Totally solid for buying products but please if you need to get your computer/phone repaired go to a Best Buy or something. 2/6/19 Update. This statement still holds true. There was a particular display that was no longer valid, why is it still posted as a service staples is offering? Some basics are lacking. So you may be a teacher, professional, or small business owner with a need for brochures and run into a pitfall, print solutions. Approached the copy center and greeted the folks who were busy. Asked what services they offered for brochures and held up an example. “What services do you offer here?” Pointing to the banners around the room. Finally got an answer from the farthest person about same day services. Great. Go to upload images for the brochures and run into many different errors like files are oversized to print from an email. See image.Your goal is to be a solution center offering products and services to help the customer. Will try again to see if this experience is a one off or is in need of changes to provide better service.

I usually use FedEx for the sort of print job that I did with Staples. The online interface was buggy such that I had to repeat my order several times before it finally went through. I was also charged a $10 rush fee to have a relatively small job ready in about 20 hours. FedEx usually does this same order for me in a matter of hours for no extra cost. The people at the store were nice but did not do anything to solve the problem.

There to make copies; I usually do self service but today had some copies made by staff and was charged $2.37 extra because my order was called some sort of priority order According to the employee she was doing my order instead of one that another customer left and would picked up later. Sort of reminds me of all the extra charges the airlines charge like travelling with luggage. I definitely wont have Staples making any copies for me again! Outrageous!

Staples in Chapel Hill does not even deserve a star. I called today to inquire pricing on printing and their customer service was so in hurry that she did not even care to entertain my questions or allow me to place my order. What are your trying to sell Staples? Courteous customer service can help this store location. Its no wonder the store is always lack of customers when I come in. Prices are higher at Office Depot/Office Max, but because they have trained sales clerk who are courteous, Office Depot/Max makes more of a pleasant place to shop. Staples can learn from customer service from Office Depot/Office Max.

We were rudely told they couldnt print something for our wedding within 24 hrs. I understand people are busy, but dont be rude and make snide comments behind your printer about your schedule. FedEx on Franklin Street had no issue getting the job done... After all, its just printing some paper. Thumbs up to them and give them a try if Staples is too busy to help you.

It’s possible this store is going through a transformation. Cashiers smile and are nice, but the stocking is pretty awful. They were out of poly mailers, so I came back the next week. Still out. I asked an employee said the truck arrives tonight. Came back in the morning and was informed the truck may not be fully unloaded and on the floor until tonight / tomorrow morning. Staples will never be a competitor when online options are so much faster.

Another update: 12/4/19: Excellent technical service by Dillon at the Chapel Hill, NC location. Much appreciated.Update: another laptop service that was professionally handled. Trent and the other tech support people are knowledgeable and seem to care.I have an older laptop which had a crazy email problem. Scott, Gabe and Steven worked as a team over a couple of days to back up the system, do a deep virus clean and check and then deleted a staggering number of emails (the system went crazy and replicated each email at least 10 times.) With the purchase of a 1TB hard drive on sale for $60), and hours of back-up and deletions, they finally got my system working again. They were also quite good in keeping me informed. For a big chain, this was very personalized service.

Can you say rude? My review is mainly on there delivery services. About a week ago, I ordered 5 boxes of HP paper to be delivered. The next day the delivery truck arrived at my home as soon as I was about to leave. He parked right in front of the drive way (which is fine). He got out of his truck and put all 5 boxes on his dolly.Since there were two cars in the drive way, he could not get through. I asked if he could go through the grass. He said You want to try to carry these boxes through the grass? Then I asked Why do you not take a box or two off. To which he responded I do not have time for that. I asked What if no one was here to move a car, what would you have done? He said he would not have completed the delivery. I told him he did not have to be rude about the whole situation. I moved the car and he dumped everything in the garage. I told him I was going to make a call or write a review about his services, to which he replied alright go for it. Our delivery man is named Anthony. I will no longer be buying from Staples. We own a local tax office and buy a lot of tonor, hp and canon ink, hp paper and folders. I will give all my business to Office Depot from now on.

I went to Staples today to buy some ink, sheet protectors, and to ship a package with their UPS shipping service. I could not find the specific type of sheet protector in the store, and so I asked someone for help. He said that they may carry it online but no longer carry it in the store. I understood that, since the product I was looking for is not one that most people would usually buy anyways. Then I went to the ink section and they did not have a very great selection for the Brother ink. I found the one I was looking for and went to go check out. The cashier was very rude towards me and did not seem happy at all. Then, when I left, I forgot my ink on the counter and she said do you want this? in a condescending tone. I did not appreciate her behavior towards me.Went up to the UPS shipping counter and waited forever before I went to go find someone who could help me. The people at the copy and ship counter saw me waiting there but nobody came over to help. When I finally did get help, the person was not very helpful and did not really seem to care about my package.Went home to check and see if I could purchase my sheet protector product online, and it said that they had 8 in stock at that Staples store and that I could place the order online and go pick it up. I am frustrated because I have bought this exact same product from this store a few weeks ago, and even when I went to go pick it up after placing my order online, had to wait at least 15 minutes before I was helped.I will no longer be returning to buy things in person from Staples, no matter how many coupons they send me.

I ordered a chair to be shipped to store, and the website told me it would be available for pick up right away. The store didnt have it, and I was told that something had been switched and the chair was being shipped to the store to arrive on Monday. I made what I thought was a reasonable request... to have it shipped to my home instead of to store since I work 10 day weeks and it would be a long time before I could make it out to the store again. The employee I was speaking to seemed very inconvenienced to help me with that. She kind of huffed and called the manager over. The manager was also pretty unenthusiastic about helping out. Eventually I just felt uncomfortable and told them not to bother, that Id just come back in a couple weeks. I cant say I want to order from Staples again after all this.

The store needs to seriously do an inventory check. I have been to the store twice in two days. The first time I checked online to make sure it was in stock at this location but when I arrive the employees were just as confused why they couldnt find it in their store. They chalked it up to an inventory error. Today I place an order online for in-store pickup for something obviously showing in stock. I paid ahead with my credit card. When I got to the store I was notified that it was not in stock at that store. An hour round trip drive to the store to pick up an item that states it is in stock at that location and showing up for it to not be in the store at all is a huge problem and a huge waste of anyones time. Get it together.

This is a retail store. Their business is the business of selling things. Dont enter if you dont plan on buying something. Even if its a ridiculous price (ex: $99 SD card 128GB) it gets price matched to guarantee sales... but the corporate entity overlooks the fact that WITH THE PRACTICE OF OVERCHARGING, YOU ONLY GUARANTEE YOUR OWN BANKRUPTCY because if (as a person of average intelligence) I realize I can force a price match then your employees are basically pushing me toward STAPLES competition. Those who give deals and reduced prices on the same products found in Staples. Instead, they should develop a method of significantly restricting advertisements and marketing to a specific demographic whose only purpose in life is to be an entrepreneur. STAPLES, you cant compete with Walmart. So stop selling school supplies. Pay for state of the art tech at reasonable prices and in-shop business development (business card printing station was cool). That way you dont lose a customer who wants a $99 SD card to Walmart because they sell it for $70. Also, whatever tech is in Walmart, probably shouldnt be in STAPLES anyway because that connection cheapens STAPLES image.

My experience was great. I cracked my iPhone screen a month ago and I went to see how much it would cost for it to get fixed. They told the price which was reasonable. The only thing that went wrong was that I left my wallet back at home which is 30 mins away and I was going to be out of town the rest of the week. They said that they would hold my iPhone in the back for me until Friday and I could pick it up then. Also the time frame it took for them to fix my phone was less than 30 mins. Picked it up the next day only to find out they did one sided copies. Pointed that out and they said they would fix it in 15 minutes I also emphasized I wanted laid out as in the orginal. When I got home I discovered they had done front to back but had the wrong pages facing each other making page turns impossible. I sent my husband and they told him it would be the next afternoon before they could fix it. I give up!!

While Staples people are great, and I really like everybody there, especially in the copy and print center, their prices and inventory are lacking. The quality of work and printing in the copy and print center is excellent, but if you are completely out of an item, which they sometimes are, then you get a ZERO for quality, because you dont have anything. This has happened to me twice at Staples. They were out of 4x6 blank note cards, so I found a MUCH MUCH better price online. Also, for things like labels, they are off the charts expensive. Youll pay double for blank shipping labels than you would have if you went online and ordered them straight to your door from somewhere else like world label. They also sell these new Toshiba PCs, which are horrible products. I wouldnt even carry them, if I were Staples, it makes them look bad.

I have suffered a very poor experience here. I have been shopping at this Staples location for years. I often buy stationery, art supplies for my grandchildren, and printers and ink (to print pictures of my daughter, my grandchildren and my garden) and while my friends told me to go to the walmart I said no! I said I will go to the Staples in Chapel Hill. I said the employees treat me nice here. Well I was WRONG... They USED to treat a customer well here but NO LONGER!When I went to checkout, a short bearded man with a wrinkled grey Staples shirt was on the till. The name on his badge read Trent. I asked for help carrying the Printer I was purchasing to the counter. This Trent only looked at me, yet he did not acquiesce to respond. I asked again for help... he rolled his eyes, and spoke into the radio connected to his ear. Shortly thereafter, a sprightly young employee appeared, and he carried the printer to the counter where it was scanned. I waited to be asked for my rewards card but the Trent did not ask for it. This is the reason why I shop at Staples! The rewards are essential to my journeys to this store. Finally after realizing he would not ask me for them, I inquired whether I might use my rewards. The Trent brusquely and angrily told me in a loud voice that the Rewards Card didnt matter and I should not ask about it again. I felt afraid and embarrassed but I did ask again and he grabbed my Rewards Card out of my hand with the utmost force and scanned it. Persistence is key! When he scanned my card, he asked if I was done but before I could respond he suddenly left. Shortly thereafter a pleasant young African American woman took over my transaction and completed it.After the transaction was over I inquired whether I might have assistance carrying the printer to my car. The checkout girl who completed my transaction asked the manager, the Trent, who seemed to laugh at my request. I felt ashamed for asking for help. I asked again and finally a young man with a Blue Staples shirt came and helped take my printer to my car.Overall, I believe the employees were generally helpful. And the printer works very well. The color is bright and I will be reprinting pictures of my family I have already printed with this new higher quality printer. Yet this manager the Trent - with the grey shirt and the slovenly unkempt appearance - was very difficult and rude. I have had fine experiences at this location in the past but this latest visit makes me hesitate to return.

I can only speak for my experience of using their self-service printers. These things are disgustingly slow, difficult to use, and all-around frustrating. I came here to print 200 color flyers, and if I had to do it again, I would just buy a printer and do it at home. It probably wouldve cost less anyway. I will say that the employees who tried to help me with the machines were nothing but friendly and professional, but even they couldnt overcome the mind-numbing incompetence of these robotic torture boxes.

My experience with Staples has been positive, but please read on. In shopping for a printer, I went to a big box store and bought a Kodak printer that within a year gave me so many problems that I discarded it at the recycling center. I went to Staples, and on advice of salesperson, bought my HP Officejet 6500A Plus, which has given me no problems whatsoever. The Staples salesperson knew about the Kodak printers problems; Staples wasnt even selling it at the time. Then, when I was ready for a new computer, a Staples representative talked me into a Lenovo PC, Sophos anti-virus protection, and a 2-year warranty. Total cost (about $700) was less than what I had spent on my 2007 Dell laptop alone.Since my 2013 purchase, I have had some minor issues with the computer. Most of these resulted from my getting tricked by nefarious malware and hackers. The Staples staff has fixed the problem twice, once at no charge. Last time (today) was at $69.99.I have worked in organizations (NIH) that have a full-time IT staff-person to fix computer problems for employees like me who struggle with their computers.Staples provides decent service at a reasonable cost. The personnel are young people trying to do the best they can. It helps to be polite with them and work with them. In my opinion, they are reasonably competent and a bargain for those of us who dont have a dedicated IT person that would be much more expensive. In terms of service for the money, I would give Staples on Franklin Street 5-stars.

A horrible place to print!!!! Have been Waiting for more than 40 minutes without anybody help me and have no idea why all the 3 to 4 self-print machines dont recognize my USB, and cannot print through email neither! Asked the guy in printer center to help, he did not, then he got a lady to come. The lady tried my USB on her computer and told me my USB does not work even though she saw the folder and files I need to print, but she could not print them. Then she took me to another computer and wanted me to figure out by myself. After I asked her to show me how to use their computer to access my email to get the file, after I got my file, she still did not know how to print them. Then she doubt my picture files are illegal to print. She wanted me to come back next morning to print it. She left. Anyway, after I sat there to try for more than half hour, actually that computer can print the file from my USB! So my picture file is legal to print and my USB is not broken as she said. I printed 24 pages of letter size, with 10 pages that were not the right paper or size I wanted, then it charges me more than $34.00 dollar even though the price is $0.99 cent per page!!! I have no idea they charge 37 cents per minute for using computer and nobody told me that neither!!!The worse thing is the manager, a short and thin ma, is horrible!!! He was not willing to return the charge of extra $11.00 of the computer time, which I should not use it if their self-print machine works, or if their people can help to use my USB to print! The manager has horrible and mean attitude! I said I will never come back there, he said good, then we win....!!!It sucks!!!!! Wasted lots of my previous time to print some color prints with very unhappy time to deal with their machine and their very unfriendly people!
