I was referred here from UNC for vision assessment and therapy for Post Concussion Syndrome, and had therapy twice weekly for ~6 months. Dr. Miller is clearly a very knowledgeable and skilled provider. After my initial evaluation she was able to clearly explain to me what issues were going on with my vision, and how vision therapy would address them.Sandi P., my vision therapist, is both extremely knowledgeable about vision therapy, and extremely skilled in communicating them to individuals who are not (Me). Particularly when those individuals have a head injury (Also Me). Even though the therapy was not easy, Sandi was able to keep it to the perfect level of intensity, and also make sure that I didnt overdo and spend the next three days in bed. She also made it fun, which was highly appreciated mid-pandemic. (They also do fantastically about public health measures there). I really hope I dont end up needing VT in the future, but if I do, I know where Ill be going!Thank you to Triangle Visions and their amazing providers!!

I heartily recommend Dr. Brett Miller and her entire Vision Therapy staff for anyone dealing with vision issues after a concussion. Dr. Miller and her staff helped me go from somethings not right to Im feeling much better and I understand why. The entire staff is very caring and supportive and they understand and care about what concussion patients are going through on a deep level.

I was diagnosed by my GP with Bells Palsy a few days ago. This caused paralysis on the left side of my face with the inability to close my eye or even blink. My GP advised me to see an optometrist to help me manage and care for my exposed eye. I had to wait a day for an appointment with Triangle Vision because they were booked. I was surprised that they wouldnt squeeze me in due to my medical situation. I went to Triangle Vision the day before the appointment to at least pick up a pressure patch to help me keep my eye shut so I could sleep. I spoke with the receptionist and explained that my appointment was for the next day and I was looking for ways to make me more comfortable till then. She said I should talk with the doctor after she was finished with a customer. I waited patiently. She finished with the customer yet did not acknowledge me. There were no other customers in the shop. She sat at a table in the showroom doing paperwork. The polite receptionist announced to her that I was looking for a way to protect my exposed eye. I explained that I was looking for a patch to help me keep my eye closed. She said she might have one in the back. I waited while she continued to do paperwork. I asked if she was going to look for me. She said I would have to wait. She never even looked up at me to address me or briefly access my situation. I spoke with the receptionist and cancelled my upcoming appointment. I commented that the doctors treatment of me was inhuman and walked out.

Everyone is so pleasant and helpful. Valerie took extra time with me to make sure that I was completely satisfied with my purchase and trying my new glasses. Dr. O Mara was terrific. She was very knowledgeable and professional, answered all my questions and was so friendly. Lisa was very competent performing all the tests and also do friendly.

Dr. Clinard was amazing with my daughter, there for her first eye exam. Friendly, funny, engaging, she eased my daughters nervousness. It was the most fun Ive ever had at the eye doctor (for myself or any of my children)! Besides that, she was simultaneously professional and sharp - I felt we were in really good hands. The office itself is clean and well staffed, and we had great service. Very, very happy.

Our daughter has just completed a planned course of vision therapy and we couldnt be happier with the results. We have certainly seen the hoped-for improvement in grades. But more importantly, she has begun to enjoy things that used to be frustrating at school and her self-confidence has improved significantly. Dr. Miller was great at setting expectations and Ashley has made it fun from the beginning. Im pretty sure my daughter will miss going to her sessions. Thanks TVO!

Sandi and the entire staff at Triangle Visions were incredible during my 16 weeks of vision therapy. I always felt important and like my needs were attended too. My progress speaks volumes to the quality of treatment I received. Would highly recommend!

I went here because it was in a convenient location, but it ended up being way more inconvenient in the end. The front desk had a lot of trouble figuring out my vision insurance for some reason, so they gave up and told me to pay in full and they would work on it. It took days to get this refunded. Then I sat in the waiting room for probably 30 minutes with literally no one else there, then when I finally went to the exam room, I waited conservatively 35 minutes before anyone came into the room. Again, there were no other patients there. The doctor seemed competent, so no complaints there other than making me wait so long. After all this, I decided I didnt feel like buying glasses there (I bought contacts, just not glasses), but later on I figured Id get my prescription and look for glasses elsewhere. When I called and asked for my prescriptions, they said just so you know, your prescription will not include your pupillary distance, which you need to have and wherever you get glasses will ask you for it. If you would like that included in your Rx you need to pay an additional $25. I said well, thats ridiculous. Are you saying they didnt do the measurement or that you wont release my information to me? In short, they DID do the measurement, but it is company policy that they will not provide that without the extra fee unless you get glasses with them. Which really is mind-boggling. I paid a good amount of money out of pocket and for what? Just seems like bananas. Anyway, I went to Costco to get glasses and they did the measurement in 2 seconds for free, so dont believe them when they try to pull a fast one over on you. I will never consider going back here and I dont recommend anyone else does. Im shocked at how high their rating is. Oh also it took 3 calls and 3 days for me to finally get my prescriptions.

It was my first time attending an optometry appointment outside of my home state of Wisconsin. Based on some great Google reviews, I chose Triangle Visions in Chapel Hill, NC. I really had a great appointment; I could not have dilation eye drops due to driving, and instead chose to get retinal imaging. Such a great option for those not wanting to get drops. I really appreciate the kind staff that helped me every step of the way! Awesome and clean storefront.

There are some serious issues with this company and location. I’ll start with the good. The time spent to be seen and get your glasses is moderate. I liked Dr. Miller and thought she was knowledgeable and interested in my care. Valerie who works in glasses is exceptional in customer service, knowledge, and overall helpfulness.However, there is only one person in the glasses area. I had to wait sometimes 30 minutes to get a small adjustment to my glasses. I stopped coming for adjustments because it was hard to wait there with my small children just to straighten my glasses. Yesterday I came for my scheduled appointment only to find out it had been cancelled and given away because I did not respond to their TEXT MESSAGE reminder. Seriously. No one had made me aware that it was their policy that one MUST respond to their text messages in order to keep an appointment. Had it said that in the message, certainly I would have done so. It just seemed very lazy on their part to send mass text messages to patients asking them to respond and then canceling an appointment that I scheduled A YEAR IN ADVANCE, made childcare arrangements for, and then physically showed up to. They offered to work me in but I knew I would be waiting a very long time and that was not something I wanted, especially considering my childcare situation. Last year I came on my scheduled appointment day and they didn’t have me on the schedule so I had to reschedule then too.UPDATE 8/31/21:Updating to 4 stars. Kinks seem to have been ironed out. They got rid of the awful texting reminder that erases appointments. I do get multiple reminders to get my eye exam even when I just got one but that I can handle! Appointments are quick and efficient. Dr. O’Mara is A+. She spends time with you and I don’t feel like a check on her box for the day. There are 2 glasses people now. Valerie is still my #1 all-time-glasses pro.There is no one else I want to help me pick out glasses. Reception staff are pleasant and helpful every time I come in. I had to order contacts short notice before vacation and those ladies helped me out!

Thorough exam with clear explanations. The selection of eyewear is great... Not too many to overwhelm you with choices, but plenty to find a flattering pair. The employees are so helpful in fitting the proper shape to your face and they spend a ton of time helping!

While skeptical at first of the new management and ownership style of the new Triangle Visions Optometry, we feel that over the past year they have worked hard to make us happy customers and continue to receive eye examinations there and purchase eye wear there. First visit for my son, age 12, after switching from UNC due to long wait. So much more efficient and convenient. Learned about great option to prevent his eyesight from continuing to decline. Technology used was fabulous. He didn’t need his eyes dilated and we got great pictures of his retinas. As a physician, I would definitely recommend this place and my patients’ recommendations are the reason we came.

My doctor was knowledgeable in her field and she was very friendly with my children as they waited. My son had questions about the cut-away representation of the eye in the examination room and she could have given a one word answer and continued the exam. Instead, she paused what she was doing to explain the make up of the eye and to share his interest in what many eye doctors probably take for granted. It’s very rare to find a doctor that is able to include children in such a meaningful way.

While, they may have a nice office, their services are not up to par. I went to the Sanford location, purchased a pair of glasses and had to bring them back a few days later. The frame cracked. They ordered another pair of the same glasses and the exact same thing happen to that pair. They did give me a refund. I decided to go back to the location in Chapel Hill for an eye exam. Again, I had to order new prescription glasses. It has been three weeks, and I still have not received my glasses. No one has called to inform me of the delay. I call in a couple times a week to inquire. I do not plan on going back to this place again! If you want prompt service, go elsewhere.

I know Dr. Marshall personally and he is one of the finest people of my acquaintance. I was pleased to see that every member of the staff took time to assist me in a professional, knowledgeable and kind manner. I do not take this for granted! I was even helped by staff to choose the right frames since I needed feedback. When I find a professional business that carefully considers my overall welfare I remain a loyal customer and refer my friends.

Wonderful service. All of the staff was very friendly and very knowledgeable. They didn’t seem to mind taking time to answer questions. I felt very comfortable and welcomed and felt like they appreciated my business.

The receptionist was very helpful and delightful. I liked her (Valerie?) service very much. Dr. John is also very kind and thorough to explain things to me. I did get the service done for eye ball picture which is helpful. The only thing I feel a little bit uncomfortable is when I felt that some staff is pushing (nudging?)me to get some extra service (eye ball picture or glass)... Overall, I like the service.

First time getting my eyes checked and it was a great experience. From checking in to picking out glasses, everyone was very helpful! Dr. OMara is a great doctor!. She spent time explaining everything to me. Highly recommend this place!

The person who examined my eyes was good. The equipment was broken when I was there and so she figured out a way to complete the exam without using it. The person who fitted me for my glasses was seemed knowlegable but when I received my glasses, the bifocal started in my direct line of vision. When I took them back to have them remade, the person who helped me started bending my plastic frames without softening them first. I asked her to stop and told her that I like the way they fit; please dont bend. They did remake my glasses but when I picked them up and had them fit, the person who helped me (same one who was bending them without softening first), was rude and insisted that they fit well even when I told her they were loose. She also argued with me about the way they sat on my face. I might go there again for an eye exam but I will never buy another pair of glasses from them.

I drive quite a distance to have Dr. Omara as my optometrist. She is thorough, knowledgeable, fully professional and very personable to work with. I have also found the front desk team to be quite pleasant and efficient. If you are looking for a resource to manage your eye care, Triangle Visions on 15/501 south is terrific. I have not found their eyeglasses shop to be up to the standards of the rest of the practice but they always give you a copy of your prescription.

Dr. Barry Adler and staff were very attentive. I have a dry eye condition that made it twice as long for Dr. Adler to get my final, best refraction. He was very patient and worked hard to give me the best result.

My experience at Triangle Visions Optometry of Chapel Hill was great. Everyone was so welcoming. They treated me like I was more than just a new patient. The staff was very friendly, and not the I-am-trying-too-hard friendly, but their happiness and helpfulness was genuine. I felt like a friend instead of a patient when I left.

I have asked three times for someone to call me regarding purchasing glasses. Initially someone was supposed to call me when the glasses she ordered for me came in. No call, so I have now called twice over the course of two weeks with no return call. The optometrist was great and the front desk seemed helpful but there is absolutely no follow through here.

Everyone at this practice is very nice and helpful. I have been a patient of Dr Marshall for about 8 years, he is very informative, explains everything, and addresses any problems. I have always felt I was in good hands with him.

Generally positive. Personnel is very agreeable. Only negative - my eyesight was supposed to be corrected for near vision and the glasses I received had my eyesight corrected for far vision. The mistake was corrected at no charge.

Im disappointed that I wasnt advised that the refractory test was optional and not covered by my insurance. I advised my doctor before she did the test that I had 20-15 vision with my glasses and was happy with what I had. The $50 I had to pay out of pocket was for no reason whatsoever.

The very first thing the receptionist said to me is that I have to pay the bill in full if the insurance wont pay. I responded that I am here for a medical optometry appointment, covered by medical insurance, not an elective procedure, so insurance will pay in full, with only a small co-pay of $10 out of pocket. I also stated I am not here for fun, this is an appointment the Dr advised should be scheduled, to monitor for Glaucoma risk, not a voluntary, uninsured visit. She then looked up my VSP insurance coverage and said they wont pay for my exam and that I will need to pay in full. I explained I have already had my eye exam there a month ago, which they should have already known and also should have known what my appointment was for today as well, as how to bill it. She asked me how she should bill this and I told her to ask the Doctor how she should bill this, not the patient. The doctor told her to bill my medical insurance, not VSP, then she checked my medical insurance card and benefits, but checked the wrong plan somehow, and after my exam was done, she informed me that I need to pay for the exam in full, since I have a $1000 deductible. I explained that on my medical insurance, I have a $0 deductible, with only a $10 copay, but she insisted I was wrong and had to pay the full amount. I refused, knowing better and she went to get another employee, who also pushed back and told me I need to sign a document that states I will pay, if the insurance doesnt and continued to tell me I was wrong about my coverage and that I need to call our HR department and let them know our plan is showing a deductible. I am fully aware of the coverage and benefits that my husband and I pay for and have not had any issues with our previous Optometrists office. Just to make sure the situation is resolved, I contacted Blue Cross Blue Shield and confirmed I do in fact have only a $10 copay and no deductible at all. She was also rude, yelling out at me as I left, saying have a nice weekend! Blue Cross gave me a case # to provide to them, to confirm I have only a $10 copay. I called the billing office to advise them that the Chapel Hill location is desperately in need of training, severely lacks competency and needs to be shown how to properly process billing. I also pointed out that my insurance card, which they have a copy of, clearly shows $0 deductible on the front of the card, and also has the phone number for the insurance company on the back of the card, and a quick phone call would have easily cleared up any of their confusion, had they been willing to make the effort when asked. Billing said they have elevated this internally and will address the situation. We are changing eye doctors, as this is not the first issue we have had at this office, and from reading their reviews, we are among the many patients that have experienced the same or similar issues here. This is just not acceptable service and I can only imagine the difficulty and hassle we would have experienced, trying to obtain a refund, if I had paid what should have been automatically billed to our insurance company. Be careful if you go here, make sure you are not over charged or billed incorrectly.

The doctors I have seen there are AMAZING. Love them. I purchased one pair of glasses with NO ISSUES. Love them. Purchased through the discount package program and was thrilled. Added no glare, transition, and paid a good amount for them but was extremely happy. My second purchase, not so much. Purchased a 40%off frame. They got it confused in the purchase with a discount package lens. it was a larger lens I could only see out of a small portion if the lens. Took them back. Was told it was my fault and was charged over 100 to upgrade. Got the second lens back, no transitions. Was told ok, we wont charge the upgrade fee and will remake them. Got the third set and it was the same as the first lens. Finally got the 4th set of lenses and I just settled for what I got almost 5 months later and $500 in the hole after my insurance paid out. I still wear my old glasses more than my new rx. I wont go back.

The Worst!! I ordered my glasses on September 20th of last year and as of today January 12th 2019 I still do not have my glasses. After they ordered my first glasses on September 20th I received the new pair with the wrong prescription in them, so they sent them back to the lab after 2 weeks I called to see when they would be in and the front desk gave me the run around and told me the lab messed up and it would be another 2 weeks. I called after 2 weeks and was told they were ready for pick-up, brought them home and could not see correctly, so i took them back and was told the lab messed up again and they would have to send them back. I pick them up 2 weeks later and they are still wrong and I was told that I would have to come in for another exam that I scheduled for today January 12 2019. I arrived at 11:15 for my 11:20 appointment sat in the lobby with my wife and 14 month old daughter for 20 minutes before I was taken to a exam room. I waited in the exam room for almost 35 minutes before I was seen by the optometrist after a 10 minute exam she found that the original prescription was not correct and would have to send them out again and wait another 2 weeks. We finally left at 1:00 after telling the manager how long we had been there she showed no empathy and just said its Saturday its always like this. Avoid this place at all cost in the 46 years Ive been wearing glasses I never have experienced anything like this.

I purchased a pair of regular glasses and sunglasses one year ago. Both pairs had to be returned and adjusted due to incorrect prescription. The sun glasses still are not correct. I was disappointed with the result considering the cost of the glasses.

I am having a hard time with my glasses. I went back to using an old pair because I cannot read with the new ones. I am using the mid distance vision glasses for regular glasses. I will never use your service again. Your lens grinder people are not so good and I had a terrible time getting my glasses because of delays.
