Wonderful night out with my friend. We had a delicious meal and just talked. Our server Lisette was awesome. She helped with our menu choices, was very friendly and refilled our drinks often. Food was hot and delicious. We will definitely go back soon.

Food was delicious. We ordered the Southwest Scram-bowl and it was a great portion size. The sweet cream pancakes were also a nice side dish - not overly sweet but can eat them plain without butter or syrup.

Went in for first time. Inside casual atmosphereFirst stop bathroom and wasn’t to clean.Than booth seating. Pretty comfortable.Newspaper menu and they reuse these which I found to be not sanitary. I actually spilled a bit of my drink on it wiped it dried up and watched waitress put back with other newspaper menus.With covid and all I would think they would throw away menu’s after customer used. Yes an expense tho for sanitary reasons I personally would have felt better. Or go to a plastic menu that can be wiped dwn.I ordered taco salad no avocado and my mother ordered open faced turkey sandwich.Wish I had taken pictures. Taco salad shell was burnt. Ground beef looked old and dry. Taste wasn’t that bad as I hadn’t had anything to eat all day tho really couldnt eat much of this as it wasn’t to good and their were slices of avocado when I said no avocado and it had brown on avocado like it was old and looked soft like ready for making guacamole so lost my appetite a bit. Waitress said after I told her “guess cook didn’t see no avocado”“oh I can just take it off”Open faced turkey sandwich had zero presentation 2 pieces of white bread with gravy turkey in plate with mashed potatoes a extremely small container with maybe a teaspoon of cranberry sauce no vegetables side The turkey was tuff my mother couldn’t eat it and waitress never asked how food was even when their was only 2 other parties in restaurant so not even busy. When she came over to table she said “would you like a box? I said no she couldn’t eat this. Never asked what was wrong only took plate away. And asked if I wanted a box to take home taco salad. Of course I said no.Seems like we ordered wrong menu items. Saw another party eating breakfast which looked ok and other party were eating a corn muffin that looked good. Tho maybe it all looked good because our food left us hungry.You pay at register when leaving.The lady at check out was very nice and I saw some small pies or cobbler you can take to go or order at table. I saw on menu they had bread pudding. Asked if they had this as none in case with pies and cobbler. Young lady was so nice and said let me check in back if they had the bread pudding. And yes they did. Took it home. Large portion for $4.99. It was I must say really good. Overall I’m disappointed tho I still think I will try again for breakfast or to try those corn muffins. 😊

I met up with a friend from out of town. Service from Lebeau was excellent. he kept my coffee cup full and made sure my order came out just as I asked. the food was really good. Im on a carb free diet and for a comfort food place, the flavor was spot on. my friend had a more traditional black bear meal and he said it hit the mark as well.Ive always enjoyed black bear, especially this location, and recommend you check it out as well.

I work in Cottonwood, AZ and Blackbear is one of my spots to eat breakfast at when, I need some change. So it only made sense to pack the family up and give them a black ear experience.No wait time, however the waitress was double sat, drink orders took about 15 min and placing our food order was another task in its own.Sunday morning its understandable its going to be busy, but my real issue is my food order.I ordered a Chicken fried steak, NOT a Steak fried steak, which one is listed as such. No where in the chicken does it mention beef.I finally am able to waive down the waitress and she says its beef, I questioned why does the menu say Chicken that does not make any logical sense. She brings the manager over who continues the same story, and doesnt want to see the mistake in the menu. The condescending tone at how he speaks to people tells me he has terrible communication skills and placing blame on corporate is his go to response.Save yourself the trip and head to Sunnys on Chandler Blvd & Alma School, we should have just made the drive and saved ourselves the headache.

The food is always really good. The cook has his mask under his chin. The server has his mask over his mouth but not his nose. He told me he didnt have to wear a mask, he has his own freedom. I have a very weak immune system so I dont think I can come back. Its not worth the risk. I left without eating a bite. Screw that guy, he has the right to put me at risk???

We have been in 3 different BB diners in Utah and tried 3 here in the valley, Chandler was by far the best one. BB diners offer a large menu with breakfast all day and good portions. Get the fresh squeezed OJ.

On the website it shows closing time is 8pm. However, drove 30 minutes to get there only to find out that they shut their kitchen down at 7. I was there at 7:20. Staff was rude. Refused to sit us. Never going back

Pray you get Jon as your server, because hes an absolute unit. Also, the food here rivals the best diners in AZ. For a growing chain, Black Bear is absolutely solid. They make their own hot sauces too, and they are comparable to Arizona Gunslinger sauces. The gravies are incredible. Friday All-You-Can-Eat Fish Fry? Easy 5 stars from me. Affordable, comfy, local.

My family loves the Black Bear in Chandler, so when we were in the area to try the Tempe one we figured why not. It is not the same. The woman that sat us was brisk with me when I asked if there was a booth. I was very surprised. My daughters food was burnt, so the sliders she asked for was not eaten and a waste of my money. My MIL is not one to return food so I didnt. My daughter just ate off everyone elses plate. Then as we are finishing up, I hear the kitchen staff use the F word three times! My kids are right next to me and dont need to hear that. Will be staying in Chandler from now on.

When I get service its great and the food is outstanding. Ive been here twice now where Ive waited over 15 minutes for service and never got any and had to walk out. Thought the 1st time was just short staffed so I gave them another chance. I went last Friday around 11 with my daughter and the girl with the super short hair came with water and then never came back. There was only about 5 or 6 total tables at that time with a couple servers and we waited over 16 minutes. We finally walked out and this time decided wed never go back. Sad because its so yummy but Ive wasted my time twice now waiting so Ill find somewhere else to eat.

This is the place! I have been visiting Black Bear Diner for almost a year now. I stop in at least once a month. The staff is always amazing, the food is amazing. This is the kinda place you wish you had an extra stomach for! It’s just so good!

I guess it was my fault for arriving twenty five minutes prior to closing - first comment told to me was, We are about to close, so..Ive never visited this restaurant prior, and was hungry and ordered the chicken fried steak. I received a lunchroom quality patty with two mashed potatoes -one with white thick gravy on the potatoes, and the other potatoes had watered milky substance on them. The entire time we are listening to the staff discussing splitting their tips - stomach is still unsettled. Another visit? No thank you.

Breakfast was awesome, chicken fried steak, eggs and hash browns. Biscuits were lacking, dry, choking, hard to swallow and did not taste like Good ole southern biscuits. If it werent for the biscuits you would have got a 5. I know you guys can come up with a better biscuit than that recipe!!!!

This was the second time here, different location. Service was great, not as attentive after they served the food. But when we paid they were overly friendly. The food was good for dinner, the last time was breakfast. Get the huckleberry lemonade, yum it was to die for.

This one is in Chandler and in my opinion better than the one in Gilbert. Easy simple diner menu made right. Great place. I had the meatloaf dinner.

I ordered the chicken and waffles which came cheese and bacon grits.The description stated it would be 3 chicken strips. I got 2 strips which were cut in half and they forgot my grits.The waitress quickly corrected the mistake.Im not sure if the restaurant us cutting corners on purpose oe if it was a mishap.Thats why I gave 4 stars.

Great late lunch today. Bears Choice and classic Eggs Benedict were really good. Some other folks at our table had sandwiches and a salad. Everyone agreed their dish was yummy. Wish we had room for dessert. Staff was pleasant and really cool as our son was restless and walking around throughout the restaurant. Portions were huge so be prepared to take food home.

My wife and I used to go gambling in Lauglin mainly so we could hit the Black Bear Diner in Bullhead City. Weve been there MANY times. When we saw that they opened this place years ago near us we were THRILLED! Talk about a blessing.When it comes to going out for breakfast, the first two places that come to mind are Black Bear Diner and Bisbee Breakfast Club. Black Bear is closer to us so it usually wins out. No mater what kind of breakfast food you love they make it here. Ive never had a bad meal here that I can remember, and if I ever did they probably took care of it.Weve always had excellent servers. The staff has always been friendly and happy. The restrooms are always clean. The prices have always been reasonable.We both love to bring friends here, and we return every month or two. So its a definite no-brainer recommendation.

This location used to be great. The last 3 or 4 times we have been, there has been at least one issue. Today we were there for lunch. It was busy but to be expected on a Saturday. Our waitress Sandy was very kind and she took our order right away.After about 25 minutes, I asked our waitress to check on our food. She came back with my cheeseburger and fries and told me that they had forgotten about my sons order of pancakes and that the cook was making them now. My food had been sitting under the warmer for who knows how long. She asked if I wanted my order remade but I declined because I had already waited 30 minutes.She alerted the manager and he gave me an excuse of a larger table ahead of us. That was very unprofessional by the way. Another manager came over and told me she was sorry and that she took my $10 order off of the ticket. Our waitress tried to get the whole ticket comped but she was told no. Its just really sad that they we unwilling to comp a 30 dollar ticket when the whole dining experience was unsatisfactory. I ate half of my soggy burger and left hungry.No table, large or small should be more important than the other. The patrons are what keep your business going. Hopefully you remember that. Now you have a negative review when it could have easily been made into a positive.

The service and food are excellent. Ill continue to patronize this establishment. I like the atmosphere and the people here.

What can I say about Black Bear restaurant arrived at 6:00 a.m. waitress hostess were all very nice the food was excellent biscuits and gravy $0.99 a big omelettes with potatoes and biscuits and gravy oh my very satisfied will definitely make that one of my main breakfast spots other than my cooking of course but when I go out for breakfast I know where to go fresh friendly nice place to eat breakfast

What a great place for a delicious breakfast. Had many options for big eaters to light eaters. Food was served fast and the plate was full. Best extra crispy hash browns, in my opinion. One of those meals where you leave “fully” satisfied. Come like a bear out of hibernation to ensure you can clear your plate!! Can’t wait to bring the family back to try more!

I go here because the people that have worked there for years make me feel like family. Unfortunately its been losing that vibe so I go in less and less.

I have been here multiple times. Every time has been excellent. Even if an order is not correct the staff has always been kind and understanding. They quickly make things right. They are constantly cleaning and conscious about the safety of all.Keep up the great work

It should honestly be a 4 star rating because I feel like their set up for delivery (which is just a wire rack up front) is a little lacking. If your order isnt up there, and you dont physically make yourself known that youre there for delivery, theyll avoid eye contact for the most part, although that may simply be that theyre all far away in the dining area and the rack is all the way up front.Regardless, good food and friendly always.

Seriously understaffed, it was almost completely empty and we had a 20+ minute wait just to get seated let alone get food.

Good food and great service. We had a short wait before we were seated. The restaurant was clean and I saw they people sanitizing after each table left. They are following the covid 19 safety guidelines as well. Prices are reasonable and you get a lot of food.

Had this been my first time at Black Bear I wouldnt return. Service was slow. When the meal did show up it was no longer hot. Meat was warm at best. Very disappointed. Wont rush back.

I frequent this location since its a great place to get breakfast, either for dine-in or to-go. Had a really bad experience recently and left a review explaining what happened, but management responded promptly and reached out to me personally, which is beyond what I expected. Has been a while since I have gone but overall the meal was great and the service was awesome. Was checked on to make sure we had everything needed.I ordered the new chorizo burrito, excellent and delicious.Hopefully to continue to go to other locations again.

On wednesday 3/24/21 I thought I had lost my phone, my girlfriend and I had been out to blackbear for breakfast (chicken fried steak & eggs=Deliciousness) that morning so I called the diner to see if maybe I had left it behind. Sure enough my server had found it and reassured me that he would gladly hold it until I could return. Thank you sir, so very much!
