Beautiful. Well kept. Hard to get a tee time though. Very difficult greens, but fun.
Love the course as each hole is different as far as strategy. Good challenges. The greens were not as fast as normal but I believe the amount of rain we have had, had an influence. Cant wait till they get fast again.
I have grown up playing at this course and I still love it. There is nothing better than playing 18 holes and finish the day/evening at the club house for a wonderful meal. The food is insanely awesome and the staff is amazing.
Nice course. Not the easiest with its challenging greens. Course in good shape. Very nice people in the pro shop. Very good restaurant.
Would have been better had I known they had recently aerated.
Really enjoyed this course, just wish there was a ranger out today to make sure ppl were keeping good pace as the folks in front of us were really slow and round was over 5 hrs.
Awesome service great owner so much fun. He needs to train other owners and servers around the area because this is hands down the best service I’ve received since covid started.
Course was in good shape. Played in under 4 hours. The pro shop and club house are nice and clean. Only complaint would be that it is impossible to get a tee time. Will be back.
The course was great. Great with a group of people to enjoy a great course on a beautiful morning
Just hit on driving range. Had lunch. Very good.
Great place to hit some balls or play a round.
This place is on on point for the end of March. Hats off to the green crew Ive played three other golf courses already this year nothing has been this nice. You and the team are ahead of the game cant wait to come back next week.
More fun than a non golfer should have! Just do yourself a favor and don’t go with someone that is serious about golf. It ruins the experience.
Very nice well spread out course well maintained back 9 surprise when you have to tread thru 5 inches of running water walkers beware
The course is closed and no notifications have went out. When I showed up the guy at the counter claimed they can’t call everyone on the tee sheet. Weird, every other course can. Course voicemail wasn’t updated to say closed and can still book online. I get the closure, but really poorly handled.Update: you did neither on this day. I called several times that morning and received no email until well after my tee time and review. Own it.
Great course. Hard to get a tee time.
Plenty of room at the driving range.
I play SSGC almost 1x per week; its my home course. The facility and grounds are phenomenal. The only reason I gave it 4 stars versus 5 is due to some of the greens being damn near impossible to stop a putt from rolling off. If you are a good putter, this course will make you question that. Other than that, its the best course in Centennial.
This is a great golf course. The club house is clean, modern and the people are very helpful and friendly. The golf course is in great shape and has many contours with creeks, lakes, hills and beautiful deep grass areas. The greens have a lot of slope and are pretty fast.
There had to be cancellations on the morning of June 26th, 2021.
Clean course and Players manner. Overall everything is good. But my GPS golf watch does not fit with actual course. I heard they revised course formation. Old No.1 tee is No.10 tee now. Greens are not easy for beginner.
They told us when we got there that they were running atleast an hour behind and we would be lucky to tee off even then. They didnt notify any delays or notify any golfers until you got there. They also said we had to “pay full price and they would be happy to give our tee time to someone else.” Completely unprofessional. Would not recommend golfing here.
Played the Par three course. Beautiful setting, nice big trees and a gentle roll to the course. A wonderful place for a beginner to learn golf.
Awesome public course! Great staff. Restaurant is great too!
Visited on a Friday night and there was a small band playing on the patio. Basic menu but food was good. Pricing is reasonable. The layout of the clubhouse is very nice. Appreciate everything that they are doing. Plan on bringing friends here for lunch to see a nice course near the house.
Please add some restrooms on the course 1 is not enough!
Played the Par 3 today. Course was in great shape. The 19th hole was open so we enjoyed a beer after the round.
I have played at South Suburban on and off for the 2+ years I have lived in Denver. In general they have good prices, the course is usually in pretty good shape, and the guys behind the clubhouse are friendly.Obviously since COVID everyone has different protocols for the golf courses. I have been playing golf plenty since COVID started and do my best to follow whatever rules the course has in place.Recently it has become clear that South Suburban has some issues with their system. I went into the clubhouse and paid for my tee time without issue. The gentleman was very kind and asked if I wanted a receipt. I said I was okay to avoid exchanging any unnecessary points of contact. He told me to have a good round. My group goes up to the tee 4 min before our tee time when there was nobody else there. The group ahead was on the green and finishing up. As we are getting ready this lady from the regulation tee box comes up and asks for our receipts. I dont have one because I did not get it from the clubhouse and she makes a comment about no proof. Uh, if this is the protocol, why does the clubhouse not just always give you a receipt and notify you that they will check it?She then says in a very rude tone, Guess you guys didnt see the sign saying wait until your tee time is called to come up to the box. Crazy how many people dont pay attention to that.Okay, let me get this straight: I come here to give you guys business and play a friendly round. I follow all the visible rules, wear a mask, pay for my round, and I receive no directions. Why did the clubhouse not explicitly say, please wait to head to the box until we call you.? Is that so hard? Then why do you need to be a very rude and unpleasant person about it when we have followed everything and came when our tee time was minutes away and no one is on the box?Soured us pretty hard. I am sympathetic to people needing to work during COVID and I take a lot of pride in how easy I am to work with as a customer. But this attitude and treatment is just not something I need to be dealing with. I will likely avoid South Suburban for a while.A feel a 3 star review is generous given this one negative interaction and the course is typically in good shape.
Just experienced the driving range and eat at the club house. Overall great experience
Love this course !
Very nice course
Relatively short course that allows for interesting course management decisions. Greens are diabolical so make sure to keep your approach shots below the hole.
Good prices great course love to play here
Long time player of the course
South Suburban Golf Course is my home course, but please read my comments as an unbiased review. Ive played a lot of public courses and country clubs over the past 25 years. You will be hard-pressed to find a public course that has fairways and greens in this good of condition. There is an 18-hole regulation course and a Par 3 9-hole course. Both are in exceptional condition for most of the late spring, all of summer, and most of the fall. The people working there are professional and polite. My ONLY reason for the 4 stars instead of 5 has to do with the greens. Dont get me wrong, the condition of the grass is impeccable. But the way a lot of the greens slope and, many times, where the pins are placed, make this course unreasonably more difficult. Look, I like a challenge just like anyone else. The key word in my description of the greens is unreasonably. Often times the pin placements are on a slope that you wouldnt even see on a ridiculously challenging putt-putt course. I digress. Its a very fun course to play and the condition of the landscape is awesome. They grounds crew does a fantastic job. And hey, your putting will be out-of-this-world good if you play here and then play somewhere else. Enjoy!
Overall good experience. Few minor issues, staff were a little rude/ entitled. Also who doesn’t label a 9th hole? I got lost trying to find it. Ended up looking all over for a unlabeled 9th hole.
11 dollars will get you about a hundred pratice balls on the driving range. Very nice place inside. Pro shop has all kinds of stuff. Even the bar and restaurant has fair prices
Great golf ⛳
I love the par 3 course out at South Suburban; its well kept, great for beginners, and super cheap. During the week its only $13 for 9 holes, and there is a coupon on the South Suburban Parks and Rec website for buy one-get one free greens fees, so you and a friend can play 9 holes for under $7 each! You will not find anything cheaper, and the course is very nice considering the price.Highly Recommend!
The course is in great shape. Love the new carts.
This is easily the worst golf course Ive played in Colorado. The pins were ALL roughly 3-6 yards from the edge of the green. Didnt see a cart girl til hole 9. Wont play here again. There are literally hundreds of better options in the Denver area.
I have had nothing but a wonderful experience at this course. From the starters and golf shop staff everyone has been friendly and accommodates changes to our party including my young niece and nephew. The restaurant is great and staff friendly and I enjoy breakfast before starting out. It is a nice course with great scenery and challenges. I voted to add funding to do some remodeling to improve the clubhouse and look forward to the face lift!
I played the Par 3 course a few times and it seems like it is kept in pretty good condition. The clubhouse is currently under construction, so their clubhouse is temporarily in a trailer. There is a decent size putting green and a driving range.
If you are looking for a reasonably priced course with challenging greens and good to excellent conditions (tee to green) this is a great option. the burb isnt going to blow your socks off aesthetically but it will challenge you. Hint - if your above the hole all day I guarantee your not writing a glowing review:)
South Suburban is in great shape for the number of people that play it and the unpredictable weather. I really appreciate the clubhouse staff who are kind and professional. A gem of a municipal course.
It was wonderful
Ive played South Suburban a number of times. The staff is always helpful and unpretentious. The course is in very good shape - both the regulation and Par 3 courses. Great value for the price.
Honestly they are not customer service focused. I have the green saver book and they are just outright not honoring this rate during the week right now.Worst business model ever. They are busy. There is no reason they should offer this rate as I bought this in advance prior to COVID.
Excellent food at a fair price
Golf course is Nice, but BEWARE.. the new restaurant will change your tip amount!! Keep your receipts. I made a simple purchase of a breakfast burrito, tipped in cash. Checked my account the next day and was overcharged 2$. Not a big deal, but Bad business.
Consistently my favorite course near home. The Burb has got it all!!! Wonderful place for all ages and skill levels! I ounce shot a 29 on the front nine in league play. Ha! Enjoy, and have Fun!!!
The new club house looks great... must be why they are charging $66 in February... Could’ve at least cleared the snow around the greens out.
Greens and sand traps are brutal.Course is gorgeous, and challenging. The new clubhouse is very well done, with good service and good food.
Great round of golf.
Super fun casual course.
90+ degrees and they pull the beverage cart on the back nine of a packed course. Thought I was gonna die from the heat. BAD decision
Second time Ive ever played golf was at this course and I loved the Par 3! Very fun, cant wait to go back.
Always great
Im used to playing on private and country club courses so I was very surprised at the quality of this muni-course and had a WONDERFUL time. Will definitely be back.
Par 3 course is fun, and for a good price especially if you have a resident card. The old guy in the pro shop about came unglued because my buddy was wearing a sleeveless shirt today. He threw some insults his way, which we thought were a joke, and later realized werent. Is there a dress code? Ever gonna do anything with the bunker/mud pit on the 8th hole of the par 3, or is it a retention pond? Played tons of courses around the state including Roaring Fork Club, Air Force Academy, etc. and havent received any lip like this public course dished out today. Will likely go elsewhere next time. Stay humble pro shop people.
Fairways a little shaggy but great track! Greens a little slower than usual so made it more reasonable.
Made an online reservation. Nothing anywhere showed them being closed when I did so. I called to verify, and then was told, in a super snarky tone while he was laughing at me, that they are CLOSED. I then said that my reservation is a couple of days away and the weather is supposed to be really nice so I figured what the hey, Ill book a tee time. The guy then laughed at me again and said theres no way in hell the course will be open. Im glad I called, otherwise myself and 3 of my buddies would have showed up and the course would have been CLOSED, and we would have not been happy. The dude was very rude, and UPDATE YOUR ONLINE RESERVATION AREA IF YOU ARE CLOSED, or if you are expecting the course to be CLOSED!!! Then, when I asked if he knew of any other courses that might be open, he laughed at me again. Talk about customer service........ Grrrrr!#DisgruntledDenverGolfer
Always play great golf here and enjoy it.
The recently re designed par 3 is great. The only problem i had, the lawn mower person ran over my Voltik Vivid ball with his lawn mower and instead of a sorry or a ball that would compensate my now shreded voltik, the guy at the front in the pro shop gives me a sleeve from the basket on the ground of $3 a sleeve Srixon.. Not good form. Not good at all in the club house.
Not an overly difficulty course, but the greens were a challenge. Like other golfers, Id rather have challenging fast greens than slow boring ones. Lots of undulations on the greens too, youll often aim three to four feet left or right of the hole. Friendly staff.
OK, seen better probably wont be coming back.
Good quick, cheap par 3 course
Very good experience. Love the clubhouse and restaurant!
I play SS all the time, but lately its become the slowest moving course ever. In fact Im writing this review as I sit on the tee box with 2 other groups. Called the clubhouse and they did absolutely nothing.
Great place for lessons, nice private teaching area.
Fast greens
Good course
Great place to play!
Nice recovery from weather
Fun by 3 race.
