Chai and his team are as good as they come--Trustworthy and willing to go the extra mile! I saved $650 having a timing belt changed as compared to the dealership and a lot on other repairs and maintenance, too. They have performed repairs on two of our Japanese- and German-made cars, and we could not be more pleased!
BMC Automotive Services is one of the best BMW repairs in Northern Virginia. I have been a customer for almost five years now and I give it Five Stars. I have spoken with other BMC customers from North Carolina and elsewhere. They wouldnt trust any other BMW dealer mechanics except BMC Automotive Services. You can expect to save a lot of money because the honesty of BMC.
Even 5 stars is not enough for BMC Automotive. I have been a customer since 2012, once my first 3 series got out of the warranty period and I am now back again that my second 3 series is out of warranty. I had a scary incident on the weekend where the brakes of my car failed and I ended up on a sidewalk to avoid a collision with traffic in the intersection I was barreling towards. I called them up on Monday morning (panicked) and the car was with them by afternoon. They spent HOURS looking into this for me and could have come back with a list of “repairs” knowing they had a terrified customer on their hands. They were honest with their findings and I can’t even put in words what it means to find a place that will tell you the truth, not inflate to make a few hundred dollars (or more) at the expense of a shook up customer. This isn’t the only experience I have had that has shown me their honesty. Pre-pandemic, I had brought in my car for work that cost me around $400 while the dealer quoted me over $800 (!?!). That aside, I thought I had an issue with the settings on my radio, another way any other shop could have easily made money as I was convinced there was a problem. Not BMC, someone sat with me and showed me there was no issue and what I was doing wrong. You just don’t see people like this anymore. So when they tell me something is needed for my car, I don’t question it. Their humanity and honesty speaks for itself, they have a customer for life.
I have nothing but great things to say about the services of BMC. I have been bringing my car BMW 325i 2001 since 2013. They are super friendly and knowledgeable mechanics, They saved me thousands dollars on parts and repairs compared to the dealer. I bring my vehicle for maintenance annually and they take care of whatever needs to be done, repairs, oil change, winterizing etc. they only tell me what needs to done and don’t do any unnecessary repairs. They are great and honest people. They have my back as far as I own this old car. I’m glad to have found BMC and I have recommended them to couple of my coworkers.
The best place to let them take care of your BMW! Honest, friendly, with reasonable pricing!
I took my 2006 325i in for a battery problem wherein the car wouldnt start without a jump, for which BMC charged me $100 for a diagnostic. I figured Id try BMC based on reviews here, and because Im not hugely price sensitive, the $100 wasnt a big deal. However, after running the diagnostic, they recommended a new battery at a cost of $515, literally $200 more than competing shops within a quarter mile of their site. That left me feeling like they were trying to take advantage of my cars condition--not a good feeling. For that, I wouldve given them an average rating...However, then I looked in my trunk to see if the BMC techs had done anything to the battery. While I was doing my own checking before taking the car to the shop, I had removed the trunks battery cover (the cloth/felt part of the car that sits atop the battery) and removed the arm that keeps the battery in place. It turns out that BMC didnt bother to even physically look at the battery, or if they did, they didnt bother putting the arm or the battery cover back in place--they were both rolling around in the trunk freely. For $100, they didnt even bother to visually inspect the battery itself, or at least didnt bother to put things back in place. I dont know what kind of shop doesnt bother to look at the source of the problem, but its not one Ill go to again.Try Viking Automotive down the street for way better prices and service that actually fixes issues rather than recommending outrageously priced services.
Friendly, honest, reasonable prices, and good job on the work. Richard is the most helpful person I ever met. He work above and beyond to get what customer need and he is very knowledgeable. I definitely would recommended to anyone.
I have nothing but great things to write about BMC. In the automotive repair business, the ideal is excellence at a reasonable price. They fall into that category. I have a BMW that has had serious problems over the years. Case in point, squirrels ate up wires and destroyed abs system. That is an expensive fix but BMC found a way to make it work for me. Back in 2011, I had a leak in my sunroof which water damage destroyed the fuses under the carpet on front passenger side. What a mess...nothing worked.. any other garage would have made it prohibitive but they were able to fix it reasonably and its been good since then, 7 years. Plus they are nice people!!
I love this place. Extremely knowledgeable, professional and honest all at rates that cant be beat. There is no better place to have your BMW serviced and repaired in the DC area.
I have had service done at BMC automotive for several years now. They have worked on my BMW 325, a 325ci Convertible, and an X3. Their work is excellent, always on time, and communication is wonderful. Pricing is always fair and always below dealer pricing (except for oil change promotions at the dealer). I have had the dealer misdiagnose problems and Chai has always figured out the problem, while saving me thousands of dollars on repair costs. BMWs are not inexpensive to maintain, but with BMC having my back, I continue to own these well driving vehicles.
Good rates and really good service. Super friendly and they addressed to all my needs for my 2007 BMW 335i.
Amazing service! Very honest people that gave me a way cheaper deal than the dealership.
BMC Automotive does great work. Specifically Chai is an excellent mechanic and does superior work for an affirdanpble price. When I first came to him ~7 years ago, he fixed poor work from another mechanic. From then on I was hooked. They provide a loaner car whenever possible. And with Chai’s prior background coming from a BMW dealer it’s apparent he knows what he’s doing. I’m on my second BMW and Chai/BMC is the only guy I’d take my car.
Useless shop, dont even bother coming here. The guy seemed friendly and honest at first, but the estimate that he provided me kept rising by the hour for a job that the dealership would have probably done for much cheaper.
They are easy to work with and I trust them. Great service and knowlegeable mechanics.
They do great work here and address my concerns to the fullest with the vehicle everytime, unlike the dealer. Theyve gained my trust and I will continue to bring my car here for service.
Ditto another post: most honest guys Ive ever dealt with. I would never consider going anywhere else
My husband is a great mechanic
Friendly customer service
