I needed a fathers day gift, a gift for a 1 year old, and a gift for a 27 year old. I found all of that and a cup of coffee at this one stop.5 stars.Bonus, an employee helped me find a specific book very quickly. She was fast and friendly. Dont remember her name but I appreciated her, and hope she wins the lottery one day.

Your basic all around bookstore chain. Staff is nice and they offer that discount membership thing that most bookstore chains have. Absolutely massive manga selection and a bunch of mixed curios. Theyre also taking advantage of the new cookbook craze Ive been seeing all over Amazon. Anyway 8/10 would go again.

Only big books store in the area. Nice selection on board games and tabletop games. My son and I really appreciated the kids section and how it was broken up into different favorite characters (e.g. Lego books, Harry Potter, Marvel books, Dr. Seuss, Pete the Cat). I miss the comfortable chairs for checking out a book before purchasing.

I went in with a list of 5 books that I wanted to pick up. They didnt have a single one. They seem to be stocking less and less in the stores and going more towards an online platform. I miss the days of picking through books for hours and taking home stacks of titles. I guess I will have to order mine online.

Im totally biased on this review because Im a reader. Love to read, love it, love it. If theres a bookstore within 50 miles of home, Ive been in it: if I could earn a living reading books, Id do it.Books A Million has always been a favorite spot for me. The stores are well lighted, nobody minds if you find a chair on the floor and read a while, and they have some unique gifts in the store. My guess is there is something for almost any topic you can name. Its a great place to spend an afternoon.

Im just recently getting back into reading heavily after a few year hiatus from reading anything that wasnt a text book. I had an idea what books I was looking for, and they had those, as well as more that the very friendly staff pointed me towards that I have been loving! There are so many books and such a happy, helpful staff that I would absolutely recommend going here any time you are on the hunt for your next good read!

July 7, 2021 Visit (6:30-7:45)Rating out a 50- For my horrible experience0- Kayla (pink hair) customer service3- Emmie customer service5- Store Organization5-Book selections5- Teachers discountI love going to Books a million. I am an educator & love the discounts. However, I typically go to the location located in the Atlanta area (Gwinnett County Sugarloaf parkway). At first, the visit was going well. After browsing the book store for about 10 minutes, a white young lady with pink hair asked if I needed any help. I told her no I didnt need any help. Within another 5 minutes or so I noticed Kayla (I learned her name later/ the same young lady with the pink hair), started organizing in the area that I was in, but I didnt think anything of it. It only became strange after she repeatedly came near the area I was browsing. I remained calm and continued browsing.I found books, organizers and journals I was really interested in.After a short period of time, Kayla came back organizing again in the same area. I remained in the area because I was looking for an organizer. While in the area near the organizers, I inadvertently left 2 books I was thinking about buying. KAYLA asked if I needed any help AGAIN. At first I said no. She told me not to leave the books there because they would put them back. I explained that I would not leave books there intentionally. She also asked if a cord was mine, but it was not. After a few seconds, I said I actually do have a question. I wanted to if there were anymore organizers similar to the one I was holding. Kayla only pointed to the other journals. This was odd because she seemed so eager to help while I was browsing earlier (she had asked 3 times previously). Moreover, when I finally did ask for help, I didnt receive real help. In my final analysis of the situation that Kayla never wanted to help me to start with. I was expecting Kayla to help me look for similar organizers, but that did not happen.Kayla left the area. About 5 minutes later Emmie ( a slender young lady with lots of cool piercing), asked if I needed any help. At this point, I felt that I was being targeted. As a result, of being asked if I needed any help repeatedly, I responded by saying that black people do read books. I am just a teacher .. can I look around in a book store without being bothered. This doesnt happen at the other location in Atlanta. I can stay as long as I want without ever being followed by random sales people.Emmie stated she was only doing her job. Truth be told Emmie only asked once and was doing her job. I had a better experience with Emmie. When Emmie asked if I needed help, that was my 4th time being asked within less than 15 to 20 minutes time frame.I was asked if I needed help by Kayla with pink hair 3 times. When I did need request help she only pointed to the organizers. Imagine browsing for 15 to 20 mins. & being approached 4 times. That equates to an average of every 5 minutes or less. I feel that I was racially profiled. I wonder how many others have experience this type of treatment at this location. As I was standing at the check out counter with my items, I noticed a North Charleston police officer walk through the store. As Emmie was checking me out she asked if I had a reward. I said I have an educator card. I also asked what was the percentage. She said it was 10%, but educators actually get 20%, She verified that it was20%. She renewed my membership. This is what typically happens. Kayla comes over and says I needed to have my educators ID. Please note: I knew all of my information. Finally, I decided to purchase the majority of items that I had in the cart. Spanish flash cards, and 3 other items. With my discount my total was $60. I was happy with my purchase. In the final analysis of the situation, Emmie provided better customer service. The manager (Young lady with orange hair) did allow me to renew. However, Kayla did try to block my discount or make it difficult.

Books, books, books. I love to read therefore prior to Covid-19 I loved to visit and walk up and down the aisle discovering adventure, fact finding and some pretty cool toys and accessories as well as games. The place has a coffee shop inside where you can sit down with a warm cup of coffee while enjoying a good book. There are chairs throughout for individual reading or research. There is an amazing section just for children. I cant wait to take my grandson when he gets a bit older so that I can introduce him to a world of discovery and adventure that books bring. I am a loyal fan and consumer and look forward to visiting once Covid-19 is cured for all.

The store was clean, organized well with a plethora of books, games and toys. They had some great deals in a 50% off discount bin and still managed to keep that organized. I ended up purchasing a fantasy novel, a paper-back copy of the Drizzt DoUrden series. The book is called Homeland and is the first book in the series. Product placement and variety were well done. This actually led to my making an online purchase later that day. However, I was very unimpressed with their approach to the Coronavirus. Personal choice and responsibility of the customer were very much in disregard. Given that this store was the only location in the mall where mask-wearing was demanded, it served as an overall damper to this mall experience.

It is just another national big chain store. Just centered on books, magazines, and our geek people toys and accessories related to the stories and characters we love. Truthfully I hardly go because Amazon is hands down better. I go if there is something I want to sample more before I buy because I can usually see a 10% or more price difference on Amazon on my phone and just hit the buy now button. It also gives me ideas of other books in the same subject matter I hadnt considered without picking them up and sampling preface, first and last chapters. Also, its nice there a lot of attractive women working there and 1 I just crush on from afar. My last visit I actually purchased two books there and they asked me for a dollar for some charity I never heard of. After a second of realizing how many words she rattled off and seeing the flyer. The charity related to helping the five letter abbreviation I cant remember right now for all the grouping and labeling of so called different people. I said I dont give to any charity without knowing their operating numbers. When you look down and mumble real fast you are either afraid or embarrassed to ask and this printer paper flyer doesnt look like officially backed by the store. It raised some questions for me about a scam unless she thought I was the hateful one, but everyone is so stupid these days you cant trust anyone that looks white and says Freedom is based on the foundation of individual liberty, and as long as we are not negatively impacting another persons liberty then we are free. Thats equality and fairness.

Books-A-Million by far stands Head and Shoulders above the Rest of the clip telling competition with the exception of Amazon because basically they are impossible to compete with. However when it comes to local brick-and-mortar establishments, Books-A-Million is my go-to. Barnes & Noble is decent but Books-A-Million just has that it factor in my opinion, they have cooler books the prices are a little bit better the employees are a little bit more vibrant and excited about selling books. Even the coffee shop thats inside the store sells better coffee, Im not pulling your leg on this one. I have no idea why this is the case and maybe Im way out of line here, this is after all just my personal opinion.
