I had a great experience at LensCrafters Citadel Mall yesterday. I had my exam done elsewhere so I can not speak to the service the Dr there provides but Candace was the sweet representative that helped me pick frames and order my glasses. She was extremely patient and helpful. She explained everything, answered all my questions and provided different quotes based on what my insurance covered. Very happy with the service. Definitely recommend!

Fantastic staff. Friendly and knowledgeable. Jacob was very attentive and helped me understand the cost and the products. I need to wear glasses daily & as someone who doesn’t like to, Jacob really listened to what I was needing and requesting to help make a daily occurrence comfortable for me! I have patronized here with my husband, but not until yesterday for myself. My experience at the store in West Ashley at Citadel Mall was quite pleasant and very helpful. I could not decide between the two pairs of gold frame glasses that I was looking at that I knew I needed to get, but my heart just wasnt set on. Thankfully, the associate Candice was there to the rescue 👍🏽😁. She helped me to pick out a gold frame by Burberry that I never would have came across if she hadnt mentioned it and I literally fell in love with the pair. Ive been a customer of Lenscrafters for years and will certainly continue to be a customer after my awesome experience I had today, all thanks to Candice and the team at this Lenscrafters location here in Charleston, SC!!!!

I got into a car accident that broke my glasses and Randy made getting a new pair so easy and fast! Him and the super nice lady also helped me out with an in store discount because I bought 2 pairs. They also informed me about the protection plan, so if anything happens to my glasses in the further I get a new pair for $25. I highly recommend

I could not have had a better experience! First, I was seen 5 minutes before my scheduled appt, so I had less than zero wait. The young lady, whose name Im sad I cant recall, who did the preliminary tech stuff was exceptional. So kind and courteous and great at her job. Such a happy and positive attitude/energy about her. The doc was excellent as well. THEN...big props to Susan, who helped me pick out my frames. I am not sure Ive ever met anyone who loves their job as much as Susan does. She was beyond helpful, thorough and appropriately energetic about helping me find the best frames. My whole experience was an off the charts A+++

My appointment was so so. I felt like they were in a rush to get me out the door, even though I was the only one there. I had scheduled an appointment for contacts and left with only a glasses prescription (I havent worn glasses in years). I was told I get a call in a few days about the contacts. Waited over a week with no call so I called them. Come to find out its going to take a month to get new contacts. (Not sure why. Every doctor I have been to has been able to get them to me in less than a week) I asked them why havent I received a prescription so I can order some since I need an updated prescription. I was told theyd call me back and that was 5 hours ago.Edit: called for a second time and they have a trail pair for me. The communication and organization is horrible and I will not return. If their appointment didnt count as my yearly visit Id get a second opinion. I definitely will not be returning.

My experience at LensCrafters at Citadel Mall was top-notch from the time I walked in until I left. I was greeted by a young lady who asked can she help me and she proceeded to give me a tray to put the eyeglasses that I tried on because of Covid so that once I was finish the one I tried on could be sanitized. Then Susan another associate came and asked if I found something that I liked and I did. She went through the process of checking my insurance and telling all the options and making recommendations and letting me know how each worked. I made my choices and she proceeded to measuring the glasses on my face with an equipment that was more superior than anything I have ever seen at any fittings. Thank you for going above and beyond to help your customers and still staying safe during this time of Covid. I highly recommend this LensCrafter location if you are looking to get your first or replacement set of eyeglasses.

Went for a contact lens fitting. Just had my eye exam with the same doctor not even a month ago. My insurance copay for a “contacts fit and follow up is $40. They wanted anywhere from $49-$70 extra out of pocket for the “fitting”…..even though my insurance clearly says it’s a $40 copay. The girl couldn’t even explain the extra charges to me, she just said “those are for something else not the exam”. I don’t even know what that means. Go elsewhere, they clearly rip patients off.

(I unfortunately don’t remember my associates name but...) I asked about 1,000 questions to this poor woman, but EVERY single answer no matter the question was met with enthusiasm, understanding, and was pleasant to say the least. My associate was great with helping me pick out the styles, adjusting them, picking the lense types.. and much more. I have never had such a thorough experience while getting glasses like I did today. I felt everyone in there wanted to be there, my associate even stayed after hours just to finish the process and was so patient the whole time, she was still answering questions without rushing me at all. My appointment was at 5:40 and they close at 7, so shout out to my associate in the Citadel Mall! Glasses are an investment to improve the world of people who need them, and I would 10/10 suggest LensCrafters to anyone! Thank you all!

I wish you could give zero stars. This place is so unprofessional. I had an appointment for 3, they called 2 hours before and asked to move it back, I said I could move it one hour but that’s it. I get there and they have a full waiting room and when I asked if there would be a long wait she says well the doctor isn’t here right now and there are 4 people in front of you so it might be. And then had the nerve to ask if I am on a time constraint. Yes everyone is busy Lens Crafters, we don’t have time to sit around waiting for a doctor to show up to work. You shouldn’t schedule an appointment for someone at a time when there isn’t even a doctor available. I absolutely will not be re scheduling.

My Dad is in assisted living and his home is locked down because of Covid. He broke the frames of his glasses. The representative was very nice on the phone, but when I arrived another attendant just fed me some BS about they couldnt put his lenses on new frames because of OSHA laws. He didnt even take them back to the lab to see if it could be done. I Do not recommend.

Horrific sales people and the guy assistant manager...RUDE. Ripped me off, left, came back and saved 300 dollars! He is so horrible, trying to make people feel bad because they dont want top of the line. Saw him with a couple and a baby, felt bad for them. He refused to work the basics in his glasses.

The cost of products and lens are very pricy. I bought a pair of prescription glasses and sunshades at a cost of approximately $800.00 with insurance, this DOES NOT INCLUDE FRAME FOR SUNSHADES . I had already purchased a frame for my sunshades prior to my visit. I thought the price was RIDICOUSLY HIGH even with insurance. Susan, Eyeglass Technician, LENSCRAFTERS - CITADEL MALL - CHARLESTON, SC, was excellent. She did her best to get me the lowest price; however, because of the pricy products she did the best that she could. She was very professional. You need to re-evaluate your prices. I have been a customer of LENSCRAFTERS for at least 25 years plus. I like Lenscrafters, but the price for products are astronomical even with INSURANCE, 50% OFF LENS, AND 40% OFF THE ENTIRE COST.

I visited the optical shop and was served by Susan. She went above and beyond to explain all of the particulars of all of the merchandise, and she even took pictures to help me make selections. She was very thorough in going through the fitting process and also fully explained all of the options. Edit added to respond to owner, I have contacted corporate and did a report. I would also like to add that I was able to go to a competitor and use my care credit there with no issues, your staff told me it was a global issue, not true. I also had your competitor check my pd that your doctor did for me. The measurement your doctor gave me was wrong. I paid 20 extra for a bad measurement.A waste of time. I showed up on time for my appt and after waiting 1 hr was told no doctor today. Please reschedule. Ok, things happen...... I made a appt for the next day. Saw the doctor. I wanted to get my pd measurement. Sure. Charged me $20 extra for that. I wanted to use my Care credit card and was told 3 times that they accept this form of payment. When I was checking out was told nope we dont accept that, but the optical shop does. Ok. Went into the optical showroom verified that they take that form of payment. Was told yes. Spent the time to pick a pair, did the round and round trying to get the price. 2 different sales people, 2 different prices. Went to check out, nope cant use that card as the store was having computer issues. Leave my info and they will call me next day. When 3 pm the next day rolled around and still no call I called them. After several calls back and forth they still couldnt process my order. 3 Days later......it shouldnt be this hard to spend money. Dont waste your time go elsewhere...

Sale lady Jane, I feel may have talked me into stuff I didnt need then I couldnt afford what I really wanted, but overall a pleasant experience Jane is very nice but I believe very smooth too. In the end which the end result is the most important, they are taking care of me very well. I do really love the glasses theres just one more tweak and everything should be perfect. I will come back because they really are after customers being happy.

This LensCrafters location inside the Citadel Mall in West Ashley is a great resource for eyecare and eyeglass needs. The staff here is very knowledgeable and helpful in making sure that their customers have everything that they need to find the best lenses and frames to be able to see better. I had an appointment because my contact prescription was giving me a headache. I wasnt told to wear the contacts in. After waiting 40 minutes the doctor sent out a pair of contacts for me to go home with but didnt see me. When I said I had concerns and questions I was brought back to speak to the doctor who was so rude and disrespectful. I am an MD myself and after our 3 minute appointment I had to tell her how unprofessional her behavior was. I will make a point to never interact with her again.

I was surprised how awesome my appointment went after reading some of the earlier reviews. I had a great experience, the staff was attentive and helpful, the service was quick and I was out the door with in an hour with new contacts and glasses on order (I require special lenses that stores dont always stock, which I was aware of prior to my visit). A few things that you may find helpful on your next visit. The store has 2 sides. If you need help with you glasses, visit the store side. For eye and contact help, go to the doctor side and the receptionist will help you. She also performs the first part of the eye physical so if she is not at her desk she is most likely with a patient, stay calm, this part only takes about 5 minutes. If you can make an appointment, like all doctors office, it will ensure less wait. If you do have to wait, try on some frames so you know what you like after your appointment. Thats usually the longest part, finding the right frames for your face! All stores and offices have high volume days or hours and cant always hold your hand, but that wasnt the case this Friday. Extremely pleased & excited about my new glasses! They were also very good about helping me with my new insurance, thank you!

FANTASTIC experience with MAGGIE @ this store in Citadel Mall. She was super helpful - gave me great suggestions about which frames looked best on me while being suitable for my prescription. I had a good experience in November 2013. There was some price question, but they honored the original price I was told. My prescription came in wrong from the doctor, and they had to make new lenses, which thy did. I found them all very caring and nice.

HORRIBLE experience. It wasnt a busy day and it still took more than 30 minutes to be attended to because the staffs personal phone conversations are apparently more important than the customers at the place where they are employed and being given a paycheck. When I finally got to sit down with an associate she was pretty rude and I found myself repeating a lot of what I said because she disregarded it the first time around. The only redeeming qualities of this experience were that my glasses only took an hour to prepare and the sales associate who fitted my glasses was very nice. My advice is if youre in market for getting glasses or sunglasses, go to the store in North Charleston or some other company.

I was attempting to buy contact lenses on the phone, and had a horrible experience with the customer service. I calmly expressed my concerns that Id been attempting to buy contacts all day to Jane (she had put me on hold for 20 minutes before, and I hung up and called back), and she acted completely unprofessional. Jane was rude and aggressive. She went on and on about how she was busy and with a customer (I think she forgot that I, too, am a customer). I was about to give her my phone number and name to call back, and she hung up on me. After I receive my box of contacts from LensCrafters, I am done with this location.

Hands down, we couldnt have asked for a more helpful and friendly associate, Mary. My husband lost his glasses in a wave at the beach while on vacation. After securing his prescription from our local optometrist, we contacted a couple optometrists with rude results. Keep in mind we are about an hour from an optometrist. I called Lenscrafters at The Citadel Mall and Mary totally understood our dilemma. I feel she went the full mile assisting us when more expensive places scoffed. His glasses were done in an hour and she applied as many discounts as she could.

The only reason that I got glasses from here is because I needed them quickly. They are out of network for insurance company so I ended up paying almost $400.00 and that is with a 50% discount on the lenses!!! The prices are outrageous. What really bothered me though was when I came back to pick up the glasses. A different gentleman gave me my glasses and explained the warranty to me. Come to find out, the original sales associate charged me for an extended warranty without telling me. Sure enough, I pulled out the receipt and he charged me for it. I think that is really dishonest. It was never even mentioned in our sales conversation.

The most horrible customer service ever. Not only was I not acknowledged for the 20+ minutes standing in the store waiting for service, (which I normally would not do but had a wedding to attend that evening and was having issues with my contacts), I was sent next door to stand and wait without being acknowledged for another 30 minutes. A young lady walked over, while helping a different customer, asked if I was being helped, to which I replied no. Then and only then was i told that the doc (who happened to walk past me 10 minutes prior without saying a word!) and whomever was out to lunch but would be back at 2 (30 minutes later). I was not told this before being sent next door why? It takes quite a bit for me to become upset, I have a lot of patience, needless to say after wasting an hour of my time being ignored I walked away praying that I would not take my frustrations out on any innocent bystander! I will from here on out stick with Walmart!!!

SAME EXACT EXPERIENCE WITH ME!! MY EXPERIENCE IS SAME AS MELISSAS!! I walked in to the doctors side of the store, asked to purchase a 6 month pair of contacts (whom I already have a prescription with!) & the doctor told me they are out of stock. I decide I will check else where...then I realized after leaving, I could get a trial pair immediately if I purchased a pair...so I decided, before going to Walmart Ill call them back & make sure that I CAN get a trial pair today (desperate need for contacts today- all out & my eyeglasses are no longer my current vision prescription) so I call and check. I speak w/ HEATHER & she informs me that I could in fact get a trial pair today while I wait for the 6 month boxes to come in. So I ask her to please check & see if a trial pair was in stock in my prescription. She checked & confirmed that a pair was available. I asked her to please hold it & leave it at the desk, that I just had left there & was only down the street & I would be there in a few minutes. HEATHER said OKAY. 15 MINUTES LATER, I show up. I wait 10 MINS & NO ONE was in sight!! However, there was employees on the other side helping customers. No one acknowledged us. Finally, JENNIFER (another employee) walks in from the mall with her bag of lunch & tells us EVERYONE IS AT LUNCH!! THERE WAS ABSOLUTELY NO AT LUNCH SIGN, NOR DID HEATHER EVER INFORM ME THAT THEY WERE GETTING READY TO GO TO LUNCH!!! (JUST 15 MINS BEFORE HAND!!) We told JENNIFER we had already spoken with HEATHER & she had them at the desk. JENNIFER told us we had to WAIT FOR THE DOCTOR TO RETURN, THEN SHE SAID WE HAD TO WAIT for HEATHER (Who was with a customer). JENNIFER GAVE US MORE OF AN ATTITUDE, & TOLD US WE COULD SEAT OURSELVES AT LEAST 5 TIMES (No JOKE) & then EVEN PULLED OUT A SEAT FOR ME ! I then told her, I had been sitting for the last five hours and wanted to stand. At this point, with her ATTITUDE and NO HELP (after I JUST got OFF THE PHONE with HEATHER), I just wanted to get my prescription and leave. I asked JENNIFER if there was ANY WAY I could get a discount since Im obviously going through issues with them, and she says we have to speak with the GENERAL MANAGER MARY BROWN (who was also with a customer). JENNIFER walks off into the back office to eat her lunch. Customers start lining up right behind us, one after another. We patiently wait a TOTAL of 40 MINUTES TO BE EVEN ACKNOWLEDGED!!! We waited on HEATHER, and BROWN to finish with their customers, MAKE EYE CONTACT with us SEVERAL TIMES and preceded to HELP EVERYONE IN LINE AFTER US!!! THEY ALL PURPOSELY SKIPPED US!! Im like Melissa, I have ALOT of PATIENCE, but THEY ALL LEFT ME WITH NONE!!!! 40 MINUTES LATER, AFTER WE WERE THE LAST ONES IN THERE, BROWN then helped us, being NICE RUDE!! I ASKED for MY COMPLETE FOLDER, (at this point, I dont even want them with MY RECORDS!!) She tells me she cant help me. I have to wait for the doctor. (However when I asked for my prescription, she went straight to my folder and made a copy). I have the entire video of my experience, I decided to record the WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE I HAVE EVER EXPERIENCED!! This is Ariel again, with the last comment. I wanted to give an update! I left citadel mall LENSCRAFTERS and went straight to North Charleston Tanger Outlet Wal-Mart. Walked in, was IMMEDIATELY ACKNOWLEDGED, and HELPED RIGHT AWAY! They HAD MY CONTACT LENSES IN STOCK- NO HAVING to wait like LENSCRAFTERS! I didnt have to wait to be acknowledged, I didnt have to wait in any line, I didnt have to wait for help, and I didnt have to wait for my lenses to come in!!!! I have my 6 month boxes in hand!! ALL the EMPLOYEES at WALMART ARE SUPER NICE & VERY HELPFUL!!! & FOR THE SAME EXACT PRICE!!! I drove an extra 15 mins to Walmart, and was way more PLEASED than LENSCRAFTERS! Id drive a little extra ANY day, to receive the BEST CUSTOMER SERVICE!!!!!!!!!!FIVE STAR EXPERIENCE @ WALMART!!!!!!Believe me, youll be a lot happier leaving Walmart then LENSCRAFTERS!!!LENSCRAFTERS needs to go OUT OF BUSINESS ASAP!!! Im not sure if there is any other eye care specialists that have a simalar progam but i had to get new glasses through a free coupon that my school offered. Its great that the company as a whole allows for this because it really helps those who cant afford them. however, while at this location the service was horrible. I simply hugged my girlfriend for no longer than three seconds, and later while my mother was asking the the women i was seeing if she was ok she brought up how it was a professional work place and she did not allow for that kind of scene. The entire visit my mother and I showed graditude to the faculty, and they seem it was a burden to be treating a patient for free. They are not fouling anyone though, because i know they still get the money from the head office and they as an individual are doing me no kindness. I strongly suggest you seek other companys or if anything try the location at the North Woods Mall.

My husband purchased glasses from them and from the beginning the lens kept falling out of the frame. We took them back numerous times to have them fixed. So today we took them back again and they told us the lens is to small for the frame and, they are no out of warranty. Ate you kidding me we have been there every other week complaining about this and now that they are out of warranty. Needless to say we wont be back.

I went for my eye appointment today the receptionist was extremely nice. I was given an electronic tablet and asked to put in a lot of info and pictures. I told the young lady I was not going to put in my social security number, she said that was ok. The info requested was all info they already had as I had been going there for five years. I told her I was not going to finish putting in the info as they already had it. The OD came out just then ( Bradley Power) looked at me and said “Bye” I asked if he was speaking to me he said “have a good day”. I was taken a back, to say the least. The receptionist said she would finish putting in the info. I told her I would never let that rude dismissive man check my eyes. I went across the street and made an appointment at Pearl vision. Such disrespect. I will never go to a Lens Crafter again.
