Jenna Day, along with the rest of her amazing staff, was incredible in teaching and guiding my grandson (and me) in the process of selecting which instrument to pursue. Everyone was so kind, caring, patient, and professional. I look forward to my grandson starting lessons soon! What a wonderful first experience!!!

Friendly and helpful staff. Brought my moms old violin in looking for some kind of answers. Its been sitting in the back of my closet for 5 years. Clearly he knows his stuff. What really impressed me he said, if you have a few minutes I could clean it up for you. He cleaned it up, added a strings and more! I decided to leave it with him. He partners with a charity!!!!!! Weve used Day Violins for rental and for repair once we bought and instrument. The people that work here are polite, friendly and experts at what they do. The instruments the rent are high quality and the prices are reasonable.

Beware - Day Violins will not issue a refund if you return a rental instrument early. Charged us on the last day of school for another full month. What a racket!

No business is error free, so when those errors occur the treatment of the customer reveals the character of the people running the business. Day Violins made one such error when dealing with my teen musician. Their response was to be honest about what happened, complete the work anyway, and come to a more than amicable payment arrangement. They did this without my complaint or pressure. I was, honestly, surprised when I went to pick up the item we had left for repair and found the work done - and done well. Day Violins is an hour drive for me and there are much closer music shops. Ill skip past them all to work with a business like this. Weve been in the NOVA music scene for several years now and they came highly recommended. Now I know why.

This is my favorite strings shop in Northern VA, and it’s SOOO nice not to have to go all the way to Potter’s in Bethesda from Fairfax! I am a professional violist and strings teacher and I have gotten my viola repaired several times at Day Violins, every time fantastic work and great customer service!! I can’t recommend them highly enough :)

Jason Day provided wonderful customer service and had a violin shipped to me so I wouldn’t have to come back into the shop again. He cares so much about his customers!

Our music store was closed but my sons bow needed to be rehaired so I tried this one closeby today. They told me $70 rehair and $95 for new bow. New bow seems to be an easy choice. So the guy took my old bow to the back of the store and came back with a new one. I later realized that my sons old bow was never returned back to me until I got home. So I called to find out what happened to my old bow. Here is what they said your old bow went into an exchange program. BUT at NO point this was ever mentioned/discussed when I was in store nor I gave my permission to give away my old bow. What a practice! I got my old bow back but hairs are all cut and gone so I suppose they will BE EXCHANGED! It only cost me 2 trips and some hairs...What a dishonest business! BEware! Of course I return that new bow!! Next up I will contact BBB

Very knowledgeable and friendly staff, and great selection of instruments. I dropped in a couple months ago to “just look” at violins. They let me play every vintage fiddle in the shop, and I ended up buying the one I fell in love with that day. Helpful luthier and good follow-up service to keep the instrument in prime playing condition. Good selection of accessories and rental instruments as well.

We spent several months and played at least 50+ bows around the DMV trying to find a bow that matched my sons violin and at a price we could afford. Jason Day took the time to work with us and give us personal attention where other shops generally left us alone to figure it all out on our own. When we found one that matched the violin and had a great sound quality too, Jason and Jamie did all they could to make sure it went home in my sons violin case. Its been a few week snow and he loves the bow! Definitely on our short list for violin shops the next time we need something. Thanks Jason and Jamie!

Everytime I had visited this place, its been a great experience. Amazing staff and everyone working with serious sense of urgency. Inspite of the place being jam packed, I have always ended up spending less time that expected. Most importantly the gentleman (cant remember the name) who works there most of the time is super courteous and very polite. Always willing to answer any question without rushing.
