much as you do for not so gently used items. I feel like I’d rather just make a donation rather than pay almost full retail for a broken down bookcase. Like all the file cabinets; do they know that it’s almost impossible to GIVE one away? That’s why the furniture section is packed full of stuff that’s been there forever. Don’t run a museum for outdated office furniture, mark it down and sell the stuff!
Great place to get used doors windows door hinges ect
WOW! They really have virtually everything in this place. Theres everything from nuts & bolts to kids toys to all kinds of furniture. Need a knob for a cabinet or need everything to remodel the kitchen, well they have it. Need carpet, tile or wood flooring, its there. Plus a whole lot more!
I love this store. The people are friendly the values are good you can find some really unique items I highly recommend it. And its a bonus that helps a good charity!
One mans trash is another mans treasure as they say I really enjoy shopping at places like here you most generally can find some pretty awesome stuff at a very reasonable price...
Gives the ability to acquire necessary items without adding to landfills or always buying new and expensive upgrades. Sometimes older is better, why change a good bulb if it isnt burnt out, right- if it still works- let the item help another without self serving needs. It is enough for the good hearted to give, you get more that you give if you live with that attitude! This store represents, or at the very least means to be a standard of integrity and giving back- which gets my five stars.
I love going here. They have a lot of great things to choose from. Depending on the project your doing, can almost always find something.
Awarded for the cleanest store. Things are properly arranged and the place is kept neat with a passion. Friendly service. A well equipped conference room is available for public use where local artists meet on Tuesdays and Thursdays.
They are a great place for budget repair and building.
Be sure and watch as they ring you up. My mom got double charged and the lady refused to refund the difference. It’s only a few dollars, but what’s right is right and when you’re buying used stuff that missing parts it’s not right.
They have a wide selection of ever changing home needs from bathroom tiles to front doors and even the kitchen sink! Findings change regularly, so it pays to visit frequently. The staff are super helpful and pleasant. Whether you need it or just want it...you may not realize you can afford it, until you go to the restore!
Really seems like a conflict of interest to review since.i am there so much, but I do love the place. Highly recommended if you like a surprise bargain since inventory varies by the minute at times with no idea whats been donated.
I love the re-use value and the staff is as kind as can be. Now and then you can get a really great find for a decent price. Normally though the prices are not cheap unless youre talking about items you need a ton of (like nails are a great price). Most of the appliances, furniture, cabinets, doors etc you can find at a new retailer new for about the same price.
I like to shop here but some things is priced to high .& i understand they are raising money but some of us that try to shop there cant aford it .& i think some of the things could be cheaper. Or they should let you make a reasonable price if the price is to much .after all everything was donated .
The STAFF are incredibly LOW IQ INDIVIDUALS and are EXTREMELY RUDE!! Too bad for the people who are supposed to benefit from sales at this location. Avoid this disaster area at all costs.
They sale some one of kind items to enough of some things to supply a house full of needed items. Inventory varies daily. So if you see it buy it chances are it will be gone tomorrow. New items can be sold at a fraction of wholesale price
A nice thrift store for hardware, appliances, furniture, building materials and more. Most prices are reasonable, some prices are high, but all proceeds go to a good cause. Shopping at ReStore is always fun.
This business is a Charleston hidden treasure for the home remodel on a tight budget! This is a frequent stop for me, as their inventory is constantly changing. Stop here before you go to Lowes or Home Depot!!!
Staff are pleasant, but the prices should be examined closely. Ive been here a few times in the past 2 years, and Ive seen used cabinets priced HIGHER than the same exact cabinet at Home Depot. I was there a couple days ago and saw some old moving blankets that had been seriously abused (like a lot of their furniture), and they were priced at $5 each. I can buy BRAND NEW moving blankets at Harbor Frieght for $5.99, so why pay $5 for some kinky stuff with holes and stains??? Most of the light fixtures dont have ferules with them, and you can usually buy entire fixtures online for about the same price. Not sure who prices stuff here, but they need to be relocated. They have about 100+ filing cabinets that are overpriced and well used, taking up valuable floor space - - drop the price to 5 or 10 bucks and move em off the floor to create room for more/different/better merchandise. The stuffs not yours, its donated for charitable reasons. Sell it and turn the stock around quicker. Place is looking like a low rent hoarders warehouse.
I love this place! Ive found some great deals on used furniture here. Lots of other stuff, too.
I feel the prices are a little steep considering most things are used and they r donated but you can still find a good deal hear and there
Pleasant experience
I have rarely found anything that I can use there and when I do it is very overpriced. You can buy insulation for less at Lowes. The lady, I guess shes in charge by the name Sherry, shes very unfriendly, not helpful and doesnt care if she makes a sale or not. A lot of the items especially the furniture secton just needs thrown away.
Sometimes if ur lucky u can find what u may be looking for, but they do have a lot of stuff. Its a nice place.
From tiles to sinks to doors. Even if you dont intend on buying, you more than likely will leave with something. Great people who work there!!
Great place of you need construction, home repair, or.project materials. Lots of random odds and ends - furniture, wood, plumbing, used appliances, electrical, you nane it. Goof place to find inspiration for random projects.
Always a neat place to visit for cheap furniture household items and just general ephemera.
Great place to find that missing chair for your kitchen table or light fixture that might have broke. Plenty of stuff donated daily! So random!
Ive work in a department store, run cash register put out stock, answer call, give good customer assistance, did paperwork for clearance sale, did inventory on all store stock enjoyed it,
Absolutely love going to Habitat For Humanity (aka the ReStore) & have been an avid customer for over 8 yrs now. Furnished 90% of my bathroom remodel with fixtures from the ReStore. Also lots of lighting & furniture options & great finds for recycling into yard art, etc.
Rude..
Only gets a 3 because the employees are rarely on the same page with the prices and many times they are very rude/disrespectful as if you owe them something. The prices are ok and even, low on like hardware, books, the little things, but the larger items are often overpriced for the quality. So its somewhat give and take with regard to that. I personally will not return after how I was treated by one employee. Its a shame how one bad apple can spoil the whole bushel.
I love this place they have an enormous selection and very friendly staff
Used, but in good shape. For a good cause too
I always find a good bargain there. Great pricing and so many things to look at. Home improvement, paint, tools, furniture, cabinets, chairs, doors, cds, windows, toilets, dishes, sinks, blinds, caulk, plumbing supplies, lighting, stoves, and more.
Great place and great work. Helping the ones in need with nice things
Nice place full of surprises. Reasonable pricing too
Great place to find things used. Prices not as good as they use to be though. Still love the place though.
THEY FILL THE GAP BETWEEN THE GOODWILL AND THE LANDFILL.BUT HEY, YOU NEVER KNOW WHAT YOU MIGHT FIND.
Very rude staff, I am disabled and could not find the items I needed for my project to help our cats. I asked for help and was told by Sherry she did not have time to help me because it was a 30 min before close. Apparently, closing was more important because they did not but give one warning a few minutes before shutting off the lights. If someone would have helped me instead of worrying about closing I would have been long gone before closing time. I am blind as it is but yet your going to force me out of the store with the lights off? Making me walk dangerous through isles to get to the front? Then at checkout the price of my item doubled because it did not have a sticker. I inquired about them double checking as I thought most of the similar items were the same price but I guess they can make up a prices at the register. They would not even take a minute to look but they were too busy trying to close and talk to one another.
Best place to buy second hand stuff & they give back to the community. I know first hand.
Love what they stand for and this one has a wide range of options for used parts and furniture.
Low stock. Hardly anything to look at.
Do Not Go Here!!! They threw me out because I had to get the things I bought without any help. I bought a Huge Computer Desk and they said they would put in in the Sold Corrall but they lied. It never left the floor and they refused to help me, saying I would have to wait awhile. It was 9Am, how would I have to wait til about 10 is ridiculous. I paid just as well as other people and Im required to bring my own help. So I grabbed a cart and I moved their furniture out of the way and I guess they got mad about that, and said Im not aloud to use the front door. I bought it, I got a receipt for it and you lied by saying it would be in the Sold Corrall and lied that I would have help so why cant I hurt my back and take it out the front door. I then told people to not shop there because they lie and wont give you help. They then called the cops on me because I was too loud for their store and for trying to steer people away. I loaded a 300lb desk into the back of my truck with no help, I think I had the right to be mad. I even thanked them for the help. Thats when they appeared to come at me like they were gonna remove me from the store. I wish they would have put their hands on me but they didnt. They told me Im not aloud to come back but why would I even want to when they treated me so unfairly. I will not let my family come here. If I hear of a family member coming there I will intervein and not allow them to go on!!!!
I like this place every now and again he find something really interesting.
If you get here at the right time, you can find some really great treasures for cheap.
Never disappointed, great place to shop with friendly helpful staff
The prices are low, they have a lot of items that can be useful to help finish a project, and its convenient to the public.
Love they have items that can be reused or repurposed. Great prices.
Lots of items that spark the imagination. Good for build and remodeling.
I always find something I want to take home for a project
Very friendly staff reasonable prices for most items
Very good place to purchase used items from flooring to furniture! Also if you donate its a tax write off!!
Love the place never know what youll find there
Love this place!
Friendly people lots of odds and insCouchs desks sinks lights paint
A good place for this or that you may need.
Good prices
When you are looking for something that you cant find anywhere they may have it but its going to be highly overpriced. For something that was donated to them they sell for a ridiculous amount of money
Any good deals on building materials, desks and assorted furniture
Lots of junk but there are the rare good finds.
They have a large variety and a helpful staff.
Good place to pic up odds ends.
It was ok. The first time I had been there. Was surprised as to what all they sold..
I was terribly disappointed in Restore today. The paint was not brand labeled. While the idea of recycling paint is great I dont want Walmart paint mixed with Behr paint.Aside from three pieces of wood furniture the rest of it is pressboard -print topped garbage with insane pricing.A used Lowes type sink cabinet for 221.00? I dont know what the pricing people are doing here.In the electrical department a massive chandelier is 200 dollars and well worth it yet a small electrical fixture that should be 10-12 dollars is 65.00The store was clean, well organised and well lighted. I wont be back.
Nothing the same from day to day. You can buy new leftover material for pennies on the dollarAll employees are 4xtremely helpfil
