Asked for an inspection on a potential used car purchase. They found many problems, did not charge me there as there was so much obviously wrong with it. Very honest to have done that when they took their time to do this. Would highly recommend as honest with very good business practices and professional attitude on the phone putting up with my many calls to arrange this. Called me back very promptly. I was thinking of buying a used truck from a local dealer very nearby, but before making such an investment i figured it was wise to have a local shop check the vehicle out throughly before making the purchase and im glad I did. For a mere $80 Dulles South did a pre purchase inspection complete with 40pt mechanical inspection and a road test of the vehicle. For that small price they discovered a leaky oil pan and/or main seal front and rear brakes that need to be replaced. Leaking at the front pinion seal and the transfer case. A transmission that had been replaced, power windows a radio and an odometer that doesnt work and i havent even begun to mention the electrical issues or the fact that every major fluid needs to be replaced or even all the leakage at the front axle seal or the fact that both lower control arms and ball joints need to be replaced. I found all of that out for $80. The fact that Ive saved littereraly thousands of dollars countless headaches and no doubt the very distinct possibility of being stuck on the side of the road sometime in the near future. The fact that I didnt end up buying that lemon is something thats absolutely priceless.

I have nothing but good things to say about Chantilly Auto and highly recommend them!They have been great with making sure my vehicles get great care at reasonable prices. I found them a few years ago after I was having issues finding a place that was honest and not constantly trying to run up my bill.A recent example: the usual place I get my car inspection told me (Feb) that even though I passed inspection I would soon need brake pads. Gave me an estimate that included replacing brake pads and rotors (several hundreds of $$). Mid-May I called Chantilly Auto and set up an appointment to get oil change and brake pads replaced. Found out I didnt need brake pads and certainly didnt need new rotors. They will check my brake pads at the next oil change.

I have a 15 year old car with over 300k miles and my experience with this shop has been all positive. I get the explanation that I need to make an informed decision. The work is done timely and night drop off is very convenient.They are courteous both before and after payment. I love that they check up to see if all is well after the repair.

Best place, full stop. Im a single mom always running on a tight budget so when I stumbled across Dulles South Chatilly Automotive more than a dozen years ago I was hooked. The staff is professional, do what they say they will do, and talked and walked me through all my options as my family grew up and all of our cars came into the teams care. They are so wonderful they have met me on a highway and swapped cars and taken a call from my daughter when she was away at college to talk her through her car trouble. Outstanding work and customer service. Had an aftermarket exhaust system put on and new tires mounted/balanced and it was done less than two hours. They kept me in the loop of the status the whole time, asked me if I wanted to keep my stock exhaust, gave me the warranty card, talked to me about keeping the tires balanced correctly and in good shape going forward. Truck was due for inspection and they through that in there as part of the original (low) total cost. Comfortable waiting area as well. Two thumbs up! Will be back again for sure. Thanks!

Ive been taking my CR-V here for a few years and have always had a good experience. They do a really good job explaining what work needs to be done and how important each specific thing is. Everything Ive had fixed or serviced here has worked well and their prices seem to be pretty good as well.
