West marine has always been the place to go when you need that one boating item right now. you had to pay extra for that get it now service, but thats better than waiting a week or so for delivery from somewhere else, especially if out of town cruising on the boat.Since the covid outbreak, everything is tougher and West has seen a hit from it also. Although it is harder to get what you want right this minute at the brick and mortar, the online store has just about anything you could need. But now, since there is a wait for delivery, it pays to shop the other online chandleries for a better price. You may very well end up getting it from West, but at least you can feel better that you shopped around for the best price.

We are grateful to have a few West Marine stores in this area. Between them you can usually find what you’re looking for. I like the big store in West Ashley they have a nice selection of clothing.

I went to West Marine to get my husband some Olukai flipflops. I was struggling and Jamie offered assistance. He was so attentive and helpful! He definately takes pride in his job. My husband loves the shoes he suggested. The cashier was friendly and the entire experience was great! I will be back!

Oh how I love this store! Jan and Ginger are just the best. They have both gone out of their way to help me find the obscure random parts and supplies I’ve searched for. I can’t recommend them enough. Ginger even called her son in law for help on a Johnson motor I was working on for me. Amazing and personal customer service.They even have cute boating clothes so after you get the motor running right and all the lights installed, you look cute on the water too :)

Very pleasant experience while purchasing parts and supplies for a 2 year restoration project with my 11 year old grandson on a 1970 13’ Boston Whaler. Tracy at this store was especially helpful and very knowledgeable about marine parts at this store. Her pleasant personality and patience was above and beyond.

Huge, huge selection of boating and fishing items! I think its laid out well and they sell frozen bait which I found out today. They have clothing too. Casheirs I found are always very friendly. I havent had a bad experience yet.

The guys at this store are boaters and have lots of exp. on the water to help new boaters make good buying decisions based on their needs. I had a Lowrance 5dsi and saw some new features on the next released model that I wanted to have(map overlays and Chirp), since the purchase was within one year, they let me return the unit and gave me full credit towards the next unit.....Cant beat that service.Chad

I went to the store on Rivers Avenue today looking for some trout gear. The gentleman told me hes not a fisherman but could tell me where everything is located in the store. No help at all. That was my first visit there and will be my last.
