We have been going here for 11 years and never had a bad experience. They are the most honest repair shop out there. They take the necessary time to determine any issues and narrow down the most appropriate and affordable course to fix it. They go out of their way to ensure they do only what is necessary to fix any issues and will not overcharge you or add on items to drive up the bill. We also have a diesel truck that we have had to take elsewhere (they dont work on diesels) and tried multiple shops in the East valley and never get a good outcome as we have at Highland. Everyone there treats your car like their own! Thank you Highland for such wonderful and honest service, all the time!!

I’m a new resident to Arizona and was looking for a honest, reputable auto repair shop after encountering a mechanic that misdiagnosed my car issue and quoted me over $1000 to repair. Highland repaired my vehicle for $150! Same day service! Needless to say, I found that honest, reputable shop and they did a AWESOME JOB!! Toni and the other Mechanic are very knowledgeable, helpful and friendly. (Irrelevant Side Note: the shop was one of the cleanest privately owned shops I’ve seen in a while LOL) I would highly recommend anyone with car trouble, give them a try!

Virgil, the owner, is an incredibly fair and honest man. He brings integrity to the auto repair business. My parents had recommended Highland Auto to me on his account, but it was not until this week that I understood why they trusted him so much. Just the other day, I approached him about a water pump (and belt) that broke for the second time just 15 months after they had replaced it. I didnt notice until 3 months later, and I showed Virgil my two receipts. He dealt with the situation very graciously and fairly.Although he and his son (a co-manager) are men of few words, they speak with their actions, which is infinitely better. I am wearied by car repair centers where the managers talk a good talk (like the business men they are) but do not follow through with actions that help me, their customer. Virgil and his son do not have silver tongues; I appreciate their straightforwardness that speaks through their actions and decisions (not the comforting/manipulative dressing that other repairmen put on actions that hurt their customers pockets).Though their prices are not tremendously low, they have terrifically fair policies and they put their name behind their work (hold themselves accountable). Brought a used car in to have it looked at before purchasing. They did a very thorough test drive and inspection and found several issues that would have made the purchase a disaster for me. The price was very affordable and they even offered me a better deal if I brought another car in. I ended up not needing to do that, but Ill definitely be bringing my own car in.

These guys are amazing! They are pretty far away for me, but I am constantly disappointed by the bigger operations (Napa, sun devil) and always end up kicking myself for not making the drive in the first place! They are crazy honest in a world where most would take advantage of others. Proud to call these guys my mechanics!

Best mechanic experience Ive ever had. Always a good price and great work. I had a carrier bearing go out. One shop wanted over 800 just to replace the bearing. I waited and the problem got worse. Took it here they replaced the bearing AND rebuilt the whole driveshaft for just over 600. And on time. My aunt took her car here cause it was overheating. There was air in the system. They fixed it and didnt charge her anything. Awesome place.

Virgil has always done an honest on for us. Went about and beyond to check my oil and brakes for me when he knew I was headed out of town. They have always taken care of us !

We have taken a few of our families vehicles here and have always had a good experience. They have even gone so far as to try to find less expensive parts for our vehicles when it was a costly repair. When repairing my volvo, Virgil told us to just buy a new car because if he fixed the problem there were going to still be other things to fix. Instead of taking our money, he helped us and saved us thousands of dollars. They are not great about calling when they say they will and you have to call to find out the status of your vehicle. Its a minor convenience, but Ive next met a more honest garage.

Beyond Happy...It was several years ago that I went to highland auto for my first repair. I have been a customer ever since. I was recommended by my Father-in-law who had been taking his automobiles there for years.I was certain there was a problem with my car, sure enough it was not a minor problem. I had blown a head on the motor and was going to need to get the engine rebuilt or just buy a new engine. This was my fault because I was 20 yrs old and tried some work under the hood (big mistake). Anyways I dried up all the seals in the top of the engine.Virgil and his crew put several hours into my car to isolate the problem (taking off the heads to look at everything, and much more). Remember it was a long time ago so i do not remember all the exact details of what was wrong with the car. All i know is that it needed a new engine or to be rebuilt (as already stated).Virgil told me that he had to put a few quarts of oil to try and find the problem.He saw that I was 20 years old and just lost my only transportation. He cut a bargain with me that has kept me a customer ever since. He told me to just pay for the cost of the oil and a part they tried to use ($55). Here I was thinking I was going to owe them $300+ and walk away with a useless car. Instead I was able to walk away knowing that I can trust him on everything.I trust Virgil and his crew with ALL my cars.

Virgil and his crew are the nicest folks. Honest guy never over charges. My first repair I took my car to other shops for prices and got quoted double the price and they tried to add stuff. I took what they said to Virgil he said thats not needed, no thats crazy and you only need this for this price and labor. He will seem like a cranky guy but he has a very kind heart and does good work in a very timely manner. I always recommend Highland Auto cause even if the price might seem high you know its needed and youre not getting ripped off. Dont believe me get 2 other quotes before going here and you will see why I trust Virgil over everyone else

After the first few times getting higher comparative quotes, I simply dont bother wasting my time any more. Their integrity is above reproach.When my last car gasped its last, I bought my current car from Virgil. Ive referred at least 4 people whove reported back to me with Thanks!, and great reports of satisfaction. New in Town and called Highland looking for a place I could have oil change and misc auto repairs. Should have taken the attitude of the employee answering the phone as a sign of things to come, but ignopred my intiution and went ahead and took my car there for an oil change. $70.00 for an oil change? Are you kidding me? $70.00 dollars. RIP-OFF. Also changed my air filter ($20.00) without asking. Will nto go back as this place is a robbers roost. Be warned!!!

Great price quick repair

Car taken to shop to repair flywheel which was damaged by bad starter motor. Flywheel replaced but starter wasnt. Starter still bad and had to go back to be replaced. It could have been replaced all at once, eliminating need for labor to remove starter twice. Double charged on labor to remove starter, not happy at all, will not be going back.

They kept my car for a week. Told me it would be done the day I dropped it off but didnt get back to me about it until two days later. They then stated, we are waiting for vendors and after two more days I just went and picked it up from them. I took it to Lemies Auto Repair and they had it done later that day.
