On Sept 8, on behalf of FragilePak, Porter Moving Company delicately delivered some new furniture to our home. Wearing white gloves and booties, they carefully negotiated the front door, unwrapped the furniture, assembled and legs and placed our new couches and chair in the living room on recently polished floors. Not a scratch or blemish. They tidied up and removed all the packing materials and were on their way in less than 30 minutes. If I ever need to have something like this moved again, Id definitely put Porter at the top of the list.

Avoid at all cost:My engagement with Porter Moving Company began fine. They were late to the estimate but were kind and courteous. I ultimately hired them for packing and moving followed by storage at their facility.Many issues followed:1. They grossly underestimated the cost of the move. While this may happen, we sold multiple rooms worth of furniture before they came (thereby reducing what was quoted during the estimate). This cost us significantly more than they were telling us while also letting us know that they inflate the estimate to come in shy of the number.2. They did not pack everything in the house leaving whole areas unattended to.3. They miscalculated the packing: This led to a second truck on a second day needing to be sent out. While we were assured this was a one day move we were left to harbor that extra cost.4. Our items were stored in their warehouse. We found many items dinged and wet, some unsalvageable.5. They co-mingled another familys belongings with ours: We moved boxed items (which we had no way of identifying) to our new home. We now have 50 boxes that will need to be returned as they refuse to pick them up.Finally, the individual in charge has no sense of customer service. He will bait and switch continuously through your interactions with him while trying to nickel and dime you ever step of the way. Avoid

I contacted Porter Moving Company to move a heavy treadmill from the first floor to the basement as I couldn’t seem to get it to fit down the stairs (1950s home). John was absolutely wonderful in coordinating a team to come work their magic. Jarvis and Joel arrived and from the moment they arrived were professional and hard working. They were able to successfully move the treadmill from one room to the basement and didn’t have to take it apart. I was truly amazed at their ability to slowly and perfectly make the treadmill fit in those tight corners. Thank you Jarvis and Joel!

I recently moved from cedar rapids to St. Petersburg Florida. The movers were friendly, professional, and punctual. They worked with my schedule and I appreciated that.The only real hesitation I have was with the price .At a bit over $10,000 the move was extremely expensive. Especially since they used a huge truck, but still managed to pack all my stuff into he 10 x 10 storage unit Id rented in Florida.

I had these fine folks move me yesterday. I am sure glad I went with Porters. It was so hot out yesterday (95) but those two young men didnt care. They worked so hard and so fast until the job was done. Joel and Jarvis was very professional and so nice. I couldnt have done it without them. I felt so bad for them and told them to take a break whenever they needed to but once again they didnt stop.

We had Grant C, Mark W, and Jarvis S move our family from an apartment to our home they were awesome! Took care of all our items and worked really hard as we were on 3rd floor apartment with no elevator. John was extremely accommodating in getting us worked in to the schedule with very short notice. John had a crew of six, including himself, over at 7:am to make sure the move was completed in time for our electricians arrival. His crew of Grant, Brian, Jarvis, Kevin and Kelii were fast and more importantly, very careful. This move was efficient, very affordable and it was just a great overall experience. Porter Moving Co of IA just delivered five, large pieces of furniture I had purchased from Arhaus. The two movers, Jayden and Kelii, did a superior, conscientious, outstanding job. THE BEST.Jayden called when they were about an hour away, and they showed up on time. One item was badly damaged because of inadequate packing by Arhaus, and the men pointed out this to me immediately so that I could photograph the damage and refuse delivery.Jaden and Kelii carried in each item carefully and gave consideration not to damage my house in the process. They unpacked every item and helped me to inspect for damage. They cleaned up residue from the packaging and removed it from my house. They patiently waited while I contacted Arhaus regarding the item I had refused.PROFESSIONAL, A++++ job! I dont give compliments lightly. This company is the BEST if you care about the items you are moving. We have moved 6 times, and every time items were damaged. In February, we moved a household of goods to a Texas house. I fired those movers during the process because of the damage they inflicted on our house including ruining basement carpeting that had to be replaced and for which I was not reimbursed.Porter Moving is the only company I will use for future moves. The expertise and professionalism of Kelii and Jayden show that the owners of Porter Moving Company understand stellar quality and superior customer service.

Needed help with an upright piano. Piano was in an older home with pretty bad wood stairs coming off the front porch, the only viable exit. Grant was on the ball and had the crew dialed in (Mark, Joel and Jarvis). I was pretty impressed by their professionalism and ability to move this fairly heavy piano without any trouble. I was doubly impressed by their demeanor and attention to detail protecting both the piano and the building.Keep up the good work and remember, the customer is always right.....unless they are wrong!

While my experience having Nordictrack equipment shipped was not great. Porter was gracious and actually made a not great experience turn out quite well.

I had two experiences with Porter Moving Co. First off Donna called to set up delivery. She was very friendly and helpful when we had to change dates for delivery. The two drivers Joel and Jarvis were punctual, friendly and helpful. I would recommend them anytime.

Incredibly positive experience moving with Porter Moving Company! Jarvis, Julian, and Joel greatly exceeded my high expectations for expertise and professionalism. We had a complicated move with a lot of delicate pieces including glass and heavy items. They individually wrapped everything, padded our floors and doors, and planned every movement so as to avoid damaging our house. Particularly helpful was Jarvis expertise around how to take apart our king size bed frame. I did not know how to separate some of the main pieces and he graciously showed me how to do it. You should definitely hire Porter Moving for your moving needs!

We have used this company through two moves. The crew was speedy and very through with packing things so the truck was evenly packed and everything fit into the truck that we could. I had a difficult move involving two flights of stairs and Porter got it done a lot faster than I expected. They were super-speedy and very careful! The estimate said it could take them around 7 hours, they did it in 4. They didn’t just pile everything up in the new place, they arranged everything the way we wanted it. They also helped mount our TV and offered to plug everything back in. We are very happy with the service we received. They went above and beyond. We would definitely recommend!!!

Grant and Mark were just terrific. They were careful and respectful. They had to take some very heavy furniture up and down a difficult staircase but they did it perfectly and without complaint. I would certainly hire this company again because of them.

Kyle, Brian, and Ethan were able to pack all of my belongings efficiently in their truck, communicated well with me throughout the process, and they arrived in California when they said they would, on time, considering the summer heat. After reading online reviews, we decided to use a local company to move between cities in Iowa. Having moved 4 other times around the Eastern United States, we have used national chains in our previous moves. We opted to give Porter Moving a call to get a quote, and see if we felt comfortable to have them move the belongings in our 4 bedroom house. Once I spoke with John, we felt assured that Porter Moving would do a great job for a fair price. For this move, we had a dollar limit that we wanted to spend, and John worked with me to get the most services for the amount we had in mind. Then came moving day. Kyle and crew called on their way from Cedar Rapids, when they were about a half hour away from our home in Cedar Falls. After they showed up and did a quick walk through, they began putting the boxes into the truck. We had boxed everything up prior to their arrival. We were very impressed with how efficient and careful they were with our possessions and furniture. And did I mention the weather was terrible. It poured about 3 inches while they were loading, and they found ways to keep our things dry. They delivered and unloaded everything in our new home in Ankeny the same day and were done by mid-afternoon.Overall we were very pleased with our experience and would highly recommend Porter Moving.

The best moving experience we have had ! This is the only company we have found that cares . I can not stress enough that these guys moved heavy, heavy items out of our basement and there was absolutely no damage done to any of our newly painted walls, new floors or new entryway . Every piece of furniture was wrapped and packed with expertise. The 60” TV arrived in perfect condition at the other end . Kyle and Adam were nice and worked hard from the moment they arrived. They drove the truck load to Louisiana where my son and his wife were thrilled to find all of their belongings were in perfect condition. They were also impressed with how efficient the truck was unloaded and with absolutely no damage to their walls or wood floors . Our whole family agrees Porter Movers are worth every penny and deserve 10 stars ! After so many terrible experiences with other movers this was truly a pleasant surprise. They made good on every promise. Showed up on time, no damage to items or homes, stayed right on price quote, and arrived the next day as expected. Do not mistake the importance of our last sentence. Other moving companies promise what you want to hear just to rope you in and get your money ! The last company waited till the day they were to pick up to tell us they couldn’t find a truck to do the pick up - so they had to crate the load. Too late to cancel, as a customer you have no choice . Everything was ruined and the company didn’t care . The crate showed up with our smashed, dirty, ruined items 6 days after promised .Trust us when we say, it is a terrible feeling. We were so nervous about have to go through this again, but made the right choice by going with Porter Moving Company . Porter moving delivered my treadmill on time, set it up and it works. on top of it all theyre nice people who really care about their customer. make the whole process easy. when you call them youre not stuck for an hour in some lousy, nested voicemail system. donna answers the phone and is very pleasant and if she cant readily answer your question she she promptly returns your call. brian and ryan delivered on time, did a professional installation and are polite. i find it rare when customer service calls are painless and actually enjoyable

Kyle said the move could be done between 11 -1 and would call before heading over. Received a call at 11 and they arrived within 10 minutes. Very friendly crew consisting of Marvin, Marty, Travis and Trenton. Moved the piano and freezer up 10 steps with no problem or damage to items or house. Then they delivered it the same way. On time, friendly, safe, considerate and damage free job. Cannot ask for more

I hired Porter moving company in the middle of packing... I was stressed out, overwhelmed and exhausted. John and Kyle at Porter were there to meet my needs. not only there to provide a service but to empathize with me.. which was a personal touch. This company was booked with other moves, however they made my move a priority. The price was reasonable and fair. I wasn’t taxed for a last minute move. The guys that came were hardworking, they moved my things with care and didn’t rush. I felt this company were good people with a personal touch, I have to use them again!!! Kyle and Ethan came to us July 19th in Iowa for our move to South Carolina. They packed effectively and efficiently and literally stuffed the truck to the gills. They showed up on time in SC on Tuesday July 23rd and unloaded our things where we asked them to put them. Even came in an hour less than their estimated time and reduced the bill accordingly. 10/10 would use them again.

I was told yesterday afternoon that my treadmill (that they have had all week) would be delivered today between 1 and 3. I made arrangements to be home for the delivery, which is not easy to do on a Friday afternoon when you work in healthcare. Then today I get a call from an inarticulate delivery driver, who sounds like hes excited for an early Friday off work, not long before 1pm saying theyre not coming because of a snow storm that has been forecasted for days. I want to know why on earth did they even schedule it for today if they knew the storm was coming and clearly they dont work during storms or why they wouldnt schedule further deliveries into he morning when there is weather coming in the afternoon. So then I call the office and they tell me they were supposed to drop it off and set up a time for a different day to put it together and that they would call me back. So then I get another call from another person who then says they can do curbside delivery today (put the 350 lb treadmill in my garage) and the delivery would be complete meaning they wont come back (even though I paid for it to be delivered to any room in my home and assembled) or they can possibly reschedule for Monday and they will call me back. Then I get yet another call saying they cannot come until next Friday, which is super inconvenient for me, because they only come to my city on Fridays, and usually in the afternoon. If you cant accommodate people that live this far away you shouldnt be the company delivering to this area for Nordictrack. Obviously the customer doesnt matter to you people, only the money that comes with saying you can accommodate the deliveries, when clearly you cannot. I will be complaining to Nordictrack directly as well. Response to owner response: My issue was not with your safety concerns. I am not a moron who thinks you should put your drivers out unsafely. My issue is with your complete lack of forethought with the scheduling of the delivery and poor customer service and lack of flexibility when YOU rescheduled and NOT TRYING to accommodate a different day of the week. If you cant accommodate a different day of the week you should NOT be CONTRACTED for this area at all. I have expressed this to both RYDER and Nordictrack as Minneapolis and Des Moines are both closer and I will be calling them both Monday morning again as your business is being unreasonable with delivery time.

Forgive me if I get the names wrong, but I believe it was Kyle, CJ, and Canai? These three did great moving my parents from their 4 bedroom home, and I was there to witness the move. They each had a great sense of humor, and they moved everything without any noticeable damage, were hard workers, and came in significantly under the quoted time. My parents were very pleased, and so was I.
