I have been to and worked with American Medical Sales a few times and they have always been reliable and very helpful. Nick in particular is always happy to help and very friendly. I would recommend them to anyone who was in need of oxygen supplies without hesitation. Thanks for the help guys!
I would not recommend this company to others. I had my two elderly parents (one under hospice care) that I needed to escort from the East Coast to San Francisco. We needed to rent a Portable O2 concentrator on short notice with batteries. This company was identified by the Hospice Agency in Maryland. The contract states that you may buy insurance for shipping on your own and are responsible for damages. I paid for overnight shipping rates in order to get the equipment from Colorado to Maryland in order to test the equipment. We used it on the flight and I returned it to a Pack and Ship in San Francisco and used their pre-paid UPS label to return the concentrator. I got a call from them that they would be charging my credit card for a damaged battery. I asked that the manager call me to discuss. Instead, I got a certified letter that my credit card had already been charged and that they had invoiced me. I called them to discuss which lead no where. After discussing with the Pack and Ship in San Francisco, they say that when you do a pre-pay shipping label, you must declare a value and can buy insurance. If I wanted to buy my own insurance, I would not have been able to use their pre-pay label. They main issue I tried to convey to them was that that have a bad process in place for their patients/customers. They ship this stuff all the time. This is a once in a lifetime event for me and many. I didnt deny my responsibility, however they should insure and charge up front or not use the pre-pay labels. They were inflexible and not sympathetic. I did not dispute the items being damaged but did not see any damage when it left SF, and I had them professionally shipped back. Just an overall bad experience, surprise charges before the issue was fully discussed, and lack of listening. We paid $1300 for this event + another $200 for a broken battery. This was my ignorance on this activity due to a medical emergency with elderly people. If you have an alternative besides American Medical Sales and Repair I suggest you take it.
