We recently were in Charleston and came across this shoppe. They have every sweet treat imaginable and just happened to arrive just as a nice, fresh and hot kettle of pralines were being turned out. They are truly amazing. We even got sweet treats for our dogs.. Staff extremely friendly and helpful. Reasonable prices. A definite must during your stay in Charleston.

We absolutely love stopping in here when we are in town. My favorite snack to get is the Turtles, and truffles. It was even more special this time because my puppy got a treat this time. That have white chocolate dipped milk bones. He was so excited to get a treat he was drooling looking at all the treats through the glass.

There are lots of sweet shops on Market Street. This place was awesome! Amazing fudge and chocolate treats as well as a huge array of hard candies and gummies. If thats not enough for your sweet tooth, there is ice cream! My bestie and I went to Charleston for a girls trip. We stopped in to Market Street Sweets and Krissy was running the whole show. She was making fresh pralines in the front. She then stopped to give us ice cream samples, scooped our cones and rang us out with a smile and made our experience truly something sweet! Definitely worth your time to stop and satisfy your sweet tooth!

The place is very popular. Some of the flavors of ice creams were out. The young man was very helpful, patient, and funny. Neat spot. We had yummy ice cream and purchased candies for later.

Market Street Sweets on North Market Street in Charleston is a great place to get all things desserts and sweets. This is a happy and joyful place to visit and get all of the really good smells that come from inside. I like that they always seem to have samples available to try before you make a purchase. The staff here is very friendly, outgoing, and accommodating from the moment you enter until after you leave. It is always a pleasant experience here and I always feel happy after being here.

OMG. The chocolate, the fudge and the gelato. Why would you not go there!!! I had a sample of the peanut fudge when I entered. The rest just got better

Love this store! All types of candy by the pound or in regular packaging. Lots of nostalgic throwback items available from previous decades. A speciality type store that carries retro themed items, trendy and one of a kind. Also had large assortment of Blind Box Character Collectibles at decent price. My son and I stop in everytime we visit Downtown Charleston. Definitely a fun place to satisfy a sweet tooth!

9/1/2018I always stop here at Market Street sweets for my favorite candy! Pecan pralines!!! These are absolutely delicious and addictive! I have been visiting Charleston for many years and I always stop here to satisfy my sweet tooth! You will definitely enjoy the famous pralines. They have regular and chocolate but I prefer the regular ones. I highly recommend a stop here at the Market Street Sweets!!There are several candy stores in the area but this is my go to place! I hope you enjoy these as much as I do.

Small selection of bulk candy. More of a chocolate/fudge/ brittle/ pralines store. Good quality of the candy they make. The bulk candy price is not great.

Staff here is so friendly and welcoming. The store is so nice too. And the sweets... They are the best thing on earth. Whenever I visit Charleston I have to stop by this store and buy pounds of pralines, chocolate pralines, truffles, bear claws... They are impossible to stop eating. They will give you discounts if you buy multiple products so dont be shy! I suggest you try the sea salt dark chocolate bear claws. They are fantastic.They also do free shipping everywhere in the States and free shipping overseas to US military bases. Aint that sweet??

Caramel apples and pralines are to die for. Customer experience is excellent as well. Garrett helped my cousin and I this evening and was overly accommodating. Not enough places like this left in todays age.

We stoped here while on a food tour of the city. The sweets we got to sample were amazing.

Wonderful gelato. We got a sample of something delicious but decided on the gelatos instead. So delicious. Will definitely return during our stay in Charleston. I did notice ear in the day as we walked by that they can get busy but definitely worth the line. Lots of choices on candys, candy apples and packaged sweets.

The chocolate truffles are just ok, especially if you compare it with European chocolates. They are cheaper though. But the pralines are awesome!

I purchased their one of each Praline Pecans, Milk Chocolate Bear Claw and Praline. It was very good. Almost ordered items online, but since I live locally, I elected to stop in. Store is the same as remembered, clean and employee was very friendly. Due to COVID, I didnt have any issues finding parking, which is normally not the case. Normally I will illegally park to shop at this store.

All old fashioned candies to choose from. Store layout good to see it all. Fun place to visit.

Stopped in here and grabbed a few things for my kids before heading home and while its not the biggest candy store there, they had a good selection of things. From candy apples to pralines, they had it. I would definitely return when I go back.

Smells like heaven, staff are great, and the pralines are amazing! It is pricey of course but willing to pay that every now and then for a delicious treat! (The milk chocolate covered praline is my fave.)

River Street Sweets is the best chocolate in the United States without a doubt! Their dark chocolate is to kill for!! It reminds me of my favorite Belarusian chocolate. And their dark chocolate raspberry truffles.... ohhh don’t even get me started on those. Come here for the chocolate AND the customer service. Dang! The staff at Market Street Sweets sure are sweet! They are sure to make you smile and probably make your day! They make mine when I stop by! Can’t say thank you enough for providing the best chocolate in one of my favorite cities :)

The guy in here is so nice and friendly. This place has so many sweets and such large sizes I had trouble deciding what to purchase I wanted everything in the store. The prices are decent considering its more of a novelty candy store I cant wait to return on my next vacation

I have been to several candy stores that specialize in different things, these guys specialize in homemade pralines and do a great job. I liked the dark chocolate turtle, wife liked the praline and caramel. Bought a box to send to friends as well. Will be back!!

Sharlotte was the best sales person ever! She was friendly and greeted us with a warm smile on a very rainy day. She explained the offers and specials to us and made us feel welcome. We dont typically write reviews, but she was exceptional. The pralines here are the best. Worth every penny!

Amazing variety of desserts created with pecans and other nuts and chocolate. The free samples given outside of the store will not let you miss the their signature pralines. Do not resist, the trip to Charleston is not complete without them!

Monday, May 29th around 6 pm, I walked into my favorite praline store with my visiting niece and nephew; as I do with all my visitors; to purchase come pralines to go. We were just in time to see the young lady who was cooking the pralines and inviting people to sample, reach down with gloved hand and put a piece in the mouth of a dog! Now, I like dogs, but I do not eat behind them. I immediately turned and told my guest that I will find another favorite place before they return.Has this been a common thing???

Expensive pralines but the best in Charleston for our family. We went twice during this trip because we love them so. Unfortunately on our second trip we saw the manager special was peanut brittle for 5.95 with purchase however we believe we got charged the regular price. We cant say for sure because we only got our credit card receipt which didnt show the itemized prices but those were some even more expensive pralines if we did. So my error is your warning. Make sure they give you the correct price and get an itemized receipt.

This shop was staffed by a crew of very friendly folks who made me feel very welcome from the moment I stepped in.At the front of the shop, two ladies were making fresh praline candies, sort of like peanut brittle, but with pecans. They invited everyone who can in to try some freshly made still-warm samples. I dont eat nuts, but my husband tells me It was delicious!I ended up buying a large package of candied pecan, which were actually made in a different facility in Savannah, Georgia. Although this shop had a wide variety of temping candies and fudges made in house, I was hoping to get pecans, so I ended up with that purchase.Although the bag was a little on the expensive side, hubby greatly enjoyed them and did not regret my choice of purchase. As an extra treat, the cashier threw in one of their freshly made praline candies for free, which was a nice touch.If you are craving something sweet on your trip to the City Market, I would definitely give this place a try!

This is an awesome place! The only thing is my grandmother had to sit outside in the hot sun because she is handicap and was on a scooter. There is no ramp! Not fair to her but good sweets!

AMAZING! I am a brunch snob. This place deserves 5 stars! Get the carafe of mimosas. Elis Beignets were delicious. My friend and I split the fried oyster benedict and the crab cake one. Food was delicious. The service was great, too. Very friendly and helpful.

They had a sign that with each 1lb purchase you get an extra 1/4 lb. I asked how many come in a pound and she said 8-10. I bought 2 lbs and was expecting to get extra as I mentioned the sign and she said she’d give me an extra 1/2 lb. I opened my boxes when I got home and had 6 pralines in each. I paid $50 for 12 pralines. Not only did she not give me extra as promised in the special - she didn’t even give me a full 2 lbs per her estimates. Their scale didn’t face the customer or was blocked so you can’t even see how much you’re paying for. You’ve made this sweets craving pregnant woman VERY unhappy.
