Plugs Appliance provided and installed the appliances for our new custom home. Jack Ferguson was our Builder Direct Sales contact person for our project. Upon final inspection, we noticed some small pitting in the base metal and unexplained scratches, which was odd, since the unit was installed straight out of the box, and never used. When I reached out to Jack, and then sent photos of the issue, he immediately submitted my concerns for warranty replacement, which was approved in 1 day. To my surpize, the new unit arrived, and was professionally installed, 4 days later. Super Job!Jack made this entire process painless. Thanks so much, and also thanks to all the fine folks at Plugs West Ashley for taking such good care of us.

I needed a replacement refrigerator quickly due to the failure of a nearly brand new LG fridge purchased from a competitor. After dealing with LGs terrible customer service for 6 weeks still without resolution I decided to take matters into my own hands. Btw, dont ever buy an LG refrigerator, there appear to be common issues with their compressors and theres no one locally that can service R600a units. Stopped by our local Plugs and Jay was helpful in providing me options and working with me on pricing over the course of a couple of days. When I was ready to purchase he scheduled prompt delivery (purchased on a Thursday, was delivered on Monday). Installers were great and the only issue was there was additional damage to the fridge (it was already a scratch and dent item) that wasnt there when i purchased the unit from the showroom floor. I called Jay, sent him pictures of the additional damage and the next day Plugs customer service called me to apologize for the issues and compensated me with a partial refund. While the additional damage was unfortunate, they made sure I was compensated for it and thats what mattered to me. Overall very impressed, they seem to really care about their customers and I will be a Plugs customer in the future!
Friendly staff and great prices on appliances. Everything I wanted was in stock. Its a good feeling to shop at a locally owned store.
We needed to replace our over-the-range microwave, and I was so happy to be able to figure it out with Jack over the phone without even needing to go into the store. He saved me tons of time by sending me links to what was available without a months-long wait (presumably due to COVID) and even helped with a potential installation issue in order to make sure the right installation team came out the first time and was able to install on that visit. Pricing was fair, and we got a great new microwave! Installation was actually earlier than the window I was given the day before, and the installer was friendly and cleaned up after himself. All in all, a great experience, and we will definitely be shopping at Plugs the next time we need a new appliance.

I needed a new downdraft for my Viking cooktop so I called one of the three Viking-approved suppliers — Signature. The woman I spoke with — Natalie — really couldn’t be bothered with me. After several calls and little action, I tried another supplier — Plugs. Night and day difference! Geneva took an interest in my problem, assured me she had a solution, had an installer out to measure, and ordered the downdraft. I can’t recommend Plugs highly enough. A local business dedicated to service!
Always find what I need on sale. Great delivery service. Ask about sale items...they are not always advertised. Selection/inventory was a bit down last time i was there but still found exactly what I needed at great price.
Original: Will not give so much as a courtesy call to let you know when / why your order is delayed by 3 months. At one point two of my pieces were in stock and just waiting on fridge, then I call back a month later and only one is in stock, meaning my salesperson either lied or they sold my ordered part. Then theyre expecting a delivery on such and such dates and well call you if theres any more delay, and the week comes and goes. Its a weird year, so delays are expected but failing to communicate with paid clients when a 6-week lead time turns into 19+ is unacceptable.Post-install update: After finally getting escalated to the general manager, Celia, she was able to find aesthetically-similar, but significant upgrades to the appliances I ordered that were already in stock, *the same afternoon*, at no additional cost to me. I accepted the changes and arranged for a Wednesday afternoon install the following week. When paying off my balance that Monday, I find out the install is instead on Tuesday, and its confirmed at 10:45-1:45pm. Thats the difference between taking a half day off for an afternoon install on Wednesday, and a full day off for a midday install on Tuesday... Nonetheless, the installers arrived about an hour into their window, were knowledgeable about the appliances and installation, and were very efficient. Took about 2 hours to swap out three pieces. They immediately identified that I was going to need an electrician to replace the hardwired dishwasher power with an outlet, and Celia was able to get one by shortly after the installers finished.After nearly 5 months, Celias effort to make things right, and the efficiency and professionalism of the installers took a 1-star experience to a 3. Unfortunately theyre let down by the lack of customer concern in the sales and scheduling staff.
Edit:After I posted my issue (read below) I received a call from Celia who explained their current status with extended warranties. They did purchase a 4 year extended warranty on my behalf. I appreciated that Plugs stepped up to make it right. I wish my issue could have been handled in a timely manner not a year to the day of my purchase. Communication is key to customer service! Thank you Celia!Original post:I am extremely disappointed and will never purchase from Plugs again! I purchased a refrigerator last fall. I wanted an extended warranty and was told by Gene that they were changing their warranty company, but by mid November they would have a new company. Mid November I called about the warranty and Gene told me they still didnt have one. December same thing, January same thing. I called Gene many times and left a couple of (which were never returned)! When I talked to him in August he said he was headed to a trade show and to call him back on 8/24 because he should have a new warranty company after the trip. When I called back late August he stated that they still did not have a warranty co. and to visit the manufacturers website to check out their warranty:( During my purchase he told me that a 5 year warranty would be about $199. The manufacturer wants $540 for the same time frame. I called today and..... they still dont have a warranty company! I dont understand how a legitimate appliance company does not have an extended warranty plan to offer their customers. If I was aware that Gene was going to string me along month after month for a year, I would have bought it from another place that offers a warranty program on the spot! I realize that a lot of people do not purchase extended warranties, but if that is important to you - go elsewhere.

They arrived on time, took their job seriously, were very careful to not damage our wood floors, and spent plenty of time to ensure everything was just right.Couldn’t have gone any better.

The delivery team was excellent as well and they went above and beyond to make sure the installation was thorough and complete.When we needed a new range recently, I emailed Brad and he was again quick to respond and very helpful.We have had a wonderful experience with Plugs and would 100% recommend them for quality products and top notch customer service.

I work in appliances and have met nearly everyone there is to meet in the local trade. The guys at PLUGS are WONDERFUL! They are thoughtful, honest and conscientious. Strong work ethics and principals. Gene and Jack are great! Ive been working with these guys since 2014/2015 and since the recent world wide crisis, things have been really difficult for smaller businesses, but thats not why Im writing this review. I write this because in spite recent events these guys still manage to stay positive, optimistic, professional and honest. Most of all Im just really grateful for everything they do!! The customer service is wonderful. The sales associate Melissa was so very helpful even though I was not ready to purchase. The prices are as good if not better then the big box stores and at Plugs, I felt they were looking for customers for life. So worth stopping in.
Came in with my family in order to get a new cooktop and microwave. Also interested in. We walk over and fridge. The salesperson who came around, Jean, was about as useful as a bump on a log.We asked for a particular brand and instead of helping us he actively dissuaded us by saying we didn’t want the brand or saying things had a lead time to get. We never said we needed it today, woulda been totally fine waiting the couple months (which we currently are).He didn’t try qualifying what we were looking for or telling us about the different brands. He just told us to browse around ... ended up spending the money at a big box retailer.Do your own research.
We researched washer & dryer combos and narrowed them down to a specific set. Unfortunately these units were hard to get. The sales consultant at the West Ashley store, Brad, did an amazing job hunting them down and making some suggestions along the way. The units were bought on a Saturday and installed on the following Wednesday. At installation, one of the units didn’t work well, so they loaded it back on the truck and promptly brought another.Based on the promptness of replies, the value we received and their desire to satisfy the customer...We would highly recommend checking Plugs out.

This may be a little unusual, but Im editing my original review. We had a great sales experience, but it seems after they got their money, it went all downhill.In my original review (below), I mentioned that we were promised a loaner, because the fridge we wanted wouldnt be available until late November. We didnt need this loaner until we closed on our house in October. Mind you, original purchase was made in September 2020. When I called to schedule delivery of the loaner, they were absolutely clueless. They put the original sales person on the phone, who couldnt seem to recall promising us a loaner and was full of excuses. He told me hed figure something out and call me back in five minutes. I ended up spending the rest of the week calling Plugs and leaving messages for him, because he never called me or my wife back. I ended up having to personally go down and visit the store to finally get his attention.He finally arranged to have a loaner delivered.Fast forward to the end of November, I called to find out when the fridge we ordered would be available. There was a lot of initial confusion, because they kept insisting that they had delivered our fridge already, and didnt seem to understand that they were providing us a loaner. Do they not keep record of these things? Had to find the original sales person again, who also insisted that our fridge had been delivered already, until I was able to provide him with the order number on my receipt. Oh, ok. Well, it was during the call that I was told the fridge wouldnt be in until the end of February. No one had tried to contact us to let us know, so if I hadnt called, we would have been stuck wondering what was going on.So, end of February comes. I decide to call and find out if our fridge will be arriving soon, half expecting there to be another delay. Apparently it had been in for a week already. And nobody tried to contact us to have it delivered? What the hell. Give me my fridge.Finally, the fridge was delivered beginning of March. A week later, though, we had issues with the door alarm constantly going off, even though it was securely closed. I was fed up with Plugs at this point, so I just called GE directly. They sent a technician out, who told me the person who installed the fridge connected the cables on the door incorrectly.Good Lord. At this point, I thought I was done. Never again would I have to deal with Plugs or their ineptitude.Fast forward to May, and I pull out the fourth door, where a thin metal bar just pops out and clangs onto the ground. At this point, I thought maybe it was just bad quality control on GEs part. But they always have great customer service, so we called them again and they sent out a technician. They put the thin bar back in and told us that the fourth door tray had been installed the wrong way (by Plugs, of course), which is why the bar fell out. The technician fixed it, thankfully. But that was the straw that broke the camels back. Hence, my updated review.I will never, ever shop at Plugs again. I tell everyone to stay away from them. Should have just bought the darn thing at Best Buy, like we originally planned to.Original Review: We had a quick and easy experience. We had it narrowed down between two fridges before walking into the door, so it was easy for the salesman to help us decide which was better. We werent expecting there to be stock issues and delays in shipping due to covid-19, but we have a flexible timeline which is fortunate. The store is able to accommodate and offered us a loaner if we need it. Great service!
Over the last few years weve purchased a new gas stove and clothes dryer and were pleased with their prices and service.
We were introduced to Plugs by our contractor and now would not consider going anywhere else for appliances. Their people are very knowledgeable. We worked with Melissa for our refrigerator a year ago . She was such a tremendous help. Now we need a new dryer and double oven gas range. And we are working with Melissa again. Without missing a beat she is handling everything. You dont usually think of appliance shopping as a great experience and she has made it that way for us. And when we have to have a new dishwasher we know that we will be headed to Plugs and be in great hands with Melissa.
We recently completed a kitchen renovation and needed new kitchen appliances. We checked several places and were most impressed with Plugs Appliance, particularly Melissa Murdock. She reviewed our new kitchen design, suggested appliances and did research for us to make sure we were getting the best possible options. She answered all questions immediately by phone or email and when she didn’t know the answer, she researched and got back to us quickly. She even came to our home after the appliances were installed to give us a tutorial! Helped us with our rebate and appliance registration, as well. Melissa is one of the best sales representatives we’ve ever worked with and is a terrific asset to Plugs Appliance.

This was a great experience. My wife and I were in looking for a new washer and dryer. I did not like the last experience at one of the big box stores. Besides we were interested in purchasing a Speed Queen Washer/Dryer and they are not available except at an appliance store. My wife had questions about certain features and Brad Whitney was very helpful. She had a question he wasnt 100% sure of the answer, so he called the manufacturer. We were completely satisfied with the purchase process. The washer and dryer were scheduled to be delivered on Wednesday afternoon, but said they would call Tuesday between 3pm-5pm. They called for delivery between 3-5 on Wednesday, the two gentlemen called when they were 30 minutes out, and were at the house around 4:15pm as promised. Both of the delivery guys were very professional, friendly, and knew what they were doing. They made sure both units were functioning as they should.We will be making all of our future appliance (and mattress) purchases at Plugs. Thank you. Rick and Michele Jones

This was my first visit to Plugs Appliance & my only regret at this point is that I had not shopped here earlier. Our 12-year dryer stopped working & it was time to replace. I went first to a big box store & was informed that they have reduced the amount of inventory kept on the floor. I wished to purchase a Whirlpool dryer to match my existing washer & ended up looking online with the salesperson. What a disappointment as I cant imagine spending a substantial amount of money without physically looking at the product & having its features explained. Also, delivery was not for 3 days! So my next stop was at Plugs. I was greeted at the door by salesman Gene Wallace who was extremely knowledgeable and professional. The selection was excellent with multiple models to choose from and the final price competitive. Delivery was the NEXT DAY, exactly at the time promised, and both delivery men careful and efficient. Next time I am going to save myself some time & go to Plugs first for future appliance purchases.
I bought all of my appliances from Melissa at Plug’s Appliance Center in August of 2018 when I bought my house and did a complete renovation. She was so helpful in helping me select just the right products ! Two days ago, my French door refrigerator/ freezer died( a sealed system failure that the repair person was unable to resolve ) . My food was sitting in four coolers in my front hall but I knew that everything would spoil before the issue with my refrig / freezer could be resolved as the weekend was approaching. Melissa arranged for a loaner refrig/freezer for me to use until the other issue is taken care of. The loaner is sitting in my front parlor, which hardly fits in with my southern decor mindset, ( and my apologies to Good Housekeeping) but Melissa literally saved my life, as well as over a thousand dollars worth of food ! Fabulous customer service ! I cannot recommend Plug’s Appliance Center in West Ashley and Melissa highly enough ! Thank you so, so much !! Great company, great employees and exceptional customer service ! By the way, I live in Summerville and Melissa even figured out all of the logistics with this loaner appliance despite the distance ! Forever grateful !

I have purchased my Wolfe stove here about a year ago and my Bosch dishwasher just recently. The prices have been competitive and the staff have been helpful and informative. My experience with Plugs has been great, from dealing with the associates on the floor to the delivery and installation. They have been very professional and pleasant to work with! Its a very relaxed atmosphere at the Plugs in Mt. Pleasant. Eric J. helped me find a washer, while being respectful of my budget. He then arranged for a Saturday delivery so that I didnt have to take time off from work. The delivery men, Eric S and Antwan, were efficient, friendly and professional. I plan to shop here for all future appliances.
Plugs delivered a washing machine to my home today and it was absolutely amazing. They called and gave me a 30-minute heads up or when it would be arriving which is extremely helpful. They brought the machine up to a third story without hitting the walls and being very careful of their surroundings. I strongly recommend them to anybody in the market for appliances!

Being military, my wife and I have owned quite a few homes now and in each one we have completely gutted the kitchen and started from scratch. In doing this, we always try to out-do the last one and we try to support local business as much as possible without breaking the bank. As you can imagine, saving money and shopping small local stores isnt always in-sync. Being new to SC, we found a few appliance stores that sold Wolf appliances (including a national chain that specializes in high end products) and ended up going with Plugs. Not only was their price the most competitive, but Brad went the extra mile by staying late to get me a quote after my at-the-buzzer email request. I am currently waiting on install and will update accordingly if my experience with, and ethusiam for Plugs changes.

I stopped by Plugs to look at Bosch dishwashers after going to the big box stores nearby. If youre looking for a local shopping experience this is a good place to look. The salesmen made me WANT to buy an appliance from them. I found that baseline pricing is relatively constant regardless of where you buy. The difference is who is running a special on the appliance you want and who has free installation at the time. That said, be sure to ask for the final price including any delivery and installation charges. I rated Plugs 4 stars based on the limited promotion availability compared to what I found elsewhere. I also did not care for the argumentative nature of the conversation when I discussed promotions at other retailers.
I wrote a bad review 2 days ago, cause we had an issue with a delivery date that was not up held. But since an hour ago we received a call from the store owner and got an apology from him. As well as a credit equal to a 5 year extra warranty on the appliances we bought. So i am changing my review from a one star to a 5 star. I am pleasantly surprised that i recieved a call back as well as a credit. Thank you for this kind of service. I can now recommend this company whole heartedly.
Wrote review yesterday that was one star because of botched delivery execution, but went back to store and they rescheduled for next day. Then today they called and apologized and offered a partial refund. I was very pleased that they followed up, took responsibility, and made things right. Quality and integrity.

We did a facelift on our 30 plus year old kitchen. We went to several appliance stores in the Charleston area and decided to work with Plugs. We got wonderful information and suggestions. He spent most of a morning going over all the different options. We purchased a built-in oven, microwave, warming drawer (part of a promotion with the manufacturer that they told us about), cooktop and hood. We later had a surprise issue with our vent system which was discovered during cabinetry and they personally came over to assess the issue and make recommendations. Their installers were great. He also was able to recommend some local craftsmen and technicians that we used and liked. We had a great experience with this company and have already been recommending them to our friends!Also, in dealing with Plugs Appliance Center we found out that the company is locally owned!

Good service great price
Horrible customer service. $9K fridge sat for 1 1/2 months and they could never tell me when it would be installed. Once installed, I have been waiting almost 2 months for them to correct fridge door that was mis-aligned when it was installed. They also scratched my hardwood floors. I will never buy another thing from these people. My experience is that they are arrogant and do not appreciate their customers.

Brad was a huge help picking out appliances for our new hoyse and stayed well past closing to explain the differences between brands and designs. He saved us a TON of money by matching prices of Lowes Hardware and dicounting everthing he could.
