Dr. Link was so helpful when I called as a colleague (speech-langauge pathologist) inquiring about area resources for one of my students. She was one of the few, of my 20 phone calls (not joking), who provided helpful information! As a colleague she is knowledgeable, helpful, and caring. Im sure she is all of those things and more with her patients! Thank you Dr. Link!

What an amazing doctor - knowledgeable, caring and generous with her time. I felt like I had all the important information I needed to properly care for my hearing while singing professionally with my band. Its only been a few hours since I left and have already recommended Dr Julie and The Audiology METHOD to the musicians in my band, my 81-year old mother in law and all my facebook friends. Thanks Dr. Julie and Tess for everything!

I ride motorcycles and wanted to share my experience, and hopefully offer solutions you may not have known existed. It is audio drivers inserted into custom earmolds!!The ear molds have Breaker vents installed as well so you can talk to someone, if your music is turned down that is!!More importantly they allow you to hear emergency vehicles. In the last 30 days I have logged 6000 miles on my motorcycle. I have a communication device on the side of the helmet that allows me to talk to another rider or passengers or both! When Im out of the city I enjoy listening to music through the same device. Problem is, the helmet is designed with air vents. And the vents combined with highway speed wind noise, even with a full faced helmet and shield is roaring in your ears.Trying to turn the comm device to max to compete with the wind is foolhardy! although ashamedly, Ive done it too many times. I then started wearing the foam earplugs. That worked well enough for the wind, but now I was compensating by turning up the comm to max just to get the essence of the song over the noise! All for hours on end.My riding friend is in denial, but I have noticed him struggle with his hearing as of late.Thats when I sought the expertise of the internet and found, On a Saturday morning, an informative website,THE AUDIOLOGY METHOD, that allowed me to choose my own appointment time for my chosen appointment day! I set an appointment, received a confirmation, and a reminder with directions on the day of my appointment. I LOVE THAT!Meeting Dr. Julie was a delight! She was personable, like sitting with a friend over coffee. I relayed the story of my hearing concerns to herand mentioned a product, (the plugphones!!) I was interested in, providing the product met the doctors approval. Doctor Julie checked my ears, cleared a wax blockage, in the right ear, then made impressions of the left and right ear.Doctor Julie educated herself on the plugphones, contacted the lab with my order, ordered it for me, and saved me money in the process! When the new custom plug phones came in, The doctor checked fitment, and made corrections to ensure the PERFECT FIT!! Doctor Julie instructed me how to insert and remove them too! Finally, I can listen to conversation, just over whisper loud, at 70 mph! SCORE!

I highly recommend Dr. Julie Link/The Audiology Method for your audiologist needs.I have known her for several months now. After suffering from steadily deteriorating hearing loss for nearly 30 years, I finally made the decision to investigate the possibility of a cochlear implant.I had only a vague idea of what might be involved.Beginning with our initial appointment she has been extremely informative, patient, encouraging and caring. The testing (and her explanations) she provided was extensive and thorough.Discussing and following her recommendations has resulted in a successful implant and hearing progression.Everything she told me to expect from this procedure was “spot on”.I am now actively participating in conversations with my family and business associates that I had been avoiding/limiting for several years.Julie continues to encourage me and enhance my hearing with training and software adjustments.I (and my wife!) could not be happier with the results!

Dr. Julie Link, Au.D. was definitely the missing link I was searching to find. I had terrible tinnitus when I made an appointment with her. She took the time to explain how the ears work, and she examined my ears extensively. Dr. Julie then gave me a course of action to learn how to deal with the affliction and hopefully correct it over time. Dr. Julies expertise helped me so much, and sure enough the tinnitus is now gone. Thank you Dr. Julie for all your help and professionalism. I hope others find you in their journey with tinnitus. I have worked with Dr. Julie for quite a few years. As a technical person I like all the tools that are available to measure hearing loss, and the technology that allows me hear. Dr. Julie is a master at determining what is going on. Most recently, my high frequency hearing was found to be a problem. Changes were made, and I was cautioned that this might be a shock . I responded that I was heading to Best Buy next. A kind salesperson at Best Buy set up a demonstration for me. I requested violins. The result was like eating candy. I had been missing these sounds, and I am now hearing them. Highly recommend Dr. Julie.

My recent visit to The Audiology Method was outstanding in every way. Dr. Julie is incredible. From the moment I walked into her office, she made me feel completely welcome. She is a very warm, generous person who takes the time to get to know her patients and their specific needs. I was never rushed or made to feel like the problems I was facing were insignificant or only in my head (a situation Ive sometimes faced with other doctors in the past). Not only did she work with me in providing a solution that would meet my needs, she also spent time educating me on various aspects of audiology that would benefit me in the future. Just a remarkably kind, intelligent and competent doctor, and my audiological problems have greatly improved since my visit to her. I wont be going anywhere else in the future.

I struggled for years with hearing loss and trying to work and do my job and not being able to understand face to face conversations, phone calls, etc. Often I would get only part of conversation. Therefore, I compensated by requesting a follow-up email or instant messaging/ text to help me perform and completing tasks at work. I was stressed many times while in a meeting or conversation trying to capture all that was being communicated to me knowing that “action and follow up items” were being assigned to me to complete. My personal life, social events were difficult as I struggled to hear what was being said to me. Often times, the my children or another person would revert back to and mention something that they had communicated to me in person and I would not know what they were talking about since I did not hear the entire conversation. I was often too embarrassed to often ask others to repeat what they had just said. Thus, would raise a question with them also about my memory. This was more embarrassing as time went on. I finally had to face reality that this was an issue I needed to accept and find a solution. In seeing Dr. Julie Link for the first visit (found through a YELP search for audiologists, based on reviews and location) we were able to discuss my concerns and needs prior to my hearing test she conducted. The extensive testing was performed in a sound proof booth/room covering all aspects: tones, conversation, background noise, etc.Upon completion of the testing she reviewed my results at length and shared information also about how my thyroid condition (diagnosed in 1985) had also more than likely contributed to my hearing loss over time. Dr. Julie discussed work, personal, and hobbies in determining what type of hearing aids would work best with my life style and hearing loss prior to ordering to best fit my needs.Wearing hearing aids and being able to hear has helped build confidence in my working environment as well as with personal relationships and attending social eventsIn my awareness of what I have experienced and others who also deal with hearing loss, I have come to accept this as not being associated with just an “old people” issue.I also have an awareness of so many other people that I meet or engage in conversation with that they too are struggling with a hearing loss that has not been addressed. I feel empathy for them and have at times been able to share my story if deemed fitting. We as society accept poor vision, dental issues and other medical issues as “normal” and don’t hesitate to address these issues but often times ignore or “accept” hearing loss as “normal” based on the aging process. I would only hope that anyone experiencing hearing loss would also take responsibility and be proactive in addressing the issue/need by entertaining options to improve their quality of life.Every step of the process was fantastic and I highly recommend Dr. Julie Link at the Audiology Method! First theres the friendliness and care that was shown to me by Dr. Julie. Then there was the patience that Dr. Julie had with me as I had questions, concerns and adjustments - time and time again. She always made me feel that my concerns were valid and would find adjustments to help me.

I couldnt see myself needing a hearing test in my early 30s, but I am so glad I went. She was able to explain the sources of me missing conversations and even the anxiety that would become debilitating in so many situations.I am really looking forward to utilizing the tools she gave me to take back control. My visit was the first time I’d ever been to an audiologist. I needed my ears clean from 23 years of using Qtips. Water would stay trapped in my ears and I thought that was the extent of it, but after having the wax removed, there was a big relief of pressure in my head that I hadn’t noticed until it wasn’t there. I could hear the subtleties of song lyrics better, but the pressure relief was the most prominent difference. Now that I’ve had it done I’ve suggested to family and coworkers that describe some of the issues I’ve had. Definitely 110% worth every bit.👍🏼👍🏼

I was referred to Dr. Julie and Audiology Methods by my vestibular therapist, Frannie Westlake. At the time, I was working with another audiologist for tinnitus and complete hearing loss in my right ear and diminished hearing in my left ear. Although the other audiologist was sympathetic to my hearing loss and adapting to the new changes, they offered only one solution in a hearing device and did not seem to have any other options for my new found condition.I decided to seek a second opinion and made an appointment to meet with Dr. Julie and go through a new evaluation and hearing test. Our initial meeting was supposed to last an hour, but turned into a 2-hour session with lots of questions about work and home life, interests and hobbies. During our meeting Dr. Julie offered suggestions, changes in lifestyle with feedback and encouragement on what would be the next journey in my life and adapting to a new lifestyle. We covered a lot of material and had numerous device fittings and adjustments. I was a bit overwhelmed after our first meeting, but knew I was in good and competent hands with Dr. Julie who is very compassionate about her craft, all of her patients and finding the best solution to our individual needs and hearing loss. From that initial meeting we determined the best device type I would be using and a game plan for future visits, adapting to the technology/hearing and a new journey. It has been almost a year since our first meeting and I am looking forward to our one-year follow-up, in sharing with Dr. Julie on what has worked this past year and with things I continue to struggle with.Russell P

At 31 years old, I didn’t think that I would need to get my hearing tested, but I am happy that I found Dr. Julie Link to help me out. To tell you a little about my story and issues I was having, I am a pilot of a major airline based out of Denver international. I have been a pilot for 12 years, and I have been around a lot of loud noise and have done my best to wear ear protection. The issue I have been having had to do with what we call the “walkaround.” Before and after a flight, I have to do a visual inspection of the aircraft exterior. It’s a deafening environment outside the aircraft. To try and block the noise, I would use foam earplugs or stick my fingers in my ears, and it seemed to work just fine.In the last year, I started a new job that has me in and around bigger and louder airplanes. After about six months, I was beginning to notice a few changes. I was starting to get ringing in my ears at night after flying all day. It was also getting a little harder to hear my wife talking to me when we would go out to dinner. It was time to speak to someone about the issues I was having. After doing a google search, I found Dr. Julie Link and set up an appointment to see her. I am so happy I found her. Had I not seen Dr. Link; I would have had severe hearing issues in my future after she ran a few tests and looked in my ears. She discovered that my ear canals were not able to able to create a proper seal with foam earplugs. It was also described to me the reason why I was hearing ringing in my ears after work and gave me tips to alleviate that. At the end of all my tests, she took some molds of my ears so I could get some custom earplugs. I also went home with some tips and a custom plan on how to preserve my hearing. I now have a plan in place that has eliminated the ringing in my ears, a more enjoyable dinner with my wife, and a quieter “walkaround.” I have had the privilege of flying with lots of pilots in my career. There are two things that I have noticed. One is that pilots my age or younger are not taking care of their hearing health. And secondly is that those pilots who are older than me are close to deaf. My time at the Audiology Method was affordable and very educational.I look forward to my future appointments with Dr. Link.

To provide a “review” of Dr. Julie Link, I must describe by journey to her.Like many in their later years but with a mind in my 40’s, I was slow to accept I needed hearing assistance. Frankly, the idea of going to a professional who made their livelihood by diagnosing the need for devices which the professional would then sell was a process I felt was ripe for fraud or quackery. My parents (now deceased) both had hearing aids and I was aware of some positives and lots of negatives. Nonetheless, I tipoed into the waters by finding Dr. Cliff Olsen of Arizona on YouTube who gave seemingly straightforward information and provided advice on what to look for in a hearing professional. I even inquired about traveling from Colorado to Arizona to see Dr. Olsen. This was prior to his present practice of having preferred providers who he recommends, presumably at a fee.In the midst of my investigation and probably to help avoid reality, I took the free trial and subsequently purchased the Eargo model of online almost hearing aids. I used the Eargo model for about a year and decided to get a bit more serioius about seeking professional advice and went to Costco for a test. Costco was a good experience. I was shown alternatives, provided a “test drive” of in ear and behind ear models. And provided the printed results of the test. Costco was not hardsellAfter Costo, I continued with my Eargo’s I was generally pleased but wanted a full assessment and found Dr. Julie Link.Half-expecting a sales experience, Dr. Link was not that. She conducted an interview with me, examined my Costco results and conducted a more intensive hearing test. She did a test of my Eargo aids. She advised me that I could get along with the Eargo’s and there was no immediate need to go beyond them. But, she said, hearing aids would provide a range of hearing that Eargo’s do not provide (which even Eargo admits) and would help me not devolve hearing-wise.I was up front with her and let her know my vanity and some problems my father had caused me to want to avoid behind the ear. Although she recommended behind the ear as the best fit for me, she found a model that she recommended. I set up an appointment for a molding fitting and ordered an in the ear device. When it arrived, Dr. Link spent over an hour with me tweaking it using real ear measurement which is absolutely essential. She let me leave with the levels at 80 per cent to acclimate me. A month later it was increased to a hundred percent. I went back for a follow up and have a six month assessment scheduled.Dr. Link is not a used car – or a hearing aid -- salesperson. She is very professional. Listens to you. Makes recommendations but lets you decide. She takes the time you need and answers all your questions. She knows what she is doing. Perhaps I was not as needy as some due to the Eargo experience but I sense she will be as patient with you as you need.I highly recommend her. I am not sure I would have made the step beyond Eargo if it were not for her. I am very glad I did.A suggestion if you are serious, experiment with Eargo (they have a 30 day free trial) and either keep them or go with the pro. Frankly, I would have been better off and not out 2000.00 if I had directly gone to Dr. Link, but all in all, I think my journey was okay. Eargo served its purpose but its time was at an end. Thanks to Dr. Link and her professionalism.A definite thumbs up.

This may be the second best decision I have made in my life! This is absolutely the best place to go if you have hearing problems. I have worn hearing aids for nearly 30 years. I got my aids from four different establishments. My hearing got so bad that I began classes for American Sign Language so I could communicate with my family and friends. I was convinced that my hearing had deteriorated nearly to the point of deafness. In any location where there was even a moderate amount of background noise I was functionally deaf even with the 3 -4 year-old hearing aids I had.I thought I would make one last try before giving up entirely on hearing aids. Dr. Julie Link tested me, talked to my wife and daughter about my problem, and discussed very carefully with me what I was hoping for. The results far surpassed my wildest hopes. With my new hearing aids I can carry on conversations in loud restaurants, understand the low talkers in meetings at work, and watch TV shows without the distraction of subtitles. On the way to my first appointment my radio volume was set at 9 and I only understood about 75 percent of the conversations (talk radio, mostly). On the way home with my new hearing aids I lowered the volume to 3 and I could understand everything that was said even with the noise from having the windows down and driving in heavy traffic.By the way, my best decision was marrying my wife, Debbie.

As a musician and great lover of music, my hearing is very important to me. For the longest time I did not think that I was causing any damage to my hearing through music, but over the past few years I have noticed some of my sensitivity start to wane. I decided it was time to see where I was exactly at and went for a visit with Dr. Link. While the apparent damage I had done was alarming, Dr. Link helped me to establish a baseline of hearing, and a method for tracking future hearing loss. Furthermore, she helped me with a game plan to stave off future hearing loss, and measures to take to avoid prolonged exposure to unhealthy volumes of music. At 30 years old, I feel confident that, with Dr. Links help, I can maintain a healthy level of hearing until Im 90. Thank you Dr. Link! I look forward to our next visit.
